    I had an interesting experience on Layton one night ago. I shot a blacktail buck level 4 who weighed about 87,5 kilos. The interesting with this deer was that it had the tiniest rack which you see on the level 1 males. It scored around 90 in trophy rating which gave it a bronze…Normally when you glance heards of deer and you see that tiny rack you don’t even bother spotting them since you now they are most likely level 1 or 2. Have never seen this combination of high weight and tiny rack ever before in the game.

    I found a forum on in which someone actually extracted a read the code of the game for respawns. It is a random number generator in a fixed range for different animals, lets say between 33 and -33 for moose. so when you harvest an animal the code randomly selects an number within that range and adds it to whatever weight for the animal you harvested. So if it picks 22 the weight goes up by that, if it picks -22 it goes down by that, then respawns after 15 minutes real time. herd management works because you can only produce a GO or Diamond after harvesting a high level animal, then getting a high or max number in the random number generator. Killing low level animals will not produce a Diamond or GO respawn because the number added cannot be high enough due to the fixed range. Also this is solely based upon weight, there is no trophy score in this process at all. Zone management works because you must harvest an animal to create a respawn, if you are working too many zones then the respawn could be anywhere you harvested an animal. Another interesting thing this person looked into is the number of Diamonds on any given map after a pop reset. It's almost Always 3 of any large species on that map.

      @@chrisgreen4576 This all adds up to my theory! Thanks for this! Proves my point that it’s all based on weight and with a properly managed herd it isn’t as random as it may seem! I've noticed some of these patterns during my first ever grind for GO Moose. I could almost tell when the spawn cycle was getting better, then once I harvested the big boys on my map, the dice would roll again and so on. Made a lot of mistakes in my initial setup, accidentally shot a female or two, and took awhile to figure out that herds and solos were sharing zones. Once I sorted all that out, bam Great One. Interesting how grinds can differ on species too, for example you don't have to mess with any solo male moose. Just focusing herds got me my GO. Thanks for your thoughts! There's definitely something to this theory, if not it actually being right on the money.

      I’ve notice the similar things! My first HM videos are honestly outdated the more I’ve grinded. I pressed new game about 6 months ago and need to set up a white tail grind as an example… I did my moose grind again and I stacked max weight estimate makes, didn’t care if it was a 5, diamond potential or any other factors and if I’m behind honest, it ended up shooting down my zones even faster than trying to only put diamonds to stack. My first grind was 2100 with Hm no G1… my new grind, 378 with a G1. I am willing to bet I am right, but I love love love hearing others views and thoughts!

    there’s one tiny problem in your explanation now I’m typing this after watching the videos so I think the theory is great but like I said, there’s one problem Jackson I think it’s his name said in a hunter called the wild live stream that they removed the weight class to level system because there was a glitch in the game that let you put two points into one skill tree, and one point into the other skill tree, which let you see in animals, exact weight and even though they do use the same system he confirmed that the system was changed so that says to me that it’s running off of an entirely different system, but with the original one still in there, and if I dare say a little bit that Jackson kind of confirmed/disconfirmed that there can be naturally spawning great ones and it was a bug that they removed so he said in his own statements that I’m not going to say whether there is or there isn’t, but we haven’t seen a naturally spawning great one in the community since the game released, which basically just confirmed that yes you can’t spawn a great one naturally unless you’re hacking but he did semi confirm this so it’s always possible but very very unlikely and the fact of the matter is is that no matter what to get a great one it’s based off the leveling scale. I do think the theory is a good one though because of the whole weight system idea so. it isn’t really a theory that I can fully say doesn’t work or it doesn’t exist, but it’s also a theory that I can’t deny either or accept because he raises some interesting points as like he said the great one fallow deer at max level will always spawn with the spoon/Mickey Mouse rack so it’s very suspicious. I’ll have to say, but this can easily be proven as once a great one spawns it’s randomized the weight and the rack except for that one but that’s a longshot at best so well I can’t say that this is true. I also can’t say this is false. It’s tricky.

    • @Luke-j8m
      @Luke-j8m 16 дней назад +1

      OK, there’s one more problem that I found in the recording. He said that’s why you’ll never see a level five medium white tail. There was actually a time where you could if you go back to the first release of the game on PC if you grind out and you found a great one Whitetail and then you left and rejoined the map. It would spawn as a level five instead of a 10 fable. So theoretically speaking at one point there was a five medium, but it got removed.

      @@Luke-j8m I honestly thank you for taking your time to write such a long and throughout response. It is a theory, and theories are meant to have holes poked or to be proven. I still think that weight plays a part since weight dictates levels. The guy you are referring to is jaxxybeard, and the thing that was fixed was the weight estimate tracking system. There was a way you could pick up a track and know the precise weight of the animal. Basically you could easily find diamonds and the game was broken at the time.

      @ yeah I don’t know like you mentioned you’ll never find a level one moose with a level five rack or you’ll never find a level one white tail max weight there’s a lot of ways. I’m sure people could say it’s wrong but like I said, you can’t deny that it makes more sense if you even just think about it a little bit at first I said to myself, his theory is crazy. They removed that weight system along time ago and then I remembered no they just removed a hack that could let you see the exact weight of diamonds and that was how people could hack and shoot the game cause that’s when diamonds only classified by the level by their weight, but then I started thinking it a little bit more like you said you’ll see Max animals with only certain kinds of racks like the great one fellow deer only at its max level can have the spoon rack but it can choose between five different variations of the color of its fur and I thought to myself again this makes it harder for me to think that it’s disproven, but the evidence is starting to stack up and then eventually I just got to the point where I just said until further notice he’s right. By the way, I’m not the best at typing and I sometimes use speech to text while I’m typing so if there’s any spelling errors like I read one part that said like I said, but it was supposed to be like you said so that’s my bad.

I had no idea about the gameplay mechanism. And here's what happened (by the way, I have a print scr of all the trophies I shot) The first whitetail diamond weighed 97.29 kg /Trophy Rating 280.90 (2020 year), then the second one was 97.13kg /TR 257.50 (2020 year) and then one day I literally collided with GO (I mean - that's why this game remains #1 in my heart, I've never had such a rush of adrenaline in any game - ever) Yes, my friend, I got GO which was 103.30 kg /TR 407.60 (2021 year)This is my experience - what do you think about him? I think the antler roll could have more impact than you think. So you have to figure out a way to isolate the weight variable by itself. I think The best way to test your theory would be to set up 2 moose grinds. On one grind only keep your level 2’s with the smallest racks, and on the other keep your level 2’s that have the slightly larger antlers with both on the smallest weights. And see which one produces great ones more. If you can eliminate antlers from impacting the spawn rate of great ones, then your theory on weights would be correct. And I think you might be on to something with the consecutive harvest bonus maybe even getting added on as a small multiplier for large rolls.

    • @JBizHunts
      @JBizHunts  4 месяца назад

      @@jameshsi5505 the thing about antler rolls is that two animals, let’s say moose, who have the same antler but different levels, the higher level will weigh more. Two moose with similar antlers but different levels will always weigh less. Antlers attach to the bull in weight ranges. That’s why there are the big rack and little rack diamonds for most species, and weight is what separates them. I feel like every weight range has a “big rack” and “small rack” for the ranges in weight. Like there’s a big 3 rack and a little 3 rack for moose. Which, makes sense since the biggest level 3’s make gold and the smallest 3’s score similar to a big 2

    I’ve recently started a Great One Whitetail grind on Layton and am already seeing results which is great. But I do have a few questions for you (after watching this, your herd management videos and whitetail videos).
    First of all, thank you for the guides. I find scarecrow and ladylegend to be helpful but your guides have been much easier to understand. Anyways, my questions,
    1. If an animal is max weight but not diamond potential in a main zone, should I kill or save it? I’m assuming kill it but wanted to make sure.
    2. You mentioned to leave small level 2 bucks (antenna rack) and treat them like a level 1. My question involving that is what if I have a rack buck (not antenna) that scores less than the antenna rack? I kill anything that doesn’t have an antenna and is level 2 that aren’t potential diamonds. But I have some antenna racks that can score 190+ at max score. Then others that are max score 160’s. So far I’ve been leaving any level 2 antenna rack under 175.

      @JBizHunts  2 месяца назад +1

      @@coltonhisey8229 answer #1: There are two arguments: kill then and only keep max level (the highest weight) to drive down the herd… or dirty herd management and keep all max weight estimate even if they are level 2, since they will weigh enough to drop down the respawns… it’s your choice on how fast or proficient you want to do this… answer#2: just like max level animals can troll and they may have huge estimates, estimates can be misleading that an atenna rack will always score mid 150’s so my bet is an antenna rack with a 150-190 estimate will always score at the bottom and weigh the least and that’s why you don’t shoot them.

    What is the indication that your kill/harvest will influence your next spawn? I kill a 6 red deer, then I get a 4 for it. Then I kill the 4 and get a 9 diamond. Is it not that the game spawns completely random animals. Independetly of what was shot prior. And the higher the trophy rating the lesser the spwaning chance.

    • @JBizHunts
      @JBizHunts  4 месяца назад

      @@Inquisam there are still random factors in respawns. However, if only harvesting one animal and waiting the allotted time for a respawn is the only way to make this accurate. However, if you are shooting multiple males of the same animal they can swap zones. You could harvest a 6 in one zone and a 4 in another and their respawns swap. Making it seem like the 4 jumped to 9 and 6 went down to a 4. But in reality the 6 is what became the 9 and the 4 stayed a 4 but swapped.

    • @Inquisam
      @Inquisam 4 месяца назад

      Sounds logical. Somehow. Do all animals have an internal ID? Or is a 4 that spawns again in a different zone not actually a completely new animal? I really do not know it and would like to understand how people come up with the theory that individuals respawn again. Instead of a completely new random entity. The coding for random entities would be so much easier, with the same results. Therefore I am wondering, why so many people believe they can influence the respawns. Did the devs ever indicate something?

    • @JBizHunts

      @@Inquisam the animal population file is set when you first enter a map. If there’s 100 bears and 60 are female and 40 are male, those numbers never (shouldn’t) change. I’m not sure if they have an ID, but it make sense. You shoot bear A, B and C they all go into respawn. Their locations on the map can swap or change when they respawn, since all bears are solo. When a herd animal gets harvested the herd is static and if one animal gets harvested from zone 1, 2 and 3 the a, b,c can switch the zones, but their respawn is based on the harvested animal, but the location of spawn may be different than the original animal. Unless you shoot 1 male from 1 herd zone, and nothing else, it will have no other choice but to respawn into the same herd as there is no other “open chairs” for them to spawn into. I hope that answers the question.

    Way of the hunter also uses weight and culling male animals that have defective racksd and older females to helps grows the herd stronger. Cotw doesn't use elimination animals with bad racks but focuses on weight & males not female. I've been shooting small animals to keep the big ones around so offsprings are from the bigger animals but I don't think this works in cotw. I agree with your analysis that in cotw harvesting the larger animals the game will increase in difficulty by spawning larger animals that are smarter with spooking and weight. That's how the game progresses to challenge you. As far as G1, never seen one or got lucky. I have grinded for red deer but at this point, I find it more enjoyable to just play random then tent & tripod whole map. The whole beaver thing is annoying. I will use your advice and start going for larger animals and hope they respawn bigger ones.

    • @JBizHunts
      @JBizHunts  4 месяца назад

      Yes, when I won’t shoot any low level animals even outside of great one grinding. Like, if I’m out hunting Grizzly on Yukon Valley, I won’t shoot any Grizzly under level 5 for this very reason. The respawn has the best chance to be bigger if you leave the smaller ones on the map. For great ones though it’s just an additional to the current level difficulty system based on weight. So, the mechanic has to work similar since the underlying system is old and been around since 2017. Thanks for the comment! I own WOTH but haven’t gotten into it just yet! I’ll have to try!

    I managed to get a diamond every 10-20 kills by making sure all of my male tigers were lower weight estimates. 1 level 5 at 168-220. 2 level 6 at 220-272 and 4 level 7 at 220-272. I started with a level 7 at 272-324 but made sure he was gone before killing the only tiger I would shoot.
    I've had over 80 diamonds with 4 max weight, 2 were trophy score 60 and 2 were 59.7. I also had a mythical 8 score over 57 but I shot him in the head unaware he could even make diamond.

I did say at the end that it’s basically all RNG, but herd management does help by forcing the game to potential add more to a low level respawn. So, you basically proved it works! Awesome! Thank you
