- I've been wanting to hone my Terraria skills for a while now and playing through Master Mode with just 1 HP seems like the perfect way to do so! With just 1 health point, I have to no-hit every single boss to complete this challenge!

advantages of this challenge:
-don't have to worry about life upgrades
-don't have to worry about defense
-don't have to worry about getting stunlocked
disadvantages of this challenge:
-everything else
just dont get hit lol
Another advantage: since you can ignore defense, you can go for the highest possible damage/crit bonus
@Scugzerker alcoholism is great in this situation
Other advantages
No armor
No need for cobalt shield
Also, you don't have to decide whether you'll use accessories like the Charm of Myths
Oh, nice to see someone doing a regular summoner run
honestly after doing a mage run this feels more like mage than summoner
edit: ok maybe i just suck at mage because summoner helps me focus on dodging more LOL

Ah yes, the “just don’t get hit bro” difficulty mentality.
I myself have no hit master mode for the worthy, and I HIGHLY recommend gravitation potions for Eye of Cthulhu. If you time the swap just right you can dodge his dashes. It also serves as temporary wings.

Predictions:
Hallowed armor is best and final armor for this challenge
Empress of light will be fought in the day because there is no difference between day and night fight
There actually is. Daytime EoL's instant-kill bypasses Hallowed armor's dodge (in point of fact, all instant-kill attacks now bypass dodge in 1.4.4). This makes Nighttime EoL a fair bit easier, as you can dodge her.

Applying a visible debuff like “On Fire!” also gives away BoC’s position. Dashing with SoC is good because if you dash away, you get further away, and if you dash at him, you bounce back and deal damage.
Bone javelins are really good at this because they visibly stick to the boss
If you're a summoner and use a whip, the indicator for minion targets also stick to the real copy. It makes the fight an absolute breeze.

Fun fact: Brain of Cthulu, second phase, just dash. Doesn't matter the direction, it won't touch you. Just keep running that direction and be ready to dash each time it teleports.

if you're fighting inside the crimson chasm then just don't move and use weapons with good knockback during phase 2 of BoC.

The atmospheric value of fighting Brain of Cthulhu during a storm is unparalled, like, those 2 fights looked so cool, seeing it appear each flash of lightning, damn!
There's a Russian guy who beat all vanilla bosses in terraria calamity with death mode on while using very little items from calamity mode with 1hp in ~2019(also, i think death mode was harder back then, but idk, just judging from what i saw). He still regards that as his hardest challenge, and he did quite a bit of challenges

This challenge is absolutely perfect for Summoners because we never had defence in the first place, so we died super quickly anyways. Plus having an army protecting you from just stray enemies at all times is so useful
If you were wondering, Deerclops's shadow hands will more often than not miss the player if they're standing on a platform. I remember this from a tutorial on how to cheese Deerclops

Thank you for playing this on a softcore character. Every time I've seen any RUclipsr or streamer do a 1hp challenge, they always do it with a hardcore character. While that seems like it would be harder, I don't think it's the proper way to play because they never get very far in the progression. With softcore you actually have a shot at getting to Moon Lord, and the late game antics are where this challenge is at its most fun.

You should use the /deaths command to show us how many times you've died at the end of each episode
The nurse can also show how many times you’ve died in a world

Yeah, something tells me you're gonna need a lot of lava and walls so the enemies don't spawn during the boss fights.
enemy spawn rate is like SUPER reduced during MOST boss fights so it shouldent be that big an issue

Gungnir never bothers with real arena building, he'll brute force it before he puts in the effort to wall off the arena.

Maybe use strange brew. Its a healing potion sold by skeleton merchant. If you drink it you might get temporary invincibility for 1-4 seconds, not much, but it will help. Also replenishes your mana.

As an old player that just got back to playing since 2-10 months on games release so i had 8 months of gameplay. I just came back now and i died to king slime because it tped on me and made me stuck to a hole

A tip for when you fight BoC in a challenge similar to this later on: If you just poison or set the boss on fire in second phase, only the real one will have particle effects, thus giving it away

A long ass minecart track is how I did eye of Cthulhu on no hit. Worked like a charm.
could've used a long sand platform and dunerider boots for the eye
Having a whip might be nice, just to help clearing out thorns/hard to see enemies in a wide area

As presumably already mentioned. There ARE still "armor" options. Any armor that has a movement-esque option, or stat buffs, Maybe one of those armors that have a chance of "bypassing" damage, such as I think ninja armor, or some Old Ones Army, armor set provided with a dodge chance bonus.

this challenge seems so interesting because you literally only have to worry on 2 things, dodging and dps? like, with only 1 hp you will still die to slimes in full wooden or full solar it doesnt matter

I think Sorbet Cafe has done it, or at least he got close. I recommend his video where he gets all the way past Plantera on 1hp hardcore For The Worthy master mode.

It's my personal head cannon that Gungnir doesn't want us to see his legendary boss fighting strats... so that's why he 'forgets' shine potions every time.
Empress of Light during the day got the least buff of anything in this game...
When it comes to the end of the EoC, the strat I've seen is to get far away from it beforehand, and use grenades to burst it down

Something that's funny with the BoC on console (and I assume mobile) is that there is a little yellow triangle above enemies, which only shows up above the real brain.
Dont forget to do /deaths in the end!
This is how it felt playing master mode as a summoner. During pre-hardmode i just decided to stop caring about armor and had invested all my accessory slots into movement. Too bad Duke Fishron's 3rd phase confuses minions...
I'm doing a run on Master as a Summoner and am close to the Fishron Fight, what do you mean they confuse minions? Won't your whip prioritize Duke?
@leviharnage8418 In 3rd phase, due to teleportation, your minions are just not fast enough to get to Duke. I had to bring out a shotgun just for that phase.
@annoyannoy Scary, but I can't see the Blade Staff or the Sanguine Staff not making it in time considering their speed, is it with all minions?
@leviharnage8418 I think i used the Sanguine staff there. I tried getting the Blade Staff, but i did so when you could only get it from enchanted blades in underground hollow. 3 or so hours of grinding and i got nothing.
Either way you'd have to do the 3rd phase cycle several times, where one mistake could cost you almost all your health.
And i was grinding him for his wings, which didn't drop either lmao.

If you can, get your hands on inferno potions, some projectiles have 1 hp like imp fireballs and goblin shadowballs, inferno helps to get rid of them completely, but i only used it in modded where it is easy to get inferno potions

I think it's before skeletron, it's probably meant to be balanced out by the fact it takes a couple ingame days to despawn

Was thinking as I watched ‘if this were me, I’d totally allow cheating in the boss spawns’ and right after you mentioned doing so. Which totally makes sense. The unnecessary grind to even fight them isn’t really part of the ‘challenge’, that’s just a needless time-waste.

I don't know how he didn't notice there was only one buff in his inventory, and that he didn't actually use it.
He most likely pressed H to use it. It appears that as a consequence of setting HP to 1, some of the GUI has disappeared (Hearts, Mana, and Buff Slots). In other boss fights it is clear he is using a Shine Potion but there appear to be no Buff Slots present, so I am inclined to believe that he did use a buff at 7:18.

For the brain of cuthulu all you needed was anything that could set him on fire. The real one would still have the fire on him when he teleports around and summons the doubles of himself.

Time for hardcore
for the deerclops it might've been easier to stay on the same level as him and dodge the ice shards, they have a pattern of:
- 1 side long one: jump up near deerclops
- 1 side long one: jump up near deerclops
- 2 sides tall one: dash away from deerclops
this would work better since no hands spawn and no ice cubes as well, and its only one type of attack so its easy to get comfortable with

I love how this guy actually is doing something harder than vanilla when they do a challenge playthrough, unlike some others.
As a mage, this is pretty much the entire experience, but with different weapons
