I needed to hear this today. If I make it 16 hours over night without eating, I feel like I could go to a buffet somewhere and pig out. (I wanted to say, "eat a Subaru" lol.) I love you, Jillian. Thank you for not only being relatable, but also for believing in us.
It’s because you are addicted to sugar and carbs. Your body doesn’t know how to burn ketones for energy. Anyone who says fasting is not healthy goes against millions of years of human evolution.
I appreciate your input. I don't find it hard anymore to do IF because I'm sleeping better. My doctor says to try it 3 times a week. I don't believe it's unhealthy at all. Not sure where you got that from, but I only watched the video once. However, I don't believe she said it either.
Sleep is so important for weight loss, or even avoiding weight gain. I suffered from menopause-related insomnia for several years, and not surprisingly gained a lot of weight. I was SO HUNGRY! I had to have a substantial snack every afternoon. Like basically another meal. It didn’t matter what I did or what I ate, I was always hungry. Then one day, after years of doing everything I could to solve the insomnia, I finally started sleeping better, and guess what. My appetite decreased and I started loosing weight. I’m still not slim, but I’ve lost about 20 lbs.
Honestly the only thing that helped the insomnia was time. It went away on its own. I did find a supplement called Luna that seemed to help a bit, but I tried dietary restrictions (whole 30), acupuncture, meditation, yoga, magnesium supplements, and sleep hygiene practices. I avoided alcohol, caffeine (never could kick coffee completely though) and stressful experiences as much as possible. I’d say that all of that gently supported healthy sleep, but nothing actually cured it. One day I just started sleeping better. I assume there were hormonal reasons.
This is great information!!!!! 🤩. I'm a single mother of 8 amazing adopted kiddos that I absolutely adore. I just turned 57 last week and I feel great other than a knee injury that has kept me from my regular walking routine that I know has helped me stay healthy. Your thirty minute workout video was my jumpstart off the sofa years ago that got me moving. These tips are just what I needed today. Thank you so much 🥰
I'm getting back into it. Tracking calories, ratios and switching lifting weights and HIIT training. I'm good on sleep but I need to stop worrying. Worrying about everything. I also recently discovered something. I like the occasional smoothie, but ingredients can go bad quickly. So, I go 2 avocados, scooped them out, smashed them and added a little lime juice. Then I created 8 scoops of the mash, put it on parchment and froze them. Now I can add 1/4 of an avocado to a smoothie. I also froze fresh baby kale.
Hi Jillian! Could you do a video on how to add calories back after a fat loss phase (reverse dieting) and what changes to exercise should be done during reverse dieting? Thanks!
Eating beans specifically can help curb hunger throughout the day. It’s called the second meal effect. It seems to work for me. For some reason they are more filling than any other food. It’s not just the fiber.
I've gone thru paying for Noom, watching the Vshred videos all this WEEK and it led me HERE. wow this is so simple and easy and I feel like an ass for looking to spending money to help me with my 30 lb weight loss
Thanks for the good tips, as usual. ☺️ My experience is there are plenty of plant protein sources for vegans that are satisfying & good for the body. It’s important to work toward a balance of diet, exercise, sleep, hydration, etc., that’s right for everyone’s specific needs.🌱
Loved the Subaru comment! My mom ALWAYS drove a Subaru. I had been training with your app for six months before going on vacation to Africa. Right before I left I got sick which took me out for about two weeks.(one week going into vacation) Then while in Africa I got malaria, and COVID. Needless to say for 2 months I hadn’t been able to workout the way I had. Now that I’m home and feeling better I’ve started back at it with your 365 workout. But I had loss a shit ton of tone and muscle in those two months. For someone who’s 40 that means a lot of things are saggy😞. Advice moving forward to get back after sickness.
Like to hear this! I am 61, BMI 44, just starting trying get in shape. I really need to loose weight but I know slow is better. But I have NO idea how to start!!! Ty for advice. Pls keep it coming!
Really great content, priceless advice, and love the way you shoot your videos candidly, not to mention just the perfect duration for compulsive ADHDs like me .. lol..
Jillian , will you please do a video on adrenal exhaustion? And how it affects the prefrontal cortex and how to nanage it , get out of it when you're in it ect... besides the obvious to stop and rest . Thank you
OMAD enthusiast here! 😬🤷♂️ I do eat big then though. Which helps me go a day. OMAD helps sort out my appetite nd energy actually. Like keto diets, whatever works for you! I hate keto diets btw lol
You were right, I am vegan and I did not like that comment. But you know what? I would love if you can help us bringing the idea to research centers to make that kind of studies for all sort of different plant based protein to have more info and advice to us too. By the way, you are my shero!
Can you please show us the study that says that animal protein help us feel more satieted. Why should we speak about things as if we know them? When in fact, we don’t.
Thanks for sharing the info it was very interesting oh and I must say god bless you that for your sneeze and know worries it could happen to anyone but anyways thanks again for info I need all the help I can get now with that being said peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Jillian and your fiancé and your whole family and I’ll see you on the next Jillian Michaels positive video also please be safe out there also I really love ❤️ you and all you do to help people your my hero
Thank you Jillian! Just see you is my motivation! Is this video mean that you are against interval fasting? I'm not a fan of it but it is very popular now.
actually high fat and protein is extremely satiating and you don't need a lot of it to feel full. High calorie IS satiating. Meanwhile I can eat 3 salad bowls and still feel unsatisfied and hungry.
I have been following you for 10+years. I started with your book Making the Cut and have never looked back. After having 2 kids, working full time, and approaching 40 I feel like my metabolism has definitely slowed down. I feel like what used to work, doesn't cut it any more. Do you have to approach weight loss differently as you get older? What are your suggestions?
Hi I love you videos. I need information on best ways to lose weight and tone muscle during menopause. I’m 52. Exercise daily. Eat fairly well. Always slim and toned but without a say in it my body decides to put weight on waist, hips and butt. Skin has become loser. Unfortunately I can’t to heavier weights at present as I have some neck pain that maybe arthritis? With a trapped nerve that runs down my arm. I hate this as I’m active and need to exercise for mental health and well being. So having to adapt. Just waiting for an appointment to look at options to manage this. Any advice greatly appreciated.
I'd love a video on your opinion on the whole ecto, meso and endo body types. Does it really matter as much as some nutritionist say it does.... personally the whole thing confuses me...😩
That's all nice and well but what does a vegan mum with a 3 year old (sleeping is a novelty) and IBS (high fiber can aggravate it) do? I'm also going through early menopause. I have 10lb to lose but just not shifting. 😥
I am 55 and have been on some diet forever and I am still overweight. I want to have a better relationship with food; one that does not control my life. I want to enjoy life and be healthy - where do I start?
i posted a video on how to start last year - start there! find your why, eat a little less, move a little more, and you will get to where you want to be. ruclips.net/video/lxBcyfcQ1BU/видео.html
@@JillianMichaels Wow, have just watched your video. It really is common sense. What I know I don't do is work out. I move all day (about 14000 steps) but need to make time to work out - I am on it!
With all due respect, I think this is the wrong time in my life to put focus on my dating market appeal. And I'm a little bit taken back at the suggestive nature of the Google algorithm.
Well, this is tragic... not so much this vid but hopefully the others have been taken down. Is she a registered dietician? Or just a popular fitness trainer with a complex?
0:30 sleep
1:00 high intensity exercise
1:40 hydrate
1:55 high fiber foods
Don't skip meals
Get animal protein in every meal
I just love how she keeps it straight to the point and accurate. Much appreciation to her. I love you Jillian
thanks, i try ;) love you back

What do you think about Konjac/glucomannan??
Help me stop binging on sugar! Thank you
Is it true that drinking water before a meal dilutes stomach acid and interferes with digestion?
And animal protein is making you feel like that comparing with what? With bread? Because in that case, your sentence is true.
