Your cuisine is divine. It is underrated, in my opinion.
Still remember pečená kachna with braised red cabbage and knedliki. Doesn’t matter whether they are from bread or potato, both options are good. The braised cabbage can be a tasty dish even without the duck. Veprove koleno looks big and unhealthy, but its taste nullifies the minuses. Can't say anything bad about the local goulash or svíčková.
Chybí Koprová omáčka. Úžasná bylinková a jemná záležitost. Ale jinak souhlas, zejména ohledně názoru na guláš v chlebu . To je jen reklamní hnus a je jedno jestli je to jako polévka a nebo jako omáčka.
These are staples of home cooking. I am especially surprised by the choice of the stuffed dumplings; while a classic, you don't usually see people talking about it - but it's so great.
That was a surprisingly good selection which I might show to my non-Czech friends. There are also some incredible dishes which are unfortunately nigh impossible to find in restaurants. Škubánky s mákem, houbový kuba, buřtguláš, dršťková polévka (cow stomach soup - might be offputting to some but it is delicious)... I don't know how popular they are these days but I loved them when I was a kid and I still make them sometimes. And don't forget the staple Czech Christmas dish - fried carp "horseshoes" with potato salad!
i. think some of these proposals maybe found in a Globus restaurant 😄 , i did have dršťková polévka in an Ikea before and it was great. Similar dish to a traditional Zimbabwean dish i grew up eating..
Fried carp is the one i highly dislike, despite giving it many chances 😄😄
It really depends when it comes to goulash in bread bowl. The one I ate once was very good and not dry, it very much didnt suck. Though I must say the special czech dumplings they serve it with more often are really lovely.
Thanks. Finally someone got around to the crspy pork knuckle. At Porks. I believe that is the thing I would most like to try.
I have to say great selection. Personally I would add "segedinský guláš", "koprová omáčka" and "karbenátky". For people, who don't want meat there is another option beside fried chesee and that is traditional sweet dishes such as "sladké knedlíky" (dumpling filled with fruits). Also if you want ultimate "řízek" variant you need to have it with "potato salad" instead just plain potatos. When it comes to soups home made "knedlíčková" is the best, but I would also mention "smetanová polévka".
"Segedin" isnt typical Czech food.
My favorite dish is also svíčková 🎉

Personally 0:16 baked pork bits "výpečky" with potato dumplings and garlic spinach are top 3 for me always. The list is otherwise solid. Much love.
Not bad choices but would add some dishes. Segedín, moravský vrabec, rajská, koprovka, uzený s křenovou omáčkou, kulajda, kynuté buchty, vánočka, nudle s makem.........

Absolutní souhlas. Asi by jsem vynechal plněné knedlíky a dodal " koprovku, vepřo ( vrabec, či cokoliv podobného), knedlo, zelo...rajskou ať s paprikou anebo s hovězím a určitě by jsem vynechal husu a játrové knedlíčky. Ne kvůli kvalitě, ale kvůli ranku na žebříčku.

Miller's style trout and roasted duck with red cabbage and potato dumplings are missing IMHO.
Job well done. Often I see videos of authentic Czech cousine and I am baffled by the selection. That being said :) the fried cheese is restaurant fast food, I can't deny some ppl here eat it, but if you travel to Czechia, it is not worth trying compared to other options mentioned in the chat. The schnitzel is often coupled with potato salad and I consider it a more authentic version, also chicken meat is the worst option for it. Chlebicek in shops is usually done with average ingredients at best, don't recommand it. If you want to try it, go to special shops. Goulash is great, pick beef meat version. My favourite meal is the stuffed dumplings followed by dumplings, meat, cabbage and chicken paprikash with dumplings.
Saying fried cheese with fries and tartar sauce is light is crazzzyyy. I always feel sick after eating it 😅
I thought it would be heavy too, but i was pleasantly surprised as i avoided it for that reason. I would not eat it often though 😄
Roasted Pork Meat with Furry Dumplings and Spinach is also 10/10 food

there are vegan and vegetarian restaurants in Prague, but a normal restaurant will only have salads and fried cheese, we are meat lovers

You will find fried cheese in all traditional Czech restaurants. It is a must have staple and most of the time it is good.
Czech foods are great, but I mostly avoid them as a local because they aren't very healthy
I would add utopenec (drowned man?) and vrabec (both versions, with spinach or with cabbage). Other then that is great list!

The deli shop is called "Libeřské lahůdky" - they have several places over Prague.
Man rlly went from best to worst, and beef tartar is originally from France
