Lion's mane, a kind of mushroom that tastes exactly like meat. I follow sauce stache and I got really curious about mushrooms like Puffballs or Lion's mane, which aren't tipically found in Spain.
While looking at the intro I thought "if this isn't some type of mushroom, I may not be able to watch this video". Thankfully you didn't find some weird alien creature to eat.
The second I saw you start handling it, I recognized it as mushroom. My brother grows them, but holy cow did I not expect it to be a mushroom when you first showed it.
I knew it was herecium erinacium instantly. Aka lion's mane mushroom. Has the consistency and taste of good crab. You gotta sautee it and cook tf out of it(like all mushrooms). Lots of water gets expelled during cooking. You can use it like crab or lobster(once par-cooked), and its basically a blank slate since it doesnt have a strong taste. Lion's mane mushroom has neurotrophic effects and its very healthy.
Lions mane is sooo good! I grow it! easiest way to prepare it is to pull it apart (its stringy pretty easy to do) and cook it in butter in a pan! Tastes a lot like crab and is used as imitation crab by vegans/vegitarians!

This is a mushroom. Though this mushroom can actually taste like steak when seasoned and cooked properly. I live in Maine. You can find Lions Mane almost everywhere by the coast and mossy areas if you look hard enough. It actually has a calming effect when consumed.
Making crab “cakes” out of these are by far the best!!! Yummm
When looking at the thumbnail image, my first guess was lion’s mane mushroom, but then i looked closer at the image and title and realized you said it was meat, and then i changed my guess to be i dont know, since i was previously thinking that for sure this was some type of fungi, but after clicking on and watching the video, i realized my guess was wrong but it would’ve been right if it werent for the misleading things and i hadnt changed my guess
As a mycologist, could tell from the thumbnail. Thank you for bringing awareness to Lion's Mane!
...okay, that's alien seafood. 😆
I'm learning foraging and mycology and immediately knew what it was lmao... I'd love to see you try chicken of the woods next!
Again, new editor. This time enhanced the video with no real detractable view. This is the essential optimal video editing. The content was surprisingly great! Based on the original concept... Good upload, please keep producing!
Hey Guga! I highly recommend Hungarian goulash cream for the next experience!
It's delicous, you can get in spicy or mild variation as well!
Its made from the ingrediences of the traditional Hungarian Goulash!
I hope you see this, love yall!

Guga casually putting 5k worth of white truffles on his table😂
@2:42 Was that a Slip up? hmmm 😂🤣
it's some type of fungus. it only was good because of the marinade. Mushroom is like Tofu.
Lion's mane, a kind of mushroom that tastes exactly like meat. I follow sauce stache and I got really curious about mushrooms like Puffballs or Lion's mane, which aren't tipically found in Spain.
Knew immediately.. love it!!
Cutting the pasta is wild but I can totally see it allowing for all the cheese and truffle to stay on the pasta when you eat it.
While looking at the intro I thought "if this isn't some type of mushroom, I may not be able to watch this video". Thankfully you didn't find some weird alien creature to eat.
It took me a minute, but once I saw you cut it I knew exactly what it was. Not exactly a "meat" Guga. You trickster, you!!
Leo: I wish I had more side dish to eat.
The pasta on his plate: Am I a joke to you?
I think everyone including guga knew it was a mushroom. Especially with that side dish 😂
Guga boutta become megamind after eating all that lions mane
0:28 Guga, i love seeing you making video with sous vide steaks. It really awesome. I have some request for you. This dish is from my region indonesia. Can you make beef rendang with sous vide method and without it? I want to see which one is better. You can do the research for the recipe from video you did with joshua and uncle roger previously. I SERIOUSLY WAITING FOR IT😊😊
BROOOOOOO, that’s CRAZY. I was like, that looks like Lions Mane mushroom. You threw me off calling it a mystery meat. I’m so mad right now. I should’ve trusted my first instinct.
My second guess was some sort of tripe.
Guga here flexing with his truffles. 😅 That's a lot
Lion’s Mane 💜 Such an amazing, versatile mushroom.
homeboy on the left finally held the fork like he isn't 4 years old
I was certain I knew what it was until Guga called it a meat then I was clueless. Turned out I was right and Guga was just trolling me lol. This year there was a lot of these growing in my area. Delicious!
My first instinct was right, but then you kept saying meat so it made me second guess myself. I should have known better.
This is one so good, I’ve only had it one time.
Not gonna lie, when leo cut that paste, my jaw hit the floor.
italian embassy already launched formal protest for pasta cutting :D
I thought it was lion's mane. My local supermarket has it almost all the time, and I've never tried it. Now I definitely will. Thanks Guga.
SauceStache wanted to do an episode with Guga. This should have been it.
I'm cultiviting it in my cave right now !!
love it, so good with just butter or cream.
6:30 attempted genocide on the Italians.
i see this comonly. but only if you are used to foraging. is lions mane mushroom. super good for your brain and can be made into vitamins. tastes great too. flavor of citrus and crab. one of my favorite mushrooms to grow with the bucket method.
I've seen several videos of people processing lions mane mushrooms as meat substitutes and that's what ya got my friend. I'm curious whether your prep will be similar to the ones I've seen where they compressed the mushroom tightly to give it a more meaty texture.
Also guga. I've seen that compressing the mushroom for a long time before cooking and not just compressing while cooking helps the mushrooms texture. The guy I watched used like two plastic plates and used a vice grip or something similar on the outside before the marinade.
Lion's Mane mushroom. They are wonderful . Made no crab crab cakes. Delicious.
Its Lion's Mane. Spicy Moustache's channel cooked this as well.
I never thought I would ever see Lion's Mane on Guga's channel ❤
Leon just pissed off every Italian 😅
watching the reaction of the guys when they see the pasta is the most murrica thing ever xD
I would say to send Leo back to Canada for cutting the pasta, but they probably don't want to make the Italians mad lol
I've never had lion's mane mushroom (but I do recognize it), but I have never met a mushroom I did not like. They are my favorite food. I'm going to have to visit more Asian markets.
