    Technically:
All I did was powerpoint presentation in morning hours.
    Emotionally:
It was not the best, not the smoothest, but I was myself and shared true emotions, without necessary fake acting.
Tip from my side: find a VT group who gather VT, be it from your country (USA, Poland, Japan and so on), don't randomly ram in and ask that you DEMAND to be on your debut, baby steps are the most important, have strong PC, good idea for your character, constantly check out on other fellow VT.
Maybe someone will need help from you one day, being helpful and good person builds strong bonds.
Just don't get overwhelmed by it, keep cool head and remeber, you have your own life and you are just a mortal life form, you can be tired too.
    You deserve a rest.
(But if we think about being a VT, I dare to say that first VT ever featured in any media, wouldn't be Ene 'Takane' Enomoto from Mekakucity Actors anime, in a way ? Think about it :) )
Very nice and informative material, Mari-sama :)

My good man, just like @me qi asked, do you have any tips on finding said groups? Getting into vtubing scares me cos it looks and sounds like everyone knows what they're doing and it's just hard to find and talk to someone who's also a big noob to vibe with and struggle with.
(Ik struggling with someone sounds bad, but cmon. It's more stressful to talk to veterans just cos they feel so far away lol )

I am currently a minor in highschool who would love to do Vtubing or any sort of content creation. But as I slowly realized being in school and trying to do content is a lot harder than it sounds. So instead I've been watching videos and clips of others to try and find stuff to help prepair me when I think I am ready to try content creation; all whilst being able to focus still on my school work at the same time just incase it doesn't work as planned. This is probably one of the most helpful videos I've found other than a few clips of Vtubers themselves talking about it. Thank you! (:

    • @omarfish8940
      @omarfish8940 Год назад +11

There are ways you can get around such a struggle. I think the easiest way is to put aside 1-2 days per week for a longform stream and then cut up each stream into some compilations/general clips. Then, when you're done with creating the longform clip compilations cut up that video again to get short 1 minute videos that you can upload to shorts.
You get all of the benefits of uploading daily when in reality you're not making more than 1-2 videos per week and you're only doing 2 live streams per week

I know this is way old and you’re unlikely to see this, but I would recommend you try to do edited video content while in school. The nice thing is that you can come and go, wait for your mood to catch up with the humour, and adjust your editing schedule to your school workload. Doing that, I actually managed quite a few lower quality videos a week and about three lightly edited ones. Higher complexity edits take a long time to learn and do, so only so what’s in your means for time, skill, and software. I’d recommend to stick with cutting silence and bad takes, inserting funny clips, and funny effects, but definitely play with the power of keying/masking, panning, and recolouring. They are the basis for all visual effects.

A point mentioned but not elaborated on further at the end: Slow & Steady growth is good! You get to fully cultivate and shape the kind of community you wish to have. You also get to personally get to know your fans one-by-one and truly get to know who they are. Creating this connection captures peoples desire to stay and stick around, because they get to know you better too! Instead of always looking towards the future thinking of "why aren't I growing faster?", try to be in the moment more and enjoy those there already. This also creates a more positive atmosphere too! c:

I've been thinking about doing content creation for awhile. Seeing this video right now about vtubing, it makes a lot of sense and lines up with how other content creators, who don't do vtubing, are doing the same as people that are vtubers. This video is very informative on how vtubing works. I actually didn't know much about it (because I am new to the vtubing community and only saw the surface level of things)

I would love to do vtubing but I won't because I think it is not worth it given my bland personality and boring interacting skills, but I still watched the whole video. It is just well-made and engaging, and I learned lots of things in just a few minutes. Despite me having no plans on being a vtuber, I can still relate this video to other aspects of my life, which makes me feel more inspired in continuing to do the things that I am currently doing. Thanks.

      @JohnnyYeTaecanUktena Год назад +8

There are actually plenty of bland famous people and no i am not talking about the name Bland, yes that is a thing, i am talking about personality types. You can turn your blandness and boringness into the very gimmick itself that attracts the attention of others, hell you can even go as far as turning your plainness into a parody of a mundane and boring person and there are plenty of Anime and such that does this. Hell even games do this just look at Larry from pokemon scarlet and violet a boring everyday Joe Normal Type user which somehow a lot of people like. Hell people like Squidward from Spongebob as they are a great contrast from your everyday extravertedness and the more people age the more they fall in line with Larry or Squidwards way of thinking
A sense of connection/relatableness of belongingness of community that's what these popular boring people fictional or not bring to the table to make up for what they lack. So turn your bland personality and boring interacting skills into a gimmick and own it as people will come for you, and granted it will be slow if you are not adhd and extroverted but it does happen
The important part is sadly getting your name out there which is the hardest part and if you do not then no one is going to watch you even if you are not boring

Ever since I was young I wanted to do the RUclips stuff other people were doing, like playing video games or chatting with their fans online, but I never wanted to show my face before despite wanted to show my reactions and face! But I just wanted that block between online me and irl me, it's part of the reason I don't really use social media to show off myself physically.
When I heard about vtubers I was really interested, but I didn't get too far into it because I was busy with school and I already had other things to watch to help me stress less, but now I'm starting to look more into it as a real idea and/or plan. I still want to do something else as my main job and/or hobby, but this really sparks my interest and may be something I set up one day.
Maybe on the break I have after high-school?
(I plan to take a break after high-school before I go to college)
But worse come to worse I wait until I'm done with college and then do it! :3

To my perspective , It really is all about the personality and how you connect with your viewers, if your a fun loving personality you can build a healthy fond community of people that likes your content , based of your personality is how people views you for you, so yeah , and this is what got me into vtubing , just casually wanting to talk with people , and even create a community , but its a long way to go, good luck !

I’m actually taking notes on this vid. Though the hololive part caught me off guard. I know that they exist, but i don’t watch them. And yes, it is content creation. If there’s one thing i can relate about this video is to be realistic with our expectations. If there’s one thing to add is to have a survey on yourself and gave it a score out of 10. Having after stream surveys and reviews on posted videos can give insights on what sections needed improvement. It’s also good for story telling on your journey if you so inclined. For me, i will do this once i made debut because i care about the community that we will have and for ourselves too

But then I look at what I need to do to make it perfect and I get overwhelmed and shut down... long story short... it's a work in progress 😅 but I'll get there. I'm trying to learn new things one at a time and work on making it as best as I can while trying to make myself realize that it will never be perfect and I need to let it go otherwise I will never go anywhere. But I will get there 😁

the hard truths part is true. I'm a web novelist and the best advice I give out is
"underestimate how much you can write."
as in if you think you can do one chapter every three days maybe start with one a week instead because you can always upgrade to more and your fans will be happy but if you reduce the fans you've built wont be as happy with it while extras randomly will be loved.

i think eventually every more-or-less-big-vtuber gonna be basically an individual TV show. If that happens i wonder what are new faces gonna do to make it to the big, coz as time goes on, Vtubing (and content creation overall) becoming more professional and competitive, and i guess quality we see now watching someone like gura or korone most likely gonna be pretty common for an indiTubers right after debut. Crazy and amazing world we live in...

Rule of three always works best. You can have more than 3 aspects but having 3 main things is more memorable. So for example your a Cat girl, Sleepy aesthetic and you like muffins. You choose your main 3 things and go heavily into them. Make your design show them and make sure talk about them in some way. It help build your brand.

This singlehandedly made me create a complete APA essay asking myself these questions and answering them
I understand that most vtubers have a separate character to be as when they stream, but what if i just want to be me technically? people would say if you want to be you, just use a webcam, but I'm talking about me as my own persona, my own alter ego that i wished i was, would that be in any way relatable or even enjoyable? I think it may be to some extent because people relate to irl more than the characters some vtubers make themselves and I'm just going for the balance of being relatable as a human and also enjoyable as a character. This is all mostly because i really just want to be myself when i stream/record, but i don't want to show my irl face.

I've certainly thought about being a vtuber and half wanted to be for awhile
But at this point vtubing is flooded enough I'd have to have something really interesting to gain any attention, and quite honestly at this point I'm probably too depressed to actually do it and get anywhere assuming i could even start in the first place
It's weird, on one hand i feel like streaming and just goofing around is one of the few things i could do, but on the contrary the expectations to meet in order to be noticed are high enough that even that feels far out of reach now
I don't want to over hype myself and do tons of over exaggerated reactions because that'd feel disingenuous for me (nevermind feeling incredibly self conscious being loud with my neighbors in a house that isn't that sound proof) which is kinda a shame because that stuff is typically what gets clipped and what gets attention
And my situation, kinda makes it difficult to do anything needed to get started in the first place
my internet sucks (it loves to just cut out at random, on top of being generally too slow to keep up an HD stream at 3mbps up at best)
my computer sucks (my primary daily PC was built in 2013, no joke it's literally just that old it turns 9 in a month, so the avatar rendering + OBS kinda chomps up a good chunk of what little GPU and CPU i have even with facial tracking offloaded, and any fancy new games are out of the question entirely even without vtuber stuff running)
I'm too broke to buy any kind of better computer or any interesting new games (i could play mostly indie stuff i already own at least, but my library isn't that big and most aren't exciting) and my location is too remote to get better internet
And perhaps the biggest blocker, I'm generally not in a great place internally, depressed enough i can't really force myself to do normal work to deal with the above issues, and depressed enough my personality and motivation is kinda just like that of a pile of black bananas (might be great with the right help but generally pretty useless and almost nobody actually follows through with the banana bread plans) and i can't really get much help being in the middle of actual nowhere in a place that just forgot to recognise people who can't drive as people (rural america is great isn't it /s)
And another pretty big blocker though this kinda is directly related to the above is the fact that I'm not far off from being IRL mute, speaking only the bare minimum most days, and being too paranoid to even dare speak into a mic unless i know for sure nobody will overhear
So yeah, unfortunately whatever i theoretically might be able to create if i had the energy and chance, probably just won't get to be realised, I'm too stuck in the tar pit to even start, and oops i accidentally sadge posted in a RUclips comments section again, sorry for having to read this, i can't imagine many people will read this (yt algo might hide it for being depressio, though maybe that might be for the best)
If anybody reads this, i don't really expect to get anything (i have too many trust issues to accept much help anyways) but i guess at least thanks for reading my scrambled ramble bramble
And I guess if any up and coming or current vtubers read this, just know whatever hardships you've had along the way, you at least made it past the starting line, you got the chance to just do it and you did it, you've done what people like me couldn't and even if you don't make it big that's at least something that you yourself have succeeded with
And if anybody reads this and relates to any of my storm of issues, i guess you can take relief in knowing that you're not alone here (go ahead and reply with whatever you have, i posted my dump here so it's only fair)

    Hi, Mari!
Yesterday, I started on my own Vtuber. I have my concept and story for her all planned out... And this video really helped a bunch. I’ll probably be making different social media accounts to promote after I get everything set up. I’m really nervous though. I really hope that people like her! And I really hope you see this so that you know how much you helped me!

I knew vtubrrs existed before but I never really cared/ was that interested in them. But lately I really wanted to stream but just didn't want to show my face, I thought this was a good idea but goodness is going to be a rough ride. I'm excited though 😊

You kind of crushed my ego how to be a successful vtuber then I started ranting how nobody tells me what to do for 10 minutes. And my ego is back and I would like 2 thank you for putting gasoline on the wood. That has sent my spirit a Blaze.

Thank you! This video is very useful^^ I'm in vtube community for a longer time and I'm thinking of starting my vtube carrier too, tho I'm kinda scared and I dont think of me as of a person that can entertain other people or be somehow unique and all that stuff that makes someone memorable 👁👁 but I'll never know until I'll give it a shot! Ty again^^ and have a great day/night
