- 'Return of the Sentinel' from the debut album by KK's Priest, 'Sermons of the Sinner'. Order now: kkspriest.lnk....
KK’s Priest - the new band formed by KK Downing, the founder of Judas Priest. New album out now.
-----
KK’s Priest - ‘Sermons of the Sinner’ - 10 new songs available on CD disc, single disc vinyl with bonus CD album, digital download and via streaming - is a musical statement that KK Downing's heavy metal ride is far from over after his extended hiatus. “The whole concept is the fact that I continue proudly to be who I am and what I am and do what I do,” declares Downing. “It's been nearly 10 years. I'm back making music.” Downing assembled former Judas Priest singer Tim “Ripper” Owens, Hostile guitarist A.J. Mills, Voodoo Six bassist Tony Newton, and DeathRiders/Cage drummer Sean Elg to create Sermons Of The Sinner.
Downing says the word “sinner” in the album title refers to his famous solo in that classic song of the same name, noting that fans are always hoping for new music to sound like the Judas Priest classics. KK’s Priest's new material is most certainly an homage. They have unleashed an album with a modern sound that hearkens back to what fans have always loved about Downing and his music and which still sounds fresh. The high speed album opener “Hellfire Thunderbolt” offers a fictitious take on how metal arrived before the masses were ready for it. Rousing rockers like “Raise Your Fists” and “Wild And Free” revel in the passion and excess that metal fans embrace. The guitar interplay is intense and inspiring, and the band is firing on all cylinders.

RETURN OF THE SENTINEL
Return into desecration
He smells death on the wind
Here to fight for the nation
The saviour of all mankind
Time to make ready his weapons of glory
Hope our children will tell the story
We may never see again the return of the Sentinel
He pledges death to avenge us
The tyrants they’ll go to hell
Weapons of black steel protect us
Feel the wrath of the Sentinel
Time to make ready his weapons of glory
Hope our children will tell the story
We may never see again the return of the Sentinel
Into the battle he storms on without fear
Hell waits for no one
The enemy’s death is near
I’ll ride like the wind avenge all those who sinned
There will be peace on earth forever more
I’ve been summoned and I hear you call
You are safe I’ll protect you all
Now I’m here to defend and stay
They’re never gonna take my soul away
Sentinel ..... Repeat
The Sentinel in his glory
But no longer in his prime
Win or lose this battle
He stood the test of time
The challengers shriek their fury
Their weapons glint in the sun
With fear he’s outnumbered
It’s time to stand or run
Soon there’s blood and thunder
The Sentinel strikes fast
But then the battle turned against him
It was to be his last
I’ll ride like the wind avenge all those who sinned
There will be peace on earth forever more
Now he lays there dying
His scabbard laid to rest
The victors gloat their glory
He failed the final test
With one last breath
he cried out loud
Your place awaits in hell
Beware I’ll be right behind you
All fear the Sentinel
END
People need to stop with the Judas Priest comparisons...KK's Priest sounds like KK's Priest, not Judas Priest...you have talented musicians coming together, and from a thought and an idea they formed a band, they made music that is appreciated and will be remembered...stop whining and crying, this is KK's Priest...if you don't like it, don't listen to it...all hail...
It's better than judas priest
Just a great band especially with Ripper on Vocals 🤘🤘❤️, and Les Binks on drums sounds like he hasn't lost a beat
Some people go to a psychoanalyst to deal with their obsessions, KK writes a song. Cheaper, healthier but it requires a talent wich is only reachable for the true Metal Hearts
The Sentinel is metal's Master Chief!
The Rise of K.K. The Priest Has been Reborn
The way the song goes from 160 mph to 40 mph is amazing., This is definitely KKs band.. and Ripper’s voice is spot on., He’s Back.
That slow down and reverb on the guitars on the back half is beautiful. Metal needs a lol more of that back in it.
Probably the most contemporary true metal album in existence.
😥
Tim Ripper Owens will be remembered as one of Metals greatest singers. Just as KK will be remembered as one of the best thats ever been.
You nailed it! Rob ain't the only voice in town, but kk is irreplaceable. Faulkner is 80% to kks 120%
Stupidest thing i have ever heard🤣🤣🤣
I couldn't care who likes it and who don't!!! Personally, I LOVE it!!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Wow I’m 65 good lord This is inspiration to us all what metal is and should be great work Ken Downing just Incredible!
50 years later the sentinel returns in an epic way. This is killer.
50 years??!!
Sentinel was mentioned on the JP Angel Of Retribution album.
SFV came out in 81 or 82
The sentinel was born in 1984 on Defenders of the faith
The whole concept of The Sentinel just sounds like something out of a badass 80s mecha anime and I couldn't complain whatsoever.
You know a song is good when 9 minutes pass and 1) it doesnt feel like 9 minutes 2) you want 9 more minutes. What a journey this song take the listener on.
Couldn't agree more. I felt exactly the same when I heard this.
Yep
True story
Exactly! Well said.
I’ve seen priest 22 times live I’m 65 been a fan since 1977 it’s been a journey I just love how this song continues that journey for everyone
Ripper is back !!!!
Yes!
Great band - leaving Judas Priest behind by lightyears!
Bass lines are crushing.
kk best guitar player in the world. the band also the best.
The era of 2 Priests.
i dont complain! 🤘🎸
What a song, a brilliant ending to this, epic nod to the sentinel. KK has done us proud, he truly is a master of rock. Long live KK
This song is the perfect way to end the album. I was blown away by this 🤘🏻
That coda is entirely based on “Starglow Energy” by Captain Beyond. Check it out and thank me later. ESP the guitar melody at 7:37.
Definitely better than the shit that Judas Priest tribute band has been outting out lately.
More like Iron Maiden than Judas. ;)
So great that Tim got a band to truly shine!
This is AWESOME! Ripper sounds like Halford, Dio and King Diamond all at the same time!
He sounds like a cheap copy to me...
KK is greatly missed, and Tim is getting the recognition he deserves ! Amazing riffs and solos !
About time Tim gets the recognition he deserves. His piercing vocals in this one really blew me away
You don't have to miss KK anymore. And I think it's better for all concerned - and therefore for the fans, too - that he is not in JP anymore. It was a bit ridiculous that he tried to ask himself back after all he had said about his former bandmates, but anyway I'm glad he's doing his own thing now. :)
@@Wanderer_1877 Now we have two great bands and its great, is not it?
@@davidknichal6629 weird to think I'm hearing Ripper on a third "Priest album" (even if it isn't exactly an official Priest album)
@@Wanderer_1877 Glenn is done. They should have K.K. back for the sake of the fans. Having a producer out there playing songs K.K. wrote is ridiculous. K.K. was in the band before any of the current members.
How can anybody be disappointed in this from the greatest heavy metal band that ever walked the planet it's a 58 year old American man I've always loved Judas Priest and this is proof after 50 years that nobody can shine their shoes they are the Tom Brady of heavy metal 50 years the only ones can come close is iron Maiden and kiss but it's also the class of music when his Judas Priest really ever let you down in 50 years ? We don't need a Rock and roll Hall of Fame to prove how great somebody is the greatness of what they are are within our hearts and our memories and the sad part of life is that when you die your ears no longer work and in which you can no longer enjoy these wonderful sounds that we were given in our lifetime in our generation thank you Judas Priest for a great 50 years and God bless all these be safe and we couldn't have asked for more !!
You nailed it.
Marvellously formulated, sincere, heart - warming thoughts.
Thank You on behalf of all of us.
Long live KK , the embodyment of the purest heart, soul, spirit and blood purest
This album has the feel of Priest at it's peak. Maybe the Painkiller era. Fucking AWESOME!
I wish it was so. The album sounds nothing like Painkiller, man.
@@jans2887 not true. Without the Titlesong, the material Of KK'S priest is the same
Faktycznie masz racje🤔
I'm listening ¬30 years of Rave etc., but this is awesome
Great music must be appreciated, no matter what genre of music you prefer
Now we need resurrection of the sentinel
Tony Newton sounds awesome!
Now THAT is how KK's Priest guitars should sound, blazing.
Heck flipping yeah brother 🤘🏻
@@metalpianomusic5635 At least the solos, the rest wasn't blazing, but some blazing is better than no blazing.
I Agree 100% man
This is the best metal song of the decade. Period..
Owens was Amazing with Judas Priest, but I wouldn't have ever imagined he would be even better... He's just wow...
agree totally!!!!
Old metalhead here, I’m 55 and I have been a Priest fan since 1978 when I was 12. It is extremely exciting to see KK back in business, this album is excellent!!, album of the year in my opinion.
I’m also 55, physician, and Metalhead since 1978, my 1st car 1975 Monte Carlo had Defenders of The faith huge bumper sticker. Hope Richie heals nicely, and Glenn is doing great. Had some drinks 🍺 after the Philadelphia Painkiller tour
With Glenn and KK, Great guys, 🎸 🎸
53yo ♀️here, and way back when my nickname in highschool yearbook was "Metalhead"...I was all agog over KK... (THE MAN🔥🔥)
Ripper Owens' vocal range is quite impressive. Thank you KK's Priest for the musical journey we have been waiting for. Congratulations to all. Now let's take this on tour.
Dude I can’t wait!!!!!!!! Ripper told me they’ll play Cathedral Spires when they tour also
@@metalpianomusic5635 YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!
@@metalpianomusic5635 another epic masterpiece
@@metalpianomusic5635 I am absolutely down for them doing some Ripper era Judas Priest tracks, especially Cathedral Spires.
@@kemanorel3110 heck yeah!!! Ripper kills it on vocals as always 🤘🏻
A big difference between this and Priest is the bass playing. It's actually doing more than just "providing the low end."
Exactly 💯 percent agreed 🤘🤘
@@channelsurfer3710 best what?
I agree..Great bass lines!! The bass here is much better than JP..
@@tiagodstef4742 It serves a bigger and better purpose.

Thank You for keeping us alive.
Eletric eye🤘👊🖤
❤❤❤❤❤
Kk still represent the pure strain of heavy metal, long life to you Kk.
This song with the video and lyrics is outstanding….. masterpiece no less
THIS is the BEST Priest album since NOSTRADAMUS!!!
K.K. is the Priest! And if "The Ripper" goes on like this he'll be METAL GOD 2nd.
Thank you for this great album.
That's not saying much. Nostradamus was a dog shit album. This sounds OK but reminds me more of Iron Maiden than Priest. Fairly cheesy lyrics and vocal.
@@musicinthemachine half a good album with Nostradamus, redeemer was dog shit, Firepower passable. Great and sounds nothing like IM
This album is true metal art. Everybody who is glad with other bands. I don't care . KK's Priest is in my heart.
How magnificent is it that this many years later, they come up with this masterpiece? Rock till you die!
I must admit the band made a strong impression on me! I never thought i'll listen to metal again. Here the band is writing another page of music history with letters of gold.
You must not have been listening to the right bands if this is the band that saved you from not listening to metal again.
@@luisr0987 I never stopped listening metal. But i listen to many other styles from classic to ambient , harsh noise and prog and related.
This song have a Priest soul. KK effect.
The ending brings me back to old 70s Priest when they really had some feeling and emotion, and not just trying to write radio friendly songs. Halfords vocals on Run of the mill are still my all time favorite vocals
They had to do the radio friendly thing to make it. Their live shows always featured their gems from the late 70s, but sadly they don't perform Run of the Mill.
Also, this album sounds nothing like 70s priest. This is 90s Priest all the way, from start to finish.
Lol @ 'radio friendly'! If only! It's stupidly rare to get Priest on the radio here in the UK. May have heard them twice in my life.
Im your turbo LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEER
great song
K.K Priest best song🤘🤘🤘🤘👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Heavy Metal in its purest expression!!!🤘🔥🤘
The bass 🤘
Great KK!
Super!!!
The acoustic slow breakdown at the end of the song is the same chord progression as the breakdown in the original Sentinel, making it a beautiful and clever callback to the original. Fantastic job, KK!! Great to have you back.
Yes, I noticed it but I was surprised that nobody had mentioned it! Going full circle, so clever
Agreed. This perfectly dovetails with the original The Sentinel! This album has injected some much needed representation from one of the original Metal Masters - KK Downing.
There's actually a few parts from the original, along with the chord changes played backwards (opposite from the original Sentinel). Pretty inventive 👍.
Man... not gonna lie, the ending got me choked up. 10/10
Definitely. That's just how powerful the track is. There's also a lot of nostalgia if you loved the original Sentinel, as it feels like the death of an old friend.
I firmly believe he'll be back. 👌
The sentinel can't die
Oh wow K.K's band sounds great
Well, I guess now we know who wrote "Dissident Aggressor" from Sin After Sin. Kick ass, as always.
Now we have two great Priests.
but you know the one priest who is legendary
The last 3 minutes of the song took me by surprise. It got kind of Nostradamusey, but in a good way. KK didn't play it safe, well done.
That riff at 4:55 just perfection 🤘🤘🤘
I wish the very best for ALL the Priests. They're human like the rest of us. They've all proven theirselves to our world and I cant imagine life without them. Godspeed.
This. They've done more than enough to guarantee their seat as the God's of Heavy Metal
I love Ripper Owens, he did a great job back then when he was in Judas Priest, and now again
He flipping KILLED it as always 🤘🏻
They are arguably the worst Priest albums, but he covered the old stuff good. It was too Pantera-ey. I know they are on here but I don't thin kyou can hear them on Spotify etc.
Contrary to popular belief in my eyes Ripper is one of the best singers in Metal history.
@@-The-DarksideI agree. Demolition was horrible. Jugulator was alright. This is much better.
Even if KK never writes or plays another song he left us with this masterpiece! One of the best metal songs in recent years for sure.
This real metal!!! Thanks God for this!!! I need this in my life!
A TRUE METAL MASTERPIECE!!!!
Great work I love the evolution of KK. Late 70’s I saw priest standing room only close to the stage at the Palladium in New York City. KK threw his guitar pic into the audience. I looked down it was right by my foot. I quietly picked it up I still have it to this day. Light blue plastic with a circle on one side with the word thin written in the center and on the other side a circle with the word HERCO surrounded by an oval circle inside that circle.
Great band. Ripper Owens is one of the best metal vocalists today.
He never sounds better then in this band imo.
Its true 😎🤘
@@babylon333 he sure controls his voice better nowadays. But I also loved his work in the judas priest and iced earth albums, also his solo album was quite good (in part)
Eric Adams
Amazing song/video!!!
THIS is what metal should be!!!!
Me encanta la batería suena muy compacta!!!!!
💀🤘✨EXCELENT SONG ...K.K ONE OF THE BEST GUITAR PLAYERS IN THE WORLD OF ROCK .... THANK YOU FOR ALL THE GLORIOUS YEARS IN JUDAS PRIEST , YOU ARE GREAT AMONG THE GREAT ✨✨🤘🤘🖤🖤🖤
Totally agree with you!!!!
Such a great song and video. I’m on the ropes. I think I like sermons of the sinner better than the sinner rides again. It has much more diversity in the songs. The sinner rides again is definitely heavier and darker , but sermons sounds more like what a Judas Priest album would sound like
There is a lot of hatred and ridicule from a lot of people around this project, maybe it's cheesy but I really enjoy it and I prefer this one that latest metal albums from a lot of "super bands". this music is what heavy metal should be ..... I liked most of this work too much. 8.7 / 10. And i am a Judas fan.
There's like 4 people maybe ...maybe in the history of the world that could live up to Rob Halford.
Speaking of one of those people, go check out Iron Maiden's new album right now and buy it. What are you waiting for?
@@borisdisko4322 the Iron Maiden album is a boring mess. I'll pass.
@@ATDStudios Let me guess... you listened to A Writing on the Wall, which is a great song btw, and neglected to listen to the rest of the album. That's your only acceptable answer and even then you need to apologize.
@@borisdisko4322 I listened to the entire album and did not enjoy it past the opening title track. It's a bummer to say that as a big Iron Maiden fan but for me they've seriously lost steam since A Matter of Life and Death.
@@ATDStudios *doubt Now new Yes sucks ass. But Senjustsu is a rocker. I think your just trying to be contrarian. Do you like the new KK better. You're answer may explain a lot.
Don't know why people think they have to choose between the 2 Priest. I'm a fan of both . I'm extremely loving this album. I think K.K. Really put it out there on this album. I'm happy for both the Priest even though Judas's Journey is coming to an end but after half a decade they've seen and accomplished more than most bands ever dream of. Both seem to really love and care for their fans and realize it's about their fans love and support that has made them so enduringly successful and loved. In the End that's all that really matters .
KK, Glenn and Rob are Priest because they composed and played together for 40 years. And we are blessed to have known such talented and prolific musicians. It is impossible for me to choose because i have loved them all for so long.
Current. JP sounds like Bon Jovi now.. To sweet , to standart and powerless….. Without KK is doesn't works
5th time around and I'm eating my words from my previous comments. This song brought tears to my eyes. I absolutely love this song. Tim......AWESOME job my friend. The Guitar solos and exceptional bass playing really make it over the top. Finally a bass player who can PLAY!!!!!
Agree, Song of 2021.
Long live K.K. Downing!!!!
I take the view that we have 2 great bands 🤘🤟🤟🤟
Best output from KK in decades
The real Heavy Metal that run in my veins all days !!!!!
This the best heavy metal song so far from a bunch old guys showing u they still got it
And Tim ripper Owens is a very underrated singer but very good
The Sentinel is my favorite song from JP right after Painkiller. I'm glad that KK Downing has made a sequel to it.
Song of the year. Album of the year. K.K. kick ass....!!!
I agree totally.
For me I'd probably put Helloween above it, but this is a very close second. This song is definitely song of the year, tho! I don't trust people who didn't cream themselves at that riff 1:55
Bad ass.
One hell of a concept video, too.
Kk is so talented and I am glad he gave owens a place to shine along!! Great song
The last stand of the Sentinel! Major, major feels.
Heavy Metal is alive with KK and Ripper showing the world how it's done... I hope the tour goes through Brazil!!!
KK is the heart of the priest no doubt
Magic...
Album of the year!
In my opinion the best song of 2021.
Obviously KK and Tim are amazing as always, but someone needs to sing the praise of the bass man here. He's ripping some killer lines and leads through this song and has excellent tone!
The guy playing rythem and lead harmonys is all pro
The more I listen to your group kk the more I like your band sounding good 👍
Plus, he has great presence, the takes with him in the other videos always catch the attention of the viewer. Stage presence is very important and he is the showman type.
dude....im really digging kk's new gig.....its so fucking metal...
I love how "The Sentinel" soundtrack gets a tribute song! I mean it's essentially a song about a song. It can't get more badass than that!
Loved the scifi vibe.Yeah we get the cd any day now.Love the thing KK & RIPPER are doing.A real total band instead of ego project
Got my cd yesterday.WOW WOW & WOW.Please do yourself a favor and get it.100% fantastic
"KK" & "Ripper" Sound KILLER As Usual..I Love When "Ripper" does the Soft Yellings at the Very End of the Song.🤟💢🤟
this brought peace to my soul and mind.. wow, yeah
Ripper 🔝🤘🏽
DOWNING - OWENS, PERFECT MATCH AGAIN!!
KK Downing is the sentinel of the heavy metal, which is bigger than metal god.
Sentinel is back ✌️👊and kicks hard
KK just kept getting better , down through the years...
That cannot be said about many Rock Stars...
They get complacent.
3.33 Tim is just awesome! Best moment , epic and powerfull
The riff at 4:54 is a nod to the original guitar intro of JP's The Sentinel. Nice !
Finest Heavy Metal 🤘🤘🤘
Amazing song 🎵 😊
Complex changes . Brilliant !
Thank you KK \m/
1984.. Disco and EBM were ruling. Now came the Sentinel.Yeah,Judas Priest were true Defenders of the Faith back in the day. Can't wait to get KKs vinyl.
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
The vinyl is very nice and comes with the CD also!
Man love this, sounds like it was written during Stained Class time.
