BUDAPEST, HUNGARY - One of the most spectacular cities in Europe, Budapest is a fantastic mix of delicious food loaded with paprika, and amazing attractions to visit. In this Hungarian food tour, we’ll eat delicious local food, and visit some of the most famous attractions. Get ready for a full tour of Budapest, Hungary! #Budapest #HungarianFood #goulash
St. Stephen's Basilica - Since it was on the way to the first restaurant, we stopped for a quick visit to St. Stephen's Basilica, a Roman Catholic basilica in the heart of Budapest. It’s spectacular.
Első Pesti Rétesház - Hungarian Restaurant - Located right in the heart of Budapest, around the corner from St. Stephen's Basilica is Első Pesti Rétesház. Local Hungarian friends had recommended the strudel there, so that’s exactly what I went for. I’m not sure about the other food, but their strudel is fantastic. I tried a sour cherry and a cabbage, both extraordinary. Total price - 1,300 HUF ($4.29)
Hungarian Parliament Building - Also known as the National Assembly of Hungary, this is a landmark and iconic building of Budapest.
Pozsonyi Kisvendeglo - But there was nothing I wanted more than to get started eating local Hungarian food on this tour. So we walked over to Pozsonyi Kisvendeglo, a local restaurant with an indoor section and lovely outdoor terrace. First I ordered one of their specialities, bone marrow with garlic and toast. Then without a doubt, there was nothing I wanted to eat more than Hungarian goulash, the most well known of all Hungarian food. Their goulash was outstanding, flavorful from paprika, and loaded with tender chunks of beef. Additionally, their Pörkölt, a Hungarian meat stew, served with pasta dumplings, was delicious. Ying had the steak with mushrooms, also fantastic. Great Hungarian food! Total price - 8,400 HUF ($27.69) for everything
Matthias Church - Church of the Assumption of the Buda Castle - After lunch we walked across the river to Matthias Church, which was very busy, and unfortunately it wasn’t open on the inside due to a wedding. But the outside was still worth a visit.
Buda Castle - Royal Palace - Finally, the last of the Budapest attractions we visited on this tour was Buda Castle. And then we were ready to eat again!
Náncsi Néni - Located not too far, but outside the limits of Budapest, is a restaurant that I really wanted to try, and so we caught a taxi directly there. Náncsi Néni is exactly what I was hoping for, a local Hungarian food restaurant, serving traditional Hungarian dishes, all within a picturesque tree shaded courtyard. We tried the catfish paprikash stew, and the roasted duck with liver. Both were delicious. Náncsi Néni is a little more of a Hungarian upscale restaurant, but it was well worth it, for the food and ambiance, and it’s a great place for kids too. 18,300 HUF ($60.33) - Total price for everything
Thank you for watching this Hungarian food tour of Budapest, and I hope you have an amazing time when you visit!

Hey Mark, as a Hungarian I must say you have made a better representation of what Hungary/Budapest is and what makes it great than any other video (Hungarian or foreign) could have/has had ever done. This is really what keeps people living here. Thank you for your great appreciation and brilliant video! Glad you liked your trip here!

For about a year I took care of a young Hungarian man. His mother a Hungarian immigrant had a story that brought me to tears. She would make some of these dishes for me and I could see the pride in her eyes when my eyes lit up on the first bite. Such delicious savory food. Coldcuts, onions, delicious broths, the Hungarian paprika is yummy. Such a rich history and culture. Thank you for sharing this video. Beautiful country.

I love goulash. We visited Prague in 2015 and we noticed a Hungarian guy in one of the Christmas markets looking very stern, standing next to a big steaming pot of something. We went over and I asked what it is and he replied in a very stern voice "GOULASH!" I had to try it with some bread and I'm glad I did. Absolutely amazing 👌

For years now I have enjoyed and relished your videos. I can't help but giggle to myself in this one you have had. Huge meal with beef and marrow and soup and dumplings. Then you take us on a walk, beautiful scenery. Now we are getting in a cab to go to a RESTAURANT TO EAT AGAIN! I would love to do that but I would be 600 LBS Love to you Ying and Micah and God keep you all safe.
Another thing I notice that Ying lets you try her food also. The steak and mushrooms yummy.
My family when we were at a restaurant would try a sample of each other's plates. It was fun. My two sons and husband. Now they have their own families with 5 grandchildren. Now it is hard going through the virus not being able to hug your kids and grandkids. The world is in such a mess. I know and believe God is in control and we as Christians have nothing to fear.

@@Wazav94 Yes, I love the old buildings, streets and parks of my hometown... but not so much the gentrification. So my issues are mainly with the new hipster class (which moved in during the 1990s and drove out and replaced real craftsmen, workshops, and so on).

Make a trip around Lake Balaton in Hungary! You will really enjoy it. For example: North bank: 1.Márga Bistro: high quality food with amazing panorama. 2. Udvarház Bánd: unbelievable old-old traditional kitchen. 3. Oszi Halsütöde Szigliget: best nowdays/traditional beach food of the fishes of Balaton. South bank: 1. Majtényi Présház Kishegy Balatonlelle: best panorama at Lake Balaton at sunset, home cooking. 2. Kistücsök Étterem Balatonszemes: regional, high quality food with world-wide experience of the owner. Amazing hidden treasures of culture and nature, dozens of fine wine-cellars, last but not least: yachting, swimming, sunbathing at the Lake. Long live Balaton!

Adding the stops between the meals was awesome and the ending with Unicum was perfect! 👍 I explored the Buda side (Fisherman's Bastion, Matthias Church, Buda Castle, etc.) during the day but also returned at night to see Pest lit up. *_Highly recommend._* Impossible to describe. Just breathtaking...especially the Parliament Building.
