    the benefits of using full frame lenses on aps-c sensors are much much more. It makes your photos look like they've been taken with a medium format camera because there is no distortion and no vignetting. 1:1 macro looks also bigger and because the lenses are larger they also gather more light in the center. They also decrease the depth of field a tad more, an in-between of FF and APS.

    • @itmeremy
      @itmeremy 8 дней назад

      @elaroussinoureddine9801 VNDs are generally also polarisers, which can cause issues sometimes. You cannot control the polarisation separately from the ND, though. If you add a separate filter, you could see some vignetting because you're stacking filters further away from the lens. I'm not 100% sure about this but adding essentially a 3rd polariser, may add to the ND effect, making it significantly darker, maybe

    • @itmeremy

      The Air 2 doesn't have a native vertical mount so you'd need to mount the camera vertically by attaching the QR plate to the side of the camera. To do that you would need either a cage or L bracket, or one of those horizontal-vertical rotating mounts

    • @itmeremy

      @BillAshtonNelo compression will always be an issue with wireless systems. If you have a Pyro S and the image doesn't look good, maybe make sure you're in HD mode, unless you care about latency more, but it sounds like you don't. I will say, pro features are worth it IF you’re planning on competing in the pro space. If you’re a hobbyist or you’re just a freshman in film school and you just need a camera, then all good. Get ur bmpcc4k, fx30, etc. that’s fine. But if you genuinely want to compete in the pro space then yes these things start to become important. Timecode for example, is just something that’s necessary and when people show up with their fx3 or gh5 and there’s no standard timecode port (bnc or 5 pin lemo) then you’re risking not being jammed to sound and post being mighty pissed. That can be the cost of a rehire. Yes the fx30 has that usb dongle and if ur an fx user buy that because ur sound person isn’t gunna own a camera accessory, but if u just have no timecode ports, then ur SOL. Same with SDI. U need to support video village. U need that high quality low latency SDI connection. Other people’s jobs can’t be done unless you show them the feed. And that’s what pro features really are at the end of the day. They’re not about image quality. They’re features that optimizes your camera to be able to support a film crew. So you don’t “need” pro features for a good image. But you do need them if you plan to be working in a set environment with other professionals.

    • @itmeremy
      @itmeremy 10 дней назад

      @ethanrhanielle2474 absolutely, that pretty much sums it all up. Your point about image quality is similar to what I said at the start of the video about it being about features, rather than specs

    I've been on the fence about this for a little while now. I've always been drawn to the look and simplicity of using a handheld set up but I have really unstable hands personally, so gimbals always felt like the solution.. after a little test with a gimbal at the shop, it just feels like for my shooting purposes building a hand held set up will be more efficient.

    • @itmeremy
      @itmeremy 16 дней назад

      @ChinaUndiscovered that makes sense. Using a gimbal is also it's own skill, and of course has it's own look. I don't like setting up gimbals and I much prefer using a handheld rig over gimbals as well. As long as you can handle the weight, a solid handheld rig I think is much more versatile too

    • @ChinaUndiscovered
      @ChinaUndiscovered 16 дней назад

      @@itmeremy generally speaking the weight isn't a major issue. though after long hours, I could see how it is inconvenient. would you still say handheld rigs provide a decent amount of stabilization? natural movement and such is fine but I certainly don't want every shot to look like a chase scene in a horror film.

    • @itmeremy
      @itmeremy 16 дней назад

    Love this! My only complaints with the small rig cage which do really I love, are that the HDMI cable clamp isn’t always aligned correctly, and mine pushes the HDMI cable upward before it is tightened all the way and it worries me that it will put to much upward pressure which is really annoying. I wish it had a height adjuster. Second is in that same side, I’d love if it extended forward a bit more and had more 1/4-20 holes so that even if you had the hdmi clamp on, you could still attach side handles etc on the upper side of the cage instead of having to lower the mount piece on my Falcam handle where it gets in the way of my pinky when running hdmi. Everything else is amazing about the small rig cage. Because of this though, the newer 8Sinn cage looks kind of appealing and I’d love to get my hands on it to test the more box cage style to see how I like it.

      @@itmeremy just based on what I’ve read online that diffusers should be closest to the lens. If it’s not a problem then good because I’m waiting for my swift set to arrive in the mail lol

      @Buwuhbuwuh fair enough, there may very well be a reason for that, I've never tested it or really heard anyone else mention it so if it does make a difference, I doubt it'd be a huge one

    Can you power it off of one battery? Looking to get a getting one but want to use a converter and a vmount battery.

    • @itmeremy
      @itmeremy 22 дня назад

      @outfitterdigitalmedia433 yes, I generally run it powered from a V-mount battery using the D-Tap to DC cable that comes with it. You can also run it off 1 or 2 NP-F batteries

    Mine just came in the mail today and I went to test it out, and I noticed some strong vignetting in the corners. Seemed to be the 1/4 mist because when I took it off I didn’t see anymore. Have you experienced this as well? And if so is there anyway to avoid it?

    • @itmeremy
      @itmeremy 22 дня назад

      @anthonysosa6792 that can happen on wide lenses when you stack multiple filters. The further out the filters are from the lens, and the wider the FOV of the lens, the more likely you are to see some vignetting. There's not really any way to avoid it apart from not stacking all the filters, or not shooting on such wide lenses.

    Would you recommend the SmallRig Star-Trail Lightweight Matte Box if I'm using a 24-70 mm lens? I've read some reviews suggesting that it might be too heavy for handheld shooting and could potentially damage the lenses. I'm considering whether it might be better to invest in a high-quality 2-in-1 ND filter instead. I’d appreciate your thoughts on this.

    • @itmeremy
      @itmeremy 23 дня назад

      @domenicavalencia3815 I've never used it so I can't really recommend for or against it. It doesn't appear to be particularly heavy though, but you can get it with a support that attaches to rods so if the weight is an issue and you have rods on your rig, you should be fine. If you're going for a much smaller rig, maybe a simple filter might be better than a mattebox

    Im seeing these "SAKK's" everywhere. think I might try one. I find controlling your breathing when bracing against your body is super important. Too many people are hyper fixated on perfectly stationary footage, more often than not some natural camera movement is better for the composition. Love your work, Keep grinding mate!

    • @itmeremy
      @itmeremy 24 дня назад

      @CompositionProductions Absolutely, controlling your breathing is super important. And yes, that one of the things I like about the Sakk, how it keeps that natural looking handheld movement, but gets rig of the jerky, unpleasant ones

    Excellent video...thanks. I have the True Color ND-VARIO Pro Nano 1 to 5-Stop VND Filter (77mm). If i get the Swift System Adaptor Ring, can I press this VND filter on to the 77mm adaptor ring? I switch between taking video and still photos frequently in wildlife situations and need to avoid screwing the VND off and on the lens if possible. Thanks...

    • @itmeremy
      @itmeremy 26 дней назад

      @dragonredlodge no, that's not how that works. The adaptor is so you can use other Swift filters without the VND base, because the VND is the one filter in the system with a thread, so you have to screw it on no matter what. You could do that with the 4 stop solid ND, but not the variable one
