Same here, I'm down 28 lbs with minimal exercise. I try to aim for around 1500 a day but I have cheat days where I go over by 500 to 1000 every now and then (it's good to treat yourself sometimes) I really recommend calorie counting using my fitness pal, it takes a little while to get used to but you'll find yourself quickly dropping down clothe sizes and become more knowledgeable about managing calories and what foods you should eat each day. The best part about calorie counting to me is that even if I have a bad day and have some cake or something, I'm usually still at a deficiet since my cap is 1500 and I burn around 2500 on average each day. It's nice knowing that even if you mess up its not a huge deal and you can just get back on track the next day :) wishing you all the best of luck!!

Facts! Iv lost 70lbs doing the same thing 240lbs to 170lb. And no it doesn’t happen over night. This took me 2 years. I eat about 300 hundred calorie deficit but walk 1 hour a day to get me a total of 500 calorie deficit. The biggest tip I can give to others trying to lose weight is to WEIGH your food. Look at the nutrition label and see how many grams is in 1 serving of that food. Most people who eyeball their food end up eating more calories than they think which will slow down your weight loss. If you’re thinking you’re in a 500 calorie deficit but actually only in a 200 calorie deficit you’ll think counting calories doesn’t work. Remember don’t forget to track sneaky calories like oils and sauces. Don’t drink your calories, eat them you’ll be more full. I promise you this works.

I am one of those on the 1200 calorie a day diet, eating 90g of carbs and losing significantly. No weight loss surgery either. Counting calories and working out is the only way to get it done! 😊
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in May 2021 with an A1c of 10.2. With change of diet and exercise I was down to an A1c of 5.1 in Aug 2021. To those out there, it can be done, don’t give up hope.

Yes I agree. I started doing this and it's so sustainable and makes me feel in control. Plus it helps me to allow myself to deduct or carry over those extra calories into the next day. And I'm aware that for ie) no today I will not eat that specific food bc I already ate that amount in calories yesterday. I keep a food, serving and calorie journal and I'm losing so it works for me. Plus I'm not into committing to keto, or ww, or veganism. This method works bc I can have whatever I want in a healthy way....and being aware of every foods calories makes you rethink what you are eating and why. It's an ongoing process but it's healthy bc it's a lifestyle not a diet.

This video, togheter with 30days shred, was my first step towards my weight loss. I was chunky and couldn't fit in any of my clothes anymore. I remember avoiding to take photos and shopping and so on. I started a balanced diet and worked out regularly (hiit and running), and I lost 10 kg in less than 3 months. I am 33 and now fit in clothes that I used when I was 18. Thanks Jillian, you are an inspiration.

Scott D, The key is staying on the plan long enough to find out whether it works for you. If it works you must stay on it for the rest of your life, more or less. The mistake people make is to use the diet as a temporary remedy and go back to eating badly when the weight is lost. That is yoyo dieting resulting in a messed up metabolism.

You make perfect sense and you are so right about energy. This is the first time I hear someone use the word 'thermodynamics' in relation to weight loss. Congrats! You nailed it. I never hear the 'keto docs' explain this the way you do. Maybe it is not simple enough for those guys. I lost over 35 pounds in 8 months by eating 50% less calories. I eat anything, including carbs, but in reasonable quantities and it works. No refined sugars, no soda's, and absolutely no alcohol.

The keto diet nor the vegan didn’t don’t work for me whatsoever, mind you I just came from my country two years ago and never gained more or less than 117lbs but that all changed once I got in the State’s. I lost 20 pounds in a little over a month and i joined a keto group on Facebook amd it seemed that every one was claiming that keto was not a harmful diet and that any issues that may have come up during the diet related to health is because it mustve been an underlying disesase that the person just didn't know about. The reality of my situation is that i just dont move often enough and thats where i need to place my focus rather than on a diet where i have to severely restrict my carbs in order to lose weight in lazily manner.
