I moved to Hollywood when I was 19. I got to see a showing of the first Star Wars movie at at the Cinamadome on Sunset Blvd., this was in the early 90's! That was a perfect day. Thanks Adam. Jedi mind trick: Repeat after me: "The comment is over!" (PS: This was very cool.)

The Pop-Corn you ate was made with butter and it totals out to 1080 calories. Where it says (no butter) means that it’ll stay at 1080 calories as long as you don’t add your own butter at the counter. I know it seems confusing because it says (no butter) while there’s clearly butter in the pop-corn, but it just means that the calorie total will stay the same if you avoid adding in additional butter. AMC makes all their pop-corn together and doesn’t have a no-butter option.
It makes me happy to see those beautiful yellow canna lily flowers in their full glory along the canal! They bloomed even sooner than I predicted! Awesome! 🙂
A very interesting vlog. I remember when the original Star Wars came out it was the first time we had to stand in a line for a movie. No one knew what this movie was about - there wasn’t really movie advertise on tv. It was mind blowing - something new and exciting. Something we had ever seen. I feel it took cinema into a new direction. It made the studios step it up.
I was 13 when Start Wars was released to the theaters in 1977. My memories of that time were my parents' divorce and sitting in fuel lines to put gas in the car each week. The depression took its toll on families all across the nation. Even though the adults never drug us into the politics of the day, the depression hung over our homes and lives like a dark cloud. My brother and I delivered 600 papers per day to have money for clothes for school and help with bills. Then, in June of 1977 came summer break from school and Star Wars. It gave all kids and their families a chance to go to places where people fought back against the darkness in their lives. It gave us hope that even though things looked bleak, we weren't alone in the battle. We bonded with Han, Luke, and Lea as friends in the struggle with us. In June of 1980, the Empire Strikes Back was released. With it came the hope that our heroes in the movie were turning things around and would be by our side in the battles ahead. In May of 1983, Return of the Jedi released just as the stresses of the depression had cleared and prosperity had come back to our lives. In the end, we all won against our enemies. The prequels were good, but they lacked the friends we fought beside in the first three movies and focused on less hope and more political divide. Fast forward to 2015, and our friends were supposed to join us again in The Force Awakens. As they came back on the screen, they looked just like us, older, weaker, but wiser. Unfortunately, JJ Abrams and Michael Arndt decided to give minimal screen time to each of them. He gave Harrison Ford the death of Han and gave the original viewers a moment we could understand in our current age. We would give our lives for our children. Carrie Fisher asked for less screen time in The Force Awakens as she was just not ready for the stresses of acting again. By the end of The Force Awakens we finally saw our friend Luke Skywalker. Like many of us, he was torn by the mistakes he had made in life and no longer saw how the world still needed him. On to Episode 8 The Last Jedi. We spend much of the movie focused on Rey trying to convince Luke how much he is still needed. This is a common theme for men as we reach 60 years old. We find ourselves divorced and alone. We find some of our kids struggling with the separation of their parents. In turn, these kids rebel. My son passed away from this rebellion. Going to an island and disappearing from the guilt and grief is something I wanted to do, but I did not possess an Xwing. In time, I learned that those left around me needed to learn from the wisdom of my years. My years of fighting through strength were behind me, but my wisdom heald value. As Yoda stated in Episode 8, " We are what they grow beyond, that is the burden of all masters." Episode 9 was a mess because it focused on nothing the common person could resonate with. The most talked about scene in the movie was when Han appeared to Ben. This scene was taken from Colin Trevorrow's original script for Episode 9 and struck with most of us that were children in the theater for Star Wars 1977.
The biggest perk of seeing this in the theater now is to hear the 20th Century Fox theme with the Star Wars theme. I never heard any complaints about Ewoks until it apparently became cool to bash them in the internet age.
Hey, it's Co-D! Reese's Pieces are the ultimate selection. :) Movie theater popcorn is popped in oil along with salt, both of which generally have a yellow to orange color and give most of the corn a yellow tint and flavor. The popcorn is only "buttered" (with the "butter" pump) after popping if requested by the patron.
I’m with you on that one.. Return of the Jedi.. was the first one I saw in the cinema in 1983.. I still have the ticket.. It jump started everything for me.. Collecting all Star Wars vintage toys.. I still have the full collection today 😊
loved that nostalgic journey!! love that you had them in a box, just like we all did when we were kids. Have the old VHS's too, where the stormtrooper from a New Hope bonks his head
Hey Adam! I’m watching your vlog as I write this, why a duck? LOL Back to SW. I saw all three OG episodes in Los Angeles in 70mm at top flight theaters. But my experience in this adventure begins in 1977 when I moved to L.A. to go to USC for film school. I saw SW in August of 77 when I arrived. Later in the fall school started. Early in the semester maybe in October a notice was posted in the DKA office (cinema Fraternity). That a Cinema Alum was going to visit with his most recent film for a screening and Q&A after the screening. It was to be kept secret and only one ticket per student. Needless to say I got my ticket and went to one of my most memorable days of my time at school. The secret was kept, the show started with said alums’ USC filmography. The coolest part was the 16mm student presentation of THX, the matte opened to the 70mm width and on the cut the story continued on the feature. Then American Graffiti then the iconic fanfare and the feature presentation began. Yes our Norris Theater was capable of 70mm Dolby in 77. What a way to start my last two years of college, got my BA in Cinema/TV Production. Awesome video Adam, nostalgia deluxe.
I just turned 46 myself. I grew up with the original trilogy and saw the prequel‘s in my 20s. I myself own a great number of Star Wars vintage Kenner play sets and Star Wars figures. I have a small room I display them all in. That should be a video series for you. Hunting down the original playsets and figures. Whatever city you’re in at the time.
Adam, watching this video and showing your Star Wars collection, brought back so many memories of a Long Long Time Ago, on May 25, 1977 on my 8th Bday my parents took me the see Star Wars at a drive in theater. Only two of the films were released on my birthday (A New Hope and Return of the Jedi) and I’m proud of it 😎
On may 25th 1983 it was my 13th birthday. We were on family vacation driving from Seattle to Anaheim to go to Disneyland. We were in transit and in Eugene Oregon and staying at a Red Lion hotel. Me and my big sister went to the Eugene mall to watch Return of the Jedi on its opening day. It was awesome!
YESSSS DUDE Return of the Jedi is back!! I got stuck working last night so I’m heading out later to see it.. Jedi is definitely my favorite as well. Very cool seeing your vintage figure collection, I started picking up specifically Jabba’s palace related figures to fill up my display. NEED to get the Rancor, he looks so cool!! To answer your question as to why Luke doesn’t have the black glove in that Gentle Giant statue is because it’s from the sail barge scene, you can tell cause he’s wearing the black tunic without the belt (very specific nerd fact I know haha)
at the theatre that i worked at the "butter" was actually flavored coconut oil and sometimes soybean oil depending on what the distributor sent us but normally we received coconut oil. their has to be a little oil for the popcorn to pop in the popper no matter what though.
After rewatching Return of the Jedi last night at a nearby theatre, I left feeling a mixture of exhilaration, anger, and sadness. I was exhilarated to re-watch the movie again on the big screen and being taken back to so much of my childhood and young adulthood. I was angry at Disney for what they have done to Star Wars; wasting the only chance to being Luke, Han, and Leia together again, turning Han into a deadbeat Dad, and ignoring Luke Skywalker and replacing him with Jake Skywalker. I was sad because the way we felt about Star Wars for so many decades, will never be felt by the generations again
I'm older so when I was a kid I saw the original 1977 movie in the theater the first weekend it came out because I was a Sci-Fi geek and it blew my mind how great it was! I read articles about it before it came out in starlog magazine and it had one photograph of them sitting in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon and it looked like some cheesy low-budget movie so seeing in the theater for the first time not knowing how good it was going to be was amazing!
In 97 my sister and I saw the Trilogy at a local theater. Back to back to back. It was awesome! The money for the tickets went to charity. We also got a small popcorn.
Luke only started wearing the glove after the Han rescue, so he's obviously striking a quick pose for the sculptor during the big battle. On that note, that whole sequence where Luke's on the plank edge, salutes R2, who then ejects the lightsaber to him is still by far my favourite scene in any film ever. No cinema moment has beaten that moment my 8 year old self had in 1983. Thanks for sharing your love of Jedi, we are in absolute agreement on all counts. Yub Nub.
Going tonight with the family, only found out two days ago looking for what was currently in theaters, absolutely no advertising. I saw it 40 years ago in Shinjuku Japan, which is like Tokyo’s theater district. I was stationed at the Naval Hospital In Yokosuka and my roommate Ed and I took the train too see it in one of the big theaters there.
The original theatrical releases on disc 2 are the laserdisc versions. When the Star Wars Definitive Collection laserdisc set was marketed, it was heavily advertised as being the last time they would be available on home video. So, even releasing the laserdisc transfer on DVD was lucky.
I remember seeing Return of the Jedi @ Leicester Square Odeon in London when it was released. They showed “A New Hope”, “Empire Strikes Back” and then “Return of the Jedi”, it was amazing! I was only 5 years old. I’ve never seen the “Re-Mastered” versions.
I always called the AT-ST the “Scout Walker.” I think I got that from the Kenner toy. Also, I call the Scout Troopers “Biker Scouts” again because of the toy.
Before the 1-3 Star Wars movies came out we were fortunate to see the Original 3 movies. And take our kids to see it on the 70mm screen. So they got to appreciate how they were seen when they first came out. It was great. The place closed in1998.
My dad surprised me and my brother with ROTJ tickets on opening day. The theater was packed. My brother and I sat in the front row and my parents found seats in the back. One of my favorite star wars memories when I was a kid (I was 12 when it came out.) And yes, I too miss the "Yub Nub" from the original version.
ROTJ was the first Star Wars movie that I saw. Changed my life. I remember waiting in line with hundreds of people at the Empire Mall in Sioux Falls South Dakota (Yes, the actual mall is still named the Empire Mall). There was a t-shirt on sale behind the concession stand with the speeder bikes and the Biker Scouts on it. So if calling the movie, "Jedi..." is confusing, maybe we should just refer to it as, "Blue Harvest." Deep trivia there.
HEY ATW...TODAY'S EPISODE WAS 40 YEARS IN THE MAKING!! I enjoyed this vlog so much. You know how I feel about STAR WARS!!?!! Your collection is pretty extensive. You're no Steve Sansweet, but you do have a pretty good assembly of toys. I have a Jabba the Hutt playset from 1983, still in the box! Man, I sure would have been filling my drawers to sit and watch ROTJ with you guys! How awesome is that?
OH MY GOD YES, that scene from Mandalorian, I was home alone thank God cause I screamed so loud I'm sure I was heard within a 2 block radius. This is the way!
I was born a year after Jedi and when they released the special editions in the theaters in the late 90s I thought it was awesome to be able to experience my favorite trilogy in the big screen despite the enhancements Lucas made. Wish there was theaters around me showing the movie!
The only way to watch Star Wars in on the big screen. It takes the epic film to a higher level! I would love to see the original 3 episodes in the theater again!
Great video . I also grew up in the 1980s Great decade. I remember watching Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi in the movie theaters when they came out in the 80s.
To make the original versions that I grew up with what is the syndicated television movie of the week version with the OXY special effects I would really love to see those again
I am only 5 mins in and had to come say thank you. I was dumped week and half ago and im dusting myself off and working but im watching n so stoked. ❤ 1. I love squirrels and i love that u show them HAHA!!!!!😂 but i adore watching crows and laughing. And holy heck !! 😂he swooped in IN YER SHOT 😂 took a bath and laughed ❤ amazing. 🎉thank you!!! 😍🙏🏼💕🐾 … and back to your regularly scheduled jedi vloggjn ..
Good that you have the Ewok Village box. The one I have in the Game Room I got for a birthday gift back in ‘83. It was put on layaway (remember that?!) which built up the excitement for several months. I played the heck outta that thing!
That 40th poster is by Matt Ferguson, who also did the Empire 40th poster. He's got a ton of stuff on his site you'd love like a bunch of Carpenter stuff, the original animated Transformers movie, and The Evil Dead.
I was there 2 weeks ago to watch (IN theatre #13) the Mario Brothers Movie with my daughter who was visiting from Cali. Had a BLAST! BTW, I have BOTH The VHS and DVD versions of the Original Trilogy too!
While everyone was in line to see Star Wars "A New Hope", my mother was having me! So Star Wars will always have a special place in my heart. Lol #FellowStarWarsDieHard '77 kid 😊
Love your memorabilia of Star Wars you have quite the collection now when you said you were going to the theater to see Return of the Jedi for some reason I thought of the time you rented a theater and you were the only one in there to watch one of your favorite movies Back to the Future and now the theater experience once again with another one of your favorite movies Return of the Jedi how cool is that but to bad that the theater in Celebration isn’t open so you could have experienced it there because I know for you it would have been that much more special maybe one day they’ll get that theater open now I look forward to seeing you at Star Wars Day in the park and I know it’ll be one heck of a good time now with that peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Adam and I’ll see you on the next awesome Adam the daily woo adventure peace ☮️ out ✌️
46 and I love collecting the toys. Just started again... When I was a kid the army lost all my original ones when my mom divorced my dad. 100% I was abusing them though. Remember specifically changing heads and supergluing gi joe bottoms on hacksawed-in-half Kenner originals. I was a destructive creative type.
I went to see Rocky when it was first released to theaters with my old girlfriend, her twin sister and her boyfriend. I had not seen or heard anything about Start Wars. When the coming attraction preview before Rocky played the Star Wars trailer, I knew right then and there that my girlfriend and I were not compatible.🤣🤣 We broke up not long after. I have only seen Rocky that one time and have never seen any of its sequels. But, Star Wars (and its sequels) will be forever in my life. And in my 33 year old son's life, too.
Great video ATW. I’m seeing ROTJ this weekend. I’m glad you finally showed your Ewok Village although you really need to set it up. You need to pick up the new ROTJ Retro Collection figures. Proper nostalgic.😉👍
HEY ATW...IT IS SO COOL TO SEE CODY AFTER ALL THIS TIME! He was one of the funniest and energetic Collabs to do a Woo ride-along! Did you confirm that Luke is wearing a BLACK Jedi Robe when he enters Jabba's palace!?!! Im so glad you bought a black robe at Galaxy's Edge to go with your ROTJ lightsaber!
I thought I was alone in my liking of the originals! Those are the ones I own-I can hardly watch the ones on Disney plus. I don’t hate the new ones-but I’m glad I have my originals 😊

Was awesome to see ROTJ in the theatre , the crowd reaction was great . Wish it had been the original version and not the remastered but still an amazing experience . No Yub Nub for those going to see it
Dude I was there last night, theatre was packed. The reaction from the crowd with the Luke-Lea sibling revelation was hilarious, especially when Han found out.
This film were the emperor force sensitive himself to a other clone body.

Good video Adam, to bad we couldn't of watched w u?lol😊
I just read that the holy land is being demolished now.
i remember in the 80s when it first came out in theaters .A lot of people including myself thought it was the coolest thing to see watching the return of the Jedi . i remember my parents buying the drinking glasses of return of the jedi . the days when life was more simple
I was 10 years old when I saw Jedi in the theaters! All my friends were so jealous of me and we played Star Wars for days!

I hate the Ewoks

Always a good time

That’s makes sense actually . Didn’t think about that
Jedi is my favorite too. I have that VHS box set too! One of my prize possessions. Lots of fun watching this.
My dad raised me on star wars so this was really cool to watch! Thank you Adam!
"Return of the Jedi" is my favorite Star Wars movie, too! Princess Leia was so badass when she strangled Jabba! #RIPCarrieFisher

Well said . A lot of your feelings are felt by many
Massive eyeroll.
If you really want to see them again, read Battle Of Jakku comic this October.
I moved to Hollywood when I was 19. I got to see a showing of the first Star Wars movie at at the Cinamadome on Sunset Blvd., this was in the early 90's! That was a perfect day.
Thanks Adam. Jedi mind trick: Repeat after me: "The comment is over!"
(PS: This was very cool.)
May The 4th be with you" is Kreepn In Soon too..Morning Woo
That poster is really Rad..cool of you to show your collection

Awesome video. Took me back to my childhood and showed me that I need to make some changes in my life to have some more fun.
Saw Return of the Jedi last night. Never gets old.
ROTJ is my favorite SW movie. The dueling battle lightsaber scene of father and son, and that music score, yeah! very emotional...
I always called the AT-ST the “Scout Walker.” I think I got that from the Kenner toy. Also, I call the Scout Troopers “Biker Scouts” again because of the toy.
Ahh that makes total sense
I love AT-AT
Glad you got to see Star Wars & have a nice evening out. Was nice to meet Coty.
Before the 1-3 Star Wars movies came out we were fortunate to see the Original 3 movies. And take our kids to see it on the 70mm screen. So they got to appreciate how they were seen when they first came out. It was great. The place closed in1998.
This was the greatest vlog I love the original Star Wars films as well
I saw it in the theater when I was 8. It’s always been my favorite Star Wars movie.
When I was a kid we call the AT-AS simply a Scout Walker. Nice video!
I love what you showed òf your home Adam
ROTJ was the first Star Wars movie that I saw. Changed my life. I remember waiting in line with hundreds of people at the Empire Mall in Sioux Falls South Dakota (Yes, the actual mall is still named the Empire Mall). There was a t-shirt on sale behind the concession stand with the speeder bikes and the Biker Scouts on it. So if calling the movie, "Jedi..." is confusing, maybe we should just refer to it as, "Blue Harvest."
Deep trivia there.
"You don't know the power of the duck side..." 🤣🤣🤣
Yay! Cody and Adam are back together! We need more of these.
The only way to watch Star Wars in on the big screen. It takes the epic film to a higher level! I would love to see the original 3 episodes in the theater again!
Just saw New Hope on T.V. Sure brings back memories thanks Adam
It was great seeing kodi he should be in more adventures.
cody
Return of the Jedi is 40 years old, man I feel old.
Lol #FellowStarWarsDieHard
'77 kid 😊
Nothing like the Original Trilogy. I have never seen the Original 3 at theater that would be awesome. Nice! Have a good time Woo.
Love to se a couple of friends enjoying each other’s company
Love your memorabilia of Star Wars you have quite the collection now when you said you were going to the theater to see Return of the Jedi for some reason I thought of the time you rented a theater and you were the only one in there to watch one of your favorite movies Back to the Future and now the theater experience once again with another one of your favorite movies Return of the Jedi how cool is that but to bad that the theater in Celebration isn’t open so you could have experienced it there because I know for you it would have been that much more special maybe one day they’ll get that theater open now I look forward to seeing you at Star Wars Day in the park and I know it’ll be one heck of a good time now with that peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Adam and I’ll see you on the next awesome Adam the daily woo adventure peace ☮️ out ✌️
I have such great memories playing Lego Star Wars with my son on the PS2.
You are great this like all the videos are awesome
That is one of favorite Star Wars movie Return Of The Jedi is a great movie.
Return of the Jedi is also my favorite Star Wars movie. Love the Ewoks as well and their two movies.
I love the Ewoks❤ Kids-memory from the past🙌🏻
Thank you Adam taking us to your night event to the movie theatre Return of the Jedi ! 🎭🍿😊
Omg I have that exact Ewok village !!!!!!!!!! I love it !!!!!!!!
I remember going to see Star Wars at the drive in, when I was a kid. lol
The Scene when R2 shoots Luke's lightsabre into the air, and he catches it. Is my childhood!
I had the lite saber *spelling* as a kid in 1983 ..big piece of plastic that was a glow in the dark ...ahhh, memories.. Thxnn yiu Adam 🌄🐻🏞️
That was me waving @34:53. I thought that was you but i didn't see what row you went too.
You have quite a good collection!
Saw ROTJ yesterday too. Awesome to see on the big screen.
Great video ATW. I’m seeing ROTJ this weekend. I’m glad you finally showed your Ewok Village although you really need to set it up. You need to pick up the new ROTJ Retro Collection figures. Proper nostalgic.😉👍
The 3rd hand feeding you popcorn 😂
I still have some merchandise my parents bought me of that movie on the 80s like the Rancor or a AT-ST
Yes definitely I was seven years old at a drive-in movie theater can’t wait to see it again in our new theater 40 years later🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’ve got the original LaserDisc versions of the first 3.
Hi Adam. Great video. My wife who works at Hallmark says they sell Star Wars stuff.
Amc has to get on the ball about cleaning that place. I did immediately look to see if our Amc was playing Jedi. And yes!!
hello Adam , very interesting video , well done and thank you 😊
Hey Adam , Have you ever done a filming location for the Heavenly Kid? I just watched it, and saw the escalator you were on in Georgia. 🌴🌺
In 1983 I was 23 and in that galaxy far away no that was the old galaxy 500 yellow 4 door ran like a champ
I remember I had a birthday party and we went to see Return of the Jedi….👍🏻
I saw Return of the Jedi when I was 4 or 5 years old in the philippines 1983.
I thought I was alone in my liking of the originals! Those are the ones I own-I can hardly watch the ones on Disney plus. I don’t hate the new ones-but I’m glad I have my originals 😊
I think most people love the originals the most. All the Disney ones are garbage.
I saw Star Wars when it first came out. I wanted my hair to be like Princess Leia's hair.
Well it's all new to me so I'm with you never seen none of them onward sir
looking good Adam, keep up the good work
