Hey everyone!
What's your favourite comfort food?
Thanks for watching! 😊🧡
Ooo good question, I'm going with cheesy mac and cheese, the kind made at home with real macaroni!
Good choice, Ronda!
'Pörkölt' is my choice :D Made it so much time i could tell to anybody anywhere in the world how to make it :D
@druszan17 yum!! That's a very good choice 😋🤤
Thank you so much, Steph for saying Budapest the correct way and pronouncing the "s" as "sh". Nobody who makes a video about our city does that. It was so kind and respectful of you to actually say the name of our city as we do! You guys rock! And so happy you had a great time! Maybe some day you come back in the summer and enjoy the Budapest in bloom...
Thank you for your comment! We try our best to pronounce correctly, and we're glad to hear that. We would love to come back in the summer when it is a little warmer, hopefully soon🤞 thanks again and all the best to you!
@@HungryTwoTravelYou have to taste the birthday cake of Hungary.
Nice video. As a Hungarian, it's great to see that more and more people are trying Hungarian cuisine. There are many unique Hungarian dishes that are not known at all in the world. In my opinion, it is worth trying as many as possible :).
We agree! We love trying new things and there are so many delicious Hungarian dishes to try. Thanks a lot for watching and commenting😊
You made our mouth water!!! The food looks incredible over there. That pork cutlet was massive and it was looking so good. We loved the Langos and the Strudel. The city is just so beautiful and full of history and amazing architecture. Thanks a lot for sharing and keep up the great work :)
The langos are incredible and we had it more than once while we were there😝😉 we couldn't get over the cutlet, you would have loved everything! Budapest is a gorgeous city and very worth a visit. Thanks so much for your support guys! 🧡
We are happy if you liked the food.
Thank you for being our guest in Hungary. 🫶🏻😎
We loved it 😋 thanks so much for watching!
@@HungryTwoTravel ❤️
There is a place in Budapest called street food karavan where you can buy burgers with langos instead of burger buns. It's amazing!
Ah yes we went to this area but didn't get a chance to try anything. That sounds very interesting, and super tasty! Next time we visit we'll have to go, thanks for the suggestion ;)
We went to Regős Vendéglő in our food video! We were actually looking to have the túrógombóc there as well, but they were out. Glad we got to see what it looked like. Yours looked quite different than the one we had.
That strudel place is super close to our apartment. We haven't been yet though. Looked good!
And that schnitzel was massive..good lawd'. 😂
Hey guys! Oh my gosh that schnitzel was insane and oh so good, definitely big enough for two😂 you should check out the strudel place! They have loads of different kinds to try, the turo was our fave. Turo anything we love really! Thanks a lot for watching and commenting you two!!
First to comment! Wow, another amazing video showcasing Hungarian food. The schnitzel was seriously a monster, and the langos looks like a mix between a donut and pizza, incredible! Thanks for sharing your good adventures!
🥳 first comment Charles! We love Hungarian food and that schnitzel was insane. Langos is amazing and one of our favourite things here! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
And people ask me why i gained 25kg since i met my Hungarian wife...
😂 That would be very easy! Hungarian food is incredible, we loved every bit. You enjoy that home cooking!! Thanks for watching and commenting 😊

I'm Hungarian for 75% but this is a good excuse😅

Videót megnézted? :) Pléhcsárda?
Hey there,
I genuinely enjoyed your video; you are absolutely charming! It seems like you had some local insights on where to go, as your choices were excellent.
I hope you don't mind if I share a few comments.
Choosing Pléh for "rántotthús" was a great call. In Hungary, we usually think of breaded schnitzel made from pork, but it's not common to eat schnitzel without a side dish. The portion you had was gigantic, so I can understand not needing a side. Traditionally, schnitzels are something you'd typically have at your grandma's or mom's place on Sundays, usually paired with meat soup. I noticed you tried "Jókai bableves," which is fantastic-it’s a traditional Hungarian bean soup that's quite filling. Usually, pairing this with some "palacsinta" (crepes) filled with "túró" (a type of curd cheese) is more than enough for a meal.
In everyday Hungarian households, schnitzels are smaller, around 200-250 grams, and are typically served with sides like boiled rice or mashed potatoes (fried potatoes are more of a fast-food thing). Another popular side is "kovászos uborka," which is a special fermented cucumber we make in the summer.
There's also a well-loved sandwich called "rántotthúsos szendvics," which is essentially a breaded schnitzel in a bread roll-simple but delicious. They often accompany hungarian families to any trip, even for smaller ones.
You mentioned the lángos being generously topped with cheese. That amount is actually what we expect and love on our lángos! Also, so you definitely visited one of the best places in Budapest for it.
The only really weird / funny is the title of the video.
"Gyorskaja ban ben Budapest Magyarország 🇭🇺 - Szörny Magyar Sertésszelet + Legjobb Lángos Budapesten!""
Not sure if it was intentional for going viral, but "gyorskaja" is junk food, not street food, also, "szörny" literally translates from "monstrous" or "monster" etc. but we do not use this, only for animals or, with only a letter, to "awful". Also, the "ban ben" part makes no sense as it's two forms of "in" but we stick them to the end of the words. This is part of the language that scares many people. Anyways, try not to be a language tutor, I'd recommend
"Budapest, Magyarország - legjobb helyi ételek - Jókai Bableves, palaincsa, brutális magyar rántotthús - a legjobb lángos Budapesten"
Congratulations on your video-it’s one of the best ones I've seen from visitors here. Well done!
Wow, thank you so much for your comment! We're so glad you enjoyed the video. We enjoyed visiting Budapest so much and the food, oh so good. That's so awesome about the langos, we love that's just how much you expect, and rightfully so! As for the title, as we are not Hungarian speakers this was a translation, so we appreciate your suggestion to make it more grammatically correct, thank you for that!!
Again, thanks for watching and for your support, we hope you enjoy our other videos from other countries as well 😉 we are just beginning a Balkan food tour and are so excited to share our food adventures with you. All the best!

The pork cutlet and fried dough are massive. I bet they were very tasty too judging from how happy you two while eating them.
I also love the architecture and details of the places you've shown.
Great vid. See you two next meal. ✨️🫶🏻😊
Hey Cris, that pork cutlet was so big and so tasty, we were so happy😊😆 the fried dough was incredible as well. We ate it quite a few times while we were in Budapest it was just so good😋 thanks a lot for watching and commenting😊
Thank you for pronouncing Budapest correctly ! Anyway Túrógombóc was putted on roasted bred crumbs.

Great, that you tried not only the fancy one's. Ihave never heard about Regős (Of course, there is still a lot that I don't know), but that on looks good, /price plus they have Hortobágyi- "pancakes „Hortobágy” Style"-I have only eaten really good Hortobágyi in a few places. I will test it
Yes we definitely recommend checking them out. Their three course lunch menu was very affordable for what you get, and the food was delicious. Thanks a lot for watching, we hope you enjoy if you make it to them for a visit! 😊
Hi!
The history of Székelykáposzta :
A journalist named Székely went to a restaurant for dinner.
But the restaurateur said he could only serve sauerkraut and stew.
The journalist told him to mix them together and serve them to him.
The dish turned out so well that later others also asked for it and named it after the mastermind. We also eat it without sour cream.
Note: Székely is also the name of a Hungarian ethnic group. Their flag is next to the Hungarian one on the Parliament building.
Boldog village has a traditional version called Fehérkáposzta ( white cabbage).
Here, white bacon is cooked together with cabbage and thickened with a stir-fry without paprika. Which is funny, because they produce very high-quality paprika here. There is very little of it, it does not even reach large markets.
Poppy fillings are usually enriched with apples.
The cabbage strudel is worth trying, too.
Túró is actually a phase of cheese production. Therefore, it is natural similar to cheese
13:35 He was the founder. R.I.P.
The type of paprika is TV, which is short tölteni való ( for stuffing) . In English it is called Hungarian wax. It's a completely common paprika here, practically every dish that uses raw paprika contains it.. It's not the spicy type.
You got it sour. It was probably pickled together with spicy varieties, that's why it was spicy.
IIt's a TV because it's used to stuffing. In one of the variations, it is cooked with rice and meat filling. In the other, it is pickled with cabbage.
Wow thanks for all the info!! That's all very interesting to know 😊
Why would you eat it without sourcream, I add at least 3-4 tablespoons of it in a bowl
@@leventelajos5078 Ki ahogy szereti, úgy egye. Mindkét verzióban jó.
The paprika reminds of sourness... becuse of it dared. 🤣It is harmonizes with the meat in crumbs excellently. And it is makes the digestion easier. I adore the sour paprika filled with the cabbage anyway and I recommend it in one, drawn sensational one.
Thanks for watching!
Believe it or not, poppy seeds are a controlled import item here in Singapore 😅- I was very jealous when I saw Chris with that enormous mouthful of poppy seed strudel 😂. Also - that savory pancake looked amazing!
Wow no way! That is a very strict stance to take on poppy seeds, we understand the significance of the poppy, but wow didn't realise that!! You would love the langos Feng, so savoury oh my gosh we were in heaven🤤🤤 thanks for watching and commenting!
At first, the poppy was grown for the morphine it contains. The logo of one pharmaceutical company also became the poppy cocoon. The state controlled it very strictly, like tobacco now.
Later, a chemist developed the morphine extraction technology for varieties with low morphine content. After that, only such varieties could be grown. Breeding was constantly aimed at reducing the morphine content of the seeds.
Today, there are only varieties that do not contain morphine in their seeds. Control is easy, as these are varieties with white flowers.
Ín Hungary We eat that a lot. :)
With the Joki Bab Leves, add fresh Hungarian bread and pickled peppers then it's a complete meal.
Yum! We'll keep that in mind for next time 😉 thanks for watching!
@@HungryTwoTravel On behalf of the people of Budapest, thank you for this lovely video.
The correct pronunciation is described: Jókai bableves (bablevesh). The core name of the dish called strudel is: rétes(retesh).
@@fabiangyorgy1859thank you very much for your comment 😊🧡
A készítőknek legközelebb ajánlom a káposztás rétest is, kihagyhatatlan.
The opening shot looks familiar.😄
We figured you'd enjoy that😝

I'm sorry to correct you guys but the túró gombóc has farmer cheese in it not cottage cheese. I'm Hungarian so that's what I know about indegrience
That's why I know 😊
Ah yes, cottage cheese was the best translation we could find for it in English, but you're right it's farmers cheese, thanks for the information!!
Budapest is not in Eastern Europe, but in Central Europe, more precisely in the middle of Europe!
🇭🇺
So the studel has a farmer cheese also not cottage cheese
😉👍
Eat lángos only with salt, garlic, sourcreme and cheese! Every other is for tourists only! 😊
We had a few different kinds when we were in Hungary, including the classic 😉 They're all so good. We saw locals eating all kinds of options while we were there :)
@@HungryTwoTravel indeed, bacon is not that common as it makes it even heavier, what is does not need if you try to eat a full langos alone :) but red onion as extra is also great and eaten by locals too
❤❤
😊😊😊
Not in Eastern Europe, Hungary is located in Central Europe.
👍
That is not red onion. It is purple onion on your lángos.
And not green onion! Green onion is what you cut from the fresh/new onion's stem. What is on your lángos: schnidling. That is a special version of onion, that is grown for its stem, and doesn't have a root that could be eaten.
In English it is called red onion 😉 and the green onion would be chives. Thanks for watching!
@@HungryTwoTravel yeah, and English naming sucks on this.
You have an onion, that is purple -> you call it red onion
There is also an onion that has red shell and the internals are greenish-white -> you call it white onion (we call it red onion, makes more sense)
There is also another onion, that has white shell, completely white internals -> you call it sweet onion (although it can be quite scathing as the red onion) - we call it white.
So who is wrong on this?
Miről ismerkszik meg a vidám motoros?
- Tele van a fogai köze muslincával -
- Te! Nem mákosrétest evett inkább? -
