this just feels so much like some kind of fantasy world. occasionally, you can find a magic newspaper, which updates itself weekly.
- creating items out of nothing
- wastelands full of rock and fire
- a land covered in a giant flood
- magic newspaper that updates itself
- some areas have 3 headed monsters causing havoc
- a god who watches over the land but does not interfere
- weird chaos going on, all the time
- rare and valuable ancient artifacts (beta leaves)

Fun fact: griefers like to read the news papers. So that’s why no one sought out to destroy something that gives for free.
Information is key, so free information is quite nice and useful. Who’d want to get rid of something so useful?
Not to mention it can easily be rebuilt and isn’t a massive base
@@al_rusty420 Yeah the bots and particular idea can easily be moved if it is griefed. Well not easily, but it can be done.
Even if they're successfully griefed, the team can just set up somewhere else in the server and continue where they left off.
With how simple it is to rebuild I think the only way to truly grief them would be to find an exploit that breaks maps or constantly raid every new base they set up, both of which are probably rather challenging
The most chaotic and interesting server in minecraft just keeps getting more insane tbh.

This map id reset thing could theoretically be used for an instant update: have two mapart areas and swap the ids
but that would also reset the other maps witch would be a real jerk move
This is a good idea but if the separate map art gets leaked to the public then the public of the 2b2t server will have 2 separate maps for the news without knowing which one is the current one.

I doubt he will see this, but it would be a great idea to have the bots add a UPDATING NEWSPAPER banner over the map art so people dont think it's being griefed, wouldnt be too difficult either to have a bot write the words above the main map in a bright color like red and remove them when the update is complete

Could even be set up to switch out using pistons so a bot didn't have to spend time on it
Believe it or not baritone isn’t perfect the only reason why the newspaper could be done by baritone is the simpleness of the map and even then it needs to be operated by multiple bots working at the same time .
…Or just have that be underneath the whole area by a block or so, and then have the bots remove just a little extra blocks to show it. I think it would be fine.

Honestly one of the coolest things I've heard about this thing. A fully functional newspaper in a chaotic server is amazing

Have they never had griefers? It seems ridiculously simple, since maps point to the location where they're made.
i think the map reset was the grief attempt. since the news recycles materials destroying the facility wont do much since the bot accounts can just eat duped or imported food.
I'd assume there's also several bot guards
Even if that were the case, i don't see much hardship in building a new 2B2T Times in another location with their advance bot accounts.
The actual location of the map art is not available to the player, as only the id is. The server has a list of the ids and locations of each map.
Dont you have to be close enough to see the direction it's in?
Damn, out of all the 2b2t things you've reported on so far, this is probably the coolest yet, only rivaled by Rusher war reviving 2b2t

2b2t will be its own D&D campaign one day. A post apocalyptic world ravaged by war. Ancient artifacts, OP items and weapons scattered across the lands. Stories about legendary players and bases. They even have age periods like in Lord of the Rings.
MAAAN, I wish spiral knights was still big, the OST still is beautiful it's like it's made exactly for me, the instruments and orchestration is just perfect.
Finally, someone else talking about spiral knights. I miss that game, I used to constantly play it and grind the Apocrea event. Good times, man.

I might be wrong but did Fit accidentally expose the location of the map art by showing the naturally generated terrain in his footage? Isn’t there an exploit that allows people to find coordinates based on terrain

There were times where I would want to be part of this 2b2t community but I know there would be a lot of risky situations. But just the fact they have history and a historian like you fit has manage to document most of it is truly amazing. And now they even have there own newspaper in an anarchy server. That is pretty cool
A neat idea would be to add a piston based border to change colors! The colors could even be code like Green means news is “Current” and yellow could mean “news updating!”
Or maybe it could just be for decoration…

Fit. A few days after you released that Hausemaster priobanned and permamuted all Forceken accounts and reseted the maps. Forceken said the project is officially over for now.

Why have the bots make art with black and white blocks? Wouldn't it be easier/quicker to have a layer of white blocks, and have the bots place black blocks on top of it to make the letters?

Consistency. The bots would have to jump onto the words they’re creating and would work baritone harder. If they worked from beneath like they did in the vid, collection would be easier
