- Kevin Feige has gone full Kathleen Kennedy. Based on the activist marketing of Black Widow and the quality of the D+ shows the question has to be asked. What happened to Kevin? From the twisted morality of WandaVision, to the one-the-nose politics of Falcon and Winter Soldier, and Loki being a guest star in his own series. In the comics it isn't any better. From Winter She-Hulk to Captain America not believing in The American Dream. The M-she-U seems determined to be as bad as Marvel Comics. The two have never been closer when it comes to the quality of storytelling and that is not a good thing. Et Tu Kevin?

IDK, I liked Far From Home, it wasn't perfect, but to me, it was enjoyable.

Back in the 80s, I was a comic freak growing up as a kid in Nigeria. I read both Marvel comics and DC Comics. In fact I learnt how to draw superheroes from the comics I read. I was ecstatic when superhero movies came out from MCU. But lately, what I'm seeing now since Stan Lee passed on is seriously heartbreaking. So sad 😭😭😭.

Watch the early MCU movies like Iron Man, Thor, the Cap trilogy, and Guardians of the Galaxy, and then compare those to the Disney+ shows, Captain Marvel, and Black Widow. The dip in quality is astonishing.

They want credit for taking someone you think will be a man and making it a woman instead because they think it's subversive. When Nintendo did it with the original Metroid game back in 1986, not only did they do it with an original character, but they could reasonably say it hadn't been done before, so it was actually subversive. Thor isn't being replaced, Jane Foster is simply being empowered by the hammer as Steve Rodgers was in Endgame (funny how it's OK when he does it but not when a woman gets the power), Thor Odinson is still around.
Shuri being Black Panther happened in the comics, and is likely only happening now because Boseman died and they don't want to recast.

I still remember the first time I ever realised Disney now owned Marvel: I was at a Disney Store in Paris, and there was Iron Man. I felt... regret.
Flash forward a decade and I've seen merchandise stamped 'Disney Star Wars' and 'Disney Indiana Jones' and I've watched a bazillion franchises bought by Disney and flushed down the toilet.
Honestly I'm so glad I don't care anymore, and feel free to draw my own line as to where a franchise ends. Star Wars and Indiana Jones are George Lucas, that's it and that's all. MCU ended with End Game. Alex Kurtzman never made any actual Star Trek. Masters of the Universe was a cartoon from the 1980s and the new Netflix bollox doesn't exist. Ghostbusters 2016? Never heard of it. And The Doctor never regenerated again after Peter Capaldi was unceremoniously fired from the role. I'm 100% fine with dying on this hill. Any whiny so-and-so's who want to tell me it isn't me who gets to decide when a franchise ends it's the I.P. holders, and that I'm just gatekeeping? You bet your ass I'm gatekeeping. Maybe if somebody actually behind the scenes on these franchises was gatekeeping, some of them would still be making money.

Besides Captain Marvel. I feel like it all seems a bit of an over-exaggeration tbh. Wandavision had twisted morality, but she became a villain by the end. Falcon and winter soldier was political, but it wasn't a bad overall message. the speech at the end was kinda long tho. Loki overall was still a really good series so I personally don't believe the MCU dropped in quality.
Black Widow's movie was okay. It was a fun thrill movie but I do agree taskmaster was a disappointment; but for a "sjw" movie, it was really only empowering women. They weren't trying to say "man bad" or whatever.

I def agree with you, I’ve really liked all the shows up to this point (though WandaVision and FATWS did dip towards the end imo). LOVED Loki. A lot of these criticism do feel like projections of expectations; people started to say that this was something the MCU was going to do, so people who don’t want that started to actively look for them.

Yes, this also affect the games industry. Regardless if it is the same people coming back to remake or sequel they always manage to do something that takes a dump on the original.

MCU didn't do that at the beginning. Lady Sif was awesome fighting with her male friends that were written well.

It also appeals to those people that do not know better because of the flashy CGI and action sequences and they would get these people regardless. If they made good movies and series that respected the history of those characters they would have the real fans and those that are just there to see the action. They would have double or triple the numbers they have now. So being objective why appeal to the people that for the most part are not real comic book fans?

And I'm a straight girl but I love looking at beautiful things. And Catherine was pure beauty in that movie. And her chemistry with eye-candy Antonia Banderras was just a feast for the ladies. We love kind and courageous ladies, with beauty as a bonus, paired with kind and courageous men, with alpha hunkiness as our incentive to go to the theatres.

I never stopped reading, and literally have well over 1,500 comic books in my house. The comics I grew up reading and the characters that I fell in love with are now misogynistic, sexist, crass and out of touch??? When did I miss this???

Hi man , Just love your content , it reminds me my youth reading all these comics . Unfortunately in France ,there was less choices for sci-fi , though we got a bunch of other great stuff we call "BD". The best for me was was "Superman" and " Strange " comics which was a traduced compilation .
