This is amazing! Thankyou. Just bought my FX30 yesterday. This is very helpful
THANK YOU ! finally i understood, you are the best
Exactly what i needed. Appreciate the vid!
This is insanely useful. Thanks man! Keep these coming.
Edit: You should be able to clone an edit by being in your unedited footage and middle clicking the edited footage under Clips.
Also I think almost everything you said applies for the FX3 and the A7RIII
Yeah, there are a few different easy to copy grades. And yeah, I think all the SLOG stuff should apply to any camera that shoots SLOG3, and all the cine EI stuff should work for at least the FX3, maybe the higher end ones too but I've heard that works a little different, but mostly the same
Great content man! So damn straightforward! We need more of this!
where does it start....
Man. LOVE your content!
I ordered my Fx-30 yesterday and can't wait to try it.
Can't wait to see more videos from you!
I appreciate that, thank you. And that's awesome, hope you like it
Can I ask a question to some awesome knowledgeable commenter here? I’m super confused about something….
I have an FX30. To shoot in log, I understand I how to change it in “log settings,” yada yada yada.
But what’s the deal with Picture Profile via Exposure menu? Can’t I also shoot in log going this route? When I change to log shooting in log settings, picture profile is greyed out. Is picture profile just so you can plug in an additional monitor? Can someone explain this to me? Sorry for being a dingbat. 🙏🙏
@gardengraffiti so on the FX30, log shooting is a setting like you mentioned. In other cameras, SLOG3 is a picture profile. So if you want to shoot in log, you're shooting in log so you don't want/need a picture profile.
If you wanted to shoot in S-cinetone or something, you'd have to turn off log and then select it as a picture profile.
With log shooting, picture profile is useless, which is why it's greyed out.
I hope that explains it
GREAT EXPLANATION
I quite like your audio quality. Would you be willing to share your recorder/microphone combo?
For the main shot I think I used the Rode NTG1 straight into the XLR handle from my FX30 but on the a7IV. Maybe I used the Rode Wireless Go II but I'm pretty sure it was the NTG1. For the other shot where you can see the mic, that's a Rode XCM50 plugged straight into my computer since it's a USB mic
Goated video
Good job! Like it, Could you please tell me which custom white balance you use for indoor video shoot like this one?
I set it to 5600K and very rarely change it
@@itmeremy Thank you! Do you mean even though you're shooting indoor or outdor, you always leave it on 5600K?
Please advise if it's so, because WB confuses me sometimes
@Onyxentertainment7539 yeah, I leave it on 5600K no matter what unless I'm going for something specific, and I also have my key light set to 5600K. Basically if you want your key light to look white, set WB to whatever temp the light is
I appreciate that. Thank You so much.
Sincerely!
Is filming in slog 3 and s gamuet3 cini considered recording in log for Sony cameras? If those settings are what I need to be recording in log than that is what I need to know to start recording. Thanks!
Yes, how to do it varies by camera. On a lot of them it's picture profile 8, on the FX cameras, log shooting is just a setting you can turn on
@@itmeremy I have the Sony ZV 1F, do you know what settings I would need in order to record in log and have it flat so I can do all my color editing post production?
@@jerryjeez I'm not sure if that camera can shoot log. If it can I'd imagine it'd be a picture profile
Great video.
you can show it in premiere? thanks
I don't use premier, so no, not really. My understanding is it's not really the same since premier doesn't have all the colour tools that resolve has
I have the fx3 bought a year ago and it was a pain to understand Cine EI and honestly i still cant do it without a monitor or my false color monitoring lut 😅
Fair enough, it's not the easiest thing to use
Free version of Davinci will not play 10bit?
Nope
You are crushing black too much
How so? I'm not crushing it too much in camera, only in post, so I don't see the issue. That's the look I prefer. Is there a reason I shouldn't do that?
