How does taste compare to grilled? Do you salt/pepper steak before cooking or burning? Can you do a video refilling tank with the tool you bought a harbor freight?
Yay harbor freight 👍🥳
Is the only difference between the grill gun and this the length of the barrel?
Definitely stick with propane. Propane is a very clean burning fuel, no carbon monoxide or other major by-products that would affect flavor. Butane is another good option in terms of taste.
It's also the reason why a propane stovetop in your house is by far the best to cook on. Better than natural gas, glasstop electric, and (in my opinion) induction. It's safer than gaseous fuels (like natural gas), since it's in a liquid form, it doesn't expand into a cloud of vaporized explosiveness. It dissipates to a non-combustible air/fuel radio at a rate faster than it will leak. It also burns hotter than natural gas or butane.
I'll never go back. I'll fight for my right to have a propane stovetop.
Do you still use your Ironwood 850 as your main pellet smoker? If so why over the others?
I'm looking at getting a pellet smoker and have seen a lot of your videos while researching. One from about a year ago on the Pit Boss Pro in the details, you had a link to your smoker, which was the Ironwood 850.
Our main pellet grill is the Memphis Pro that we built into the outdoor kitchen. That's the one that we used all winter while the rest of the units sat in storage. We learned last year that with snow here in the Midwest, it's not practical to keep everything out year round. I finished the season cooking quite a bit on the Grilla Grills Silverbak AT, and it's a fantastic grill.
Grillblaze stole the design from Dominox ultra-heat torch. And only slightly changed design to save some costs. But also bump price like 3 times. I had Dominox for 60 buks. And its the same thing.
It requires a license, TO GRILL! HAAA!
As cool as these look, I just read about 100 Amazon reviews. There are far too many complaints about build quality for me to take a chance at the price.
There are multiple clones under $50
Can you guys do a review of pellet grills $1000 to$1500 or so and see if the silverback is still a top contender?
Ya, I'd be curious about this. I've been rocking a Silverback for over 4 years
@@averagejoesbbq I'm just about to buy a silverback with the at cart and can't find anyone comparing it to something a bit more expensive like the Trager timberline 850. Just wondering if it is still my best choice.
I can tell you at least for me, I gave only ever had one issue with it and customer service solved it quickly. As for general use, I love it. I use it all season long, and even through the Midwest winters. This was the first real smoker I ever purchased so I'm a bit brand loyal over Traeger, but hasn't failed me yet. Hope this helps
I haven't gotten hands on with the new Ironwood or the Ironwood XL from Traeger, but those are probably the closest in price now, and they're $1,799 & $1,999. The Ironwood 885 that was replaced is a great unit, but it seems to be on the way out.
Don’t place meat on aluminum foil when using this, the aluminum burns. Put the meat on a cast iron or carbon steel pan.
Where's the Flatrock review?
A couple vids ago!
@@CreditOneSux That was the unboxing. He's supposed to be doing a review.
The review is on the way, but we had the Hearth, Patio and BBQ Expo, rain and snow that have delayed a part of that testing, so it’s coming up, but this one fit the weather and calendar.
I'm looking forward to it too. Is a comparison video coming down the road between all these flattops?
imho this thing is way too expensive for what it does.
