These cars are beautiful and amazing and sound really good, but the reality is that they get stolen and are a headache to deal with. Also, buying them is even more of a pain because dealerships want to screw you out of your money and charge a markup.
I go the other way when I see a mopars I hate these cars now to many crimes and reckless driving in my city.

I own a 21 scat (had since new) and I hate how I can’t go to New York/Philly/ Baltimore/ Washington D.C etc I even get paranoid being at the mall to long. Hell even at the beach when in season. I love my scat pack so much but damn I sacrifice a lot by not going places to protect my baby.
It just blows me on how people can’t even enjoy the simple pleasures of having a “car” without worrying about it getting stolen
There was a reason that Stellantis just had a VERY bad sales month in January.
It's just the current Fad. I remember you couldn't own an Acura Integra or Honda Prelude/Civic back in the day because they were most sought after "tuner" cars. Same goes for the Scats/Hellcats of today. I personally wouldn't buy one unless I could garage it, and had a seperate daily as well.
What I did was buy a 2009 Charger SRT8 for $14.5K and put long tubes, exhaust, CAI and a tune and have just as much HP as a Scat for 16K. Eventually will put a SC on and still be under 25K with over 650HP. Next option after that would be pull the 6.1L motor and do a 426 stroker kit for about 4K (self install) and turn up the boost and you are surpassing Hellcat numbers for 30K.

In the last 3 years the prices have gone up 20%. In early 2021 you could get a very low mileage Hellcat for $55K. Now a new Scat pack can cost that and above. Also, I'm tired of how every time I move to a another state, the local DMV will pull off some sneaky tactic to charge me for "sales tax" for the appraised value of the car. I've paid sales tax in 3 different states on the car, even though it was paid off when I bought it. Also, the interest rates have gone from 4% to 7%, mostly because of 46.

That’s the main reason I’m not in one now. It’s just not worth the stress. I shouldn’t have to add a whole secondary security system for a car that’s already overpriced. I was hell bent on getting a wide body scat. But it’s just not worth the danger or having to look over your shoulder every time your out in it. I liked in an apartment complex then , however now I have a garage. But still I don’t regret my decision. I ended up getting a M340i instead. Less insurance and less of a headache. It’s still not a scat but honestly it’s better peace of mind

I kept my 2017 Scat safe for 7 years, got stolen earlier this month from my garage. I loved that car, but I am not sure if the right move is to replace it. My area had historically been safe but things are getting worse. There just isn't a safe place to enjoy these cars anymore.
So many great options out there id give something else a try.

@@AYO_KO Ummm mine has low miles and if you pull any dealership around, for a Scat with low miles, leather add on and wheel upgrades they're going for at least, lowest being 42k and highest at 45k, pride aside my car is worth more than 35k

Then if they get an SRT 392, now there car has every option yours has but with even more. Then they’ll save money on the fact that it’s from 2018, bc that’s when SRT 392 was discontinued.
I’m not saying you weren’t lowballed, but at the same time, you just gotta realize it’s not hard to find a 392 just like yours if not better when you have 8 nearly identical model years of the same mass produced car available.

Yeah because think of it like this...they want 35K for it so they can sell it for 42k to 45k. Just pay on it another year or two and sale it or keep it. Find out how to get the rotors and brakes replaced somewhere else than the dealership to save on maintenance.

The house payment part is true I would not pay a house payment for a car obviously people do I just think that once they pay a house payment the worst part is not coming out of their house for work or grocery store and your car is gone after you pay all that money for it
I had a black scat pack briefly back in 2019 I believe it was nothing special just a V8 no sunroof or all around leather interior. But it always got all kinds of attention in it I have a garage and all but every one in the street always looked at me I mean the neighbors,kids, pedestrians. I went to get a simple oil change and when it was done the cashier called me out Mr. Gutierrez your Challenger is ready and a chick gave me the stink eye just ugly a$$ face and I didn't know her in the morning dudes walking down the street would give me that mean mug stare I went to get gas and a ping got outside my rear passenger quarter panel it was then that I turn it in I was done. It was a fun car to drive at the freeway I didn't do anything stupid you can pick up women in it quick its a status symbol whoever redesigned it for today sure knew what they were doing to give its appeal. A believe a late model Corvette wont get as vandalize as this late model Chargers or Challengers.

I’m looking to buy a 2023 Charger Hellcat Jailbreak Widebody, and the dealerships are freaking ridiculous with the mark-ups. I told them all that I will never pay mark-up prices because God forbid you drive it off the lot, and get into an accident, the banks are not going to give you your mark-up money back. They are going to give you the depreciated value of that car. F that!
Exactly! That’s why I’ve never paid markup and never will, I got 3 (5.7/392/Redeye) and didn’t pay $1 over sticker. Dumb shit happens the insurance ain’t giving you back that $5,10,30 or 100k you simply gave away to the dealer, F**K that!

I had my scat pack for almost 2 years and not once has broken into 😔(I want a hellcat) sadly
In 2016, I paid 44k for a 2016 challenger rt scat pack shaker. The only thing it didn't have was a sunroof. Most of the 2023's in Cali are going for 60k+ and have ugly cloth interior(charger scat packs included). Sad times, to say the least.
My friend bought a SRT challenger and within 3 days it was stolen. He hadn’t yet put any trackers or other stuff on it so one night it was there and in the morning it was gone. It sucks ass cause although he has good insurance we don’t know how much they’re going to pay him.

This is my second hellcat in the last 4 years I also had a scatpack (show car on bags). Never had any of them stolen the first 2 only had the factory alarms on it. My new hellcat has multiple counter measures, tracking devices etc with the final being the blick. If you get past all that keep the car 🫡

I went to 7 different dodge dealers from the Triad-Charlotte area the cheapest wide body price I got was 57K+ 3 dealer pack
I picked a 15' Hellcat up for 37k to only use as a family/weekend car but ended up selling it 5 months later for a CTSV. The car just got too much attention from the wrong people... I much rather have a conversation with a real car enthusiasts. I don't regret the switch at all, I feel like the V is a much nicer vehicle over all.

Camaros are being targeted too. Not to the degree as Challengers/charger but they are being stolen too. I know someone that just bought a new SS in GA and he was on his way back home to LA & his car was stolen overnight while he was resting in a Hotel in TX. Mind you he didnt even have his car for 24 hrs and it was stolen smh.
We don’t deal with that problem in the Midwest as much as y’all do on the east coast. Colorado, New Mexico, west Texas I’ve lived in all those places with my scat I’ve never had to hide it or put it up

They're discounting slim body Scat Packs $3,500 - $4,000 at my local dealer and they're still not selling (had the same 6 for around 3 months at least). Still no incentives from Dodge on Scat Packs and Hellcats.
It's funny that they finally sold one of them and then jacked the prices up on the remaining 5 - now discounting them $2,000 - $2,500. They are convinced they will move eventually.

I put in a spec order at the beginning of 2022 for a WBHC that had a MSRP for 89690 and got a hell of a deal at 74500 from the Hellcat Jesus that was at Dan Cummins in KY. Insurance wasn’t too bad at 198/month and I bought it knowing that it’s a gas hog and it was my daily. Had the car for a year exactly and when my policy was up for renewal they wanted 279/month and it was the cheapest by a lot. I said nope and had a 2023 F150 built in Alabama with a Roush sleeper kit for 58k. In the short of it I got something that’s faster than a Redeye for half the price all the way around. If you want something fast Dodge isn’t it and I wish I had walked away from them after my first one.
I finally got mine on Sunday 2017 dodge Daytona orange. Only thing I hate about it is that I feel every bump in the road in it

@@nolanbaptiste358 Hellcats are definitely too high in some cases but I don’t really have an issue with a full loaded red eye at 100k or a DDHC over 100k. I haven’t see a regular narrow body hellcat that high in MSRP but if something like that was 100k I would think it’s way too high.

I have a dodge charger 2010 with hellcat mods. Hell cat spoiler, hellcat tailband, claw marks for headlights, and soon ill have a front and rear hellcat diffuser.
It drives well, cheap car, cheap insurance, but expensive mods.

I don't even think it's the price itself that is a big factor but once you combine the prices with garbage interest rates nothing is really appealing right now. Prime rates for new cars are awful and if I were to buy the same exact thing in 2024 that I bought in 2021 it would be 200-300 more a month on the payment in just interest. I know I am not alone right now just waiting the Fed out until these rates come back down. Once that happens these cars will start moving again but right now you're just throwing away good money to interest.
Price is the biggest factor, if the cars were 27 to 37 grand they would have been flying off the lots 😂

I had 21 scat pack challenger. My window got broken twice in a year. The second time me and my brother was out . He was driving his 21 RS7 and they didn’t touch his car. My car was a stick. That’s probably why they didn’t steal it. I’d rather you steal it because breaking my window you are scratching it up inside and out. I got rid of it

I love my Hellcat to death! I paid $68 for it brand new in 2017, but if I was looking for one today I would be a hard pass! These cars are great and they're amazing but there's no way in hell there worth that kind of money that they're asking now. I'd go out and buy a c7 Corvette ZO6 instead for 60 70 grand

If it cost to much 💰 , it doesn't make sense. You can only fool, fools for a limited time. Engine, Drivetrain and sound, that's it. I enjoyed my charger, but not all the Heat that came with owning it. Happy with my GMC Denali.

In addition to the last call drama shit show with these dealers bending everyone over the interest rates are absolutely disgusting!!! I got my Redeye last March as a used auto loan and paid 8%, not to bad imo. Fast forward to 12/29/23 I went to my dealer and took home a brand new 300C off the showroom floor for sticker! They tried that markup BS at the last moment but I wasn’t having any parts of it lol. My credit score was 760 and still ended up with 12% from Stellantis 😂, I’ll be refinancing in a few months or after 46 gets TF out!
In just 16 month of ownership my WBSP has turned from an asset into a liability, losing $20K in value, according to KBB and Credit Karma. Kind of a bummer to be stuck with a car I’m upside down on despite me thinking I’ve been paying it off quickly, and then having to worry about the whole getting jacked thing…
Just focus on paying it down to 35 to 40k and sell it or keep it. Make sure to replace the wheel bearings, rotors and brakes not from the dealership to save on maintenance fees.

On the pricing you are stretching a little bit because the base price of a scat pack now for 2023 is 53000 as compared to the 42000 and in 2015. You are comparing the base model in 15 to the highest scat pack available in 23. You use common sense when it comes to where you go with the car so you're not going to a high risk area for theft which everyone should be thinking about.
More these cars get stolen more the insurance go up I had a hellcat they tried to steal it had a kill switch alarm they could not start it they decide to burn it up

I think your chances of theft are pretty low if you keep it garaged. It's at least out of sight most of the time that way.

5:20 the charger price for a swinger is $65, these dealers are scammers. Its best to get a used challanger hellcatty, theres prices for 65k for 2018-2021 4 digit mileage. 60 & below for one with more miles.
