I’d like to see a comparison that would include the $20 Harbor Freight sear gun vs the $100 Sear Pro vs the $180 GrillBlazer. For most users cost is the first consideration. Great video. As a SearPro user I thought your conclusions were mostly fair but your reluctance and refusal to use the SearPro to light charcoal was absurd.

Testing something by using it in a way that the product labeling and warning labels and manual tell you EXPLICITLY not to use it is bizarre. Oh, gee, it's dangerous to do what they practically scream at you all over the packaging not to do.

I have a Suvgun for maybe three or more years and still love it. I like the longer distance between the tank and the front of the torch so I can get the flames down to were the charcoal is in my Green Egg. The only problem I had with the Suvgun is it doesn't stand on its own. But it does have a ring on the back that I just hook to the bottom of my side table with a J hook.

An interesting comparison. But $100 difference is pretty big. And you used the SearPro in a manner that they guided you not to do (beyond 45 degree angle). Yes, many products (especially flame throwers) can be used in ways that make them dangerous. If it hurts when you do that, don't do that. I'm not convinced that it's worth an extra $100 to be safe if I choose to use the product in a way in which it was not intended.

While I feel what you're saying about comfort @ 2:06 I think that might only be an issue if you were going to be holding it straight ahead. I mean you're going to be aiming down at the grill to begin with so that means you're fighting the weight of the Su-V gun instead of using the weight like the searpro. Just my thoughts though.

I was fortunate to get my Grill Gun and Su-V Gun as an early Kickstarter supporter (I actually bought two of each and gave one pair to my son as a Christmas present in 2019. Both work exceptionally well, but will only work reliably when connected to a 20-lb propane tank with the hose from Grillblazer (I tried 3 or 4 others without success). But at today's price of $180 each or $346 for both, I wouldn't shell out that amount of money. I would continue to use my $35 piezo-ignition flamethrower from Harbor Freight that I've had since 2017. Lighting charcoal or searing meat, it does just as good a job.

The check valve can actually be a pain in the butt sometimes. With the wrong hose connected to a 20-lb propane tank, I couldn't get either my Su-V Gun or Grill Gun to work correctly. I had to spring for the higher priced hose from Grillblazer to get them to work properly 100% of the time. But both of these products are way overpriced. The $35 flamethrower with piezo igniter from Harbor Freight works just as well, maybe a little less convenient, but does double-duty as a weed destroyer, too.

If you are concerned about it you can use hose with the big tank.

I don't care if it works any better it's not as cool as a grill blaser

I'm noticing way too many safety concerns, you are a grown man, deal with them! Those safety features are probably designed for kid use. Geez!

Lol please don’t let your kids use flamethrowers! If you don’t care about safety, you should definitely consider the cheaper less safe alternative.

One man's safety features are another man's restriction. I'm not a snowflake. I can be safe with things on my own. I don't need someone to hold my hand.

I should have bought the grill blazer product first. The sear pro has too many flaws. The biggest is that you cannot tilt at too steep of an angle.

Oh man that’s too bad you didn’t know. If you end up switching DM me on IG I will try to help you get a deal.

You cannot tilt the Grill Gun or Su-V Gun too far either or the check valve comes into play and the flame all but dies out.
