Unless there is a chopper on station, it takes 10-,20 minutes for that chopper to get in. Then most choppers on have about 90 minutes of fuel "cruising". If it's going max speed 20-30 min tops.
with an upgraded fuel tank he could have outlasted the helicopter and then the heli would have ran out of gas

As someone that's run from the Harris County Police. You have 30 seconds to get completely out of sight, otherwise, you will be caught. My chase lasted 2 minutes and 51 seconds, made it 7 miles, and was never under 160 mph. I was on a bike amongst a small group and I got caught because my engine let go at the absolute worst time ever. It's not worth it, my first and only time ever being arrested, the additional costs for a lawyer, time to travel to Houston once a month for court hearings, then 2 years probation, 150 hours of community service, and $120 per month for probation. It's not worth it. It cost me roughly $15k to fight this and I never went to trial. It's not worth it.
Thanks for sharing your honest story and the lessons you learned. You were lucky that innocent citizens were not injured. These videos are fun to watch but they encourage some people to run for the thrill and bragging rights. Its not worth it especially when people get hurt.
Not worth it, i know a couple guys in my city that died on bikes running from cops
@tomparker9966 I got lucky. It was midnight in the early stages of winter around 30*. I could ride extremely well as I had done some track days but still. If I had hit a car and survived, that would have changed so much in terms of my charges. They ended up never charging me with anything reckless related, only the felony evading and I think that's only because the cop could never get a radar lock on us when we were speeding.
@@Tracked350Z I can't say I didn't learn my lesson the hard way. First time I ran they just charged you with failure to yield to blue light and siren. I made all the wrong moves. Took the first right, left skid marks in the road and hid behind a building on a dirt road. Took the state police about 5 minutes to find me. Extra $120 in court costs back in 1974. Last time I ran I lost a car that I had been building for 10 years and spent a week in intensive care. I finally figured out how stupid running is. That's how people get killed and you end up in prison.

a cop waiting on you is an indicator that air pursuit is involved and youre screwed.
at that point obviously your chances of escape are greatly reduced.
