    Will never forget.
    Expo '86 Vancouver.
    Czechoslovakia pavillion.
Was 13 years old and my family stopped to dine at that pavilion's restaurant. We didn't know what to order from the menu... asked for any recommendations from the server.
The waitress placed the plate in front of me. Tan gravy, meat something underneath.
🤯 my mind and tastebuds were blown away. I couldn't believe what I was eating...I was in absolute shock.
The manager running the restaurant came to our table.. introduced himself, welcomed us and asked how we enjoyed the meal. Remember myself excitedly asking him what this dish was and telling him how fantastic it tasted.
    "Svickova..."
He pat me on the head, smiled and thanked us.... then walked to another table.
After a little while I feel another pat on the head from behind. The manager returned with two more servings of svickova and placed them in front of me😄
    What a true gentleman.
35 years later...I've never forgotten the dish or the hospitality of those people.
    Unbelievable.

Swiss is lovely and safe country too and one of the best places to live. However, Czech in past few years is becoming paradise for living. I have traveled almost whole world in my previous job and I can tell you that there is not many countries I would like to live other than Czech. Swiss, Austria and New Zealand possibly Island are the only ones I can think of.

Yeah, I noticed that too. It has nothing to do with The Czech Republic. It has to do with the fact that it was a roast (or braise) and the sauces for these are made with what remains after you remove the meat from juices. It is a cooking technique that is used all over Europe especially in the UK.

Hello, Mark. I've been watching you for a year now. I was diagnosed with Distal Esophageal Stricture which means I couldn't eat thru my mouth. They removed my whole stomach last November 10 and still recovering; I couldn't feel hungry at all. But watching your videos with your family is purely satisfying. Best highlight for me is seeing Micah, anyway. Haha. Keep exploring the world, foods, and culture. Hope you come back here in the Philippines soon!

Svickova is my favourite Czech meal too. And that goulash with pancakes is ordinary instead of pancakes with dumplings and raw onion, and that is really good. The "Vepřo, knedlo, zelo" - pork meat, cabbage and dumplings -> really tasty :) But after all Czech meals you want to go sleep :)

Najbardziej lubię knedlicki z gulaszem, pecene koleno, czoneckową zupę, utopence itp. Fajna atmosfera, wesoła. Zawsze mają mnóstwo klientów. Nawet teraz w dobie pandemii ludzie zamawiają od nich z dowozem.
