wonder why they didn't just offer it as option to be installed at factory. Not sure if they did in Japan, seems weird to only be offered as an accessory. I would be really curious to see the actual benefits related to drag, i do think its great to help keep larger debris out though.
So TRD made this for the first gen (this one on the second gen is technically still TRD), and I bet there are some reasons why it wasn’t something from factory, but I can guess one reason why is because it has to be installed by hand and if it’s too close there will be clearance issues. As for drag, it should smoothen out airflow to the spoiler and provide more airflow to that spoiler because air isn’t going straight into the trunk (which would cause drag). It’s kinda the same idea as taping all the panel gaps so there is only smooth surfaces for air to flow on.
The audacity of this dogwater company is pitiful. For those that don't know, Kevin Vo was fired from FT Speed on 12/13/2022 in a disgusting way. Buy your parts from somewhere else than FTSpeed or Subispeed folks; support somewhere that supports its employees and treats them with respect. An 8-year, passionate, face-of-your company employee deserves the respect and courtesy of at least a conversation being had about any conflicts of interest or things that would necessitate termination of employment if continued. To outright fire him out of the blue without giving him a heads up or notice that something he is doing/saying will not fly and deny him the ability to make an informed decision on what his options are going forward reflects poorly upon FTSpeed/Subispeed. In a game where you just play the middleman, I will gladly take my business elsewhere to some other middleman that isn't FTSpeed/SubiSpeed; there are a plethora of other options out there that can access more or less the same catalogue of items. FTSpeed/Subiespeed did Kevin Vo dirty, when Kevin Vo was a SIGNIFICANT part of why the company is as successful as it is today - hopefully yall's marketshare takes a deserving hit and Kevin lands somewhere that will treat him better and be worthy of the good-business his passion and efforts bring forth. If you enjoy content like this, look up and support Kevin Vo's personal youtube channel, where I'm sure he'll be continuing to put out excellent, valueable content without getting screwed by SubiSpeed.
Nah, I actually like how the window disappears under the trunk. Also, unless this or any other aero mods were tested in a wind tunnel, anything you see regarding aero improvements is questionable. Anyway, thanks for the video, appreciate all your content.
Get a TRD, it has a nicer interior over the new base model, also it’s more rare and values have stayed steady if not gone up a bit. Also it has brembo brakes and better dampers. And I may be biased since I have one, but it looks way better lol
