    Just installed on my Jeep JL. Once you watch the video they're very easy to install. They came packed to withstand a nuclear bomb. Once installed they are very strong.

    This would probably look great on my 2 door especially since I need to carry more fuel than everyone due to our fuel tanks shrinking.

      Sorry to hear about that! Can you let us know how many washers we provided in total and we can confirm that we had some missing? if that is the case, we will get you taken care of for our mistake. Looking forward to hearing from you!

      Me, too. Pain to stop the flow as you unpack to go get them. Luckily I had an Ace Hardware nearby. .23 cents per stainless steel washer!

    What is the size of the mounting plate?

  • @michaelkahut
    @michaelkahut 2 года назад +3

    Should you add the Roto Pax Pack mounts to the Trail Rax mounting plate before you install the assembly on the Jeep?

    • @trailrax
      @trailrax  2 года назад

      This is a great question! And the answer is yes. Adding any mounts to the mounting plate before install will make it easier. For Pak Rax that are already installed onto the vehicle, you can also remove the mounting plate on its own, attach your mount to the mounting plate, and then reattach the mounting plate back to the vehicle.

    On the JL hardtop the upper rubber puck is about 3/4" away from the body of the hardtop. Is this puck even necessary and a design carryover from the JK model? I'm tempted to remove it but wanted to ask your opinion. (Unless I mounted in wrong and all 4 are supposed to be in contact with the hardtop! LMK)

    • @trailrax
      @trailrax  7 месяцев назад +1

      You are right in your guess! It is a design carry over that is more of less used to mount shovels at this point.

    Do you have the link to the red gas tank?

    • @trailrax
      @trailrax  2 года назад

      The red gas tank shown is a RotopaX fuel can. We stock their 2 gallon and 4 gallon fuel tanks and those can be found on our online store!

    The mounting plate are screwed on the inner holes of the base plate, however in the video at 5min 20sec, this appears to be bolted to the outside holes (like the JK). Question, does it matter, can the mounting plate be installed on the outside on JL ?

    • @trailrax
      @trailrax  3 месяца назад

      Hey! Great question, You can mount the vertical arms in the JK position if you would like, we have found it is best to mount to the inner holes but either one works because of the adjustability the JL offers with the rain gutters. Let us know if you have anymore questions!

    • @eilshgo
      @eilshgo 3 месяца назад

      @@trailrax does it rattle if the arms are on the outside holes due to the lack of support?

    • @trailrax
      @trailrax  3 месяца назад

      It should not rattle.

    I just received mine and missing 8 washers, but that's if i have to add the washers to the lower rubber washers as stated in the video.
    So do i have to add the 8 washers?
    I also noticed at the end of the video that you installed the plates further away with the rotopax

      @trailrax thanks for the quick response 👍 but I don't think I will need to add the washers as I have no clearance issues and noticed if I add the washers, I will barely have any thread to bite But if it's required, I have a lot of the same size washers, but I just wanted to confirm if it's actually required.

    • @trailrax

      @@This_is_My_Story If you have no clearance issues, you are totally fine then! the additional washers would essentially be there for customers who do need them to fill gaps.

      @trailrax I thought as much, for me I have no clearance issues at all.
      Really liking the overall build and quality 👌 now I am just waiting for my Rotopaxs to arrive.

    Doesn't seem like the holes line up with the rotopax mount. I can't figure out how to get more than 2 screws into the rotopax mount. Want to explain that better?

    • @trailrax
      @trailrax  Год назад +4

      Do not use the round plate that comes with the Rotopax DLX or LOX mounts, this should solve all your misalignment issues. You will mount the Rotopax mount directly to our mounting plate.

    1st Time Users, BEWARE: The rubber shock pads actually scratched my hard top roof ! I mounted the PakRax correctly and after my first time off roading with the PakRax mounted to my Jeep, I came home, unmounted the rax from my Jeep, ... and noticed the rubber disc pads had rubbed the side of my hard-top roof , leaving permanant circular wear marks !
    Now, I use some auto protection tape to protect my newly damged roof to prevent further damage.....BEWARE !
