OMG, the way you cleaned that coffee maker 😳 I would never plug it in again after that. Wiping it down is easy, and then, you aren't soaking all the electrical components.
Oh my! I must’ve missed that napkin holder trick! That is really great. I am so glad you talked about mobility issues. There are so many things that I can grab in and out of the covered. Also, my husband is one of those people who likes to see things out. So he’s not going to drag the coffee pot and the coffee grinder in and out of the cupboard. They stay on our counter. Thank you very much for all your hard work
I am so busy between working full time, house projects and just the day to day cleaning, laundry, cooking etc. I take one area depending on my available time and reorganize it. Today was my bin with saved jars that I use for my diy lotions, kombucha (fuutre project). I tell myself it did not get this way in one day and it will take more than one day to put it back in shape. TFS
0:27 LOVE IT!!! I use dollar tree trays that i decorate myself to hold smaller items on my counters as well as on my dresser to easily remove for cleaning
Hey Shannon. Great video. Try to get multi purpose gadgets as well. I love, love love Peppermint sage cleaner as well. Look forward to cabinet video.😊❤
I have the same kitchen space as you do! 🎉 I moved the entire coffee area to a small rolling cart on the opposite wall. It is fabulous. Below it are shelves that hold the coffee and filters and sugar tea etc. yay! We call it the drink station. Wonderful way to declutter coffee machine. ! Thanks for the great tips. Love your show! 😊
The stuff that lives on my counter is stuff I use ever day, sometimes several times a day - water kettle, coffee maker, toaster. It's just too bothersome to get them out and put them away multiple times a day, plus we're limited on storage. I do like the idea of a place mat under the coffee maker to make it easy to move!
Shannon, I swear you are my soul sister. I too like to clear everything off the counter before I clean and put back what deserves to go back. I’m sentimental and have tchotchkes on my window sill and counters here & there. We have been in our home 26 years (as of this past Thursday) so it’s just a given I suppose. Your pep talk was spot on and your tips were excellent no matter the size of the kitchen. You were born to do this. Keep inspiring and encouraging! You are a star! 💖🌟
At my age, like you mentioned some things have to be kept out for ease of use. If I had the space and the physical ability to lift small appliances each time need them I would. When your 40 something child tells you it is too cluttered just smile and say "uh-huh." Granddaughter organized my kitchen. She is clueless on what I use daily. For example she put my coffee cups at the back of the cupboard and big glasses in front of them. Well in her house they drink big drinks so I can see why she did what she did. In my house, it is coffee 75% of the time.
Hi Shannon, great tips for moving the countertop appliances! I can't wait to see the next video you are talking about! I have a small galley kitchen, clutter everywhere!!
My Keurig and KitchenAid stand mixer are on thin, black rolling trays. My Keurig is on the counter with a small cabinet directly above it with my K-Cups and coffee cups. My Vitamix does not get used everyday so it is in a lower cabinet. All lower cabinets in my kitchen have Pop-it® sliding cabinet drawer organizers.
I so agree that putting our identity in things limits us. I'm with you with the love of uncluttered. Any ideas on how to convince my dear hubby that we don't need every gadget that gets invented? I'm a windowsill collector too!
9:17 i use these clear plastic cutting mats and an exacto knife to make my own stencils lol when i use said stencils i use archive-grade masking tape that is kind paper-texture on the outside to hold my stencil in place as archive-grade tape leaves no sticky residue, is easy to remove, and can be written on with just about any writing utensil… however, the best place to get them for this purpose is at the Asian’s booth at a flea market bc thwy come like 6 or 8 to a pack mostly colored but one or two if them is also clear and i only paid a $1 per pack
I use coffee pot like that with the pods I put vinegar n water n flush it thur a few times and then put fresh plan water to flush to get the vinegar out of the mechine and it will work much better
Clutter drives me crazy, but it’s really difficult to keep the clutter at bay since a few years prior to my 😢MS diagnosis. My counter tops and table drive me INSANE!
Shannon the jar you put your roses in, has a wire closure. I have similar jars but I need rubber rings . Do you have a resource for replacing them? I have a an air fryer similar to yours. I keep it my coffee maker kitchen aide mixer o my counter. Thank you for this blog
I have limited counter space. I found a couple things. A three tier "fruit" stand gives upward space for bananas, a loaf of bread, and onions. I also have a few items I use often. I have something similar to a cabinet riser, usually for plates and bowls. On my counter, it lets me "stack" those regularly used items, without looking over cluttered. After this video and your minimalist experiment, I'm really considering pulling everything out of my cabinets, and just putting back what I really use.
Katie I know it’s prob not the right way! I do my best to only get water where it normally goes snd so far I haven’t had issues. Always unplug appliances before cleaning.
For some reason I can't get rid of my dish drainer. I don't have any space to put it in a cabinet. I do try to keep it cleaned out once my dishes are dry. My mom use to say the elves come and dry them and I just love the thought of that. But it's a eyesore and I don't have a lot of counter space. Help!
I have cleared space to store mine vertically under the sink. Another idea, perhaps you have a cupboard door large enough to put a couple hooks inside and hang it when not in use. Hope it helps!
Shannon can you tell me where (in dollar tree) I can locate the clear cutting boards? I cannot find them anywhere around here (Alabama) but maybe I’m looking in the wrong area?🤷🏻♀️ thanks so much for your content!
Hi Dee, I have the same problem here in Iowa. I did see them once, and I got the last one. It may be that they are as popular where you live as they are in my area. As to where to look in the store, they should be in the kitchen items area. I think I found the one I got on the wall with kitchen utensils. It may have been on a shelf or a hook. I hope this helps. If anyone reading this knows if I'm wrong, please shout out. It's been a while, and when my area stores get them, they go very fast out the front door. 😊💐
Dee & A C I recommend you try and find the person who does most of the stocking in the store and ask them. Most DT stores put them with the “wall” of kitchen utensils. Hope that helps! You can also use placemats for the same.

Everything goes to the counter that's for sure

There are 13 Dollar tree stores within 5 miles of where I live
Sheila oh my goodness!
LOL!! Then you'll be able to find things we probably can't!!
@@sharonlatour6230 sometimes I go to three four or five dollar trees and still can't find what I'm looking for. It's very frustrating

I wish I had as much counter space. My kitchen has a double corner sink. The counter space is only a little bit passed the sink.
Jennifer thx for watching!
I have a baker's rack that holds my appliances.
Great idea!
