Yes, you're doing a European series, that's cool! Hungarian foods looks amazing and here's one thing you guys, if you're in Hungary, you must try the Langos ( The Hungarian Fried Bread), everyone try it when I watched the other videos. Good job!
I love Gulash, palinka and kurtos so much! Beautiful country, amazing capital and very nice and clever peoples. P.S: Sziget festival is the best! I'm romanian and i don't hate you! Respect and love from Bucharest-Romania! 🤗
I am Canadian-Hungarian, but I grew up in a total Hungarian household. Langos is one of my personal favourite. It really is more pan fried than deep fried. I find the best way to eat it is rubbed with garlic and dusted lightly with salt. Yum! It’s a staple in my house. And of course chicken paprikas with nokedli, stuffed peppers and cabbage rolls. And then the desserts! Szarbo is the best. But let us not forget polacinta. Hope you enjoyed. Watching your video made me incredibly hungry and nostalgic.
Cabbage rolls are the epitome of comfort food in my world. I've never seen one as big as the one you ate, but it looked amazing. Love seeing you both in Europe. Don't complain about all the tourists when you're one yourself!
I`m glad you liked the things you tried. Hungarians make wonderful food, and that`s why I snagged a cookbook before leaving! And you`re right about kremes pastry - wow!
Since my first visit to Budapest 1981 when I was 6 years old, I really love Hungarian food! I remember my first meeting with my grandmother. She brought chocolate boxes as gifts for me and my 16 years old Hungarian cousin. We were eating breakfast when she came and I was "rude" (not used to eat chocolate as breakfast and she thought I was like my cousin who ate chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner) and said I wanted to eat more salami, gyulai kolbasz, white fresh paprika with the tasty Hungarian farmer's bread and save the chocolate for the evening! Imagine the faces of the rest :)
Going to gelert baths and feasting on beer and goulash afterwards is probably one of the top 15 best experiences I've had in life. Budapest is amazing. Love the people, the langos and history experienced while I was there. I must mention that Százéves Étterem (oldest restaurant in Budapest) and varosliget in hero square were responsible for cooking up some of the most memorable feast I enjoyed during my time there. That city is so much fun tho. Great food everywhere, the list is truly endless.
@@AllAmericanGuy01 I always drinking milk while eating cereal. Btw goulash (gulyás) is a spicy, hot, heavy, meaty, potato soup (or stew or something in between them). We usually drink beer while cooking the soup over campfire (not during the lunch), the good gulyás takes 3-5 hours to get ready so we have a lot of time to hang around with friends and family. During the lunch you don't need anything else to drink but a glass of red wine.
I left Hungary 26 years ago (1994). I miss it especially the food and yes the palinka lol. Some of the food I can cook like the cabbage rolls and csirke paprikas. So good...
In the castle district is a nice little pastry shop tucked away in a narrow alleyway called Budavari Retesvar - they sell some pretty good strudels of various fillings including poppyseed, curd cheese (also with blackcurrant), cabbage etc.
On the fisherman's bastion. In medieval times the citiy's guilds also provided garrison and every guild had a designated section of the wall they were responsible for. And the fisherman's guild was responsible to cover that area back then. That's why it's named fisherman's bastion.
Really glad you made a video like this! Already more than a year i left my country and miss some vibes. This video was warm my heart. Good to see you had a fun time there. My fav is the cabbige roll so far. Thx
Another great, great vid of Buda-Pest. If it's touristy, it is so for a reason - there is something to see there. I like touristy places when my time is short. I certainly agree, though, a touristy restaurant might not be my first choice as, like you, I prefer more authentic local fare in food for taste, selection and $$$. Great vid from a great couple. Keep it up.
It is a beautiful city ! We have been there twice and spent 10 days total . Love every minute of the stay! Don't miss the tour of the parliament, the ride on the Danube at night, the mathis church, the palace tour , the fishermen's bastion, the central marker, gerbaud cafe and the secret archaeological site under the Hilton hotel in the buda side!
i miss this atmoshphere of life, before this virus changes everything.. I use to explore Budapest and culinary here too. I love Hungarian foods. They are great.

Yeah but you also have to understand how fucking rude it is for them to shove a camera in their faces over the counter. Considering they do this to almost everyone, you're gonna get one person that's not ok with it, and I'm sure they didn't even bother with asking them.
Somehow in Hungary my experience was that half of the people you see on streets or restaurants are rude. I know it is individual basis but somehow that feeling I don't have anywhere else I've visited as a tourist. And I don't hold any camera to them neither just not speaking their languages.
