I love the contact/transfer paper hack to keep the mat clean. I cut felt for the back of mosaic tiles and it ruined my mat so I love this idea. Thank you 😊
You already know this, but youre incredible. I love your explanations. I love you voice, and you have a way of calming me down when I cant figure this stuff out. I decided to buy a rotary blade to "attempt" a project... 2 things... -For some reason every time I tried to test cut it would shut my software down. I ended up just cutting straight away after the 3rd shut down. -What's the difference between rotary cut and rotary cut edge? I'm looking at the images and can't tell how it would affect the cut.
I couldn't be happier. I am sooooo appreciative of you Becky. You are the best, but of course, there is also Jamie! hahaha I think I've told her that she is the best also! Love you both.
I have a question about the felt. Do you stabilize the back of your felt first with a product such as Heat and Bond ? I think this was done on fabric to be cut on the Cameo. Another question. Is there a blade adapter for the Cameo 5 ? I just received mine. I upgraded from a Cameo 3. I have so many blades for the 3...rotary, fabric etc. all unopened. I sure would love to use them. Thanks you 🙂
Ugh. I bought the Curio years back specifically to work with thicker/different materials. I'm SO disappointed that they didn't make a rotary blade for the Curio. 😭

Thank you for sharing the information on the rotary blade. Questions: Do I need to remove the autoblade first? Also, my rotary blade doesn’t seem to seat down into carriage 2. Is that normal? I appreciate you showing the settings before sending. Is there anything else we need to do to let the machine know we are using carriage 2?
I tried taking the autoblade out if carriage one, but the machine still wants to use it. It will not let me send a job unless I have an action/tool set for carriage 1. I don’t have anything to show where to select carriage 2 when I need to send the job.
If you are using the second carriage, you do not need to remove your blade from the first one. When you go to cut you will want to make sure carriage 1 is on a no cut setting and then you can select carriage 2 to cut!
@@LAKatKreations When you are under your send menu there should be a No cut, Cut, or cut edge option for carriage 1, you will want to click "no cut" this will prevent it from using carriage 1. Carriage 2 is right below, you may need to click the arrow for it to drop down, but then you can select "cut" for carriage 2 to work. If you still have any questions you can always reach out to customer support at mail@designbundles.net and they will be happy to help!
@@DesignBundles thank you for your response! That’s actually what I ended up doing, and I even had to click on every piece and click on /no cut/ for carriage one. I was surprised I had to do that because I would have thought you could select which tool you wanted to use, and that would be it. My rotary cutter also cut circles inside my fabric. 😬
@@LAKatKreations I believe that is supposed to happen when using a rotary blade. The blade needs to make small turn lines in the negative spaces to reposition itself - www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/11/silhouette-rotary-blade-how-to-turn-off.html?fbclid=IwAR0leni7ojQwp-t61Q7rurlcQObAFHUyON71odzGFASDcEQ37yTCds0FFR0
I’ve tried doing a couple different flowers, very much like the one you’ve cut, and each time the loops are partially in the design itself and it cuts right through the design. Is there anyway to move the loops or is this something that is there because of how it’s the designed?
Hmm, that would be frustrating Jill. I would double-click your design to access the point-editing, and see if you have any red dots to indicate a broken path. If the design is complete, the software should know that and not put the little loops inside the design. Hope this helps! ---Becky
@@DesignBundles Thank you for the suggestion. I finally figured it out and it was that I had not updated my software. There must have been some sort of fix in one of the updates because the design hooks and loops were placed correctly on the outside of the simple design once I updated. I was beyond happy and I learned how important it was to keep up to date.
Hey Jo, I actually roll my flowers backwards, I always have and can't seem to break the habit. I think you can roll *most* flowers either way, but there are some designs that will get wider towards the outside that will look strange if not rolled correctly. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hi Becky. I'm trying to cut a felt flower and my cameo 4 does not connect to Carriage 2. I have all the setting correct. I have the rotary blade in carriage 2 but when I send to cut, a pop up tells me my material is not compatible in carriage 1. But I minimized carriage one and opened carriage 2, made my settings for felt and the flower pieces remain red when they should be blue. Can you help me? I have cut things in carriage 1 before but never in carriage 2. I just got my rotary blade. Thanks.
Our apologies for the delay in response and we hope you've found the answer but if you are still having any troubles, please feel free to write in to mail@designbundles.net or join us in a live chat so we can help with your next project! - Brittany
I am trying to cut a design in faux letter will it cut with the cameo 4? i tried to cut it out and it had abunch of little lines around the desgin and was cutting those out. help thanks
Hey Emina, what extra lines do you mean? The alignment lines for your rotary blade? You'll need to leave those on for the blade to work correctly. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Thank you for the video. It seems like a waste to use transfer tape every time you want to cut a flower. I also believe that you rolled your flower backward. it is my understanding from watching other people and making them myself that the part you started with is meant to be glued to the backside of the flower to hold it together.
Hallo Becky, before I throw this thing out of the Window, can you p l e a s e help me with this message REGISTRATION FAILED. I have tried almost everthing in the world but it keeps giving me that stupid message, so at the moment i cant do anything.... (sad)
Hey there! Sorry to hear your frustrations! Are you trying to use the Print and Cut feature? If not, you can just turn off your Registration Marks (Page Setup Panel) and that error should go away. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Great tutorial that now makes me want to try my rotary blade! What about cutting wool felt? I’m wondering why that’s not an option in the materials list, and that’s what I have.

Hello, please help me! My programme doesn’t allow me to chose rotary cut or rotary cut edge on the screen after I chose tool 2. It does detect the rotary blade.

oh the contact paper tip is brilliant. the way felt ruins mats is what's been keeping me from cutting a lot of felt!

I am trying to cut felt eyes with lashes the lashes aren’t completely cutting do I increase the force or cut with 2 passes
Thank you Becky!

What blade would you use for those craft foam sheets?
Have you considered using the Cricut Fabric Grip Mat?

Can you use the rotary blade to cut vinyl ?
I suppose you can, but I haven't tried. Since it's a more expensive blade, I hoard it away to extend it's life expectancy. Hope this helps! ---Becky
