      As an editor myself, it is surprising how quick you can do a highlights reel. I'm the main editor in a league and I usually get race highlights out about 2 hours after the event most of the time, that's to download the stream, watch the whole thing back and cut up the sections.
      Formula 1 probably have a whole editing team that most likely edit the highlights as the race is occurring, hense the insane efficiency of them, and that's what I admire and want our league to be one day!

    • @beastirick
      @beastirick 21 день назад +67

      @@FeaturesGaming I do eSports broadcasts and we usually have like one person recording replays and sending clips to media team that does the highlights afterwards. So that at least cuts out having to watch the whole thing because someone already has picked the interesting bits during live broadcast. For us essentially if something interesting happens then you just press a button to save 1 minute (can vary depending on the game) before and after the press. So I could imagine this could be done by 2 people, one recording and 1 editing although the speed at which these come out is still impressive but I could imagine you could get pretty fast at doing these when you do these almost weekly.

      @@FeaturesGaming yeah, not only they have a whole team of editors with specific roles (a few of them watch the race and decide which parts to get, then others check for relevant team radios and then there are some editors) but also it's done in real time. last year in Monza i spoke to a guy who worked as a network manager in the circuit and he confirmed me that there's a room just full of people preparing the highlights as the session goes on
