I worked at this Universal for 8 loooong years. Worked at the front gate and studio tour. when I started in 2010 the VIP tour was around $200 and WAY better than it is now and you actually had to call them to book it. A few years later they started selling it at ticket booths and online and it all went downhill from there. I'm glad you guys went to guest services about it and im glad they made it right!
We worked there at the same time lmao. I quit to work at Kaiser the same year tho. That James Kyson from the TV show Heroes would do this tour while I sold churros and hot-dogs. Sidelined in the Gibson as well 😏.
Same everywhere. In AZ thank goodness we visited often in the 1990's early 2000's to see Tombstone Old Tucson Studios etc. Especially before half of Tucson Studios burnt down in 1995. Last time at both in 2012 was sad how it had changed not near as many attractions daily productions.😔
Both you & the GIV said the same thing in your last vlogs: "You won't know unless you ask". That VIP tour was *not* inexpensive, so I'm glad that they made it right and provided you all with your money's worth. End result: great vlog!
Universal is incredible. When me and my family went to the one in Florida, we were walking around and got approached by staff. They asked us if it was our first time, we said yes, and they gave us "family of the day" pins that granted us lightning lane access for the entire day, as well as a personal tour. It's not anything compared to the one in California I'm sure, but it was really cool.
Besides the studio tour and Mario Land, Universal Orlando has way more to offer than Hollywood. Hollywood is still fun for a day though. That's awesome they did that for you!
Did this tour years ago before the fire and they took us into the official prop department and even let us play with some stuff. Truly an awesome day! They let us walk around the Psycho house, the Bates Motel, Whoville and the wreckage from War Of The Worlds! Took photos from the Incredible Shrinking Woman props and set. Private scenes from the original King Kong set-up that burned down (along with the prop building). They fed us on a working soundstage in the backlot for some random show. Really was great!
Ordinary Adventures and Provast Park Pass did the VIP tour a couple of weeks ago and their tour was quality. They got to walk around Court House Square.
I could have sworn I remember someone saying in these VIP tours that they will accommodate your requests if they're not filming at that time. Why didn't they just ask??
@TheDailyWoo you know it, for that money tho you should be getting all the whistles and bells, they know what everyone wants to see. That water pool area should be a feature of the VIP tour.
Amazing job on the part of the Universal staff team, making your experience into something way beyond what you had expected! I used to go to Universal in California a LOT, but never got to see the stuff you all got to see. I'm so happy you took us on this journey with you! Thank you, Adam! *BTW* Just for the record.. The "Animal House" is the sky blue house, with the white trim at the end of that sidewalk on your right.
Adam, thats amazing that they took care of you. Good to see this happen especially after your experience in Vegas. Very happy to see you enjoying things that you dreamed of seeing. Kudos to Universal for doing it right - at least my faith in big Corporations is not completely gone! And you know that tour better than anyone! Your knowledge is extremely impressive sir!
Adam , great video! As a 17 year old teenager in August 1974 I took the Backlot tour riding in tram.I still remember we stopped and walked through Lucille Ball's dressing room. It was actually a small cottage and as we exited and were getting back on the tram Telly Savalas rode up to his dressing room next door in the geen Buick used on Kojak series. Gloria Swanson ( Airport 1975) also was dropped off and going in her dressing room nearby. The Planet of the Apes costume display is another great memory . Its sad that Universal and Disney have raised prices so high that many families are priced out and will miss the experience. 😢
My son is a set dresser in the industry and would drive a golf cart around the Backlot whenever he would work at Universal or Warner Brothers. He would send me videos. Very cool to see!
I'm so glad they went above and beyond, that detailed tour later on is what i would expect for $500, glad they rectified that for you guys, great vlog! 😳
Universal Hollywood is really winning when it comes to customer experience. I had a similar experience over Memorial Day weekend when I mentioned some grievances about my visit to a park employee. They really went the extra mile to assure that my visit was everything I expected. It was actually surprising how much they did to assure I was getting my money's worth. It's nice to see a theme park putting the guest experience above all else.
I'm glad to see it all worked out for you. I hope you reach out to Universal and express what a fine job the guest services agent did to rectify the situation. I'm glad guest services went above and beyond to make your day!
Watching the (1st) tour, I was thinking, "Oh, no. This isn't right!" 👏to Nerd Locations for talking to Guest Services and it's wonderful that they wanted to make things right 🌟
I went to a "Flea Market" at Univeral that was in the square in front of the Clock Tower. They had housewares and furniture from the prop house for sale. I spent more time looking at the set buildings than shopping. It was amazing to be there. I did buy a few things, but nothing recognizable though.
Colonial Street was originally on the lower lot near Courthouse Square but moved to the current location several years ago. The Harvey house was to the right of the Munster house then but they got swapped during the move. The center section of the 2nd floor of the Harvey house was also borrowed when they built the Psycho house. You can compare photos to confirm. Glad they made it up to you!😊
What a strong finish to the tour after the disappointing start! you guys got awesome walking access! The lesson of the day is that it never hurts to ask! 🙂
I'm incredibly and sincerely impressed with how Universal handled that. Kodos to them. And I think Adam has perhaps shown an incredible amount of knowledge of the backlot, and I hope that gets noticed.
Glad you were able to get more out of the VIP tour. $500 is a lot of money for just a drive-by. I've never done one of these, but it's surprising to hear that they aren't consistent.😮
It’s a working studio.. So filming might be taking place on the day of your tour .. hence the inconsistency . Took me 3 tours to see court house square.
I went on the tour years ago went on one of those old tour trams that you filmed. I was pretty young. Seen the set for Ironside where they would talk in his office they even had the rain in the window on. I remember the flash flood the first one, not the second one. Seen the set for the movie Airplane 2 I believe when they sank into the ocean. Went through that tunnel when the 6 million dollar man was being made, that tunnel was spinning around us and made us feel like we are upside down, and had to close my eyes to stop the feeling. I remember a scene for Ironside was being filmed the tram stopped and we had to be quiet. We went over this bridge that would fall apart when we went over it. We watched a rock slide come down on us one of the huge rocks went over the wall, and this guy picked it up and throws it back looked real but was made of styrofoam. Seen Munster's house and Bates Motel. We were told the blood from the shower was 2 gallons of Chocolate syrup. The color red would not look correct in a black-and-white movie. We had some people in the group trying to be actors they set up a scene for them a police one even had a uniform put on. We watched as the shark Jaws came up on a dummy in a boat it attacked the boat and the dummy go under, they even had fake blood come up on the water that was after the shark came up to the tram and looked like it was attacking our group scared the Hell out of everyone, might be that water ( pond ) you filmed. I don't remember how much walking we did. That experience was the best time of my life at the time. I'm 63 years old now great videos keep up the good work. Have a great day God Bless.
@Charlos You're overreacting to someone's comment about their inability. Then, insulting them. I'm pointing out your being a dick! Not everyone is as great as you are.
31:57 i had lunch right there when i was an extra in a show on the backlot last year! 32:22 exactly right where your pointing right there was where a lunch area was set up, it was really cool. wish i knew what the house was used for earlier haha, obviously i know its been in things, it is a studio after all, but its cool when you know exactly what.
Glad Universal came through at the end for you guys! This was amazing to watch especially The Burbs filming location. That movie cool. lol Would of liked to seen the Hill Valley set but like you said they were setting something up so I understand.
The lady who tagged along with you she is just so beautiful. I'd love to come to America and do some of the studio tours. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you for another great upload.
Adam! Not to critique your video but don’t talk while the Tour director is talking. Most of us cannot afford to do Disney or Universal so please next time don’t talk as much please. Let us enjoy it to.
Adam, I'm just now watching this video and I need to thank you. My dream is to go through the burbs neighborhood and they always pass right on by Colonial St. Nice work! You would make a great tour guide as well!
If you think for 1 second that they would give regular people that second tour if they weren’t happy, you’re nuts. The only reason Adam and friends got that second tour is because they are RUclipsrs and were recording, that’s the only reason.
given adam is banned from universal orlando resort, I don't think the universal comoany thinks too highly of him. reguardless, $500 for essicially a modified route of the normal backlot tour is a ripoff and i'm pretty sure anyone who complained could get the second tour. it's just basic customer service. charge a premium and you should expect premium service. imagine if you payed 500 for a walking tour of disney and they didn't even take you anywhere that normal guests couldn't go.
Great Tour!! ....You have a fabulous job!! ✈ just love all your vlogs.and I get to see places, I most likely will never see....So keep the Adventures Going!! 🚙🚙
My friend and I got stuff added to our tour when we told the guy the stuff we wanted to see. He said he had to check. Came back. And yes, they added what they could onto the tour. If their filming in a certain location, they can’t allow you to visit because of liability reasons.
I use to work at Universal. Those older trams you saw from your hotel room are currently used as Shuttle Buses taking people up the hill from Lankershim Blvd. When I worked there I'd arrive by subway and would mostly skip taking the shuttle up the hill and traverse it by foot
Those may have been used at one time but they definitely aren't now and haven't been in a long time. The shuttles from Lankershim going up the hill are newer and cleaner looking. Current employee.
500 bucks!!! i'm stunned, i thought it would have been 20 bucks or something! must be the most expensive entertainment tour on the planet! i'm glad you did a vlog of it, you saved me 500 dollars, so thanks man!
Keep in mind it also includes valet, breakfast, lunch, park admission, unlimited express pass and escorted to the front of the line including the tour. Ultimately isn’t that much more than what one would spend especially if it’s a once in a lifetime thing
$20 might get a you a bottle of water or two! Some of the Exclusive VIP Disney tours are $2,000 per person on top of a 50K per person lifetime membership fee!
The $500 is not always Set in stone . Our family paid $379. Which it includes park in admission it also has unlimited express passes so you get to go on the rides as many times as you want and skip the line you also get snacks in the morning. You also get a lunch and you get to meet special characters that you don’t see elsewhere !
I really like watching your videos, but I admit it was a little rough listening to you and the tour guide talk at the same time. Good to see Universal stepped up to the plate for you and the gang - very impressive!
@@dianapearson1771 of course I like Adam that is why I am watch his channel. I compliment him far more than I bring up the things that bother or annoy me. From people who know Adam personally it is said you couldn’t meet a nicer guy.
@TheDailyWoo for you who has been on it a million times sure but maybe not for the other people who also paid $500 just like you. It's super rude and disruptive to other people on board. Please don't ever come to Japan.
Hey Adam, I hope you're well. I'm a regular watcher of your channels based in Australia. I have a small growing RUclips channel. Dirt Road 4x4. Based off both your Universal and Warner Brothers VIP tours, I went to both over the weekend. I had the best time and sooo glad I spent the bucks doing both VIP tours. Love your content,, so much to explore in the US I was in the US for the SEMA show in Vegas, then went onto spending the weekend in LA. I arrived back in Australia this morning. Thanks so much, 🇺🇸 Come to OZ 🇦🇺 soon. Cheers Trev :)
Commentary and complaining over the tour guide is pretty annoying TBH. I hope you did that in post because anyone else paying to be there would be even more annoyed with disruption.
For that much money paid for a basic studio tour park price I would be complaining too and I’m sure Adam was not next to anyone when he was voicing his opinion
@@27drifterx The 500 was for unlimited express pass, all day front of the line access, park admission, breakfast, lunch and back lot tour. Also he was right behind the tour guide and in front of people. It's rude behavior and unappreciative towards others bottom line.
So were you sitting next to him and others while he was complaining?? At this point you are just plain criticizing him without being there in person..only watching it like we all have..nothing to debate any longer so your next rebuttal will just be plain the same
@@27drifterx People have issues with influencers filming and ruining experiences in general. Adam is usually on his own or with friends only, this is him acting like an entitled superfan influencer not considering others around him. I gave him a pass a few days ago with concert acting for no formal cameras but this is starting to be a trend now.
I was yelling at you to stop talking about The Burbs when the tour guide was talking! He was actually telling us about ALL the movies filmed in the street. I get you were excited but shame you ruined the experience for your viewers.
Well I mean it's human. We get excited about something and it happens sometimes. He wasn't intentionally trying to be rude in that way. Sometimes we get blinded by our excitement. No use crying over spilled milk.
That was unusual as you had previously been on the tour and it was much more in-depth. Glad that you guys got a "second chance" to to speak. I have not even seen a lot of the movies you refer to in the tour but very interesting!
I remember going as a child they had the A Team van which you could pickup the side. There was a jail bars that bent like noodles. In our hotel lobby next to Knotts was a stand of brochures I grabbed Disneyland and Universal it had King Kong as the backlot tour I was so scared. 10 of us did the VIP tour so badass a few of the ol timers have left but I remember the good ol days
That’s awesome that something got worked out for your group. Sometimes it doesn’t hurt to ask. Anyway at 25:50 that’s incredible what eye for detail you have. You’re just a pro when it comes to filming locations
Adam- Falls Lake is where the 747 re-float & Navy rescue sequence of 'Airport '77' were filmed. The right side of the 747 was constructed next to the long shore edge...with a wing attached. The cast walked across a platform to the bare airplane interior. Then, on cue, through the open hatch & on to the wing, where Navy personnel zipped up on Zodiac boats, loaded passengers, and took them out of frame to the water's edge. A special 747 cockpit exterior was built beside the wing for Jack Lemmon & Brenda Vaccaro to walk into from shore, through the empty set, and then jumping from the cockpit door into a deeper section of the lake. It was pretty freakin cool! The actual scenes of the rescue team attaching the lift straps & balloons were shot, using that same 1/2 side of the 747 airplane skin & wing in Wakulla Springs. They shot some miniature model work of the plane rising to the surface there too. And finally, the S-3A Viking search planes and the exterior of the search command building that was supposed to be NAS Cecil Field in Jax, were actually shot at NAS North Island in San Diego. That's where I met George Kennedy & James Stewart. All the ship board rescue sequences were filmed just off Coronado. 'Grey Lady Down' was filming at the same time.
I know many who have been to Universal Florida complain about Universal Hollywood, that it's old and doesn't have enough attractions. I don't care. Florida does not have the nostalgia. Those lower lots at Hollywood are just amazing. .for those of us...maybe 40 and above...it is a connection to our childhood. Btw Adam, I think you can give this tour yourself. You are super knowledgeable about filming locations.
I would definately choose US Hollywood over Orlanda. My first visit was in 1975. I love seeing the studio sets and history. Too me it's not about rollercoasters.
The reason is it's literally someone's office now. The building is just named after Hitchcock since he spent career there. You think they are preserving his office?
Fantastic you were able to walk around and see the Burbs area. Another fantastic movie. Wow Hitch's office. You guys hit the jackpot. I once was taken to the front of the stage at an Elton John concert in Charlotte. Can't tell my secret, but it's true, it can't hurt to ask.
Talking over the guide was irritating. Also, this is the second video you've been complaining in in the past few days. Yes, you make content but you shouldn't expect special treatment.
My mom and I took a private VIP tour of Sony Pictures, on March 09, 1995, almost a month after I turned 14. To our surprise, we were put in a group that was made up entirely of producers, one of whom was Wendy Finerman, who won the Oscar for "Forrest Gump" a few days later. We got to see the recording of the theme to "An American President", met Jon Lovitz at the recording studio for "The Critic", met Melissa Gilbert and Cicely Tyson outside the sound stage for "Sweet Justice", went on the set of "Party of Five", and we got to take a tour of "Married...With Children", where I got permission to sit on Al Bundy's couch (yes, I imitated Al's signature pose)! That day was one of the highlights of my life. When studios go above and beyond for VIPs, it can truly be an experience to treasure for a lifetime.
I just watched Ordinary Adventures and Provost Park Pass' video of this tour, and their tour was insanely different than yours. They got everything. But they had a different guide. Their guide was insanely good. Super enthusiastic and super into the whole thing. I'm glad they made it right though. I think the key is the guide. Don't they control the whole tour? That's what I've gathered from other videos. Maybe Universal should layout an actual itinerary for guides, because people are getting a mixed bag. I would think that would be an obvious business practice, but who knows. Weird, but glad it turned out awesome for you!
My tour was a normal guests experience not one offered by universal to influencers . Obviously when that happens they will go the extra mile to make sure it’s perfect
@TheDailyWoo Ah, that's right. They did say they were invited out. But still, $500? They should be offering their (Ordinary Adventures and PPP) tour to everyone. If they're going to advertise it like that on RUclips, then that should be the standard. Those kind of videos work! I was looking at the package right after I saw their videos 😆
Damn. At first I thought you were being sarcastic. I immediately felt like that first tour guide wasn't meant for this job. Felt more like a melancholic version of the tour. Really awesome to see how they send you out with a personal guide. One wish of mine is to go the US in a few years (been there twice, done the VIP tour 3 times) and then pay a little extra for the 'secret' one on one tour. Very much like what you experienced, but for 5 whole hours.
So with the VIP tour, do some people do it mainly for the theme park VIP access, rather than the studio history tour? It's a lot of money, but seems like they bundle of a lot of perks packed into the day. Some people would be fine with a shorter standard tour before they breeze through the lines in the attractions. Personally I'm fascinated by the technical side of filming, the way things get changed up and almost unrecognisable, the quick fixes and changes etc. it's magic!
Listening to both you and tour guide talk at same time. Crazy.!!!
Annoying actually.

Very Awesome Video Adam.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous 🤣 looking good guys, looking good!!!!
It was an interesting day to say the least man
Glad Universal came through at the end for you guys! This was amazing to watch especially The Burbs filming location. That movie cool. lol Would of liked to seen the Hill Valley set but like you said they were setting something up so I understand.
Brilliant video, i really enjoyed that! Been on the VIP tour twice before, cant wait to do it again!
Wait, didn't we do this one a couple months ago? I'm commenting at the beginning of the video so maybe I should just watch?
It's hard to know who is giving the tour, seeing as how Adam won't stop talking over the tour guide
Yea I found him to be disrespectful. Tour guide is just doing his job
Let us enjoy it to.
absolutely brilliant to ask fantastic ending to a tour that was very experience you have really good knowledge
How many times do comments need to get repeated? At least scores of comments get repeated over five times!
My friend and I got one. You have to ask.
Agreed. Total entitlement so Woo can get the content he needs of him being an entitled know it all.
@@samrod2832 if you dispise Adam so much why are you even here giving him views which is his *only* source of income outside of investments
@@Bowling_Dude sorry, Stan.
Hi Adam 👋, good your up first, so I can join you lol. Thanks for sharing 🙏. 😎📸🤘
Old school. Making sure the guests have the best time. 2 thumbs up for Universal Studios.
I love Murder She Wrote! thank you for filming that. You look amazing BTW!
I use to work at Universal. Those older trams you saw from your hotel room are currently used as Shuttle Buses taking people up the hill from Lankershim Blvd. When I worked there I'd arrive by subway and would mostly skip taking the shuttle up the hill and traverse it by foot
I don’t think the older trams I showed have been moved in years
Those may have been used at one time but they definitely aren't now and haven't been in a long time. The shuttles from Lankershim going up the hill are newer and cleaner looking. Current employee.
@@TheDailyWoo Adam please clean your camera there's a dot every video
It was nice to hear your voice & energy change! Lesson learned, our friend! 😊
👍👍
Fools and there money..Got screwed over big time 🤨🤨
I really like watching your videos, but I admit it was a little rough listening to you and the tour guide talk at the same time.
Good to see Universal stepped up to the plate for you and the gang - very impressive!
there is always that one guy on the tour that never shuts up
I can’t take the voice competition I am not sure I can watch the entire thing. I can’t understand anything either one was saying
If you don't like Adam, he are you watching?
First Tour was boring as hell
Love your content,, so much to explore in the US
I was in the US for the SEMA show in Vegas, then went onto spending the weekend in LA. I arrived back in Australia this morning.
Thanks so much, 🇺🇸
Come to OZ 🇦🇺 soon. Cheers Trev :)
Commentary and complaining over the tour guide is pretty annoying TBH. I hope you did that in post because anyone else paying to be there would be even more annoyed with disruption.
Very true
You guys got the “I have almost a million subscribers combined” treatment, is what you got
I was yelling at you to stop talking about The Burbs when the tour guide was talking! He was actually telling us about ALL the movies filmed in the street. I get you were excited but shame you ruined the experience for your viewers.
I agree, I was trying to hear what he was actually saying, but he just spoke over the top. Bloody annoying. Marveling about a power pole for 5 mins...
Well I mean it's human. We get excited about something and it happens sometimes. He wasn't intentionally trying to be rude in that way. Sometimes we get blinded by our excitement. No use crying over spilled milk.
THIS!!! I wanted to hear about the other movies and if I heard about the damn Burbs one more time or the stupid power pole…..
Thumbs up number 32 here just want to say hello from Iowa and love your channel
Was an interesting video but man the Audio is annoying, listening to you try and talk over the tour guide was a bad choice.
Hey Adam, love it when I’m up late in 🇦🇺and one of your videos drops. hi :)
You would think that the Bate’s Motel & The House would be a Standard on ANY Tour, especially a VIP 🤔
The Munsters house, sweet! Next to it is the old Simmons Mansion from the Ghost and Mr Chicken (Don Knotts). Nice! I've only been back there once.
Cannot hear either one of you!!! Adam stop talking over the narrative!!! Horrible
That was unusual as you had previously been on the tour and it was much more in-depth. Glad that you guys got a "second chance" to to speak. I have not even seen a lot of the movies you refer to in the tour but very interesting!
I didn’t pay nearly $500 and got see mostly all of this.
Eye for detail?
He misses details all the time that would bite him if they were a snake.
Awesome glad you spoke up. Thank you for sharing. So cool 😊
Oh, my gosh! I’m so glad you guys asked! So much money for a VIP! What a lovely personal tour!
'Grey Lady Down' was filming at the same time.
was thinking doing this in september but now change my mind
Hi Adam The Woo. Thank You for The Video. It Brought Back Great Memories that I Enjoyed 29 Year’s Ago When I Was There😃
I know many who have been to Universal Florida complain about Universal Hollywood, that it's old and doesn't have enough attractions.
Thank you Adam, you are a wealth of movie knowledge on these trips!
It would been nice to see inside of Hitchcock's office.
Yes, you make content but you shouldn't expect special treatment.
omg, your 2nd “tour guide” was my guide a few weeks ago too. I did the regular tour and he was great!!!
He was awesome
It's hard to understand 2 people talking at the same time 😂
I'm hoping you folks tipped that guide. He went far and beyond what he had to do. Glad he met and exceeded your expectations. Great Vlog Adam!
Tipped the second driver and second guide . They were awesome
Would’ve been cool to hear the tour guide speak
What's even more crazy: last October I stayed in that very same Hilton room. Same floor, same corner 😂
This VIP tour started out underwhelming…. I would have complained for sure. Good that you asked! 🎉
Very cool video Adam and it was very nice seeing you again last night.
I can spend a week in Mexico City, including flying there, and buying an annual pass at Six Flags, for $500.
Punched to my gut and then glued to my seat on this wild ride. Glad the stars aligned on this one.
So with the VIP tour, do some people do it mainly for the theme park VIP access, rather than the studio history tour? It's a lot of money, but seems like they bundle of a lot of perks packed into the day. Some people would be fine with a shorter standard tour before they breeze through the lines in the attractions. Personally I'm fascinated by the technical side of filming, the way things get changed up and almost unrecognisable, the quick fixes and changes etc. it's magic!
Woww so cool. One of my favorite movies is Harvey. Surreal to think so many cool things filmed there
When you talk at the same time as the guide I can’t hear either of you 😅
