I think summoner is definitely the right play since it's a bit of a glass cannon class. since you can't get hit at all in the first place there isn't much of a reason not to play it IMO
As it should be. Obsidian is Post EoW/BoC, but Bee is Post Queen Bee. I consistently find Queen Bee to be a harder fight, especially in higher difficulties.
Hey Gungnir, due to the fact that i have found WoF several times, I've found that its best to just keep running, don't try to jump the lasers, they just lock you into a point where you will get hit if you try jumping them. From my experience with the wall of flesh (I spent 50 hours trying to perfect my fight with it, Joys of Eternity Mode) if you just keep moving the lasers cannot hit you
Vampire frog stuff is really good against wof if you have no platforms. Target the top eye and the frogs will try to jump to it damaging the boss the whole time
White gemspark block walls are almost full-white they are what i used for my no damage run. You can avoid a lot of things you wouldn't be able to normally see because of them

I remember brainstorming this challenge for fun and thinking to build a solid, curved bridge for wall of flesh, build some poles every like 10 blocks to block the top lazers and spam it with beenades while sprinting away from it very fast. The bridge being curved was so the bottom/top eyes don't shoot into the tunnel. It was super exciting watching this, can't wait for hardmode stuff
something you could do in future playthroughs where you're having trouble with Skeletron to reduce the time between attempts would be making a copy of your world right before you fight Skeletron , and whenever you die just logout of terraria, replace the world where you died with a copy from right before the fight, and repeat until you win. (admittedly this would only be faster if it takes your computer less then 4 minutes for terraria to start and load a world)
I'm almost a year late but imagine how big brained it would've been to place closed doors along the entire tunnel to prevent random enemy spawns, especially considering the summons tend to operate outside/on top of said tunnel for WoF
I always play summoner, and those stationary turrets are what I get as soon as they’re available. They’re so useful, that any class could summon one for some chip damage during a fight. When you’re low on health and have to focus on healing/dodging, those turrets will keep putting in the damage to progress the fight.
You could still do a tunnel strat while using Starfury since it goes through a certain amount of blocks now (Thank the high heavens, sword only runs before the buff to night's edge in higher difficulties were pretty much dependent on exploding a majority of the ceiling of hell for Starfury to hit because of it's high damage and range, which are now compensated by night's edge.)
So I’ve got a question, will you be using hallowed armor? I’m asking this because of the shadow dodge, I don’t mind you using it but it’s just a question I have for now. Great series so far! Good luck with hardmode
Bruh you actually made some bug zappers haha nice idea. Those summons seem too slow to keep up with the bosses though. Alot of footage was just them chasing around
I hate how you have to wait for the NPCs to spawn again just to re-fight the boss, please Terraria just make them spawn again quicker. Also for Hardmode I saw a trick with Destroyer you can do, if you summon Destroyer and Teleport far away in a higher place, grab an star cannon and point it at his direction on the mini map, Destroyer's body will be fully straight and the stars will pierce every single segment.
this is how it feels to play fargo's souls mod but less of the dying just the painstaking patience of patterns that put peter pattersons to the pavement idk im just typing words with p
I'm not a complete expert on every single nuance, but (and I'm aware this is a very late comment, but to anybody else attempting this challenge) maybe try using calm potions for bosses to further decrease enemy spawns.

Sentry summoners are really powerful base game. High defense and they do shot one of damage. My friends and I cheesed both moon lord and empress of light with them.
tip for queen pee, inferno potion is very nice since it will deal with the little bees and inflict some fire damage when you're dodging charges, inferno is the only reason i beat her pre-hardmode on zenith
hey Gung, you should try 1HP on calamity expert or master revengance. i would reccomend going summoner just so you can run around edit: i just started this vid when i commented and now u swap to summon lol
With enemies with little minions, like the bees from the queen bee, it is a good idea to change the walls from the background to something with more contrast.
I feel like the Queen bee bee visibility issue would have just been easily solved by putting a bright colour wall that'd replace the background wall, in addition to prevent slime spawns
you shouldve cheesed it by spawning in a bunch of beach balls so that no more projectiles could spawn in the world and then all you have to worry about it the contact damage from queen bee
I know this is gonna take longer but walling in your arena prevents enemy spawns not related to the boss. For example putting background walls in your tunnel would have prevented that magma slime from being there
What's with the titles of different videos of the same series just being different phrasings of the same title. There's no way to know which one comes first without comparing dates on both videos or checking your video list. Is this to make me see more videos or something? Would be nice to give them names that suggested which order they were in.
As fun as this series is, and I do enjoy it very much, tmodloader has been 1.4 for a while, and you did say in the first eternity mode (at the time masochist mode) that you would do a calamity playthrough when tmod became 1.4 compatible. (If you have already started and I didn't know I'm sorry.)

Inferno doesn't work pre-bee because you need the Witch Doctor for Imbuing Station which is post-bee.

same can be said for ranger but for a distant reason
all the classes are glass cannons to an extent, all of them work way better when you don't get hit.
There's no reason to NOT be using a summon here, seeing as they can clear out the weaker enemies you would usually die from.

could you have used a inferno potion for queen bee so the bees would hjave been killed by the aura?

calm potions tend to be buggy and are not consistant for the grind you'd have to do to get them

believe that'll cause the boss to enrage if you do too much, as it will not properly count as the correct biome in the instance of Qbee

you could also just abuse bunny bombs and 1 shot any boss, however he doesn't want to cheese
