I bought the same blade combo as the one you link to from Amazon. Thanks for the deep dive into the details. The flange on the one I received is a very tight fit in the plastic adapter and there's a bit of a gap when the adapter is squeezed shut. The combo fits too tightly into the machine for my taste, so I'm returning it. The quality control is obviously not very good for these. It sounds like I'll need to buy until I get one that's properly machined.
Looking at the reviews, the tolerances on this item are indeed hit and miss. I decided to try and shave the diameter a bit using a drill press. I could get the knurled aluminum knob to fit in the drill press chuck. With the part spinning, I used the side of a fine flat file to shave a little metal from the lower section and from the flange. I managed to get it so the fit is snug, but not tight. It doesn't drop in like an OEM blade, but fits and will lock in place. I hope the blades and plastic cap aren't also problematic.
My CBO9 arrived yesterday. Works perfectly in Portrait 3 with blue adapter. I put ruler on holder which available as pdf in Internet and it's very useful. But i guess i will buy more holders just ti have different angle blades in different holders. I test cutting paper, rather intricate design and it cuts much much better then autoblade.

@@Nekoandpiano i chose cut but when i inserted the adapter with cb09 blade, the software is reading the blue adapter as pen. there's nothing in the tool to choose from except pen.
Thanks for the setup info-the blue adapter that came with my Cameo 4 looks just like that, but it says it is for sketch pens. When I insert it, Sketch Pen shows up as the pen loaded. It says the black is for the ratchet blade, should I use that? Or the gray adapter, says it is for deep cut blades.
You can try the black blade adapter, from my experience it wasn't big enough for the CB09 blade. The blue one will default to the sketch file settings but you can change the settings in the second drop down box to cutting.
They originally came with the cameo 4 machines, I’m not sure if they do anymore or not. They appear to be out of stock everywhere that I know to look. Either try shortening the blade length or don't fully insert the blade into the housing.

how deep can they cut? and which blade angle would be needed to cut thick 2mm chipboard?

It should work just the same -- I don't own any of the new machines, so I can't try it out to be certain.
hi, does changing my blade depth still affects the cb09 with adapter to my cameo 4?

In theory but I would be very careful doing so -- the Cameo 4 only has a 3 mm clearance, so between the 2mm foam & the mat there isn't a lot of room.
