QUESTION QUESTION If it's a design that we've made. Or if we made adjustments on a design. How does it know which things we want to have punched out?? I hope this makes sense or that u understand my question. Like for example the svg filed are letters and can be detected. Buy if it's an intricate design how will it know what needs punching? And can we manually add a punch somewhere that wasn't selected to be punched. ? Or can we edited the punches that are made prior to having it be sent to cut?
Greetings from Panama, Excellent helpful video, but this is the second video that I saw on how this tool works and for me is more like a gimmick device! Make the punch process is more time to finish the cut process and I can not even see the holes so for me this tool it is not necessary. Just buy a good LED light box and always cut with a sharp blade. Extremely important: Have spare blades and do a TEST CUT!
Good afternoon Becky. I’m just getting started with these various crafts. I have purchased the Design Bundle and have downloaded the free version of Silhouette. I’m having issues with Silhouette not responding well when trying to create a pattern. Is this something you have heard of or seen? Thank you in advance for any help. BTW I’ve been watching all your videos. I have learned so much. 😊
Hey Tonitte! I would say yes, anytime I'm using a pattern or clipart that is a larger size, my program will stall out and I just give it time to catch-up. From what I understand, a lot of that has to do with your computer's available RAM and also the graphic card. Hope this helps! ---Becky
I want to create an oval shape invitation to be printed on a clear silhouette adhesive paper to place on a mirror. I don’t know which program to use to bring writing into silhouette business program on my Mac? Can you guide me in how to accomplish this project? Thank you very much your tips and tricks are amazing thank you for sharing them
Hey Daisy! Do you mean bring in an image like handwriting? If so, I would say scan it on your scanner or take a photo of it with your phone, just try to get it as clear as possible. Then you can trace it in Silhouette Studio so that you have a clear file, just fill it with black and print away. Hope this helps! ---Becky

THERES ON 20 COMMENTS ON HERE AND I CANT EVEN GET MY QUESTION ANSWERED, BUT JUST A LIKE,...CAN ANYONE PLEASE ANSWER THIS IF YOU KNOW. ARE YOU ABLE TO EDIT THE PUNCHES PRIOR TO IT BEING PUNCHED. IF IT EITHER MISSED A PUNCH PLACEMENT THAT WAS NEEDED OR IF IT PUTS ONE WHERE U DIDNT WANT IT. COULD IT BE MANUELLY EDITED, REMOVED, OR ADDED IN??? T. I.A
It would seem to me if your cutting paths are closed the punches will go everywhere in that path given you have placed a box around your design. And outside the path if not. It should not matter if you did the design or not, it is using the cut lines to determine. I do not see how there could be any error with that- if you are wanting to have a mixed effect you would weld or subtract the cut in those places before sending.. the control of the punch will always be based on your design and how it's constructed.
@@FC-kw4mw so welding 2 pieces together would be considered as one. So how would it determine whether or not u want that piece cut or not.? I guess it depends on the preview beforehand on what I'd want. I know it isnt making too much sense about what I'm asking I'd have to show I an example probably of why I'm asking. But thank you anyway. That helps :)
@@oclove1503 yes it's a bit difficult to know exactly what you mean but I think ultimately you could group your design into layers and use the "layer" selection of the send panel. So you could separate the part you want punched and cut on to one layer, add a pause, take out the puncher, then resume the rest of the design which would consist of the half of the design you did not want punches. As far as welding I only do it for overlaps on shapes to unite them but say if I'm doing an etch and I want the text to be a part of the "etched" area but not etched I select the part to be etched and the text placed over that area and I "subtract"- it will make my texts a negative of the etched and have it be one piece- this would translate to the machine to avoid the text space so I'm thinking that's how the punch would also work- sorry if that is confusing but good luck!

Maybe get a cheap light pad on amazon to put underneath. Still learning a lot from your videos. Thank you💗😊
With that kind of tip can you engrave on 2mm plexiglass or thin wood?
I am wondering if the smaller machine works a lot better than the 24"

Y did u use the ratchet blade and not the auto blade?
Hey Allana, it's a personal preference, I have better success with the Ratchet blade. Hope this helps! ---Becky
@@DesignBundles thanks for the info
Have you tried using the crafting blade3mm instead?
How do we get our questions answered I requested two questions and nobody has responded
Hi Linda, I'm sorry! We try to get through as many comments as possible each day. I will look for your other comments.
Seriously?! How demanding. Unbelievable.
I just think a ink pen in the punch hole would make it 10 times easier to see.
Good point!

I can't see those holes either
Perhaps light green was not the best way to see them ? I wonder if a darker color is best ?
