    Hi how do you adjust blade fro different materials? do you have to take blade out and adjust or does the software do it like the standard blade?

    • @MissMaryEmbroidery
      @MissMaryEmbroidery  3 года назад

      The blades you will have to manually adjust. What I did was set up a different one for each material I wanted to cut -- so I have one for Glitter HTV, Adhesive, & Paper & anything else I use a ratchet blade. If you didn't want to do that you would have to come up with some kind of marking system. You can google "CB09 numbers" and somebody has made a numbers you can tape on to the blade. But I think that is all a bit annoying, so that's why I just set them up as single material blades!!

    Thanks for the video! Would like to ask what blade (angle) should I use to cut Glitter Cardstocks (250 gsm)? Thanks!

      I normally just use the 45 blade for everything - I don’t think I’ve ever really used the other angle blades!!

    Thanks for your great videos on the cb09 blade. I was wondering if one if the angled blades can cut up to 2mm? I know the silhouette deep cut blade cuts up to 2mm, but just want to save on some extra bucks if the cb09 can do the job so I don’t need to purchase the silhouette deep cut blade. Thanks again!

      Honestly I have no idea, my deep cut blade is still sitting in the package it came in! It seems like the CB09 blades should be able to cut 2mm but that's a guess.

    The blades are 30/45/60 Degrees what material are each of the blades used for?

    • @MissMaryEmbroidery
      @MissMaryEmbroidery  5 месяцев назад

      So in theory a 30 degree blade would be used on a thicker material & the 60 would be used on a lighter more delicate material. In reality I have only used the 45 degree blades! I mainly use the blades to cut vinyl or glitter HTV.

    I'm super confused. The blade I received (from Amazon Canada) looks identical, but It was very difficult to put in, the fully extended blade only comes out 2mm and it adjusts via the black cap...not the silver...

    • @MissMaryEmbroidery
      @MissMaryEmbroidery  2 года назад

      Yes, they are a tight fit for all the machine. Have you put the spring into the blade housing? Screwed the cap all the way down? It should adjust at the silver. Also the blade doesn't need to come out that far, the cameo 1 & 2, only has a 1 mm clearance & your blade would need to come out much less than 1 mm to not damage the machine.

    Thank you for this video and the next:-)
    Would it be possible to make a video on cutting thick glitter cardstock with the Graphtec Blade?
    I would like to know which angle blade would be best,
    THank you!

      I would recommend a 45 degree for normal cutting & a 60 if you have a really detailed design. I have had like zero luck cutting paper!!! I was going to make my own Christmas cards last year, I got so frustrated, I threw it all away!!

      @@MissMaryEmbroidery I came here hoping you had an answer for why I was having trouble with the 60 degree blade. I'm very sad no one else has had any luck with cutting paper too.

    • @MissMaryEmbroidery
      @MissMaryEmbroidery  4 года назад +1

      @@destinedluxx3941 So Paper is one of the more tricky things to cut with the machines, because they vary in make up so much. I would try the 45 degree blade, and slow down your machine. Then you can adjust the force to get the cut you want & make a custom setting for it. To get a good cut, it's just going to take more effort.

      @@MissMaryEmbroidery thank you so much the 45 degree angle worked so much better I didn’t realize I was using a 60 degree angle the first time.

    Do you know if this works in the silhouette curio?

    • @MissMaryEmbroidery
      @MissMaryEmbroidery  6 лет назад

      Yes it works in the Curio! The same way, you would have to take the knob off and then put the holder in.

    None of my blade is sticking out when I put it back together again. What am I doing wrong, there are only three parts Right?

    • @MissMaryEmbroidery
      @MissMaryEmbroidery  6 лет назад

      You will need to turn the dial at the end to get the blade to come out--I do this at 2:15 in the video. You will have to turn it more than it seems like you should, but that's how you get the blade to move.

    Actually you may be interested to know using the cb09 blade holder or none silhouette brand components can NOT void warranty under federal law. Magnusson Miss warranty act, specifically prohibits companies from their warranties being contingent on using their brands.

    • @MissMaryEmbroidery
      @MissMaryEmbroidery  6 лет назад

      Well I looked this up & you are indeed correct! The only way they can decline the warranty is if the non-silhouette brand part was the direct reason for the machine to break. Granted it seems that Silhouette's warranty isn't the best, so I'm not sure it's worth using!!
