How To: Streak-Free Glass Cleaning! - Chemical Guys

- Streak Free leaves no streaks, spots, or stains and truly makes your glass disappear. The advanced formula even contains static inhibiting agents that help resist dust that is attracted to the surface due to the charge generated by rubbing surface with a towel. Streak Free helps that dissipate the charge so once clean, your glass stays that way for as long possible. Use the Red silk-edged towel to clean and dry the inside of windows, and the use the Blue silk-edged towel for streak-free results on all exterior windows and glass. For an all-around workhorse towel, go with the Blue microfiber stitched-edge towel. For large drying jobs, go with the extra-large Blue or Gray Drying Towel, or the Yellow Pocketed Drying Towel for super easy spreading.

Not gonna lie that’s me every time I clean the windows 😭. That pro tip to going downward motion for exterior and horizontal for interior is GOLD! Definitely picking up that tip .
Happy detailing!
Yep I concur. I hate doing windows because of the continuous streaks
Started watching these videos about nine years ago when I first started with a DA orbital buffer for polishing, scratch/swirl removal and general upkeep. Nine years later I still find new videos to help me keep up different areas of the vehicle both interior and exterior.
Glad to have you as part of the Chemical Guys family!!
Vertical and horizontal....what a great idea. Dang, such a simple idea I never thought of. 😃 My new C8 is owned by a noobie detailer. I'm learning thru your videos and using your products how to keep it looking fantastic. Thanks again, Joey!

This helped so much 😅I kept watching other people with their methods and it was so complicated and extra work , this is the one!

Try using this method and you'll see the streaks disappear. Thanks for being part of the Chemical Guys family!
Thank you for your quick response. I ordered this product, your response was probably faster than the time it takes me to.clean my windows. 😆
Happy detailing!!
I've cleaned myriad car windows but I'll still watch. My skill is always evolving and videos like this help.
Thanks for watching and happy detailing!
I’m stunned. Of course, if you use a little forethought, watch this video, use the right technique and chemicals, you will get positive results. I’m guilty: I’m one of those spaghetti-motion glass cleaners, using random squiggly motions etc. Your video is very informative, I learned a lot. Thank you for posting.
Thanks for watching!
Thank You! This video was very helpful.
Happy detailing!
Thanks for the Video. So I was at your shop here in West Palm Beach Florida. I have the hydro View. I used regular windex and then Hydro view. So much film and streaking. Made me nuts. Went in to talk to Joe at the shop and he said to NOT use Windex due to the Ammonia that reacts to the Hydro View. I should use the Streak Free instead cause it has NO Ammonia. Did just so. Worked out perfect. Gotta know how and in what order to use your products and Thanks to Joe at the Detail garage in WPB Florida and his advice and Knowledge!
Enjoy your detailing products!
As someone who hates cleaning windows because of streaking, this might be a helpful video! Gonna try this method next time I do my windows.
Glad it helped!

I’ve made the mistake in using just regular microfiber rags, leaving lint that’s a pain to get off. The vertical and horizontal movements is so simple yet genius, definitely steeping up my detailing game now.

Wash the rags before first use to remove the leftover lint.

Just wanted to double check, but the use of the honeydew snow foam and Mr pink shampoo are both ceramic coating safe right?
Hey! Yes, they are both safe for ceramic coated vehicles.
Great pro tip. What if the water spots are still there? Do I clay the glass?
Hey! We recommend Heavy Duty Water Spot Remover Gel. Water spots are the mineral stains left over after a drop of water evaporates. The specialty gel neutralizes alkaline stains with a mild acid, removing the stuck-on water stain quickly and effortlessly

I wanna see a video on how to polish a windshield. I have a 1989 Mustang GT and the windshield is severely pitted and everything from over the 31 years it’s been driven.
Hey! Glass can be very tricky when it comes to polishing. Glass does not have clear coat, which means you cannot removes scratches or pits from the glass. If it is severely pitted, we recommend replacing the glass. Thanks for watching!

How would you know if the glass cleaner is to strong for your windshield??
Hey! Great question. If you have tint that means you cannot use a glass cleaner that has ammonia in it because it will discolor it. Thanks for watching and happy detailing!
How do you remove tough water stains on windows or windshield??

Glass is my biggest struggle when I comes to detailing I cannot clean glass to save my own life
Can I use this product and the Heavy Duty Water Spot Remover Gel on tinted windows or is it just for windshields?
Hey! Keep in mind, the tint film is on the interior and water spots are on the exterior. Which means yes, you may use Heavy Duty Water Spot Remover Gel on all exterior glass. Thanks for watching and thanks for being part of the Chemical Guys family!
Can I use the ceramic glass cleaner on top of the Jet Seal?
Absolutely!
Appreciate you big dawg do u have a product for the interior cleaning ??
Check out Total Interior for all interior surface detailing.
I just dont understand why always in the garage away from direct sunlight. I would like to see this product go against direct sunlight 80🌡90🌡degree weather. U guys have many repeat products. Hey I have an idea make products for us detailers that work in direct sunlight.
We recommend always working on a car that is cool to the touch or away from sunlight. Thanks for watching!
Its not good to work cars in direct sun light. But IF you can't you can try butter wet wax, works fine for hot paint. For waxing your car in direct sun light. Any other product I will use it indoors.
Exactly. It's easy as pie making a vehicle look amazing in the shade or in a garage. Try doing it in 90 degree weather with the sun beating down, drying up your chemicals and creating water spots ect. It's a whole nother ballgame.
Can you dilute this glass cleaner
Hey! We do not recommend diluting Streak Free. It will work amazing full strength. Thanks for watching and happy detailing!

What if it has water spots? Do you clay bar first, then clean, then hydroslick or butter wet?
Hi Kierra, start by cleaning the window then use Heavy Duty Water Spot Remover to extract spots before they can etch the surface and then apply HydroSlick for a super hydrophobic finish that will repel water spots.
- CG Nick
Omg so stoked you guys responded! I just thought in another video it said you could claybar the glass. My car is brand new and the water spots aren't that bad
If not spots then normal glass cleaner then hydroslick?
Lmao mine currently looks like this 😂
Hey Cristal! Restore clarity with the process shown in the video.
Chemical Guys thanks I sure will!
Would u recommend shop towel?
Hey! For a streak-free finish we recommend using Waffle Weave Microfiber Towels.
Is there a Protectant / wax for your windshield?
Hi there! Check out HydroView to protect glass.

Do you spray it on the towel for the inside?
Absolutely! Control overspray by misting the towel.
Just bought 2 waffle weave towels and streak free. I’m so tired of struggling to get my windshield streak free.
Enjoy your detailing products!
May i use this product without washing car beforehand? Just apply product and clean it with towels?
Absolutely!
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but with your signature glass cleaner, I'm getting haze left behind. I'm using two towel method with 2 workhorse microfiber cloths (just ordered the waffle weave) but I keep having to go over it again and again to try and eliminate the smudges/haze. Any tips?
Hi there! Prevent streaks and haze by using clean Waffle Weave Microfiber Towels, less product and working when the surface is cool to the touch.
@@ChemicalGuys So not when it's 95 degrees in Massachusetts and the car is in the sun like today? Haha. Thanks for the advice. Looking forward to trying the waffle weave

What products work for water spots on the glass

Would you ever use a clay bar on the glass ?
Blair Summers you could use it but it’s not necessary
u can
Hell yeah you can
You can use it. Believe it or not. If the glass has heavy contamination embedded in it. It will act as a hook to your microfiber towels and leave some lint behind. I had that issue . Applied clay treatment and it solve my issue. ( used the same towels)
Hey! Yes, we recommend the OG Clay Bar and Clay Luber. The OG Clay Bar Kit is the perfect way to take your detail to the next level by removing embedded contaminants and pollution to restore your rough paintwork to smooth-as-glass feeling!
www.chemicalguys.com/og-clay-bar-and-luber-synthetic-lubricant-kit-light-medium-duty/CLY_113.html
Why did you spray the towel on the inside instead of on the window like you did on the outside?
This is my own thought but I always spray directly on the towel when detailing the inside of the windshield because if I spray the windshield directly you risk spraying your dash which can leave a film or residue on some plastics. Hope that helps!
Hey! Spraying onto the towel will reduce the chances of getting over spray.
@@dylanbowen7240 Thanks! Makes sense
Is this safe in ceramic coated glass?

Hey! Streak Free Window Cleaner is safe for tint.
Wipe the outside of the glass from top to bottom and clean the inside from bottom to top that way you know how to differentiate it guysh.
