This is a game changer!
I'm so happy it was helpful! Thank you, Julie!
I recently did a pantry makeover and my biggest "aha" moment was that even though I don't use the kitchen aid ALL the time (and therefore shoved it to the side behind the folded door) it was such a pain to get it out, being heavy, at a weird level, and I hated it. I decided it was an absolute MUST to have it at waist-height and easy to grab, even if it's only used a few times a month. In fact, all the appliances are now on that middle shelf to save me back pain. I call it a big win!! :)
That is a big win, Libby!
I use my kitchen aid blender a lot during holidays. I leave it tucked to the side counter on a linen towel. That way I can slide it easily out ! I put it away in January because then I usually just use it to make pasta!
That's the reason my kitchaid blender is still on the counter, all heavy stuff stays.
The only bulky thing I have on my counter is the thermomix which can be used to make so many things, which mean I don't have to buy additional raw ingredients, reducing even more things in the house. I think investing in multipurpose appliances definitely help to reduce clutter in the kitchen. If you are interested, here is my own minimalist kitchen tips ruclips.net/video/yNC-F6V3W6M/видео.html xCC
The eye-level shelf in my fridge is where the 'eat it now' food is kept. If it's on that shelf it has a short fridge-life and needs to be consumed.
That is such a great spot for those items!
I hate it when I try to look at recipes online and there’s tons of ads and videos! It often puts me off even using the recipe as it’s such a battle actually getting to it haha! 🤣
That is so true!
Yes. It is annoying.
I can't stand adds so I just write it out on a large index card. Then I have the cards in an index card holder.
These are some of the smartest tips I’ve heard. Definitely not the same old info regurgitated by many vloggers. Subscribed.
I was going to post the same thing!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!
I 100% agree
What a great idea to batch the surface clutter! This is going to solve my problem of really needing to keep certain things out, but really wanting to have cleared off surfaces. Thank you!
I'm so glad, Andie! Thanks!
Thanks for those tips! I’m actually in my one week no spend per month, so I totally agree with your one day delay idea. I realized that I had way too much food in my fridge, freezer and pantry in December, so I decided to skip the grocery one week per month to make sure that I use up everything I already have. I realized that I store way too much when items are on sale, but actually sales come up every 4-6 weeks. Therefore there is no reason to stock up so much. I got a little insecure at first, but it actually works really well!
It is awesome to catch the sales rotation! Thanks!
#2 is so smart! I know two drawers I’m going to switch already.
That's awesome, Erica! It is so much fun to do!
@@AbundantlyMinimal it’s great to be on this playlist with you!!
I know! There are so many amazing channels! I'm looking forward to watching the other videos tonight!
Hi Erica! I love having all my favourites cheering me on. It’s amazing! 😍🙌🏼
Actually did this yesterday-felt to so good!
“Crisper drawer”? We call that the “rotter drawer” at our house 😂
Haha I definitely can relate!
I call it the produce drawer of good intentions.
I call it Freddy Peterson.
😂😂😂 that’s why I use one to hold meat I’ve taken out to thaw, and one to hold my protein drinks. Because veggies always get forgotten and rot in them.
So true 🤣
Oh my I love the tip to search your favorite restaurant menus for new meal ideas to get out of a rut. Genius! Thank you! I am on it.
Yes! I love it!
Love the 1 day later tip for groceries!!
I'm so glad!
Thank you for all your wonderful tips. never thought of looking at restaurants menus or delivered meals to get ideas for what to have for dinner and how to make things. i will sure give this tip a go. looking forward to the rest of the decluttering series.
You are very welcome, Julie! I'm glad it was helpful!
Oh, wow! I'm glad you're included in the collab. I listened to some of them the other day.
Thank you! Me too! :)
FINALLY....a video with unique content!!! wonderful tips!!! Thank you....ill be subscribing!
Thank you so much, Tanya! Welcome to the channel!
I really like the one day later concept.
It's a win when you can make your favorite restaurant meal for 1/4 of the price at home! Great ideas.
Heck yes!
Great tips! I've always found that your videos provide practical, useful advice for regular people. Please keep it up!! :)
Thank you so much, Kelly!
My husband and I do intermittent fasting, we eat 1 meal a day. I love making meals that last several days 😁. We love leftovers.
That's awesome! You are a meal prep champ!
Yes on batching! Didn’t know this was a “thing”. Have been doing this for a while and I am loving this. And it makes it sooo much easier to clean counters. Thank you!
I'm so glad to hear this! Thank you!
I swapped my pantry and cabinet storage. The pantry on the far side of the kitchen now holds platters, dehydrator, large bowls, and that sort of thing. The cabinet under my main food prep area now has all my canned goods and overflow stuff like bulk flour. I find I'm doing way less walking when working in the kitchen.
Such a great swap, Connie!
Decision fatigue!!! Especially with meals and grocery shopping. And I’ve been cooking for 30 years. RUclips, Pinterest etc is a godsend to find new ideas and make them my own.
So true!
Great tips Sarah, thanks for sharing- I especially liked the batching kitchen clutter one, so often I've heard advice suggesting that you put the items away when you're not using them, but it's great to have another option that allows you to keep the most used items out whilst still having a completely clutter free area.
I'm so glad it was helpful!
We do that tip with the crisper. All the jars and homemade sauces etc are in the drawers and I have 2 extra baskets on the middle shelf with the fresh items. It makes us more aware of needing to use them
I love it! Glad you've found what works for you!
Nice tips as always, thanks Sarah.
As for convenient placement of stuff you eat every day, I do the opposite of you: I place my everyday food (i.e. cookies 🍪!) in my furthest top cupboard so as to force myself to do a small climb if I want them. 😁
Thank you, Katrine! I totally understand keeping those types of treats out of reach! I have to try to not even keep any of those in the house haha
You should check out the over the sink drying rack... they have ones that stand up above the sink and one that actually fits over the sink opening, this would free up even more counter space and look more visually pleasing as it actually blends in with your sink.
Thank you, Shannon!
Batching, omg this is me! I cant stand stuff scattered in every corner and my husband insists on stuff being out
I'm glad the batching can help!
I love the crisper tip! So smart.
I'm so glad you like it!
As soon as you said to batch things the 💡 came in! This is what I needed to make it decluttered and create usable counter space. 💗 Thank you!
I'm so glad to hear this, Emily!
Yay! Sarah, I'm so glad to see you on this list for January. Good info, as always. The first one is really clever, the last one I use successfully, but never heard anyone else suggest it. Looking forward to seeing your next video. God's blessings to you!
Thank you, Robyn!
I like the “One Day Later” idea. So many great ideas. Just starting my minimalism journey so I will be checking out your channel more. (Darci)
I'm so glad, Darci!
Yay glad to see that you are also part of it 😊🍀 thank you for the video Sarah 😊
You are so welcome, Sina! I'm excited to be a part of the challenge!
This January Declutter collaboration has been fantastic! I've learned so much and feeling motivated to make some changes. Your video is one of my favorites. Your swaps & ideas are spot on but not things that would normally occur to me. New subscriber here.
Thank you so much! It is such a wonderful group of channels participating in the challenge!
Batching items to free up counter space is genius! Probably one of the best tips I ever heard.
Thank you so much, Linda! I'm happy to hear that!
Good tips. I definitely practice the “one day later” for grocery shopping. Or because I do pickup, it’s “two days later” since I never pick up on the same day I order.
Two days later is even better! :)
These are great ideas! Love the idea of batch grouping items on the counter. We have a vintage breadbox I enjoy using and also displaying, but do enjoy a cleared off counter. I also loved the tip about checking out the restaurants and food services for recipes and ideas! 💡 Genius!
Thank you so much!
The fridge crisper drawers at our house hold all the soda cans and juice pouches .
That is a great idea!
Due to health reasons we ditched the soda and juice at all.
My top drawer is produce- bottom drawer beverages! Sodas, h2o bottles, etc...various alcoholic and non alcoholic choices
Whenever I have guests I direct them to that drawer and say- help yourself!
Thank you for this. Your advice was totally things I can manage. So often this subject is covered by people who are not in anyway relatable to me. Things those people suggest wouldn't be possible for me on my very best productive day.
You are so welcome, Fiona!
Great tips on looking up restaurant dishes and using recipes from meal kit delivery websites! One thing I do differently is to purposefully put my regularly used kitchen items up high or down low...to get in some extra squats and stretches throughout the day. Hope you are having a very blessed day.
That's a great idea, Charlotte!
Great tips! I never thought of batching my clutter. We switched to a drying mat instead of a dish dryer, and that picked up some more space
Thank you, Judy! I'm glad to hear that!
I also put away my dish dryer. Also decluttered a lot of dishes so now I try to wash, dry and put away everything in one go. Gets me getting those dishes done, very satisfying to have it all packed away in one go xx
@@shawkins2665 me too! Agreed
I'm so glad I found your channel I just did the half clutter have clear thing on my countertop and what a difference it makes. I'm going to keep watching for more tips thank you
You are so welcome! I'm happy it made a difference for you!
Thanks Sarah. 👍 Simplifying solutions 💙
You're welcome, Sandra!
I really love the restaurant idea I think that's maybe the first time I've ever heard that tip! I definitely think this is great idea I want to call in our school and have worked in restaurants and I definitely have made dishes at home that were either ones I had cooked in a restaurant or ones I had come across and recreated at home for myself. Definitely a smart idea on an easy way to mix things up. Ashley one of my favorite salads that I make at home I had first eaten at a max and Irma's restaurant It's like a Southwest salad and it had a barbecue ranch dressing on it and it has corn and black beans on it and chicken and greens and tomatoes and tortilla strips It's really good.
I'm so glad it was helpful! A Southwest salad sounds delicious!
Hi Sarah great kitchen swaps. I do keep all my counter tops free of clutter except for the coffee pot and microwave.❤
Thank you, Cathy!
Thanks for the great tips Sarah, especially regarding the crisper drawer!
I'm so glad to hear that, Atuora! Thank you!
Great ideas for meal planning!
Thank you, Peggy!
Just found your channel via Natalie Bennet on the declutter challenge! Really good advice here! I always called it “clustering” the appliances/countertops. I have way too much out right now and it’s creating a lot of overwhelm and anxiety for me. And such a good idea about the recipes!
Welcome, Christiana! I'm so happy to hear that!
I really enjoyed your presentation! I just happened to rearrange my fridge two weeks ago and don't use the crisper drawer for veggies anymore. One drawer is just for leftovers so my family always know where to look for them. The other is for fruit that we eat every day. So I can vouch for that idea because it's been working in my house. I am looking forward to trying other of your ideas now. Thank you!!!
I'm so glad to hear that, Pam!
This Christmas I cleared a lot of things off my kitchen counter to make room for the party and I was so pleased with how it looked, I’ve made it permanent! My counter now has only two things on it, and I enjoy that simplicity everyday. I put my toaster and espresso machine up in “appliance quarantine” (on top of my cabinets), until I’m sure I don’t need them anymore, I’m 90% sure I can get by with the toaster function in my oven and 50% sure about the espresso machine 😂. Thanks for the video!
I'm so glad to hear this, Ellie!
Yes!! The meal service idea is so smart!!
Thank you, Kymn!
I love your organized kitchen! Your kitchen is beautiful!🤗
You are too kind, Lucy! Thank you!
Great tips Sarah! I especially like the last one. Thanks for sharing!
I'm so glad to hear that, Sandi! Thank you!
Brilliant, thank you. Going to use some of these swaps.
I'm so glad to hear that, Rudy!
Loved the HelloFresh cookbook tip! I have used HelloFresh as gifts for friends but had no idea the cookbook on the website existed! 😃
I'm so glad to hear this, Hillary! I checked around on several different sites to make sure it worked across the board and every single one had detailed recipes!
I LOVE your ideas for looking for ingredients, meal ideas, etc on restaurant websites!!!
New subscriber TODAY!
Thank you, Teresa! Welcome to the channel!
I really enjoyed this video! Great tips and I like the idea of batching my clutter! I have only left out what I use. Thanks Sara!

I'm so happy to hear this, Rebecca! Welcome to the channel!
This is a great video! So much content that I found helpful because you presented it in a unique way. Some of your ideas I already do but you made them feel new to me again. I love the one day later rule. I will be trying that. Also, I love the menu idea for planning meals when I'm in a boring rut. I'm new to your channel, found it through the clutter free January playlist. When I subscribed to your channel, I quickly scrolled through your playlists. I love the simplicity and font in your videos. I'm looking forward to watching them.
Thank you so much for all of the kind words, Tania! Welcome to the channel!
Great video. I love your tip about looking at restaurant menus for inspiration.
I'm so glad to hear that, Denise!
I loved your idea to look at menus from different sites for ideas!
Thank you so much!
Mini meal prep is totally awesome. I will chop extra onions, prep a couple of extra oranges etc. when I'm cooking. I will also do this when I'm prepping ground beef. I make extra & freeze it. This way I can use it for whatever meal needs it with just a defrost in the microwave followed by warming it up with whatever spices I need for that specific recipe. Love her ideas!
Love it! Thanks, Sarah!
Love these swap options !!!
Thank you, Teresa!
Love the "next day" grocery shopping tip!
I'm so glad, Carol!
you are so right, I find myself throwing away so much produce because I have a craving and or the family like to eat different meals.
Enjoyed your organized video.
Great tip to look at restaurant menus for meal ideas. Also hello fresh recipes great idea. Thanks
Thank you, Sharon!
Great tip to search for recipes from restaurants sites. I will most certainly be using that one, thanks!
I'm so glad to hear this! Thanks!
Those all were some really good tips that I am going to try out in the next few days. Thanks :)
I'm so happy to hear this, Lyn!
Good timing as I need to clean out my cupboards!
I'm so glad to hear this, Amna!
I love all of these tips!
Thank you, Sheila!
Just love your suggestions!
Thank you, Barbara!
Loved ur new ideas & the easy explanations, & off I go 2 rearrange my already rearranged kitchen😄... I did feel, may b there was a better way of arranging my kitchen, & lo behold, thats exactly wat u had asked... THANK U so so much, infact tons...
You are so welcome! I'm glad it was helpful!
Oh new to you and love this video thank you looking forward to your others
Welcome to the channel, Alice! Thanks!
I love the one day later rule!
I do this alot! Another similar technique I do if that doesn't work in my schedule, is to make my list as normal and then go through and remove a few things so that one or two of my meals for the following week will be actually using up other things in the pantry that I already. have
Thank you, Sarah!
I love “batching” I do this with onions, peppers, spaghetti sauce etc. For recipe inspiration I use Skinny Kitchen. She has quite a few veggie friendly ideas too.
That's wonderful, Robyn!
Lots of great tips here. Thanks!
Thank you, Caryn!
Loved your tips! Thank you!
Thank you, Filipa!
I love the "One day later" hack!! Thank you, new sub😊
Yay! Thank you, Christy! Welcome to the channel!
I work with batching as I have a shortage of cupboards but having decluttered I have managed to clear up space and get more off my worktops xxxxxxx
Congratulations on clearing up some space, Debbie!
Thanks for the different tips I’m going to check out the last tip
You are so welcome, Laura! I'm glad to hear that!
I've been receiving 'Hello Fresh' boxes since the summer, and the menus have definitely got me out of a rut with our main meals! I've cooked with all sorts of ingredients I wouldn't have used before. But as you say Sarah, the delivery box option is quite expensive, and I choose not to spend that much every week. However, I store the recipes that come with the boxes in a folder, and then look through them for inspiration for meals we've liked, and then I cook them from scratch. Thank you for all the tips!
I'm so glad they have been helpful!
Great tips. Like the one day later!
I'm so glad to hear that, Alexa!
Thanks for the new meal ideas! We are only leaving home for grocery pickup and doctor’s appointments. I’m so bored with my cooking!
You are so welcome, Imogene!
Truly awesome tips for clutter free counter top.👌👌
Thank you, Jyothi!
Love this!! Great reminders and I’m definitely going to eat that asparagus that’s been hanging out in my “hurry up and eat us drawer”! Lol
I'm so glad!
Very clear and sensible advice. Thank you .
You're welcome, Jennifer!
Love the meal prep tip on the onion! 👍
I'm so glad to hear it, Mary!
New subscriber here, great video and tips! I always "steal" recipes. Love to copy ingredients from yummy ready made salads and pastas from supermarkets xx
Welcome to the channel! I'm so glad you've been using those strategies too!
Wow I actually do almost all of these tips. The one day later tip is easier now that I don't like going to the grocery store during the pandemic.
I'm so glad, Dani! I completely agree with the grocery store avoidance.
#2...yes! I keep our eggs in a crisper drawer.😊
What great ideas! Dang!
Thank you, Bettsi!
First time watch your video, love your channel name. Minimalism never means inadequate life quality.
Thank you so much! Welcome to the channel!
Recipes on blogs used to drive me crazy too with all the "talking" and ads and videos, but now I just put the link for the page into the My Cookmate app (I'm not affiliated with them) and it pulls all the ingredients and directions out into separate categories so it's easy to use. Game changer!
Thank you for the tip, Joyce!
My problem is lack of cabinets and countertop space. I have maybe 2 feet of countertop space on the right side of my kitchen and around 4 foot on the other side. That is it. I am hoping that one day we can afford to redo the kitchen to add more of both!
We totally get that! Our last apartment had very little counter space, so we did have to keep more things out and they didn't feel as spacious.
Could you bring in folding TV tray tables as extra work surfaces? Use your nearby dining room table as a work station? You can do non-plug-in-appliance work such as chopping vegetables, rolling dough, setting up meal prep containers, etc, on the dining room table. Good luck!
Another idea is to add an island. U can find great furniture @ Ikea.
@@cherisolomon1508 My kitchen is way too small for an island. I turn from the fridge and am at the stove. I just need extra cabinets and countertops now that my washer is out of the kitchen and hopefully the dryer soon!
I enjoyed your video suscribed! Dawn minimal mom is awesome, Cass clutteebug and Steph from secret slob my fav RUclipsrs, looking towards to checking out the rest of your vids
Thank you so much, Sbella! They are wonderful channels!
I love your ideas....😊❤️
Thank you, Francine!
Love the menu idea! I'm want to eat healthier but where to start when your standards are anything but. The menu idea is genius.
I'm so glad to hear that, Jennifer! Thanks!
Thank you!
You're welcome, Edith!
Brilliant hacks!
Thank you!
