  • This is an old video. It was originally published on my gear channel, but I'm merging my channels back together and moving old videos over. Sorry for any confusion, I still have the Gladiator. And while my channel may feel like it is just QVC on RUclips, it isn't more adventure videos are on the way. I promise.
My overland vehicle is far from a budget overland build, quite the opposite. This Jeep build has taken a lot of time and cost a lot of money to get to become my favorite overland build yet. As much as I love to talk about a budget overland builds, my Jeep is not one.
See below for the full parts list and price breakdown of every part added to this perfect overland vehicle.

$100k is a breathtaking amount and that’s excluding any labor costs incurred in the various installations. Add all that and my guess your pushing $120k. Twice the Jeep itself
    RUclips must be paying well.
    Congratulations!

I just dropped $130k OTD (sales tax alone was $12,000 🤦‍♂️)for a 2023 20th Anniversary Rubicon AEV (only 150 made) which has most of this gear on 37” tires and 4.56 gearing but doesn’t have: the tent, ham, fridge, goose, batteries, some smaller goodies or that amazing extra gas tank. I will want to get paint protection film $7000 and ceramic coating and $1300 recovery gear and a lot more. It never ends!

Great video. It would be nice to go over what you like and don't like. Maybe what you would do differently if you built a new JL. For example, I have the same dual battery from Genisis offroad and to be honest I would have not done that system If I could and gone to a bigger battery. It seems to work okay for the fridge but will only work for like 1 to 3 days without a charge.

Since these visors mount inside the window frames, I'm wondering if they're letting more air noise in than other visors that mount on the door frame. What are your thoughts? 🤙🤷‍♂

Jeep Corporate has lost their minds and there should be a complete overhaul of the company - CEO down to US Mgr. Seriously, Jeep is an iconic brand that has gone from the inexpensive and simple -anyone can work on it - Jeep 4x4 to a luxury $100k+ SUV. I recall being in awe of a friend’s dad’s Grand Wagoneer in 1976. Expensive for the time, but not like today. When median income is significantly less than the cost of a Jeep, the company has clearly fallen off the trail. Poor gas mileage and outrageous pricing - the Jeep brand is sinking fast. I can buy a 2017 Wrangler, do most of the upgrades I want and work on it for myself about $15k. $100,000.00 is just not a number that will allow most people to stay current with the brand. I know, I can get a Wrangler new for about $50k. But even at $50k it is a huge lift for folks that like to drive off the paved roads. So for now, I think I will stick with the old CJ - it’s paid for and runs great.

That said, it’s difficult for many to look at the work involved in managing a RUclips channel. A lot only see the “free products” but miss seeing the 18 hour days working of producing that “easy look”. As much as products may have been donated, they were paid for in my time and effort to promote. Nothing is free in this world.

@@jackbauer9347 ok. Here’s this for honesty. I often don’t get paid in cash for my work, but I get paid in parts and gear. I’m still working for it and my time is just as valuable as anybody else’s. Although I may not have exchanged currency for some items used on my build, I definitely exchanged work that matches the monetary value of the products - as agreed by the manufacturers. I paid for them, just not in the traditional way you might pay for them. However, you’re welcome to start a channel, learn filming, editing, marketing, and use those skills in trade for product too. It isn’t exclusive to me.
I get these types of comments all the time, and I think it is an outside looking in type of comment. 80 hour work weeks managing a channel for tires or suspension isn’t exactly a fare shake every time. But you’re welcome to see it your way.
