  • Anne Marie Fischer, the director of a preschool attended by Parkland shooter Nikolas Cruz, testified during his sentencing about Cruz being evaluated as a 1 and 2-year-old at Young Minds Learning Center. Fischer testified about Cruz's struggles with development and how physically he looked different than other children. On cross-examination Fischer was challenged on her assessments of Cruz.

Yes, interesting. One of the worst serial killers in the uk, albeit a female. She was the lover of Fred West ,Rose West, and was totally involved and culpable for the harrowing crimes they commited together in the uk . My angle on this is, how does a serial killer 'incubate' ? So her dad was a violent, sadistic bully and as a child she was told she was unwanted. I am not making excuses, and i'm always concerned how a human psyche can possibly deal with this. So when she was pregnant with Fred's first child she was kicked in the belly, threatened by Fred so she did try to flee him. Anger is the primary motivator i think (im no expert). Anger flares up the brain so badly that young men like Cruz do find the power to want to anialate every human being around them. God help us all
These VERY damaged ones will continue to cause this devastation unless the laws kick ass, in a much more controlled and careful way, not necessarily the death penalty..

A side note, it is 2022 and people are so ignorant, "educated" people about adoption and adoption language. Children who are adopted are your "own" children, most of all leagally with birth certificates with the adoptive parents' names on them. They are also your "own" because you are their parents, raising them, supporting them, loving them. We don't say, "Oh, this is my adopted son," or "Here is my son, he's adopted."
"Birth mother" is correct. And to say that parents "don't tell anyone" that their kids are adopted is untrue. Every case is different. Some parents are very up front, others wait, and that is for numerous reasons (safety, emotional, depending on child's age and developmental readiness...). Adopting isn't a secret, but it IS a privacy issue.

AAAA quote "“Adoption agencies are licensed, regulated, and monitored by the state in which they work. Prospective adoptive parents who work with a licensed adoption agency must meet certain minimum requirements. Birth parents are provided with services such as counseling, legal assistance, support during the pregnancy, and help with the adoption plan and plans for future contact. Adoption agencies typically assign social workers to work with prospective adoptive parents and birth parents, provide counseling, mediate future contact, complete an investigation of the prospective adoptive family, arrange the legal consent process, and connect adoptive parents and birth parents with legal and supportive resources. Adoption agencies frequently consult with adoption attorneys to make sure that laws, rules, and regulations are being followed appropriately."
This is not at all similar to current trafficking procedures or with slavery as it pertains to colonialism & enforced slavery of [yes! Humans, as you thought - but humans that were disastrously stripped of all rights *for their Entire Life*, and their ability to be considered as any more human than a horse.
I know things are complex and bad situations happen even when protective legal shields are in place, but I think your comment and it's claims & comparisons are, if not egregiously fallacious, then at least not supported by a majority of adoptees.
And, again, I do feel compassion 🙏 for you & all who were & are mistreated when they do not have a voice. I believe that you feel your truth as stated in your comment to be true. Every person on trial is aloud to bring on credible witnesses, character witnesses, and credible evidence. This guy right here has just as much rights as any other person on trial. This guy right here is know on trial to send him to his death, so the state has to prove that he committed this crime with a malicious and conscious intent on hurting others. Which he did, but the lawyers have to prove it. If they break his rights at any point. This trial gets thrown out, and a possibility of getting off free. Because of Due Process, if the state doesn't follow Due Process to the T, than he has a chance of getting it thrown out. That's why it seems like he has so much rights.

I do think he is deeply damaged and sick in a way that isn’t his fault, but he still knew what he was doing was evil and he did it anyways. He was fully capable of choosing different behavior.
I hope this trial can shine light on the outcomes of trauma, abuse in the family, and drug addiction/mental illness. Maybe as a society we can look for solutions for these families in crisis. Maybe we can learn from these testimonies how to prevent school shootings and promote the mental health of students/identify those who may need help.

In 3rd grade he threatened to kill his teacher. He destroyed a TV just because he lost a video game. He said and did violent things, acted out at school and home and did his fair share of bullying. His parents were concerned because he hid the axe he would use to chop at the dead tree in the backyard. He had 77 behavior reports from High School and it wasn't because he was a gentle victim. If he was "bullied" it was because of his behavior where people rejected him. He wanted to be included but he was a trouble maker and didn't have social skills.

What did the 3rd grade teacher do to illicit such a reaction?
Lots of kids act out in school and, being bullied often creates more bullies.
Obviously the parents weren't concerned enough if they didn't take steps to address their concerns.
So a lack of social skills and behavior problems is somehow excusable so long as suits the group doing the excluding?
So by that way of thinking it must be okay to exclude everyone with behavior problems, like people with down syndrome?
The problem I see here is that his peers were close minded bigots and, perhaps his eventual snap was the result of a lack of kindness, compassion and understanding from his peers.
If that was the kind of treatment he had to endure than I am not at all surprised he ended up doing what he did. Society and your peers hating you simple for being born the way you were and, not really have the ability to change.
As a society we create these people and then have the nerve to shame them for breaking down and resorting to violence.

While I agree he was very mentally ill, his access to weapons (made for what he used them for) was the catalyst to the atrocity he committed. Secondarily, the lack of a social safety net like mental health care, more social media surveillance for dangerous forums are also needed. But to sit there and say guns are not the problem in a country where gun violence is the leading cause of death for young people is just beyond asinine. Beyond asinine.

They mimic what they see on tv, on social media, they take on the mindsets of what they observe, to make up for their own deficits. They do this far passed the age at which they should have stopped - because they are developmentally stuck. It's a ticking time bomb if they are not pulled out of this mindset, closely supervised and influential material removed. But his parents died 🤯 to top it off. Who was going to save him from himself then? Just because he was legally an adult doesn't mean he could function without help.

Simply knowing right from wrong is not enough to stop someone from acting wrongly, so we should not be too judgmental about the defendant (Cruz). We should imprison/kill the accused but need to do so without being excessively judgmental, although I understand it will be hard for the victims or their families to stop judging.
All of us know we shouldn't smoke, over-eat, become intoxicated and so on, yet many of us fail to live up to what we know to be true/correct. All of our actions are reactions. We are reacting to greed, fear, pride, lust, and so on. We are trapped/bouncing between various attributes/emotions/mindsets...unless you are free of these attributes you cannot say that you are acting freely because you are acting under their influence and my understanding is that you have very little say (choice) in the matter.
We are simply reacting to the sum total of forces weighing down on us and different people react differently, some more extremely than most and crack faster than others. If we were trapped inside Cruz's bio-suit (body) and found ourselves subjected to the same pressures, it's very likely we would have acted in a similar fashion.
Walter E. Kurtz (Marlon Brando) from Apocalypse Now - "You have a right to kill me. You have a right to do that… but you have no right to judge me...Because it’s judgment that defeats us.”

    • @Victoria-wz9ub
      @Victoria-wz9ub Год назад +3

Your entire argument makes no sense. A judge is in charge of proceedings. The jury will judge if he is on Death Row or given life. We judge every minute of every day. A lot of the time it's what keeps us alive. Sorry, but the vast majority of people do not murder 17 people. Many have endured difficult/sad/depressing/abusive lives. They don't murder 17 people. This is a unique case. No amount of 'understanding ' this individual's brain will explain what he did. The fact is 17 people are dead and their families have to listen to this utter claptrap about his broken brain. I cannot understand your point of view and am happy not to.

@@Victoria-wz9ub The judge and jury are doing their duty based on the laws/framework laid down. That's why during jury selection they avoid selecting potential jury with extreme biases. My post is for the wider audience who knew neither the accused nor the victims. We should imprison/kill the accused or do whatever it takes to preserve our sanity/notion of normal, do what it takes to maintain the integrity/stability of our societal structures. But to impose a sentence based simply on the fact that I know right from wrong is a bit too simplistic and naive, especially coming from us armchair warriors.
I'd recommend reading the poem IF by Rudyard Kipling to arrive at a better understanding of what I'm trying to convey.
You are not comparing apples to apples. Many are in a similar situation and so they are still fruits, yes, but not the exact same fruit. Would you have more sympathy for the accused if this became the norm, if the majority acted in similar fashion? I don't think that should be the criteria for sympathizing with someone - just my opinion.
