Just lit my charcoal in about 4 minutes in 34 degrees outside. Rarely ever grill in winter. Now I can. Thanks GrillBlazer. Worth every penny on first meal.
Had my Grillgun since May 2021. Had a problem with the flame after maybe 10 cooks. Tried to reset several times and didn't work. Then i ran across the maintenance video and my issue turned out to be a clogged valve! Ordered the kit and followed the instructions! Now my Grillgun is as good as new! Thanks!!
I'm so glad I watched this video. I just got my GrillGun last week but haven't used it yet. Thank you for posting this.
So glad to have watched these videos because I was using it like a regular propane torch and cranking up the knob not realizing that there was a bypass
Bob remind me of Ed from the (last man standing) series.
Ordered a grillgun from amazon and can't wait for my next BBQ party. Gonna flex the gun for sure
Still one of my favorite products to use. Very happy to have been part of the Kickstarter.
WOW I'm actually going to look like I know what I'm doing now. thanks
It's a very nice torch. Because I live in Greenland we use a different thread for the gas can. To day I got the converter for the gas can and the gun work perfect.
Appreciate you, your inventions and your proper instructions video Bob because I have already seen someone do this wrong in their video using one of your Grill guns and he couldn't get it operational again So I hope he now sees your video tutorial on the proper precedure Thanks Bob for every Grill connoisseur and Chef is now able to sear the meat 🥩 proper. KUDOS Bob Kudos
Getting people to slow down long enough to learn to use these torches right, is paramount. Guys are naturally inclined to think that they "don't need no stinkin' instructions". Check valves are not typically employed in torches, because torches are not typically "BIG BAD FIRE BREATHERS" that need safety controls like these have. Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment!
Whoa! I was having this exact problem with my Su-V Gun clogging the check valve by holding it sideways when attaching the bottle. Thanks for setting me straight 😁
Thank you for the great video. Ya learn something everyday! The guns great.
I just got mine today. Can’t wait to try it
Thanks for the video Bob. I first used my Grill Gun to show off in front of my friends yesterday and had the problem using my bottle and canisters. Now I know what the problems is. Thanks again and I really like the Grill Gun to light my lump charcoal for my Orion Smoker and I can't wait to use it with my Sous Vide. Thanks again for a quality product. Ole Men love their tools.
Great video. I bought the Grill Gun and the Su-V gun on Kickstarter and they work every bit as well as advertised. Thank you.
This is a great explanation! I bought a Grill Gun and haven't had any issues, but good to know some basic troubleshooting steps and things to be aware of.
Got a SU-V gun not too long ago for meat searing... absolutely fantastic product, produces much better, much faster results than some tiny little torch could ever produce. If you're into searing foods at all, this thing is a game changer.
This thing ROCKS!! I did some corn beef and seared it with the gun. Great devise. I recommend it all.
Thank you!
Just got my grillgun today. I hope I love it… gonna use it tomorrow on the primo grill on some ribeyes. Fingers crossed!!!
Thanks!
Wow, I was using my Grillgun for a while. I was having problem with the flame sometime. Little I know, it was only a setup issue with the bottle. Please share/add this video link for the new buyer! Also, would be awesome to share it to the people that bought the grillgun before. Really a great product and it changed my sousvide experience a lot! 5 star product. *****
It would be nice if you could design a way to easily depressurize without having to disconnect the tank every time.
You know, I'd imagine some kind of inline quick-release bleeder valve could be retrofitted on both products without having to change the original design. Whaddya say, Bob?
BOB!!!
I have trouble getting the gun to light. What is the exact sequence. Do you hold the handle open when screwing on the bottle. Is the check valve closed initially? Pull the handle , open the check valve, then pull the trigger?
Welcome to 🇱🇦
*Dang! Color my RUclips Channel very interested!*
What would cause it to sputter when you pull the bottom gas trigger? It works fine using the knob on top as long as I don't open it up all the way but if I pull the gas trigger it always sputters. It almost seems like its getting too much gas.
Love your product, Bob!
Although I did cringe every time you explained the workings and solution to this problem, because you're so technically minded that you don't see it as a problem to solve. Mind you, I could be wrong here, but I likely suffer from the same thing.
I feel Bernzomatic did that with their TS4000/8000, which is the golden standard (as far as a tool goes).
If you want to sell lots of these, and I hope you sell LOTS of these... I encourage you to make it the best performing tool to any user. add a regulator, or clever device that allows unhindered performance when subjected to liquid propane.
Cheers!
Thanks for this video. The GrillGun is amazing for SousVide prepared steaks. My steaks are 5 star restaurant quality now. I owe it all to the GrillGun, but will still be the ultimate grill master to my guests. I had no idea of how powerful the GrillGun is, and feels safe to use. I hate to say it, but I would’ve paid twice the price for it.
My SuV gun just shuts off when I pull the handle trigger. It only ever worked once. What happened to it?
Thanks for the safety tips. Which gun do you prefer?
If you have the great outdoors available to you, the GrillGun is the be-all-end-all. Chefs, cooks, apartment dwellers, and those who travel, find the Su-VGun, more suited to their needs. I like them both!
Yeah Bob 🤣
I have only great things to say about Bob sbd his company. I just purchased the SUV Gun tonight. and have already received a thank you video , as well as an added safety video. This is a guy I would like to meet... he invented this gun, I suppose with his engineering background as an aid to design abcc do with a fun playful mind off rd personality to chief to invfnt THiS particular product, which is furled by testosterone in addition to propane
Woops .. I am sorry but my review sent before o had a chance to finish proofreading the content. Sorry for text foul up.
Will this work fine with small propane-butane tanks as well, considering this was designed for propane tanks? It's nearly impossible to get pure propane tanks over here in Europe. Should be fine, right? Or are there any concerns?
No concerns, just a little less heat and power on butane/propane blends.
I connect my sous vgun to a tank using a hose. I try to follow these directions but I continuously have to shut it off, disconnect and start over.
Please watch the video on the "How to clear a fouled 8' adapter hose". Any oil in the hose will foul the check valve and make it ultra sensitive. Every time someone has your issue, it is caused by an oily hose (which comes from the tank).
You will first want to clear out the hose and then clean out the check valve (the second half of the service video).
Everything will be good to go after that.

How to use and work ?
Just got it and holy shit this thing packs heat nice product 👌
How hot does the gun get? Scared if it can burn through my cast aluminum grill?
It cannot burn through cast aluminum. The properties of aluminum disperse heat so fast that you simply couldn't get the heat concentrated enough in one spot to melt the metal without going to an extreme by training the flame on one spot relentlessly to try and melt it. Even then, I doubt you could damage it.
Mine just puts out a weak orange yellow flame. It doesn't even look like the flame before you pull the bottom handle.
I haven't been able to use it until now because I've been travelling back and forth daily to take care of my Mom. I tried to spin it off and depressurize, but it lights then pulling the handle actually reduces the flame and it is yellow not blue. Then I stop it and it won't jet out.
Either your grillgun is clogged or you are experiencing the check valve shutting it down. Please watch this video and if that doesn't change your life, then contact me at grillblazer.com/support ruclips.net/video/xJ7m15P9JeE/видео.html
Contact support at GrillBlazer and we will solve your problems (that is if you still have any after all this time).
@@grillblazer I ended up throwing it out.
@@thomasbihnYou threw it out despite them asking you to contact their customer support email? Did something go wrong?
@kenneth3836 I did contact customer support....three years ago. They said the normal angle I was holding it to light the KJ coals was too severe. Any less of an angle and I would've been not pointing at any coals. I threw it out in my move because I never used it. This was well before the response here a few mpnths ago. I recently bought a knockoff on Amazon that works with no issue and costs a lot less. QC and customer service are terrible and I'll never buy another grillblazer product again.
Why couldn't you use the grill gun for both starting coals and searing?
You can and I do.
@@grillblazer Just got back from a camping trip and used it to start camp fires.
i was wondering why mine was fucking up lol
I bought both guns and I have question why in the world so stupid safety the gun not works more Dan five minutes then shuts down you have to let it cool then start it all over again
Either your grillgun is clogged or you are experiencing the check valve shutting it down. Please watch this video and if that doesn't change , then contact us at grillblazer.com/support ruclips.net/video/xJ7m15P9JeE/видео.html
If I can clean my M-16, I can clean my grill gun.
I cannot for the life of me to get this gun light. I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. I’ve watched this video four times. 😢
Please give us a call 918-960-9690 during work hours CST 8am-5pm. Month through Thursday, we will walk you through.
I had the exact same problem. I watched the video 4 times. Then one day a friend came over and I showed him the Grillgun and he figured it out after a few minutes. I was turning the red knob to full blast each time and that was too much. He dialed it back a little and it started working perfectly.
If you are still having trouble, please call customer support at GrillBlazer and they will fix you right up!
I wish I had found this earlier, instead of getting angry, undoing and redoing and depressurising and burning myself and getting pissed at myself. Note to self - read instructions THOROUGHLY first hahahahha
P.S. Any Australian buyers having trouble finding gas, Bunnings sells camping propane bottles roughly the same size and colour as Bob has in the video , they're about AUD$9 and in the bbq sections generally!
Were you able to order a Su-V gun to Australia successfully? I heard it has trouble getting through customs because it looks like a fake weapon.
Can u use power gas for this?
Please send a link to whatever you are calling power gas, and I'll look it up and give you an answer. Send your question to: info@grillblazer.com
Bob, you've created a really cool product. It's way overpriced for what it does.
It costs just what it takes to stay in business and provide unparalleled support.
1:00 When you have to make a video because your customer base is stupid.
This makes the Searzall look like a toy! Much better sear in a fraction of the time. Trust Me!
The grilll gun and sous vigun are to expensive! A year or more they apparently much less cost. I am not paying $200.00 for the torch. For me the ti8000 will do for me at $40. to $50.
If you need this video to operate this item it’s better to not buy this thing 😅
You would be surprised how many people don't read the manual and the check-valve fouls them up. Making a high-power torch that shuts itself down for safety reasons is not intuitive to use. You either need to read the manual, have a friend show you, or watch this video.
Overpriced and not all that great! Wouldn't buy it again
Tried it ..didn't work consistently ..even with this video tutorial ..when firing up a smoker at 3 or 4 in the morning, I want something more reliable ... this appears to be another BBQ gimmick gadget .. I wouldn't recommend this product. #IMHO
Dude, your tutorial is really bad. How about describing what I think is the ignition trigger and lower volume control. How about making the flame larger by opening the top red valve further. What sequence? Substantially vertical is easy. The other stuff is scary
