Heya ^-^)/ I read that you want to hire an editor for your videos. (Just found you on yt and love your content OwO) I'd like to help you edit those videos.
I'm hoping to get a vtuber model for my avatar soon and use it for my twitch streams, but I'm nervous, any tips for staying encouraged and confident when I begin? :0 tysm if you answer!
I just want to say that this is a really refreshing video, it is quite real and I like a lot I just want to add that, collabs arent as good as ppl may think because unless (4 instance) me and the person im collabing with are around the same lvl or type of energy, things can get really awkward really fast. I also want to say that you are wrong about the "lucky growth" because it is real and it happens BUT unless you have the fundamentals covered and you know why ppl enjoy the content, that "lucky growth" may end up becoming a curse have a neat day and glad to see you are enjoying this :D
Thank you so much for this video. I've not yet started but Vtubing is direction I may be going for specific reasons. It's hard to find anyone with experience in this realm of content creation to bounce questions off of. This gave me an insight and gave some understanding while sparking more questions. Blah blah I'm rambling ... sorry, thanks for sharing your failures along with your successes. o7
Mari, you're great. One thing you and Nyanners have in common, is that both of you don't realize how much your viewers care for you, and your content. You're a great VTuber, RUclipsr and streamer, and nothing is going to change that. You realized your mistakes and decided to learn from them and grow, and that's what makes you so valued by your viewers, by us, by this whole community. 💕 The darker the darkness the brighter the light. You've always been a sort of VTuber mother or older sister figure, and you've helped me for ever and always. Take care and remember there's always, *always* someone out there rooting for you; if not a whole community rooting for you.
Im so sorry I am late to this reply, Ive been so busy preparing for my debut, but this comment really makes me feel better. Thank you so much for the kind words Dysania, im glad to have yall here with me ;-;
I’m happy to hear that Ruix! I work really hard trying to learn new things and make content for everyone to enjoy uwu so it means a lot to me to know that my hard work is appreciated
@@MariYumeCh I think your hard work shows in your videos. At least it does to me. I've been following your videos for a while but I'm usually a silent watcher because I'm too scared to leave comments and only recently have been trying to not be so scared of commenting but I really enjoy all your videos! You have a lot of informative videos that I enjoy. Thankyou Mari! ^^
3:40 The reason big streamers, vtubers, and content creators in general are able to keep pumping out new contents almost everyday to constantly entertain their viewers, while still enjoy the process of content creation themselves is they have a team/group of people behind them, supporting them physically and mentally. They grow together and take care of each other as a team. (The group of people can be their editors, moderators, technical supports, or even family and friends that can be their active supporters.) A lot of time the faces of these people doesn't appear is because they prefer to work in the background, and part of the support crew, but that doesn't mean they don't exist or they aren't the big part of the reason why a content creator grows in popularity and content quality. It's physically impossible and mentally taxing for someone to consistently do all the work by themselves, and sometimes people dont realise that (especially when they are new to the field). (I don't think I'm in the place to say this but,) if you're starting out new, all by yourself, take your time. Grow slowly, then eventually make friends with more people that resonates with you, care about you, willing to help you and maybe eventually partly hired by you. Don't rush things and compare your own growth with other people's. Growing your own community is about the people who stays, not how quickly someone comes (and possibly goes).
That was exactly my thought, you formulated this great! Many people work all alone but keep comparing themselves with bigger groups. In fact, it's not healthy to compare yourself with others too much in general. Stay safe everyone, and may God bless you and the path that lies ahead of you! :)
Can we just appreciate how honest this video gets? It goes into so much depth about the struggles with content creation and how much it can effect social and mental health. Really well done, Mari!! :D
I may not be aspiring to be a v-tuber, but I have been wanting to start a channel, and this video has eased so much of the nervousness i accumulated over years of wanting to post something and denying myself because I thought it wasn't good enough, I think I'm ready to start now, thank you so much!
I love the honesty and thought behind this video. Mari, you're the reason I decided to try v-tubing and so far I love it. A lot of that is because of your videos being a guide and reminder on content creation. Thank you so much for your work and the amazing videos
@@ggd4218 It could be adhd, it could also be something different like ASD which are very similar symptom wise or even personality disorders. Or for me, I have a lot of adhd and ASD symptoms caused by side effects of my health condition and other mental stuff going on! Even got misdiagnosed at one point. Either way, if you do end up being diagnosed one day, it's nothing bad or embarassing, just like any other condition isn't. If you are genunely worried I'd recommend to go for a potential diagnosis if possible, and if not just look up tips for living adhd and see if they work for you, and if they do then great! Just don't self diagnose big conditions like these, even if you do believe you have them passionately, a lot of conditions are very similar to eachother and selfdiagnosing as in publicly claiming you have it can be harmful. Though it is fine to genuinely think so yourself and mention it to family and friends about how you relate to it and think you might have it. Wish you the best, and stay yourself :)!
I like how you were honest in admitting genuine, toxic mistakes, and explained the before and after thought processes. Definitely shows maturity and growth, something I think a lot of people could learn from for sure, myself included. Good video!
I joke with my siblings about becoming a vtuber but i’ve quietly been looking hard for advice, suggestions, how to design my oc, etc. I couldn’t find much on my own searches so I pushed it aside for the moment but YT recommended me this video and the videos about VRoid Studio and Characters Sheets! Thank you so much for all these helpful videos and if and when I start VTubing, I’ll be sure to give you all the gratitude you deserve
I've seen a lot of advice on content creation strategies before, but this was one of the first ones that hasn't felt superficial. This is GOOD advice, i'm not involved in the vtubing community whatsoever but I still think there's a lot of value in this, it really seems like you're a much better creator because you've learned the hard way because you actually *know* what you're doing right and how to do it and why because you didn't start out doing it correctly by luck or natural charisma. People that tend to start that way can't guide others easily. I'm definitely saving this as creative advice for my group!
Huh, a video that is: a) Well thought out b) Educational c) Entertaining d) And honest What black magic is this?? All jokes aside, this video was rather insightful and offered some really good advice. Thanks for sharing your experience and nuggets of wisdom. Keep up it up, and I hope you gain more of the right kind of attention.
I couldn't agree with your points more! All of them were SO spot on! For the longest time I had been focusing on engaging in so many communities and did essentially the same thing by reaching out to bigger creators and trying to make connections...and while connections can be helpful, I realized I wasn't trying to make actual friends. Not only that, I wasn't focusing on making good content. Since then I've changed completely and started investing time and work into my content first and foremost, and saw quite a substantial growth to my channel and got many loyal fans!
I just randomly found this video on my recommended and I honestly have to say that it's already one of my favorites! Thank you so much for all of your advice and I will most definitely take it to heart!!!!! I'm looking forward to seeing even more of your content as well!!!!! I'm glad that I found you!
Just stumbled upon your video in my recommended! I love how honest you are with yourself and your content, and you have very solid advice and reminders for content creators. Major respect, I look forward to your future videos!
i don't know much about English vtuber communities, but in japan and indonesia(especially indonesia) communities, there are 3+1 factor you can succes as vtuber - the content creator it self ofc it's about the content creator it self - the fanbase the more vtuber get huge and healthy fanbase the more vtuber succes - the clipper the more vtuber get clip by clipper(especially with big clipper) the more vtuber get attention, the more vtuber could get more subscribers and viewers(and it's seriously effective) + relationship with other vtubers the more vtuber get a good relationship with other vtubers, the more vtuber could get a good friends and experience(sharing experience etc) and could sharing audience with do some collaboration with them(and ofc without boundaries like the subribers count, community, etc) and ofc vtuber can copy other vtubers(for the inspiration), but rather than just a "copy" a vtuber could do ATM, in indonesia usually we called ATM, Amati(observe), Tiru(imitate/copy), Modifikasi(modify), that technique usually for business(product), art, entertainment, etc and it's often effective that's what i know and sorry for my broken grammar
just happened across this, only recently started watching vtubers. Just wanted to say I think it is very amazing of you to take time out and let others see the mistakes you made in hopes to help others learn and avoid doing the same things. People like you are a shining light to others that may one day follow along a similar path.
Mari, this was a great video! I can feel the sincerity of your words, especially at the ending. Being a content creator isn't easy and it's really easy to get discouraged. But, watching your video allowed me to feel like my feelings were valid and that I wasn't the only one feeling this way. Thank you!!
This showed up in my reccomended. You seem to have your head on straight. Good video. I respect someone who can self reflect and learn from mistakes and improve themselves.
Thank you so much for this! I have reached a bit of a weird crossroads in my vtuber path, where I'm comparing myself way too much to people who started with me. This really helped me become more confident and I'm going to keep working really hard, thank you
That's honestly a good video, and I think its 'common sense', but alot of times content creators, artists, etc. tend to forget! I watch a variety of content creator because they make content I enjoy and not here for the numbers. (Tough love I guess?) (Also forgot and finally followed you! I like sweet, to the point vids!) You are amazing, and I hope you continue to make content that makes you happy, helpful or just... Be you~ - Reppanyo P.S. Cat girls are great~ :3c
Thank you Repoanyo! It really surprises me how often people obsess over numbers in content creation. Even some of the uprising Vtubers tend to get lost in it. Quality will always outwin quantity in the end and I’m always trying to improve the quality of my videos uwu Thank you so much for your kind words and love for cat girls!!!
I really appreciate how this video is different from the usual “how to vtube” videos not that I’ve seen any bad ones but none talked about the more behind the scenes and personal things unrelated to your avatar or software
I'm late to when this video was posted, but I genuinely thank you for making it. I've been consistently putting off getting into content creation because of a few setbacks, rejections or whatever. But I think you've made a lot of good points that have pushed me in the right direction. You've earned my sub miss. Thank you
Thank you so much Mari! You've really made feel more confident in starting a VTuber channel. I've been wanting to since I don't know when and I've been really insecure about post and streaming. The work was a lot and starting up is hard, but I know that with enough dedication and passion I can grow to be a good one!
Well as a totally new person who has never seen your content before, I can give some thoughts. This was recommended to me from some other vtuber clips, saw the title it was intersting in this vtuber era, but the things that kept me watchign till the end was your honesty. You were talking about subjects even the most succesful vtubers can't, like clout chasing etc. which are very uncomfortable subjects, but you did it in a very honest and straight forard way, while of course explaining the context and while the subject is really bad, people are not bad and it can be complicated etc. Just some feedback, I liked your honesty about tough subjects and you talked about it in an entertaining and ensightful way! :D
This was actually super well said and probably one of the most helpful vids on becoming a vtuber! Thank you for sharing your experiences!! I'm definitely gonna reflect on my content.
All I have to say is thank you. O feel like I needed really to hear that. I also worry too much about numbers when I shouldn't. I hope that i don't stress myself too much once I debut. I'm currently working on my model. More as a challenge to see if I can pull it off since I will try to even rig it. And something I have to say to the small RUclipsrs out there. If one of your posts explodes and your follow-up tanks don't crush your spirits. It's better to post and get 5 views than not posting because you started hating yourself and not posting anything after you "killed" your channel. Only I wished that i had learned that before especially since this happened to me 3 time already...
As an ex-streamer, I completely agree with you, enjoying games and talking to your chat is very important to build, and it is possible to grow alone without making friends, it is possible, you just need to put some effort in, I hope you continue to grow Mari, your really sweet
I’m just starting the vtuber stuff without any programs and everything, this is actually super helpful cus I don’t really know what I’m doing yet! Thank you sm
Mari Yume, I literally started on my journey to become a Vtuber 2 days ago. I wanted to thank you for helping me start this journey even if you didn't know it. Your videos have been a big help in letting me take those first few steps and beyond. Keep up the awesomeness!!!!
Thank you Mari. I've been dealing with mental issues as a vtuber myself and trying to figure out what I've been doing wrong. And why I haven't grown a community properly yet. You have answered all of my constant questions. Once again thank you
As a brand new streamer and vtuber as of 3-4 weeks ago, this advice is highly appreciated! Thank you so much for this video, I can definitely relate to some of these mistakes so far. One of the harsher ones is NOT to tell a popular vtuber that you are a new streamer without them asking first. I've been banned from chat on one of them and I didn't realize it at first why, but after following the community closely for a while, it's starting to make sense. And you're absolutely right, it's about your passion and quality of your content, not the numbers alone. Now, it's good to set goals yeah, but don't make it your primary mission. What should your primary mission be you may ask? HAVE FUN. No seriously, have fun, because if you're having fun, your viewers are having fun period.
Thank you so much. Needed this. You helped me reignite and focus in my why. It's not the numbers, its connection through community, all of us doing our shared interests together.
No problem Funkel!!! I am glad to hear the great feedback. I am always learning more about content creation and it’s a steep learning path. So I am always happy to share my experiences
I got reccomended your video probably because I was anyway seeking multiple sources for advice in content creation because I am starting out as a pngtuber on Twitch, and honestly this video really helped thank you for sharing your advice
Hey, I am in the process of creating my vtuber avatar, and starting my adventure with the hobby. I wanted to thank you for your amazingly well put together video on this topic. You hit on almost every single concern, tactic, worry, issue, idea, and feelings that I have/have had so far in this. Thank you for your wisdom on this.
Hey, I found your videos about vtubing and used most of the tips to help me figure out what to focus on. Today I was going to start writing down some scripts for videos so when I had my webcam set up I could actually start marketing myself as a vtuber. This video came at the right time for me and felt I should leave a like and comment because through setting everything up I see how important feedback is. I have trouble sticking to one thing because for me it's not popularity I'm chasing but I guess approval that my ideas will someday make a livable income for me. I know it's something that a lot of people are also feeling and why they want the fame and money because they think it will solve their problems. I don't mean to rant or ramble, but I just wanted to let you know I was very happy to see you talk about not only the good of sticking with something but also the bad and how draining it can feel to put yourself out there so much. So I just wanted to say thank you for the video, I'm in a better mindset now and feel encouraged to do great things!
This was something I didn't know I needed I have been struggling to stay positive starting my Vtuder journey and thought that I wasn't cut out for it but I realize now that this stuff takes time and there is no rushing it so have Fath
Loving your editing skills, hair & personality! Such an informative and motivational video on things we should be wary of when taking our early baby steps.
@@MariYumeCh So true! and can imagine the early burn-out may sadly disillusion newcomers from continuing it. Thank you for the metal health awareness and best of wishes on your new adventures Mari!
Thank you Mari. You had me realize that I've been trying to make a lotta "friendships" with other creators the subconscious thought of gaining off of them. Following them for myself instead of actually just enjoying their content. I'm working on cleaning my discord of groups I'm only in for the sake of personal gain, I gotta restart here.
This really helped a lot! I want to do video / drawing content but everything pushes me down, this got me a bit more motivated! Great video overall. I love how you addressed the toxic mentality people have in the entertainment industry and more stuff people usually don’t talk about • Tysm, I love your videos ^^
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I'm thinking about becoming a vtuber so I'm doing my research on this topic and your video actually heped me A LOT! It's really helping with my mindset about that subscribers and followers thing. It was really a blessing to find your video at this moment. Again... thank you😊♡☆♡💗
You spoke from the heart, and I felt that. I also I felt the first half of the video was a bit slow and meandered a bit much, but the second half was significantly stronger.
as a starting creator, i am thankful for this video. i felt a bit lonely on stream because i streamed something and noticed the numbers dwindling so i felt really insecure about it. but i realized that i forced myself to join communities that i don’t really vibe with so i don’t want to start myself on that foot. i stumbled upon this randomly but i believe i was brought here for a reason. thank u for making this!
I'm so glad I found this and I'm not even a Vtuber. You have some genuine advice for no matter what stage in popularity someone may be. I'm just on twitch but I already made two of those mistakes and made my way past them, much like you. I dont know how but you singlehandedly made me feel worth it and motivated again! So thank you. From the bottom of my heart.
A great video, happy this came up in my recommends... albeit 2 years later. This can also be some good points for just Content Creation in general, not just VTubers, which is nice. The fact that some people see their viewers as "just another number" is such a bad mentality, and I'm happy to see people who don't do this. Its true we are not just a number, we are all people enjoying what we love, making content or watching said content. There are only so many minutes in a given day after all. I've been looking into starting myself as a VTuber, but I have realized that I do try to do too many things at once. Even not making content, I tend to stretch myself too thin across multiple communities because I just love being part of one. Lately I've been taking a step back and keeping to myself with my small group of friends, and while I'm doing this self focus of sorts, I am also making plans for the future in what I want to do and how I can prevent myself from stretching too thin again... More so as I start working on content again. This video did help me. Thank you Mari. Hope things have been well the last 2 years since this was posted. ^.^
I'm glad I came across this video. I started streaming as a Vtuber recently and got discouraged about the slow growth, wondering if I'm doing something wrong. but I also realized that I was having fun and enjoyed streaming regardless of the numbers. I'm also new to content creation so only time will tell. After hearing what you said I feel more encouragement and renewed motivation to keep going.Thank you!
This video gave me a lot of great insight on not just VTubing but in my real life too! I've been stretcging myself thing in way too many aspects of my life. I'm really glad i stumbled across this video.
Thanks for your tips I wanted to start streaming again but i felt overwhelmed but watching your video made me realize that its okay to take it slow and just have fun. At the end of the day its why I wanted to become a Vtuber. Thanks again!
Thank you. I’ve been interested in vTubing for a while now as a big fan of Mysta and this is what I feel is going to get me started. Doing things has always been hard for me, as whenever I gain an interest I often lose the interest within a quick amount of time, so it’s difficult finding and keeping things I enjoy. Thank you so much. I’m sure that many agree with me when I say that you are inspiration and such an amazing person.
Good advice as the Vtuber scene grows and becomes similar to other RUclips scenes, standing out is harder and niches need to develop especially since a stream takes a lot more time to watch than a regular video. But I think what’s most important is knowing that if anyone comes to your stream, especially someone who doesn’t know you outside of your Vtuber personality (and even then), they’re spending valuable time on you instead of someone else and that’s really amazing. Good video and really appreciate the insights
Honestly, this is the first piece of media I've seen from you, but I have to commend your profound insights as I've never heard quite the same words from other content producers. Unique perspective and very enlightening! Thanks 👍
Thank you for this! I've been considering stretching into vtubering (yes, it's a word. I think.) for most of a decade, mostly because after forming my channel in 2011 I realised I'm completely unphotogenic. My good side is when the camera faces the wall. Of course, then I discovered my next magor obstacle to becoming a youtuber personality and that is that I'm just an introvert. When I hear youTubers talk about how social media affect their mental health, it makes my skin crawl to imagine being in that situation. I know it wouldn't affect me nearly as much as other but that's only because I don't have the social fortitude to power through and I'd have quit with the slightest bit of social pressure. that's why I appreciate videos like this one. I'm a midle-aged man-child but I still find myself looking up to content creators like you. I'll make it my goal this weekend to spin up a face and some lore. That way, if I ever find my courage, I'll have my vtuber in the barrel and ready to shoot.
Trying to start streaming with my borderline clinical depression and anxiety in 2022 is soo nerve wrecking, but I'm trying to learn as much as I can and maybe be as authentic and honest as every successful vtubers! thank you for the video Mari :D
Thanks Mari. I also often get told by my friends that I would make a great RUclips content creator. After watching your video I think that v tubing might be my way of doing it. thank you for being so inspirational.
Just saw this in my recommendations I don't plan on being a serious streamer in any sense but still have an interest in it. I hope you do well. This is a good take on your lessons. As a fan on the V tubers community my preference falls on the ones who display a part of themselves in their character and how genuine thay are. I did not much care for Snuffy original was just another pink gril with a high voice but after a time she got a new racoon model and started talking in her more normal voice and suddenly I felt so much more involved. She just did stuff she liked and even if I did not share her love of some of the games she liked I'd tune in because she seemed so happy it was easy to pick up on. But that's just one example and everyone needs to find there own way. I suppose TLDR Make it something you enjoy and try to help people see what you see.
this is one of the best videos I've ever watched that is about the streamer world in general. Somebody with the same mindset and seeing what the the streaming world is like and not letting it change you. and then not gate keeping? Kee it all the way real? You are amazing
I feel like as a content creator and even a vtuber, of you do it for a career, ultimate hats off because theres so much that goes into production, especially when it comes to gaming, and that’s coming from some snek who just does all of this for fun lol
I'm starting my Twitch/Twitter/RUclips for Vtubing in the coming months I'm hoping around 2022, and I should have my model and complete setup done. I needed to hear mistakes that I could watch out for and just overall things to keep myself ready for when I get myself out there. I know the journey will be long but I'm gonna focus on having fun and just enjoy the experience of being a Vtuber!
I'd love a video about ADHD and keeping up with content creation/dedication. It's so difficult to keep up with consistency with the time distortion and getting distracted so easily haha. (Not to mention the sheer overwhelm with vtubing community and learning all the ins and outs aaaaaaa mild panic) But thanks for the video! I think it's awesome you could recognize all these things and talk about them when it feels so 'taboo' to get down the the nitty gritty of how people actually feel, like the numbers and jealousy and over coming it. This is the first video I'm seeing from you but I'm happy to see more! ♥
@@MariYumeCh I think it would help a lot of people maybe realize they have it! Even myself I thought I was just lazy or bad at things until I realized what to do, and even if they don't a lot of the tips are helpful for everyone. ^^ You keep doing you though you're great! ♥
Honestly thank you so much for making this video, I kinda wanna be a VTuber but I'm pretty unsure where to start and what to do first so this really helped me
Ive only just started Vtubeing when gaming on Twitch. honestly, the process was not easy to get started and im still suffering heavily from imposter syndrome from it. Ive got alot to learn still, and your vids the last few days have put things into perspective and given me some drive to continue on. Thank you
Thank you so much for your video, Mari! It really showed me that I've been going wrong in so many places of my "career". Now I'm ready for a fresh start with a different mentality.
I think this is real quality content, glad it stumbled into my recommended. It gives a bit of insight into content creation on youtube not just vtubing.
You said so many important things , like holy shit. And i will take this advice, because it honestly shows that you've been through the shit shoveling before you finally started to grow. And it proofs that mistakes is the greatest teacher in life.
Whew this video felt so heavy! Though as a viewer, one thing I can say for sure is that it's more fun to watch streamers who are enjoying themselves while it is blatantly obvious when they are not.
This video is very wise! I am planning to rebrand and launch myself as a PNGTuber & eventually VTuber starting in 2023! This is really good advice that I needed. Thank you so much for this and keep on doing what you do! Keep growing
It’s been a whole year! I am just watching this now and seeing how much you’ve grown from this video is amazing 🤩 I commend you for your hard work thank you for sharing with us all ❤
everything you discussed can be applied to life in general. it's like the same lessons just different people; thank you for being so open and vulnerable in this video
Thank you so much! It can relate to any content creator, but I dont think people would watch my video if I catered it like that since there's so many other youtube growth and streaming advice channels. ^^
I relate to your struggle so much 🤣🤣 I was dying so I had to take a break and focus on enjoying streaming instead of growing 🙃. However, it's a constant mental check. YOU ARE DOING THIS CUZ YOU ENJOY THIS NOT TO BECOME SOMETHING BIG.
This is helpful not only on a youtube/vtubing pov but in life in general I guess. As someone who's tried (and still trying i guess) with youtube, the time and effort put into something compared to the outcome can be really painful but I guess the most important thing is perseverance and not giving up as well as not focussing entirely on the numbers (as mentioned in the video). Sounds kinda cheesy I know but it is more or less what I've realised. Thabk you for the motivation!
i appriciate the tips the numbers but resonated to me specifically because ive been streaming irregularly and posting art in order to get likes ish rather than focusing on how the quality of my art looks
I have been struggling to become a vtuber, but you give me hope that it's worth pursuing. I worry way too much about how many watchera I have on stream, or how many retweets I get.. I'm trying to just focus on what I'm doing and not over thinking it. thank you so much
I’m saving this into my watch later it really helps me feel better. I’d always put myself down whenever I had a “bad stream” and it made me feel insignificant like it didn’t really matter if I streamed or not. But I need to remember Im streaming for myself to have fun, make friends, and spreading good vibes just like other vtubers I look up to. Thanks so much for this video
just found your channel and its been super helpful, i just became a vtuber about a month ago and ive been struggling a lot, i also suffer from ADHD and i might possibly be autistic as well so pushing myself to get content out and on time has been very rough. ive been making a lot of these mistakes as well as playing games just for the hope of getting new veiws or follows rather then play games i actually enjoy. Thanks for all the helpful videos youve made theyve added a lot of insight on what ive been doing wrong and how to push foward 😊
Well put together. This was inspiring for me who has really been on the fence for a year now of going from faceless cam streaming to becoming a V-tuber and be something more
saw this vid while looking for cons at picking up this hobby and you brought up a lot of good points! something I’d like to add is that sometimes, just thinking of it as a hobby and something to bond with others over helps me a lot with how I view my own content and interactions online! It could blow up, it could turn into a job, and that would be absolutely amazing! But hopes and dreams alone can’t pay anything when I move out, so a backup plan is always there! I’m still chasing that hope, still working towards that dream, and I’ve also accepted that it might not happen, which makes all the people who do support me all the more valuable to me, since they seem to genuinely enjoy what I write, draw, and do, which gives me more hope that others might enjoy it too! zero viewers or twelve likes, it doesn’t matter to me, as long as me and those who support me are having fun :)
Fair enough random vtuber on my recommendations, you seem rad and well gosh darn it I'm in. Sometimes when you hit a wall enough times you realise you can maybe climb over or even better walk around said wall as brutal as it is, because the hardest thing people can do is look at the mirror and see the flaws. Keep at it Mari, literally the first vid I've watched of you but, I see something here I like and I hope to see you grow as a not only as a vtuber but as a content creator.
This was supper helpful. I have alot of notes on what is important to note before starting my channel. I want to make sure I am able to fully enjoy streaming and posting videos and want to take as much stress away before I start as possible. Videos like this that help highlight some of the most common mistakes is supper useful for both my stress levels and for my awareness. Thanks!
I may be a little late to replying, however, I have to personally say I loved your story and this video resonates deep with me. I'm an incredibly small, and I hope to be, more grateful, vartist. Over my first year of 'vtubing', lurking on Twitter/ Twitch, I feel exactly in your shoes, a lot of my friends and supporters have grown so, so much, and I have remained nearly completely static, however, the way you framed these exact feelings was incredibly human. It really is hard to not serialize everything, and everyone into a number, and not to count them so obsessively, and I thank you for that reminder.
The more i listened the more and more i understood and the more i found out that you were totally right, now im not a vtuber nor do i plan on becoming one but i did use to stream and only care about numbers, hearing this not only would help someone become a better vtuber, but a better content creator in general, so this is just... great on so many levels, so i say again, thank you for making this video, and you talking all about this, well lets say i hope it would work on someone who just wishes to become a content creator, stay awesome
First time I've heard of you, was actually just thinking about my own channel (which is demonetized entirely so I'd be doing it for Kofi/patreon shilling) and wondering how I could grow the channel to reach out to as many people who would be interested in the content I'm planning to provide. This video isn't just good for VTubers, I am 5 minutes in and your points have been good for _content creators_ at large, not just the virtual youtuber kind. Thank you for sharing your self reflection and being honest about it! It's super helpful for people like me who want to make an impact even if it's not to make a dollar.
Thank you for this! I’ve been wanting to become a VTuber for all while now, and I’ve been working on a model, and it feels nice to hear your story and to realize that famous people are still people that started out where I am as well. Thank you so so much for this video!
Thank you for this video! It's literally the first time I see a video of yours. But I liked how you were direct and honest about the process. Take care

I just want to say that this is a really refreshing video, it is quite real and I like a lot
I just want to add that, collabs arent as good as ppl may think because unless (4 instance) me and the person im collabing with are around the same lvl or type of energy, things can get really awkward really fast.
I also want to say that you are wrong about the "lucky growth" because it is real and it happens BUT unless you have the fundamentals covered and you know why ppl enjoy the content, that "lucky growth" may end up becoming a curse
have a neat day and glad to see you are enjoying this :D

WHY DO I KEEP SEEING VTUBERS WITH THE SAME NAMES OF OMORI CHARACTERS AAA

Ty so much Elwias!!! I tried my best to be honest
I may not be aspiring to be a v-tuber, but I have been wanting to start a channel, and this video has eased so much of the nervousness i accumulated over years of wanting to post something and denying myself because I thought it wasn't good enough, I think I'm ready to start now, thank you so much!
Go start that channel LilTeaBird! I am rooting for ya!
I love the honesty and thought behind this video. Mari, you're the reason I decided to try v-tubing and so far I love it. A lot of that is because of your videos being a guide and reminder on content creation. Thank you so much for your work and the amazing videos
As a neurodivergent content creator (I'm an artist for years, ADHD, 100 followers still) this is so relatable.
Yeah ADHD struggles be real sometimes e.e
I have almost every adhd symptom 😥
My brother has ADHD and i do to along with tics and autism (NOT tourettes)
I know you didn't ask but you were talking about ADHD sooo
I like how you were honest in admitting genuine, toxic mistakes, and explained the before and after thought processes. Definitely shows maturity and growth, something I think a lot of people could learn from for sure, myself included. Good video!

Huh, a video that is:
a) Well thought out
b) Educational
c) Entertaining
d) And honest
What black magic is this??
I am so glad it got recommended to you! I enjoy making these kinds of talk videos :)
Just stumbled upon your video in my recommended! I love how honest you are with yourself and your content, and you have very solid advice and reminders for content creators. Major respect, I look forward to your future videos!
i don't know much about English vtuber communities, but in japan and indonesia(especially indonesia) communities, there are 3+1 factor you can succes as vtuber
- the content creator it self
ofc it's about the content creator it self
- the fanbase
the more vtuber get huge and healthy fanbase the more vtuber succes
- the clipper
the more vtuber get clip by clipper(especially with big clipper) the more vtuber get attention, the more vtuber could get more subscribers and viewers(and it's seriously effective)
+ relationship with other vtubers
the more vtuber get a good relationship with other vtubers, the more vtuber could get a good friends and experience(sharing experience etc) and could sharing audience with do some collaboration with them(and ofc without boundaries like the subribers count, community, etc)
and ofc vtuber can copy other vtubers(for the inspiration), but rather than just a "copy" a vtuber could do ATM, in indonesia usually we called ATM, Amati(observe), Tiru(imitate/copy), Modifikasi(modify), that technique usually for business(product), art, entertainment, etc and it's often effective
that's what i know and sorry for my broken grammar
just happened across this, only recently started watching vtubers.
(Tough love I guess?)
(Also forgot and finally followed you! I like sweet, to the point vids!)
You are amazing, and I hope you continue to make content that makes you happy, helpful or just... Be you~
- Reppanyo
P.S. Cat girls are great~ :3c
Thank you Repoanyo! It really surprises me how often people obsess over numbers in content creation. Even some of the uprising Vtubers tend to get lost in it. Quality will always outwin quantity in the end and I’m always trying to improve the quality of my videos uwu
Thank you so much for your kind words and love for cat girls!!!
Elon Musk, where's the catgirl
I hope that has nothing to do with the Ankha vids.
Go start that channel Eevee! I am rooting for ya!
I needed this very hard, thank you 💕
I’m glad I could deliver SlimyMana!!! Sometimes it feels more real to hear it said out loud :)

This is really informative about your struggles and is super helpful, thank you for making this!
You're so welcome! I am glad it could be helpful to you
Just saw this in my recommendations I don't plan on being a serious streamer in any sense but still have an interest in it.
(Not to mention the sheer overwhelm with vtubing community and learning all the ins and outs aaaaaaa mild panic)
But thanks for the video! I think it's awesome you could recognize all these things and talk about them when it feels so 'taboo' to get down the the nitty gritty of how people actually feel, like the numbers and jealousy and over coming it. This is the first video I'm seeing from you but I'm happy to see more! ♥

I am just watching this now and seeing how much you’ve grown from this video is amazing 🤩 I commend you for your hard work thank you for sharing with us all ❤
This was so great. Thank you for sharing your story!! It takes alot of balls to make a video about your mistakes. Your doing so well, keep it up!!
everything you discussed can be applied to life in general. it's like the same lessons just different people; thank you for being so open and vulnerable in this video
This was surprisingly insightful. Not just good advice for vtubing but for life in general
It's not just V-Tubers that should be taking this advice. Great video. I know this will help many content creators improve.
Yeah exactly!!! Thats how it should be :)
Thanks so much! I'm about to begin my VTuber Journey and your videos have been a really great help!!!!
just found your channel and its been super helpful, i just became a vtuber about a month ago and ive been struggling a lot, i also suffer from ADHD and i might possibly be autistic as well so pushing myself to get content out and on time has been very rough. ive been making a lot of these mistakes as well as playing games just for the hope of getting new veiws or follows rather then play games i actually enjoy. Thanks for all the helpful videos youve made theyve added a lot of insight on what ive been doing wrong and how to push foward 😊
This was amazing, some were the petty uncomfortable truths, some were the heartwarming and uplifting truths as well. Thank you
Well put together. This was inspiring for me who has really been on the fence for a year now of going from faceless cam streaming to becoming a V-tuber and be something more
This was a really helpful and motivating video
Thank you Xzekox :) I’m happy to hear that
saw this vid while looking for cons at picking up this hobby and you brought up a lot of good points! something I’d like to add is that sometimes, just thinking of it as a hobby and something to bond with others over helps me a lot with how I view my own content and interactions online! It could blow up, it could turn into a job, and that would be absolutely amazing! But hopes and dreams alone can’t pay anything when I move out, so a backup plan is always there! I’m still chasing that hope, still working towards that dream, and I’ve also accepted that it might not happen, which makes all the people who do support me all the more valuable to me, since they seem to genuinely enjoy what I write, draw, and do, which gives me more hope that others might enjoy it too! zero viewers or twelve likes, it doesn’t matter to me, as long as me and those who support me are having fun :)
i rewatch this video on a daily basis whenever i feel im getting lost on what actually matters, thank you for keeping it up, it really helps out
Fair enough random vtuber on my recommendations, you seem rad and well gosh darn it I'm in.
You're one of the many people who motivate me to become a vtuber. Thank you so much for making these videos, each and every one of them helps.
I can relate, even just as a content creator in general.
I am really glad this was relatable for you!!
duude. the transparency in comparison to other vtubers is amazing. This might turn into my favorite channel!
Thank you for this! I’ve been wanting to become a VTuber for all while now, and I’ve been working on a model, and it feels nice to hear your story and to realize that famous people are still people that started out where I am as well. Thank you so so much for this video!
I didn't know I needed this till it popped up in my recommended. Great video Mari, Thank you for making it. ^_^
Thank you for this video! It's literally the first time I see a video of yours. But I liked how you were direct and honest about the process. Take care
