At first I thought these mcu shows would provide stories for characters who didn’t get much attention in the movies, but now I realize that all they are is advertisements for tokenized variants of these characters that will replace them. I at least gave the other shows a chance, but I’m DONE now. Didn’t even watch the first episode of Hawkeye. Not interested at all.
I agree I watched about 30 minutes of the Hawkeye then I got the picture of what they're trying to do replace Hawkeye with this other character I stopped watching it immediately started getting boring 😴.
The screeching cat sound effects over all the black widows fighting each other was hilarious and purrfect. Maybe the movie would be more watchable if all the dialogue was replaced by appropriate cat noises?
"Who runs like a duck" LMAO. The value of run style is so underrated. No matter how much they build up a MC, if they run funny, all that charisma is out the window, for me at least.
The great overuse of BLAND, CHILDISH, and UNINSPIRED humour has officially started to deeply effect the MCU. Not just because the BLAND humour is ruining serious moments, but the writers themselves don't care about or take the product seriously.
@Knox2Don just cause you say, not really, and do better, doesn't change the fact that you are a fan of the blandish, childish uninspired humourist MCU of all. Spder-man. which is also the most successful MCU character also ironic
I tuned in to see a Clint Barton adventure featuring Kate Bishop, not the other way around. Not to mention, they fumbled the Ronin arc and ruined Kingpin in one episode. A total mess.
@@x_master_xtop410 lol as someone who watched Arrow, I couldn't disagree more. These are so much better and on another tier of quality. The CW shows are terrible. Legends? Batwoman? Flash? Etc...come on.
@@davidhero1000 exactly, they skimmed over his Ronin face and gave us Disney Christmas show with him in it. Why not just do Season 1 him going through his Ronin phase, then season 2 you can introduce Bishop
So glad I just watched this rather than the actual show. I seriously think seeing the destruction of Kingpin and Hawkeye like that would have led to a broken tv.
@Eye of Horus this is a weird comment. The Kingpin character is following the comic books. Not sure how that equates to "destroyed" because he'll 100% be back, which makes Dragonage2ftw's comment accurate. And haters spent the entire season bitching about how Hawkeye gonna die and be replaced by Kate Bishop...well... that didn't happen either.
@@Dragonage2ftw I think the proper term was "de-constructed," rather than "destroyed." Systematic deconstruction of characters, woke messaging, and so forth, are difficult for us normies to properly articulate. It doesn't mean we're wrong. We'll never win any debates on the subject, as we are not acquainted with the jargon of critique. But we know shite when we see it and we kbow when we're being messaged by woke nincompoops and party-poopers of every description.
@Eye of Horus We don't have a problem with subtlety and nuance. Literally all the complaints are so picky and lack nuance. This show was good and way better than what the CW could ever produce. Was it perfect? No. But it's not garbage.
I was really let down with black widow and Hawkeye, it shows how little regard for the characters the guys in charge (Feige of all people) have, both characters had a lot of potential to make great spy/action movies and they blew it. And also I really liked Palicki as mocking bird 😪.
@@Dragonage2ftw i used to think so, however when he was given more power (no oversight) he disregarded the tv side and was an ah about it he could easily play ball since the tv side was very willing, then when given the keys for D+ he became more ah. He did loose sight and now is driven by power and kissing the right buts to keep climbing the corporate ladder the MCU and everything in it is secretary. Thus the lately results.
@@Dragonage2ftw Based on? Feige did great work with the setup of the MCU, I'll grant you that, but after Avengers Infinity War the MCU has been a disaster. The same Feige who built up the Avengers characters so meticulously, now tears them down without even a second thought, only to replace them with totally unbelievable female versions. What happened to this guy? Did he sell his balls to the woke-movement? Or was this always part of his "master-plan" with the MCU? I have a hard time believing the latter, so it seems like it's the first, which makes it all the more incredible. You spent 11 years building up the MCU with decent character development and storytelling and then revert to simple bait-and-switch tactics combined with horrible storytelling just to push an agenda? That's sad.
Hawkeye series was such a missed opportunity for us to see what clint went thru when the blip turned him into ronin…maybe in flashback scenes while dealing with a better villian in present day…..with the exception of wandavision how each disney plus series pulled a bait and switch smh 🤦🏻♂️
There was no bait and switch. The only reason you're saying that is because channels like Gary Ann's and such convince you there was some bait and switch. When you go into these things with open eyes, it's pretty obvious to most that there was no "bait and switch".
It really wasn't though. It was obvious they are gonna make kate the new hawkeye. I've never read the comics and that was clear as day to me. Plus this wasn't wasn't even bad. Kate has flaws but slowly grows to be a better person and not blindsided to what she does.
@@mustang6599 The name of the show is Hawkeye. But the story is about Kate Bishop? Tell me that's not a bait and switch. Why not name the series Kate Bishop? They named the show Hawkeye to make us think the show is more about Hawkeye. But it was more about Kate.

I kind of got the point of the whole arc, but the whole show was pointless because he already HAD earned it. I was expecting him to take up the role from the word go, and he could have still gone through the whole backstory. I guess then they couldn't have introduced the US Agent, then again it could have been someone impersonating the original cap who could have stolen the shield and lead to a big showdown and Wilson proving he is the real Captain America and unmasking the US Agent. Something like that anyway. Let's not even go there with the flag smashers, could not get my head around anything about them, they didn't make any sense at all.

Just recently found out (from listening to Script Doctor on a Midnight's Edge panel) that lots of writers in hollywood can have a great degree of writing experience with doing re-writes or other treatments on studio scripts without recieving a credit that will reach an IMDB profile. They may be well known and considered reliable within the industry but not have those exterior facing credits. So, a lack of Imdb profile is slightly less of a red flag than it might seem (at least as far as writing/dialogue is concerned) - though we've seen VERY mixed results from such unknowns. I think the greater point that can still be argued is that the lack of a viewable credit may suggest these people have never had substantial responsibility for an overall project (which would presumably result in such credits).

I almost resent Spiderman's success because I really think it's time for the MCU to wrap up. They're clearly out of ideas, their new characters are not going over with the fans and the whole thing is coming off as a hollow imitation of what is once was. Throw on a good helping of denigrating both characters and fans, and I just don't want to hear from this franchise anymore. While Spiderman shows Disney and Marvel what they can achieve if they cater to the masses rather than lecture us - it also earned a phat stack (some of which Marvel will get) which helps clean their clock of the awful crap they've been putting out since Endgame and further fund shite like this in the future. The film was called Endgame - the clue is in the title - they should've just had the guts to end it, rather than let it zombie on like this.
If Tobey and Andrew hadn't been there would you still be saying the same? Because I still wonder if people only praise the movie because of it and not the movie itself, which pretty much shows the double standards of many of you.
Would have preferred a Hawkeye story myself but using him to tell someone else's story is typical of Disney's bubble mentality. They really believe if you feed them soy they will like it, even if it's eventually. Having said that I thought Widow wasn't one of Marvel's worst movies and the ending with sister widow on the hunt for Clint was what I was looking forward to in the Hawkeye series. Nat's death still carries a lot of feels for me and that could have had a proper resolution with the series... but not to be. Instead we have (another) coming of age superhero story with too many extra characters to give any true development.

I’m at the stage with the M-She-U where I’m more interested in Gary’s reviews than the actual show. At least he gets to the point and doesn’t chuck in meaningless filler and is consistently entertaining and informative.
@@flowinsounds WandaVision is hands down the best show so far. If you cut out all the crappt SHIELD scenes, you have a solid show with a good character arc and interesting plot. None of the other shows get close to that
@Sonic Hedgehog Yeah ok sums it up, as an Englishman the first few episodes mining old US tv shows for waaaaaay too long was coma inducing. Then the "mwahahaha" cartoon badguy was beyond cringe. Overall had great elements but was too confused in mixing plotlines to have any coherence in storytelling
I'm never going to be drunk or insane enough to watch this show, so I appreciate you doing it for us. And, in my opinion, both Hawkeye and Jeremy Renner deserve better. 😐
You could even say Kate, the Kingpin, Echo and Yelena deserve better. Nothing was wrong with the characters or the people who played them. Heck, they could have been great. It was all about how they were written.
The weird thing about this show is that Renner's Hawkeye and Kate Bishop were actually treated with respect. I liked Kate. She had a real character arc and didn't undermine Clint at all. The problem is that almost everything else was terrible.
There is only one thing I appreciate Hawkeye for. For introducing me to Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin. That prompted me to start watching Daredevil, one of the *best* series I've ever seen. And I'm not just talking Marvel shows. It's dark, serious, violent and completely amazing. There's everything - brutal violence and torture, legal drama and even a prison sequence. And if there's any whiff of a Woke agenda, I certainly haven't detected it. With Elektra, the show has zero issues with presenting her exactly as a deceptive, manipulative and murderous sociopath. And she still manages to be a truly strong female character. The other great female lead, Karen Page, is anything but a "Karen" - she is smart and beautiful but also thoroughly feminine and doesn't try to constantly emasculate her male friends, as seems to be the custom now. And the characters portrayed by People of Colour, like Claire (the Nurse), Sgt Brett Mahoney and the reporter Ben Urich are all perfectly cast. They just do their jobs with passion. No race-baiting or SJW posturing at all. Amazing show.
Amen, I might have to go watch the whole thing a third time. It's definitely the best out there. I would recommend Luke cage as a decent show, and Jessica Jones is good too once it gets going (season one is anyway) Iron first starts well but goes downhill, and all these together gives you the defenders, which could have been done much better than it was.
@@craigscraigwastaken6776 Definitely not the greatest ever made , but it's a decent comic show . I'd say shows like Doom Patrol , and Legion definitely give Daredevil a run for it's money. It's probably the best superhero show that covers vigilantism and ponders those deeper questions of what the hero's go through , but it's definitely not the most unique, and it uses a lot of those tropes that were created in Batman.
There wasn’t a villain in this series that couldn’t have (just as easily) been taken down by the NYPD alone. So, apparently, the MCU message was that LE is lazy. This man held a fully loaded Infinity Gauntlet...and this is the series he got?
I think that's kind of supposed to be the point of the show. Clint doesn't have any powers, but he has the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed against the enemies they show in the series. The problem is that they rarely ever showed him using said knowledge and skills...
I rewatched all the Netflix shows recently. It's weird to me how Daredevil S3 (and Punisher) got away with conservative undertones... like Karen defending the right to self defense... or Foggy defending the police union in their stance against the Feds... or even Matt's dedication to thr law when the politicians are corrupt and aren't enforcing it There's no way that show would ever get made today
Almost every single one of these new shows are bait and switch handing off the "mantel" to a character no one is going to care about kind of show. The cherry on top is for most of them they get to belittle and destroy the character they are replacing. I would rather see these new characters introduced on their own...leave the OG characters out of it because by the second season that's what is going to happen anyway.
they don't respect legacy or how to properly hand it down. These boss babes earn nothing, they just steal every thing from the men. Not very stoic or worthy of being cared about at all in the end. Bad all around writing, even the Bayformers films had more logic then this.
Like imagine the Punisher on DISNEY+??? I just can't. Moon Knight was bad They ruined Kingpin Their fight scenes so far don't even have real weight behind them like the Netflix shows did (minus Iron Fist 😂) I can see them watering down Daredevil which is dumb but i can't see them even attempting to do the Punisher. His whole character is about killing bad people, most often brutally
CJ I feel your pain I'm terrified as well but let us take solace in the fact that I have it on very good authority from a credible source that is far as the punisher and Daredevil go the directors producers and Main writers for both shows are actually still going to be a part of the team so the fact that they're bringing back a lot of the cash writers and producers Maple dwell maybe Kevin will step back and let the teams that made the shows great keep the shows great so we don't have to sit back and watch Daredevil get a sex change and and punisher come out as non-binary bi-curious I'm just sick of all the b******* so I'm hoping that all that comes to fruition and we don't have to put up with any more of the lgbtq transpocalypse work agenda cuz I can't take anymore it's too much these are already two shows with a great cast great writers that I've already had successful season so let them recreate that magic because you obviously are not the people to do it you're trying to do other s*** you know so why don't you take a break from trying to turn my son into a ferry where's lingerie and make a good comic book adaptation for once
I felt that finale fight with Kingpin was off as well and for obvious reasons, but I failed to realize just how much. See, I hadn't seen the Daredevil shows until after watching the Hawkeye series. I just witnessed Kingpin seemingly effortlessly decapitate a man with the door of an SUV. Hawkeye was a joke!
You see I watched Daredevil when it first came out and im telling you... when he decapitated that guy's head thats when i knew the show would be different! Hawkeye turned him into a cartoon character
Kingpin is clearly taking it easy with Kate, but even so being thrown across a room several times would have shattered her skeleton, never mind the concussions.
I remember the kingpin scene as one of the few moments of me shouting and cursing at my TV for the pure stupidity. The series peeked with Clint suffering through "Rogers - the Musical "
So glad I’m not the only one who thought this show was utter garbage. Not even because of the M-She-U bait and switch, but because the script, pacing, and character development was all major doodoo
That's kind of the worst part for me. The M-She-U and D-She-EU can work if you put in the work, lay the foundation, and do it with proper care and respect to the source materials while also not tearing down the established characters. The problem is that they skip all of the setup stages, tear down the established characters, shove the new characters down our throats, and expect us to care. The MCU succeeded, because it started with the solo movies, which made us care about the characters. There was over 10 years between Ironman and Endgame, meaning over 10 years of getting attached to and caring about these characters, including several years of mostly solo movies before the first Avengers movie. How the hell can the MCU write the damn book on how to succeed at superhero and comic book movies only to ignore the first half in the future movies and now TV series and be surprised when the future movies and TV series flop? How many times do they have to lose hundreds of millions of dollars before they learn their lesson?
The weird thing about this show is that it's the reverse. They somehow won me over on Kate Bishop. She was likeable by the end. But ofc, the one time they sell me on the new blood replacing the old school, they write a terrible story
Wasn’t that bad of a show compared to the shit shows I’ve seen from Disney. It had its moments. I had very low hopes, came out pleasantly surprised. Hated the end.
Just started rewatching Daredevil today for fun.... and it made me hurt so bad inside when I remembered how good of a Kingpin we already had. And then D+ goes ahead and makes him the incompetent version. But I would never pay for D+. Torrent is king.
Marvel acts like they hate all of their characters at this point except for Spiderman (technically a Sony property). It's sad watching Hawkeye and every other avenger become a sad joke only to be replaced by a small girl. The deaf girl with the fake leg was the icing on the cake. If are was transgender and in a wheelchair then she would be the most powerful being in the marvel universe! At this point I'm just waiting for the Batman to come out. At least they DC likes him and are trying.
My favourite part was the fireman stealing from the scene of a fire and instead of this having any consequences or being an issue at all, Hawkeye has to make a deal with him to get his own property back. And then the thief becomes part of the super friends group.
@@jimmy5170 you've missed the point. All of those characters face consequences for stealing. No one mentions to the fireman that maybe he shouldn't have stolen and he doesn't seem to think he did anything wrong either.

@@sorbabaric1 Because actors get old. So you either have to pass the torch, reboot with a new actor, or find an in-story reason to explain the appearance change. They don't have any original ideas anymore. So they have to just constantly do sequels, prequels, reboots, etc.

I literally told my friend I was watching the show with if anything short of Kingpin having EVERYBODY brutally murdered happens im gonna be disappointed. Edit: imagine they made this show with the vibes of daredevil. of Clint going and cleaning up the mess he left as Ronin, by himself. They should have made it with the same brutality of daredevil. (they actually could have included daredevil and kingpin.) it would have been so fucking cool. They could have even tried to show why Wilson fisk is no longer in prison (maybe his wife was on a plane when the snap happened and the pilots dissapeared and she died in the crash removing the leverage daredevil had to keep Fisk in prison. Since they want to bring in daredevil to the mcu and all. The scene in endgame with barton and the sword is so badass. that is what I wanted.
Are you familiar with the concept of “people who haven’t seen Daredvil and don’t have Netflix that need to be introduced to Kingpin”? They didn’t ruin him, he’s not dead, he goes through this in the comics and lives.
The way all the blame was put on Kate's father with one throw away line with her mother telling Kate it was all his fault because he took money from King Pin just seemed like a way push they blame off the mom on to her dead father.
O my God....you hardcore anti Sjws and Sjws themselves complain about everything like spoilt little children. The lack of independent thought among these two groupies is astounding
The tragedy is that there are *so* many ways to write strong, engaging, bad-ass female characters, but all of these hack writers choose none of them. Much easier to tear down established heroes and villains, which requires no talent at all. Burn in hell, Disney. Also, for anyone who never watched it, go watch the Daredevil series. I loved the original comics, and they really did it justice (no pun intended, but I'll keep it lol.)
Look at Yellowstone. Beth may be the baddest character, not even talking just female here, of all time. They wrote her so well. Strong both mentally and physically but with plenty of flaws unlike mcu female characters where they seem to have none and everything handed to them. There are undertones of "the message" on that show but it's completely distant in comparison to the dedication to good writing by show writer Jamie Sheridan. Disney is just either lazy or they really do just care more about shoving identity politics into our eyeballs at every single turn that they can.
The supposed bad ass momma bear who needs no man and is some big boss ends up being in that position of power because of a dead dude who earned all that power passed away, and she ended up taking it all for her own including said debt? And with that power came owing a bad guy instead of letting bad guy take from what the dead dude created to pay off said debt, carrying on the responsibility of that debt because the bad guy was okay with that arrangement? It really makes no sense; it just shows that women gain power by taking power that is not their own when convenient lol! Regardless, this lady playing powerful lady boss only is powerful because she took from a guy when he died, she didn't create that power for her own, she received that power because of a familial bond I guess, she didn't earn it for herself at all she is powerful because she stole that power from a guy who died, and the writers don't see this as further questions regarding female empowerment lol!! As it stands in reality, no woman has created more wealth than the lady who divorced Bezos, she divorced and received more money than any powerful woman in this world, this MCU garbage I guess validates this way into positions of power too. What does this tell young women really lol!
I never did understand why marvel or dc didnt just put their best stories on screen and let them sell themselves. Whoever was involved in the daredevil tv show certainly needs to comeback.
I rolled my eyes when the additional track suit henchmen (called in from New Jersey and Connecticut) arrived for their spanking by arrows. I felt used and abused by Disney having to watch the final episode's end credit expecting something meaningful to happen. April's Fool in December.
This world is so shit sometimes. Why can't we have nice things? Like a Hawkeye show that focuses on Hawkeye? I am feeling overwhelming sadness and anger about this show. Absolute garbage.
Oh please, you’re acting like they killed off Clint in the first episode in his first scene. Kate bishop is Hawkeye in the comics as well as Clint. The title of the show refers to them both, plus the trailers for this show made it clear that it would focus on both Clint *and* Kate
@@GustEdgeOfficial they basically did kill him. Did you watch the show? They could've done so much more. They could've created a much better show. But no. We must kill off every single male character to make room for strong female characters. Get real.
I started off liking certain elements of the show, including Kate, but the comedy ultimately killed my enjoyment. Forget dramatic tension -- who needs *that* in a superhero show? Almost every single scene has to be trivialized by a goofy joke, even in the climatic episode, and I'm sick of it. Give me Marvel Netflix any day of the week.
Did you watch the show? There were multiple scenes in which there no jokes, at all. One scene where Kate had a discussion with her mom, and same with Clint and Yelena. Theres a few more than that.
Lol, while I have vowed to never pay for Disney Plus, I had considered watching this series, possibly through channels of dubious legality. Now Disney copyright lawyers can breathe easy, as I have been convinced not to infringe on them. The people who should really be outraged by all this mutilation of comic book lore are native Russian speakers, who have to listen to that accent. It must be like British people watching Sherlock Holmes talk like Larry the Cable Guy.
I'll say it again. The one thing western media today can do better than eastern media, find a solution for piracy. Not that it's beneficial to them but hey it gets the job done
Heres my idea for a Hawkeye series: As ronin, Clint messes with kingpin's operations and kills his men. 25% different kingpin from the Daredevil series has a protege or right hand man who gets killed by ronin in one of his rampages. Kingpin traces ronin, who is identified as Kate bishop when she goes through that convoluted procedure to get the suit. Clint and Kate meet up in a similar manner but instead of the tracksuit mafia or whatever, there are actual, competent henchmen. Clint also gets more time with his family, who he must regretfully leave on Christmas Eve to go save Kate's ass. Upon learning that Hawkeye is covering for Kate's ronin, kingpin kidnaps Hawkeyes family, thinking that Hawkeye is nothing without the avengers. When Clint learns about this, him and Kate team up to fight through the ranks of kingpins men to rescue the family and save the day, showing character development by showing us that he can take on a threat without the avengers using his brains, brawn and a capacity for teamwork It may make the show a bit more divorced from the grand scheme of the MCU, but it puts Hawkeye front and center featuring him doing actual detective like work to get to the conclusion. It's a simple and probably trite premise, but it is impossible to mess up
2:55 and the thing is Hailee Steinfeld is such a great actress but the way they made her character look in this is sometimes very bland and downright boring. I don't understand why these Marvel actors are given materials with less depth and gravity.
Wait, Clint's wife is the Mockingbird? Have they forgotten their own Agents of SHIELD series and their own Mockingbird played by fabulous Adrianne Palicki? Seriously? I know they don't care about continuity in the MCU but this just shows those "writers" haven't even looked up the Wikipedia to check if someone's already played the character in that universe.
I was having a conversation with my friend, attempting to explain my issues with the Hawkeye series. How it's full of identity politics and woke talking points. He disagreed with me vehemently. I was unable to articulate specifics because when I see shows like these, I can feel something off, something i don't like etc. Nerdrotic and others such as Critical Drinker (on his other videos, don't think he's made one about Hawkeye yet) are able to convey my exact feelings and thoughts toward this shite. Thanks for being able to breakdown this crap like i'm unable to!
I know that feeling. It's a sort of spider sense. It usually triggers when you realize the hero or any straight male (preferably white) gets some sort of backhanded insult, or his abilities got nerfed for no reason at all. And usually a female /minority got to save the day in a lackluster way.
@@MiguelGutierrez-vs9zu its a type of empathy. that feeling when you come face to face to someone and they just feel off for being either a source of danger or arent being their true self to crawl into a group. obviously the creators dont understand the concept and why we dont like things at first glance, and if we dig deeper into the show it keeps getting worse
I don't know art, but I know what I like. If you want to calm your friend down, throw in a disingenuous "Capitalism sucks" and you'll be back in their good graces.
Drew Goddard and Steven DeKnight (along with Douglas Petrie) played major parts in shaping Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel -- 2 of the greatest shows of all time, 2 shows, that above the vast majority of their contemporaries, could've easily lent themselves to the proto SJW garbage of their time, but instead focused on writing and action, story and character development and giving fans what they tuned in for. This is reflected in Daredevil. The MCU isn't worthy.
Kate Bishop was so annoying, like sure fangirling is normal, but this is life and death. A fucking black Widow, trained killers were there, so was the mob, and a dangerous assasin (Ronin). WHY ARE YOU CRACKING SO UNFUNNY JOKES, it makes no since to be so laid back like this.
If you wanna see Jeremy Renner being badass go watch mayor of Kingstown. And after what they did to kingpin, I don't understand how people are still hyped for matt Murdock on the MSheU......
the power levels of the characters in this show is weird. clint, who can go toe to toe with black panther, is struggling with yelena and echo. assuming that yelena is that good, why is she struggling with an amateur like kate?
I thought it was pretty clear that Clint didn't want to hurt his dead best friend's little sister, so he didn't fight her all out. Yelena also wasn't trying to kill Kate. She even says that if she wanted Kate dead, she'd have killed her the second she opened the door.
not at any point during the show was clint, black widow, or kingpin trying to kill anyone dude. that's all. this has nothing to do with 2016 "SJW" shit, maybe re watch the show and read between the lines before going off. kingpin literally only "lost" because he never tried to kill anyone or even hit them hard. he was paying NO ATTENTION to kate that's the only reason he lost. not no "woman better" bs.
Holly crap, that montage of the show was more terrible than I would have ever expected. The CW did a better job with Arrow and that's sort of a low bar. Thanks for watching this for me so I will never have to.

the most useless tv show ever , hawkeye was a spectator in the show. 20 kgs teenage girls were the main actors beating up 90 kgs MMA trained men . pure waste of my time woke nonsense
Dont you guys find it weird how in marvel shows after endgame everyone is so sad that black-widow died and talks about how amazing and special she was but nobody cares or comments about Tony Stark sacrificing himselft to save the universe????? Even in spiderman far from home it isnt even the smallest of a plotpoint. Also in what-if they took every chance they could to belittle Ironman .... I guess Robert Downey Jr wasnt onboard with their propaganda and stood up to them so thats why his character is getting that treatment now.
That's not accurate. The Avengers aren't all equally close to each other, and therefore they're not all impacted by each other's deaths to the same degree. Iron Man's death was a major plot point in "Spiderman Far From Home." Since then, there hasn't been any other content focusing on characters who were close to Tony, so there has been no reason to focus on it. "Black Widow" and "Hawkeye" both focused on characters who were close to Nat, so they dwelt more on how her death impacted the characters. "WandaVision" focused on how Wanda impacted by Vision's death and to a lesser extent, Pietro's death, because Wanda was close to them. The other shows and movies from this year didn't focus on any Avenger deaths because the lead characters weren't close to any of them.
When I watched this show, it never made sense to how Kate was miraculously as good as Hawkeye in archery. I wondered how Renner must have felt reading the script that was handed to him titled after Hawkeye. It's weird how most of such female characters are derived from their male counterparts, in order to replace them eventually. There's nothing wrong with it, but it never feels earned and just undoes both the original character and the new one they are trying to do. Hailee is great actor and she got wasted on such a portrayal, she should have been casted as something original of her own or maybe given a more grounded approach with her character.
"I wondered how Renner must have felt reading the script" Yup, I'm a year late but oh well. The script and the final product are two different things. I have a reason to believe that the script was more favourable to Clint's character than what came out of it.
I couldn't believe the sheer incompetence of the villains which obviously reflects the poor, lazy writing of this show. The villains looked like something straight out of the Home Alone movies. I just don't understand for the love of God how a guy, an avenger, who've been through world threatening events and fought the likes of Loki, the Chitahuri, Ultron, and Thanos was now reduced to nothing more than an adult version of Kevin (from Home Alone) tussling with brain dead idiots like the track suit mafia.
I gotta say, I can't really accept Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye in the first place. He's just too far removed from the classic hard-luck, Everyman hero of the Marvel comics. Comic-book Hawkeye was in a sense, the ultimate Marvel hero; a guy from the wrong side of the tracks who endured tragedy and failure, who had a hot head and a chip on his shoulder but who never gave up, came through when the chips were down and grew and matured as his career stretched on. He was the imperfect Avenger that readers could relate to and root for. I just don't see him in Renner's Shield agent. We shouldn't meet Hawkeye as a married adult with kids. That's not Hawkeye. Hawkeye's a guy who falls for the wrong woman time and again and pushes the right woman away because of his bad attitude before he finally meets the right one in Mockingbird. But that bad luck is just a part of who the character is. I don't feel like you can skip it over.
Technically while his early life was hard things got better for him after he joined the Avengers. Peter Parker was the hard luck everyman hero not Clint Barton. Clint is the arrogant handsome bad boy who always used to question Captain America but ends up becoming a great hero and leader. The MCU took most of its inspiration from the Ultimate comics which was more modern and dark. It ended up becoming a disaster and not selling well which is why Marvel stopped Publishing those stories. The whole MCU is based on a failed reboot reality and is flawed.
Yeah because endgame, infinity war, and no way home were so female centered and huge flops, if u look at all the movies you cleary see more female character movies than male movies right? Oh wait 🤔
Spot on about how "understanding" Laura Barton is! As a fellow happily married husband who knows better than to be hanging out alone with a "young hottie", those scenes were so cringey!
I think at this point shouldn't Disney be ignored? Seems like even making a video commentary like this one is giving Disney even more publicity, whether it's good or bad publicity doesn't matter. Disney + had writers with no experience write Hawkeye as their first writing job? Who are they related to?

That's a strange thing to say, since Clint is shown a lot of respect on this show.
My favourite part was the fireman stealing from the scene of a fire and instead of this having any consequences or being an issue at all, Hawkeye has to make a deal with him to get his own property back.
And then the thief becomes part of the super friends group.

Exactly, they tried to rush the passing of the torch, causing the entire project to fail miserably.
@@LucianDevine Also, why pass the torch at all ?
@@sorbabaric1 Because actors get old. So you either have to pass the torch, reboot with a new actor, or find an in-story reason to explain the appearance change. They don't have any original ideas anymore. So they have to just constantly do sequels, prequels, reboots, etc.
@@LucianDevine Yes, but surely this actor has a good 3 to 5 more years in him in this role, but since the writers and producers can’t commit to the idea of a male lead protagonist, even for 1 season, especially if it’s a mature man, it doesn’t work well. The tragedy is that there are *so* many ways to write strong, engaging, bad-ass female characters, but all of these hack writers choose none of them.

When Clint learns about this, him and Kate team up to fight through the ranks of kingpins men to rescue the family and save the day, showing character development by showing us that he can take on a threat without the avengers using his brains, brawn and a capacity for teamwork
It may make the show a bit more divorced from the grand scheme of the MCU, but it puts Hawkeye front and center featuring him doing actual detective like work to get to the conclusion. It's a simple and probably trite premise, but it is impossible to mess up
How, exactly would Kingpin find Clint's family. Even the other Avengers (apart from Nat) never knew they existed, never mind where they were...

I thought it was pretty clear that Clint didn't want to hurt his dead best friend's little sister, so he didn't fight her all out.
Yelena also wasn't trying to kill Kate. She even says that if she wanted Kate dead, she'd have killed her the second she opened the door.

Dont you guys find it weird how in marvel shows after endgame everyone is so sad that black-widow died and talks about how amazing and special she was but nobody cares or comments about Tony Stark sacrificing himselft to save the universe????? I guess Robert Downey Jr wasnt onboard with their propaganda and stood up to them so thats why his character is getting that treatment now.
Great point.

"I wondered how Renner must have felt reading the script"
Yup, I'm a year late but oh well. The script and the final product are two different things. I have a reason to believe that the script was more favourable to Clint's character than what came out of it.
Are you fucking kidding me! I thought falcon was a steaming turd. Ughhhh.

Keep it up Disney - I want you gone and the more you fail the more likely my "wish upon a star" may come true.
Except Disney hasn't failed yet with Marvel. Most of their content have been hits with millions of fans.
@@Bradley_Lute because of the fans that Marvel had without Disney. But disney are killing the hope
Daredevil's Season 1 & 2 are so far the best TV Marvel has ever produced and I suspect, will be for a long time.
How do you feel about season 3?
Yeah after watching it I feel like they really don't want to pay good writers . What a forgettable show just sad.
I like Hailee, I didn’t even bother to try at watching this
Hahahaha she pulled that barbed arrow out of her shoulder like it was a splinter. Marvel can’t even make realistic situations realistic anymore 😅
Nerdrotic's review narrative was more cohesive, informative, and entertainment then Disney's Hawkeye series.
I think at this point shouldn't Disney be ignored? Seems like even making a video commentary like this one is giving Disney even more publicity, whether it's good or bad publicity doesn't matter. Especially since this video will garner tens of thousands of views. Why not just ignore Disney. The type of movies and shows that Disney makes aren't going to change at this point. It seems like beating a dead horse at this point 🤔. In my opinion of course.
No one ever said. He is just a liar who has never read a comic and surely believes that Kate Bishop is a character invented by Disney.
@@LizardThe A Miles Morales fan eh?
@@risingdoom Anyone who knows comics knows that Miles Morales is a good character, but here there are only charlatans who complain and cry a lot and then have no idea about comics, starting with the owner of this channel.
I haven't seen this show. Why are they killing everyone who escaped the Squid Games?
