KK’s Priest - ‘Sermons of the Sinner’ - 10 new songs available on CD disc, single disc vinyl with bonus CD album, digital download and via streaming - is a musical statement that KK Downing's heavy metal ride is far from over after his extended hiatus. “The whole concept is the fact that I continue proudly to be who I am and what I am and do what I do,” declares Downing. “It's been nearly 10 years. I'm back making music.” Downing assembled former Judas Priest singer Tim “Ripper” Owens, Hostile guitarist A.J. Mills, Voodoo Six bassist Tony Newton, and DeathRiders/Cage drummer Sean Elg to create Sermons Of The Sinner.
Downing says the word “sinner” in the album title refers to his famous solo in that classic song of the same name, noting that fans are always hoping for new music to sound like the Judas Priest classics. KK’s Priest's new material is most certainly an homage. They have unleashed an album with a modern sound that hearkens back to what fans have always loved about Downing and his music and which still sounds fresh. The high speed album opener “Hellfire Thunderbolt” offers a fictitious take on how metal arrived before the masses were ready for it. Rousing rockers like “Raise Your Fists” and “Wild And Free” revel in the passion and excess that metal fans embrace. The guitar interplay is intense and inspiring, and the band is firing on all cylinders.

I can say this a million times and never be wrong, we’re so lucky to have such amazing, blistering, heart pounding metal straight to the face that connects with our souls now a days. Like any true fan, I’d love to see kk in priest again. Let’s just relish in the fact that we got two bands making amazing music for us lovers of metal to indulge. I just saw kk and Judas both live in the past month and both shows KICKED ASS! Don’t do yourself a disservice by knocking one or the other because of their personal problems with each other. It’s not about that, it’s about the amazing music we now have to enjoy for a life time and so on ❤

@@rabarebra He was the classic Accept drummer and then with Udo, I believe. He switched to guitar for the U.D.O. band then eventually retired because of health problems.
Ripper is one of the greatest Metal icons with the best origin stories ive heard. This is the best Metal album I've heard in decades.

KK is one of a handful of people that are heart and soul of Heavy Metal. I honestly wish the other camp would realize it's been too long and it's time to make amends, forgive, regardless of who is in what band, just on a personal level, you shouldn't hold a grudge till the end. Meh, judging from how the story of his departure has been told by both sides, this seems like a far from resolved issue. I'm just happy that KK found like minded people to create music with him. Wanting to be creative and not being able to is torture for an artist.
I'm really looking forward to material written by the whole band and with Les Binks on drums.
