    After loading & weighing my large samsonite suitcase for overseas trips, I would roll it to the back of our SUV empty. I could easily lift it empty. Then I would carry out clothes & put them in the opened suitcase in the back of the SUV. Saved my back. Jeanne

      Lol! That's how i unpack my big suitcase because i live in a 2nd floor apt. It's easy to get my suitcase down the stairs, but kills me to get the full suitcase back up the stairs.

    I use packing cubes all the time when traveling. I have both the regular cubes and compressed ones. I like how it keeps my things neat and organized. You also can put the cubes in the drawers at hotels.

    Good ideas. Another idea for the suitcase tags is to put the info card in the tag facing away from the window so if anyone takes a peek, they can only see the blank side. Don't include any address info, just your name and an email address or telephone number.

    • @shannonskiptomylife

    • @sarahschreffler5407
      @sarahschreffler5407 Месяц назад +2

      PLEASE include at least a telephone number. If someone else picks up your luggage and you are left with only theirs left, you'll be very happy to have a way to get a hold of them immediately and not wait for them to check their email (assuming you have the ability to write an email from the airport)

    • @mary-ruthflores4107

      I put my initials on the blank side, and turn the info to the inside. But there is a quick ID if anyone questions

    • @cullensistah
      @cullensistah Месяц назад +2

      I flip my tag over with my info facing backwards, but I write "see info on back". I also put a copy of my driver's license and passport in each bag as well.

    • @kaylaEA_
      @kaylaEA_ 24 дня назад +2

      @@cullensistahIf possible, I would hide this inside the suitcase lining. That way if the bag is lost that info is hard to find, but you know where it is.

    To keep my dirty clothes from making my luggage stink I use giant Ziploc bags and I never have a vacuum cleaner to suck them up and make them flat so I sit on them then I close them and they're just as flat and your suitcase don't pick up the older

    I love packing cubes especially the compression ones, saves room and if you are staying at one location, it's easy to pack and unpack and keeping everything organized. I do both roll and fold within the packing cubes depends on my luggage and the items i'm packing, shirts, vs bottoms vs jeans vs leggings vs yoga pants etc.

    I love packing cubes for ease of packing/unpacking when we are going to several destinations or overnight stops but my “aha” moment was at the airport for an international flight. Many of our fellow passengers were scrambling to adjust clothes to avoid overweight baggage charges. It was a bit embarrassing to watch the chaos as clothes were shuffled, falling onto the floor and just creating more mess than it was solving. One of our bags was 2 lbs over the limit (evidently our scale was not calibrated as well as the airline’s). All I did was open my suitcase, grab two of the larger cubes, weighed them and threw them into my personal bag. Easy peasy and took less than a couple minutes. That experience made me a true believer in using cubes or, because I am cheap, I now also use our reusable shopping bags in the same way except I will sort by day, rolling all the clothes I plan for the entire day, place them in the bag, roll the bag shut and into the suitcase. When we get to our destination, I have gotten lazy enough to simply place the bag handles over clothes hangers and hang it in the closet, especially if the clothes don’t need to be hung to get wrinkles out.
