  • Say goodbye to smudgy, streaky glass for good! In this video, Henry will guide you through the process of making sure your glass comes out with a flawless, clear finish every time!
Streak Free Window Glass Cleaner gets your windows and glass crystal clear every time you wash your car. Spray a generous amount onto your glass, then with a sweeping up and down wiping motion, wipe away all that dirt and grime.
Clean exterior glass is only half the story, though; you'll want to make sure the inside of your windows has been treated as well. For interior glass, it's best to use a side-to-side motion to avoid streaking and reflections. Continue to spray and wipe until you see no more streaks. It's that easy!
The road ahead has never looked clearer when you use the right tools and techniques for the job! Get your car's windows extra clean and streak-free with Chemical Guys!

Answer is Squeegee. Forget all the sprays, and special rags. Use some citrus based degreasing soapy water, get a mild scrubber you would use for dishes and wash the windows. While still soapy and wet Squeegee it off and wipe any drips. I'll never waste my time again trying to buff out the streaks with microfiber cloths... Squeegees eliminate the whole problem.

That's good for an average home job. I find window cleaner, on cheese/mutton cloth to wet wipe the window, then microfiber to wick up moisture to eliminate every possible smudge or streak mark. I do professional detailing, and the standard is "every square inch of that glass, prestine".

Try vinegar in with that soapy water.

Smoking and especially vaping cause a significant amount of visible residue on interior glass surfaces.

Actual answer: when sunlight/UV light beats down on the vinyls of the interior ,the vinyls give off something known as off gas.
Off gas has a high surface tension characteristic. This is why the film is so uniform across the interior windshield.. You need a very mild abrasive / magic eraser with a decent glass cleaner to break it down … then polish it up. ( tyvm CF)

That glass cleaner, and glass cleaner in general won't fully get rid of the film on the inside of the windshield. It's from all the chemicals off gassing from the interior material.

I noticed that microfiber towels leave fibers behind on the windshield and when the sun hits it you can really tell they are there. Any tips?

Yes, that is correct, but what happens if you don't have a light. We try to do our videos to cater to everyone. Some people may have a powerful light others don't. But yes, that is a great tip thanks for sharing!

The film on the inside of the glass is partially caused by off gassing of interior protection/ shine products.
