I'm good with the rail gun change. It felt too easy to take it at Hard and above. Now it feels more like a choice. Haven't fully tested it vs bots, but Chargers and bile titans feel like their first encounters, needing coordination and comms. At first, a charger was an instant call out, then it became just another bug, now its back to a call out/ping.
Honestly I'm glad I won't be seeing every other Diver with the railgun/shield combo. I want all stratagems to be viable to mix it up as much as possible.

To be fair, it ain't easy to blow yourself up. Has never happened to me in all the time using the unsafe modo, safe modo was simply faster to shot, and you need speed when dealing with armored enemies
Played the super heavy armor, the one that looks like it has extra padding and damn I can feel the 200 defense, if scavengers get closer to me and I have a way of dealing with them their damage is pretty small, just gotta kill em before getting slowed too much
Yeah. I can tank like 7-8 hunter hits while I reload. Also, you can take a charger rush and onky loose 1/4 health unless it pins you against terrain. My buddy and I tested it vs spore explosions, I lost maybe 10% and he lost 30% with medium armor.
You must run the railgun in unsafe mode to shoot anything medium or larger. 3-5 times. Light armor now takes more damage per hit so looks like considering medium and heavy armor might be a requirement. Personal shield now takes like 10 seconds to re-shield. So requires moving around after hit. Some other weapons buffs. Hmm using slower armor is going be the big change.

Spray and pray is actually a viable weapon now! Spray and pray + flamethrower is my new thing. Can down a charger with a flamethrower in like 4 seconds.
Grenades need a massive buff. They should wipe small crowds and damage heavy's. I haven't played with the new setup but if they are going to nerf they should hopefully just change strategies rather than just make weapons less effective.

The las canon is not functioning as intended at the moment, because the patch notes said it hast armor pen and dmg towards durable body parts, but again this is not properly working right now and needs to be fixed.

How to avoid meteor storm: Look *down* and juse your MMO brain. Find a shadow to stay in. The meteors will light up the area that they're landing on, and that light will grow brighter and zoom in on the point of impact. Avoid it and stay alive!
After playing last night a good bit I think the underrated buff is the visibility changes and flashlight buff is crazy nice, I was avoiding danger easier because I could actually see lol
I think the rebalancing is near perfect. Everyone is upset as the nerfs, but based on my testing the breaker railgun, and Shield changes that if they started out this way, they would not the overwhelming fan favorite combo that they were pre patch. They are only the fan favorite because they were frankly just so OP that most just felt like they were handicapping themselves if they used anything else. Now that most everything else has been buffed to some degree that players are goong to be doing a lot more experimenting and the favorite weapons are going to become a hell of a lot less homogeneous. And those complaining that there's nothing to work for anymore because you got the railgun at 20 just need to can it and realize there's a hell of a lot more point to playing besides getting one stupid, over powered weapon, and even a hell of a lot more to work towards besides just reaching level 20 lol. There's not supposed to be a power climb, just unlocking more variety in the toys you can play with and strategies you can do
They buffed the truly useless weapons and they nerfed the clear cut OP weapons. This is a solid leveling of the playing field. Now in future balance changes they can more easily implement changes across the board.
No weapon was op, just top tier. The phrase "op" is thrown around like candy nowadays. Give a mediocre player a railgun and let him solo difficulty 7-9. Will the railgun carry him? Not a chance. An op weapon would though.
I literally only use the railgun in unsafe mode so it’s all good for me. And making the unsafe mode less viable is fair to me. Basically, it can still be a very powerful weapon it seems. It just comes with a risk now, seems fair
This would of been the perfect game for devs to break out of the "nerfs as balance", but sadly they failed. It would of felt a lot better to uplift the under performing weapons, rather than heavily nerf the few working ones. Ammo reduction should never happen in a game like this, due to the possible endless spawning. I just feel the devs really missed a chance to do something different...
I guess that’s up to the players to decide. For me it feels stronger to run anti tank or recoilless now with the scorcher. Still takes care of everything big in seconds

No I’m not happy with the nerfing like they left all the assault rifles alone. They all fucking suck you might as well just use the SMG. It does so much more damage and has like the same mag so nothing on that was addressed and then they just went. Oh yeah, Nerf the breaker for no reason other than it’s just good.
I will preface my comment by saying when it comes to patches I use the "wait and see" approach before making any judgements. But honestly, my first impressions are pretty disappointing. Nerf the Breaker, it definitely had it coming. But only two primary weapon buffs? And it was to two shotguns? C'mon now. What about the assault rifles? What about the scythe? There's still too many primary weapons that just feel underwhelming right now. I didn't want to use the Breaker all the time, but it was the first weapon I unlocked that actually felt like it did the job it was created for. And I'm sorry, the flamethrower and laser cannon aren't going to replace the Railgun simply because they require you to stop moving while using them. I'm sure that'll be fine when you are only dealing with one charger, but when there's 4 chargers, a bile titan, a horde of hunters and a stalker on your ass, can you really afford to stand there burning one charger? And good luck using the laser cannon against bots and their proclivity for one shotting you. I really don't like this patch on paper. Maybe ill end up being wrong and things will work out in practice, but I really think they should have focused their efforts on buffing the wide range of underwhelming weapons we are currently left with before they started nerfing the few that actually did their jobs well.
they went with the EZ way out :( lazy its not to to bad some of it did need to b tweekt but that mind set means they will just nerf anything that's good or meta & im no fan of every1 using the same stuff .but thats y i think thy should add clases & trees to incentive different builds & rolls like medic/ engineer /heavy/ scout adding a long term progression & replayability. because i unlocked everything in like 2weeks & feel like its just game over man game over.
Even though the Railgun got nerfed I’m still gonna use my main weapon it’s the weapon I had the most fun with fighting the high lvl bots n bugs this patch just makes the game harder for us solo players but I’m not givin up my railgun n I’m not backin down from high lvls 💯 I just gotta get better at the game 🫡🎮🔥💯🎯

5:32 you misspoke, it has a decreased ammo capacity per mag, the 40>60 is a buff to the Punisher and it's Slugger variant.

U just use the Railgun now like u use the autocannon against chargers, let them rush by, shoot the back of their Backlegs, still works great

Grenades do kill small crowds and can kill a tank in 2-3 hits to the turret.

Helldive difficulty got way harder. In the last 2 games I played, we got over runned and keeped getting killed easily

lol what? I was disappointed because it was a Nerf not a buff. I was hoping we were going to be getting a buff to the rifles as opposed to the nerf.

There is ZERO reason to nerf things in a PvE game.

I guess the railgun calibration will bother the solo players. Game is much more fun in a team. We took out a bile titan with no rail. Charger too.
