Yea for sure. They're still in my garage. The jeeps were awesome, just needed more space. Send us a message on instagram and we can get them shipped out to you.
@@roamingwithjosh I kinda looking for mounting the 4-gallon on the tire-mount with the strap over spartire like what you did before you modified the mount for the maxtrax. That's the reason I came across your video.
Do you find that the extra packs on the side of the jeep end up getting in the way on trails etc etc... Clearence issues on very narrow trails or close to cliffs and rocks?
The link to the mount and the rotopax is separate from the TrailRax Mount that goes on the jeep. You can find that at Trailrax.com. Sorry for the confusion on that.
Just curious if you have stock suspension, I’m also trying to build my rig and add all that weight. I do have a 2” lift with rancho adjustable shocks for now...thanks bro
Just saw this video! I love the concept of this product and the amount of space I’d be saving. The scratches and marring is one thing I’m concerned about too but after seeing your solution, I might have to pull the trigger on this product. Did you happen to make a review on it and how it held up after some use??
Hey, dude! I have not made a follow up video, but I will say the product held up well. I believe @trailrax has made some updates to it since I bought it which should make it even better.
Thank you! They held up decently. If you put them on I would recommend keeping them on full time. The brackets that slide under the hardtop started to bend after I took them on and off a few times. It also caused scratches to the hardtop that I could have lived without and that's why I added some double-sided velcro. This was a pretty early model so hopefully, that stuff is worked out.
Hey brother, I realized at the end of the video that you may not know that your water cans are designed to lock into each other at the bottom. Maybe you did realize and just wanted to be able to pull them off individually.
Thank you for the video! It's been quite awhile now, but I'm curious, did you upgrade to the locks with the keys, or did you stick with the basic locks?
it did damage the rain gutters a little bit, a few deep scratches. We do still use it because it's the only way I can carry that much full with our current setup on the JL.
Hey great video love the honesty. Next time you take the tanks off the jeep Could you kindly let us know how far apart those holes are. Not bashing their product was considering buying until im seeing literally how simple it would be to make myself. Reason I would is because my roof rack is not attached and I keep a very expensive tent up there. So I want to make the bottom legs fold under the hard top and and bolt under it. Then bolt onto my roof rack. Then it would be an extra pain for anyone to try to steal all of the 3 then combined items. Or should I try to take a drive out there and help improve their product a little? Thats what I really want. I could steal yours in sec if I was a dick and knew the price of it. Just a heads up. Your water tanks should also connect to be one big tank and still fit the locks to be harder to steal if your only using one lock on either side.
Yea I can do that. Which holes are you referring to so I know what to measure? We’re making our way out west now so I could probably do it when I fill the tanks up.
I’m curious if you feel like they were worth the money now after a little while of having them installed? I went to buy them myself until I saw I was going to be around $600-$700 just in the trailrax plus rotopax mounts. I have a hard time feeling like that’s a fair price personally. Looks good though! :)
Having this mount when we are traveling with our son definitely frees up room inside the jeep and that is a big help. When just my wife and I travel we probably wont use them only because we don't need that extra bit of room inside the Jeep. It really depends on how many you have and what kind of space you need inside the rig. The price is a bit steep, but I already had the RotoPax and the mounts so it was less expensive for us. Overall the the Trailrax held up well and we took it into some serious spots so as far a durability is concerned its a good system. Hope that helps, dude!
I’m glad I found this. $500 seems like a lot to spend on this for the product you get out of it.
Agreed. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks for taking the time to share your modifications.
Morbius must’ve really bombed at the box office if Jared Leto is doing DIY Jeep mod videos.
lolol I respect and appreciate that comment more than you will ever know.
Use 3M clear protective tape on the rain gutter and lower top
We ended up using double sided velcro and only used the soft side to prevent damage and it worked out pretty well!
@@roamingwithjosh what did you do to protect the paint?
@@MasterEggroll I used double sided velcro on the tongue of the mount, the soft side.
Hi, I'm late for the post and I'm curious if these would obscure your blind spots?
They definitely do!
I have these mounts. Great place for mounting water. But geez, for $500 the holes, etc should be perfect.
Agreed!
wish the jk version didn't need holes drilling in the topper
I didn’t know that was the case. That’s brutal!
What is the size of the mounting plate?
I'm not entirely sure on that.
@@roamingwithjosh Could you please help me measure the size?
So when you purchase the mount, you still have to purchase the RotoPax mounts separate is that correct? The mount doesn't come with 4 Rotopax mounts?
That is correct. It sucks, but that's the way it goes I guess.
Can you update the link
Just give trailrax a google
Since you no longer have the wrangler are you interested in selling them? Missing the Jeep videos.
Yea for sure. They're still in my garage. The jeeps were awesome, just needed more space. Send us a message on instagram and we can get them shipped out to you.
Thanks for sharing! Great solution for mounting the Rotopax fuel and water containers. Just added these brackets to our wishlist! 👍🏽
It’s a great storage option! Glad the video was helpful. P.S - we have “the dash” poem on the wall in our office, great choice of RUclips name!
Over 2 years, the frame of the two mounts getting rusted, and water dripped from that two supporting columns, leaving rusty print on the body paint
I'm not going to say I had the best experience with them either to be honest. They scratched my hardtop a lot.
@@roamingwithjosh I kinda looking for mounting the 4-gallon on the tire-mount with the strap over spartire like what you did before you modified the mount for the maxtrax. That's the reason I came across your video.
Right on! It's a workable solution.
Do you find that the extra packs on the side of the jeep end up getting in the way on trails etc etc... Clearence issues on very narrow trails or close to cliffs and rocks?
Not really, if anything it's extra protection for your windows. The biggest back is losing visibility because the cans are in your line of sight.
Confused on the link to the mount. It doesn’t show the full mount that attaches to the side of the Jeep. Is that included ?
The link to the mount and the rotopax is separate from the TrailRax Mount that goes on the jeep. You can find that at Trailrax.com. Sorry for the confusion on that.
See that you have the link to purchase the mount but what about the rack ??? Where do I get it ?
Nice video just subscribe
The rack for the tent?
Sorry the rack for the Rotopax
@@TNEZCHANNEL trailrax is who makes the mount.
Thanks !!!
Good solution..but, it doesn't fit with the soft top..
Thanks for sharing it 👋🏻😉
Thanks for watching!

The suspension is still stock and I get a lot of sag when we travel. I'm going to be changing that soon for sure.

I didn't know that at all, bro! I appreciate the info. I would definitely want to pull them off individually, but I had no clue they locked together.
Curious how much of your visibility in the side mirrors is impacted .? Love the concept.
You lose about 30% or so. Having those back windows covered up is the most visibility loss.
@@roamingwithjosh Thx! Just ended up with 2 more roto pax so I'm going to give it a go on at least one side.
Thank you for the video!
It's been quite awhile now, but I'm curious, did you upgrade to the locks with the keys, or did you stick with the basic locks?
I stayed with the regular lock system. I’ve been fortunate to never have an issue with them up until this point.
Thanks for the video! Did the Mount end up damaging your keep anymore? Are you still using the mount?
it did damage the rain gutters a little bit, a few deep scratches. We do still use it because it's the only way I can carry that much full with our current setup on the JL.

500 for this mount is rob!
I don’t disagree.
Is that bracket made by Rotopax? I must have missed it on their website... link?
The bracket is made by Trailrax. They also sell the rotopax mounts and cans on their site. www.trailrax.com/
LOD destroyer back bumper can carry jerry cans and its more practical.
I’m trending in that direction, but I like to try new things as much as possible to get the rig packed out properly.
Forever & Today 是
For $500 plus the packs and the brackets that close to $800. Rather save another $1200 and get a secondary gas tank from Longranger american
Not a terrible idea. At the time this video was made that was not an option. I would suggest you do exactly that. Thanks for the comment!

Why do you need so much stuff lol

wayyyy too long clip for this install....

The constant wiggling of the camera is nauseating
LOL I apologize,. This was a video from the very beginning and to say I didn't know anything is an understatement.
Could just glue some bicycle intertube rubber on those
Really good idea!
