- I've had a few viewers tell me that I need to "up my game" when it comes to searing sous vide steaks. In this video, I pull out all the stops and try out the Grillblazer Su-V gun. I'll tell you up front, I was not prepared for the power of this thing...
Is it worth the price? Watch the video and make that decision for yourself. For me, it was. Like the saying goes, "the difference between men and boys are the price of their toys".

I can't believe you tried that out for the first time IN DOORS!
Steve: Just about burns his kitchen down
Also Steve: Imma do that again
Probably the most entertaining video you've ever made! You have taken "boys and their toys" to a whole new level and your facial expressions when you lit that thing up were priceless. Not for me, but fun to watch. Thanks for the belly laugh!
"Arr-Arr...more power!" As Tim (another don't read the manual guy) pulls the trigger for full flame... burning down the studio set. Watching your video had me imagining that. Like yours, his face would be priceless too!
Those flames would have raised the temperature of my apartment by 10 degrees. Freaked me out. Very intertaining. Loved your enthusiasm and honesty.
The cut to you reading the manual was hilarious 🤣😂🤣
4th time watching this since it is so fun. Surprised that something didn't catch fire in the kitchen with that flamethrower. 😆
Looking forward to the tenderloin hack (slightly frozen?) and the umami dust...
You had me giggle a bit . When it wouldnt start the second time. I was picturing Clark Griswold pointing at his face ! LOL
Somewhere there's an ATF agent sweating out how they can gig him for the "supressor" and "high capacity magazine"..... That thing is sweet!
The look on your face was the same look my husband got last Father's Day when our son gifted him with a similar "tool"! However that tool was designed to burn out stubborn weeds, when attached to a propane tank. No pesticides required, and it amazingly prevented weeds from returning for several months. Can't wait to show my hubby this video! 😊
YOUR WIFE LET YOU DO THAT IN THE HOUSE? I need that. Up here we grill year round. That’ll even get the snow off the Bar B. Great review Steve. Cheers from Canader eh!
My wife was unware that this occurred. I'd like to keep it that way, so let's just keep it on the "down low". 😉
Laughing out loud during this video several times. Happy Father's Day!
Tim Taylor would have loved this haha
For sure. I was close to channeling him when I said “more power”. 😉
Note to Steve, put the fire department on speed dial.
That looks like a lot of fun! I ❤️ guns of all kinds, but never considered owning a flamethrower. A world of possibilities just opened up, none of them legal 🤣
Ok seriously now, that’s a cool gizmo. It looks as badass as you said it is! Have fun with it, and Happy Father’s Day
I love my Grillblazer. It gives me that Tim Taylor feeling everytime I light it up.
Oh, it produces a great sear too...😂
Thoroughly enjoyed this video on a Saturday morning, Steve. I had a smile on my face the whole time. You are like a kid in a candy store when it comes to trying out new gadgets. Think I will pass on this one.
Hilarious, LOL The look of surprise and awe on your face was priceless! Thanks!
Haha I would be too afraid to use that thing. I love my Ninja! Your enthusiasm is contagious and your grandson is adorable.
Where was your WIFE while you were filming that INDOORS?? My guess, not at home!
Loved your impish glee playing with this new toy. 😄
Lol! Reminds me of Jet car races...& Tim Allen grunting on Home Improvement😂.
I immediately sent the link to my son, who likes to buy bad-ass cooking accessories.
This is right up his alley!
Awesome! Thank you!
I actually laughed out loud when you "applied some heat." Funniest video in a while. I'm going to have to get one.
With gun and "Chef Bond" t-shirt, you need to turn the stand into a shoulder holster
Did anyone else see Steve jump when he lit the flame thrower? Great video this morning.
love how excited you are.
Steve as a chef I LOVE THIS THING TOO.....!!!!!!
Thanks for uping everyone's game.. lol....
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂You never disppoint!!!! You're SUCH a GUY!!!! Thank you for the best laugh all week!!!!!
I laughed out loud and couldn't stop when you said it was terrifying and awesome at the same time! Thanks for the entertainment!!
😂 The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great to see you having so much fun. Love your videos.
Steve I laughed so hard watching your reaction! Oh my gosh. It still makes me laugh. Wow that is some gadget! You could clear under brush on your land with that thing. Your new nickname has to be Torch! 🔥
I love this stuff. Great way to differentiate your content from the other keto channels.
Steve, I had to send your video to our two sons and son-in-law. They were like WOW. I probably would not use that to light fire works.
Love this one! Glad you didn't start your kitchen on fire!
The look on your face when you “applied some heat” AWESOME! Like the first time firing a gun and hitting the bullseye 😁 YEAH BABY!!
How long per side do you use the SEARTEQ? Flame size matters?
With the Searteq, I kinda have to "paint" with the flame, whereas with the Su-V, you can see that I can hit the entire steak (top and sides) with a properly aimed blast. I've never really timed myself with the Searteq, but I'd say it takes at least a minute per side, depending on the size of the steak and how much I need to hit perimeter.
Well if the Government ever does get around to taking our guns, you’ll still have your home defense plan in place 😀
Indeed. 😄
😂😂😂
Not sure how I missed this video? WAY too much fun! :)
Wowzers! That was a blast watching and even more entertaining were the remarks. 😆 my mouth was watering at that meat! I always love the gadgets you share. Thanks
Lololololo that was so funny,,, the blow torch 😂🤣😂
Steve again that was amazing. I had
to come back and tell ya that was
even better than that Packers Pez
dispenser. That was a flame thrower
I was very entertained by your expression when you turned that
baby up. That was truly bad ass.
Oh my god!! I must have one of these!! That flame was awesome!!!
Well goodness... I never needed a blow torch before... campfires, wood burner, logs, 🤪 however this looks cool 😎.
Blessings
Oh my goodness, had to watch after Chris mentioned it on the podcast...that is a serious torch! Wow!
Sure is. 😄
Holy Cow !! Both funny and terrifying at the same time - Steve going full Mad Max with the test !! :o)
Your face was awesome! Like a kid on Christmas morning
😂😂😂OMG This by far is now my favorite video you’ve ever made😂😂😂 So many great one liners, expressions & moments from start to finish; in fact I was 100% sold on needing to get one of these until you got to the price! 😳😱
Oh well I’ll think of it a nice to have maybe someday kinda item. 🤷🏻♂️
It changed my enjoyment of if not one iota. 😂👍😎
Love it!
I think this is the first video where I can honestly state, “Don’t do what Steve did”!
Your expression was priceless….I was worried about the ceiling and couldn’t help but think somewhere in the manual it might say for outdoor use. Lol. Problem I have is now I have to buy one like a lot of your other gadgets. Thanks.
Neat video!
OMG you're such a guy! 😂 I can't imagine any reason I would need such a flame, and you got such a thrill from that terrifying display!
AWESOME!!!!!! I've gotta get me one!!!!
This made me smile. 😊
Back at ya
I had to pause the video after that initial startup demo cause I was LAUGHING so hard! ROFL!
I've had one for a while and absolutely love it. My first expression was the same as yours, kid in a candy store with a golden ticket. I did same thing you did and used the grill as a place to sear the steak, i set the grill on fire. I now use a sheet pan and a heavy duty rack.
Steve , I have never laughed so hard
That was AMAZING .
Happy Father's Day, Steve. Your face said it all!! 😃 LOVED IT!! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it
I use a Harbor Freight flame thrower hooked up to a BBQ propane tank. Better than half the temperature of the surface of the star we are following through the galaxy!
Seers the intended hunk of protein & fat in seconds. Has also solved our cat fur on the good furnishings too (grin)
I just knew you were going to catch your kitchen on fire. Definitely an awesome flame on it and you handled it like a boss.
I have a fire extinguisher 🧯 😉
Ok Steve, damn you, now I have to get this for my husband! That's the last thing we need, another implement of destruction in the house! LOL. Love your videos.
great video
Omg woah! Fantastic!
I have had my Su-V gun for about a year. Works great. I hook it up directly to my large propane tank outside. Keep it turned to low and you will brown your meat perfect. Great for starting charcoals and wood in my smoker also.
I legit crazy a huge smile when I saw you light it up to full. I can only imagine how it felt there haha. With a flame that big, I imagine it would be much more of an outdoor usage vs the others.
Loved the video. Now at any point did you think, "maybe I should have filmed this outdoors?" Lol. That would be the only thing keeping me from buying something like that. I would be too afraid I would burn the house down even doing it outside. I have a small torch and I am always worried somehow I forgot to turn it off or something and wake up to a fire. The video was very entertaining and I hope you had a great Father's day!
Wow, Holy flame on Batman. That is awesome. I think you could really sear some steak with that. Love the expression on your face.
wow! pretty neat!
😂🤣😂I’ll bet when your wife saw this she wondered why you didn’t try it -- outSIDE!!! I laughed so hard when the gun went on high…the look on your face was priceless!
I was fully expecting you to Muahahaha!
HILARIOUS! I was scared when i saw that look in your eye.Excellent video! Thanks.
You’re hitting my entire BBQ playlist. 🙂👍🏻
@@SeriousKeto Hope this helps as per your recent video request.
Wow! I have no words! :)
Well now, that was fun!
You got a permit for that?? 😆
You don't need no stinkin' permits (in TX, anyway😉).
This thing was way beyond what I thought it'd be.😳 lol
@@RRW_HomeGrown.Keto.Cookin if only all other states followed suite with constitutional carry!
🤷🏻♀️❤️
That's not a blow torch, that's a Daggon flamethrower! I while watching you light it exclaimed WOAH!
I was considering getting one of these and your reaction just convinced me. After 4:01 I was dying!!
Oh what the heck!!! I'll buy it for him for Christmas!!! This is frickin awesome...scary but awesome!!!
Oh my lord!!!!
I burst into laughter!!!!
Thats a lethal weapon!!!!
What in heavens name is that for if not burning down the house!!!?
This put a big smile on my face. I really don’t need this . I just want it..lol
I don't think I could sell that purchase to the wife but it definitely looks fun.
Steve, Wow ! that was powerful! Seeing Colton eating the steak 🥩 I was drooling to get some steak lol .God Bless you.
Maaan, I wish I could be your taste-tester. Thanks Steve.
What an awesome video! I hope you have some high ceilings 😂 on a side note, Colton is getting so big ❤️ time sure flies! thanks for sharing Steve, be well
We do have cathedral ceilings in the kitchen. 😉
@@SeriousKeto that would have put a nice char mark on my ceiling! Glad you love it!
That was awesome!!! That’s the most emotion and excitement I’ve ever seen out of you lol!!!! Definitely going to get one of those. I can see that not only great for cooking, but might be a good self defense if someone brakes into your home 😂
Multi-tasker. 😉
@@SeriousKeto You and Alton Brown
This looks amazing! Sadly I always need to torch inside my apartment so I would probably set my kitchen on fire using this flamethrower. Lol. I did order the Searteq tho, that looks like it would work better than just the regular tip.
You are too cute, you are so funny! Your face was priceless!
Hope you have fun with your new toy.
I was waiting for the out take with the fire extinguisher on the ceiling!!😂 Not a fire gadget person here, I think it would incinerate a crim brûlé, but your face was priceless!!!😂😂
Have a spare F-14 Tomcat sitting around not being used? Sear some meat with it! LOL That Su-V Gun is seriously powerful! I love it!
I've had mine for almost a year now, I love it 👍
I also have the weed torch from harbor freight, that's my dedicated torch for briskets that I sous vide.
I’ve never done a brisket sous vide. Why do you prefer that over using a smoker? Also, any tips you’d share based on your experience?
@@SeriousKeto I smoke it for 2-3 hours then into the water bath for 44-48 hours @140°
Smoking it first gives it a perfect smoke flavor and it definitely intensifies when in the bath. It comes out so moist and juicy. Then I give it a hard sear with the torch for that perfect bark. I do ribs that way also except I go 150° for 24 hours.
@@SeriousKeto I also enjoy just smoking briskets straight through also, both are great in my opinion.
Thanks. I’ll need to try that.
I was part of the Kickstarter program. I use this all the time, searing, lighting charcoal…etc. I purchased the extra gas hose to connect a larger tank. It works better because you don’t have to worry about keeping the tank level and clearing the check valve. I NEVER use the stand!
I'll probably wind up getting the hose too.
You are cracking me up!! 😂 I love this video! You're having a blast. Haha ...pun intended. 😂 Plus you did this indoors! Where was your wife?
This just made my day! Steve you're a hoot!!
It’s probably better that my wife remain unaware of this indoor test. 😉
WOW! That was pretty intense, Steve!😲 I think the $14 one was sufficient 😁 Take good care! 💜🙏✌🌞🎶
Yes! Yes! Yes! And just in time for my birthday!!! My wife was asking what I wanted!
Perfect timing, bro!
By the way, RUclips *just* notified me of this… apparently three days after you posted it???
3 days after I posted it to my paid channel members. They get to see videos in advance. Today was the "public" release.
That things amazing! I sent the link to my daughter and she's GIVE now!
Dude, you are so much braver than me! When I got my Su-V gun from the Kickstarter the first thing I did was go OUTSIDE to try it. Even then I thought someone was going to accuse me of having an illegal flame thrower. It sounds so angry when using it. I still only it outside just because that thing seems way too dangerous to use inside.
There's a fine line between brave and foolish. I rarely know which side of that line I'm on.
I see a 10 second Crème Brûlée in my immediate future 😄
Badass! My kids too small for me to have that. I’ll take the small one.
Holy SNOT that looks like an amazing torch!!! I'm betting that would make some nice crispy bacon-wrapped filets! I'm so looking forward to your follow-up videos on forming and seasoning your steaks.
Happy late Father’s Day and that is a wicked weapon!
💋🧚🏻♀️❤️🇺🇸
I can’t wait until seriousKeto cafe opens ,I’ll take my steak medium well . It’s a long ride from Ohio
I was very concerned that you were going to burn down your house, or at least part of your kitchen. I'm glad that did not happen! That definitely looks like a tool that would be fun to use, but only outside.
Fantastic, you could make Godzilla movies with that thing!
Oh my.....every man and woman in America is ordering this right now. Does your ceiling have burn marks? LOL. This was entertaining for sure.
Fortunately, we have cathedral ceilings in the kitchen. Still, probably not my brightest decision to be indoors the first time I fired it up.
At 4:01 is where I slammed the like button. LOL
Mission accomplished. 😄
