Jillian is mostly correct. We’ve got to add the drastic increase in processed carbohydrates. Not just calories.

Yep. The next time you watch TV (not a streaming service) take note how many commercials are for pharma drugs and garbage processed (fast) food.
We’re being played for sure. They can’t make money from people eating right and exercising.

If there is a drug that helps people loose weight and they have little success in diet, exercise or whatever, why not. We all can't be Charles Atlas. Some people do have a genetic disposition to retain weight. I happen to be one. I have exercised for over a year and done every diet under the sun and my successes have been few and far between and every time I always wind up where I started. So don't listen to two people who aren't overweight talking about weight control.

Especially when one of them has made a very successful career in promising weight loss who doesn't appreciate the competition. Pot calling out the kettle when she decries that "it's all about money"?

Because the drug in question destroys all tissue, not just fat, and is in effect a drug to promote wasting (essentially, entropic dying). Except its quite a bit worse than normal wasting, because many of the people taking it continue to load their critical organs with junk food. So it is like suffering simultaneously from a wasting disease while bombing your live/kidney/pancreas.
I think by now everyone knows this is just another tragic lawsuit drug and not a magic bullet, but people interested in taking it try to "destigmatize" it in online posts.

Dead right. Ok for her to defend diet and exercise - of course she’s right BUT not for everyone. I ran 5 - 7 klm a day. Swam squad training 2 times a week walk my dog 4 klm every day and still gained 30 kilo after menopause. Pardon those of us who can’t help it Miss vitriol.

Well I’m sure the exorcise worked exactly as it was supposed to. People just think you burn way more than you do. You can go for a 20 mile run and you’ll burn 2,000 calories. But who’s doing that. Most people run 2 and wonder why they don’t lose weight. 2 miles is only a can of coke. So exercise means nothing. And you probably didn’t accurately count calories. No one needs these drugs and you don’t need to be atlas either. Just eat 500 calories less a day and you don’t even have to work out. You lose 50 lbs in year. You didn’t do it right.

I'm confused... She says the only thing that ozempic does is suppress your appetite... But why WOULDN'T any overweight or obese person want to eat less? If that is what Ozempic does by making someone NOT have constant uncontrollable urges to eat then how can that a bad thing?

Ok I will follow the money. Jillian makes hers by the willpower method. She has to be in print and on air and all over social media cause thats her brand. She sees it as a threat to her income stream. If she embraced the success people have with Semaglutide, she could get these folks to follow her and get even more success but she’s taking the wrong side of the argument. She is not a well known as a scientist and doesn’t have CV to authoritatively say this is a bad treatment option. Frankly, neither do I. I can only provide a couple of anecdotal examples but, I am down 50 pounds with SEMAGLUTIDE, I now also ride my bicycle 50-70 miles per week and my blood work, blood pressure and general health is far better. Obesity is the only major health problem that we prefer to treat with will power. I did not exercise for the first 6 months on Wegovy. Lost weight and began to get outside and enjoy exercise. I hope she changes her view and addresses the many folks who will lose weight with these drugs and realize that they also have the means to buy fitness programs- and the need!

She said that it was bullshit that diets and exercise don’t work… she said follow the money to see why that narrative exists… the medication you are taking (I’m on Ozempic for Type 2) lowers appetite and makes you feel full. It lowers calorie intake. You lose weight and then decide to exercise? Yeah… that’s what she said… eat less and exercise works.
She didn’t say the medications don’t work. She said the narrative that diet and exercise won’t work is driven by the money made from those medications.

    • @lukeduke6693
      @lukeduke6693 Год назад

I'm sorry about your eating addiction, but I have reviewed the drug in question and it mostly destroys non-fat tissues. It is essentially a wasting/slow death drug that allows food addicts to believe they're making progress for a few years before prematurely aging and dying. It's a selfish ego trip to promote it to the next wave of victims knowing it will kill them.
Eating addictions are the only addictions with a market so large that we can rely on collective addict denial to pretend they aren't addictions.

She’s such a big mouth. Some of us can’t help weight gain no matter the 5-7 klm I ran every day. The 2 swim squad training sessions a week and walking my dog 4 klm a day, walking 4 klm to and from work 5 days a week and still gained 30 kilo after menopause. So don’t tell me I can help it. I can’t. Thanks for making me feel even guiltier than I am already.
If you are lucky enough to get through unscathed that’s great. But for some of us it’s a battle. I hate her approach - perhaps tempered with a bit of understanding it might be palatable.

I used to jog, and I realized I was just wasting time. The goal is to get your heart rate in the appropriate zone and then keep it there for maybe half an hour.
You could jog for an hour and only have your heart rate in the zone for 5-10 mins. What I would do instead is sprint right off the bat, get my heart into my zone, and then start jogging. This will save you from wasting time.
The goal is to keep your heart rate in that zone, the zone being 180 minus your age, I believe, for at least half an hour. Trust me when i say you're not immune to exercise, there are just better ways to go about achieving what you're after.
Adam's episodes with Vinnie Tortorich go over this in more detail.
