It took around 80 seconds to 60mph - slower than the 75mph version I timed a few months ago.

      @@SolomonClarkeTrains-nw1sf for sure.
But it takes 21 seconds to reach from 50mph to 60mph. Which is the same as a 12 car 700. Again not sure why swr didnt plan for traction mods to enable some better performance at least.
But as i was saying they likely have a much higher gear ratio than the max speed so if they didnt increase power uptake with a higher gear ratio then thats likely the reason for the reduction in acceleration occured. Rail forums sort of brang it up with the 460s gear ratio, and when you listen to the sound it takes a long time to hit speed.
Apparently theres efficiency gain when the ratio is higher , but something tells me it just depends on the motors RPM too paired with the gear ratio too. Outside of that, the traction control likely keeps the power at the same uptake as it was in the /5 set up. So theres that. Lets hope the acceleration based on the gear ratio actually allows for decent sustainability at higher speeds.

The deacceleration right at the end goes on for longer similar to the old class 458/0 where as the 458/5s was shorter probably has something to do with them only being 4 cars again and not 5?

@@blockvidsmore5316 higher ened gear ratio means it sounds longer ..or takes longeem the 458/4s have a spread out gear ratio to hit over 100mph. But are limited to 100mph.
Class 458/5s are geared down to like 85mph but can only hit 75mph in service, they have lower end gear ratios and this the traction sounds goes up and down faster in pitch. As it accelerates and deccelerates.
