I pick up about 20 packs of crayons, note pads and hot wheels and hand them out to kids in developing countries. $60 for me isn’t much but the smile on a kids face is priceless.
Oh, I thought you were going to say on the plane to keep them quiet. Now that I thought of it, I might do that.
Yes! I've been looking forward to 'packing hacks' and 'tips and tricks' video from someone like yourself and Suzanne, who can be described as 'professional travelers'!
Greener Grass should try to get a ride on an Atlas Airlines 747, queen of the skies, military charter flight. Maybe not ultra luxury, but it would make a great video.
Me tooooooooooooooooooooooo!
@@harryd9579 Or try a C-130 somewhere. Seats made out of nets and no flight attendants telling you to put your tray tables up.
(2:15) Tip: if you are buying an outlet extender, please make sure it is UL Certified to ensure it doesn't damage your electronics.
GREAT Point!!
Then don't buy it at the dollar tree 😂
I like the kickstarter Mogics bagel. Very pricey, but it has built-in breaker, and the short extension cable can help one attach more plugs at a more convenient location instead of say 3 plugs off the wall, one can lay the plugs on a flat surface like a table top. Newer models have faster USB port but they aren’t as good as dedicated fast USB ports. So maybe you can save a bundle by getting older models of the bagel and use your favorite GaN charger plugged into its side instead.
You will not find anything UL listed at the dollar store! Or if you do, it’s fake. I would not get anything that plugs in at a dollar store. That includes USB chargers, extension cords, night lights, etc. Too risky.
Or ETL certified 😇
I used to work all over Africa - I always travelled with duct tape and gaffer's tape (no residue). But no need to travel with the entire roll. Just wrap 5-8' around a pen. It'll keep it easy to use, and you now have two pens (one for each type of tape) easy to find in your bag.
Thanks for the fun video - enjoyed seeing the choices y'all made!
Wtf... Suzanne's suggestion of using a pill organizer for jewelry blew my mind 🤯 Amazing idea!
Best idea, did you hear that mom? 😂
I love love the Dollar Tree. One of the tips I would add is, (if your traveling domestically) Dollar Tree is also a great store to visit when you arrive. Things like liquids can be saved for when you get there.
That is the cleanest, most organized Dollar Tree I've ever seen. The ones in Chicago are messy.
I've not been in one Dollar Tree that wasn't messy! 😂😂
They probably don’t have many blacks shopping at their dollar tree
lol I was thinking the same thing. Ours are messy too.
@@CongressSux1776wow dude. Wtf
@@ToriE1073
Oh I’m sorry, are you not aware of the destructive “culture” rampant among the blacks?
Yeah, it makes me angry too
Love the idea about shower caps for shoes. Packing tip…. Yes please
I have tons of plastic bags from grocery trips in my to recycle bag. I just use those around shoes.
Hi Jeb and Susanne ! I like using chip clips to keep hotel drapes and curtains closed. They of course keep snack bags sealed during trips as well. Safe travels to you both.
Great tip!! We also use the hangers from hotel closets to do that!
Wait, how does that work--the hangers? @@GreenerGrass I need to make that a habit. Traveling with painter's tape too. Those hotel lights always get me. Bring on the episode about the packing tips! New viewer here and really enjoy your approach travel videos
@@mpbee78the hangers that have clips attached are what is used to keep the curtains closed!
Clothes pins are cheaper and work better! Don't know what a clothes pin is? It's for hanging clothes on a line to dry.
Oh, right, of course 🤦♂
Hey Flight Attendant here and I can tell you that I have at least 10 of these items, that 3 outlet plug has very often been a friggin life saver!!!!
Can't say this was on my Jeb Brooks 2024 bingo card lol, but the more you know😂
First - you have a really nice Dollar Store. The one near us is woefully under stocked. Second - I do most of these - always travel with ziploc bags - they are the duct tape of travel. Always buy my toothpaste and shaving cream at the Dollar Store - the 2.7 ounce size is ideal. I have a blue ribbon on my bag, a cough drop/life saver combo bag in my briefcase, and buy snacks. Hadn't thought of the dryer sheets - good idea there. Thanks!
Jeb, yes! Most expert travel tips work well in the EDC life - having small zip bags, first aid kits, in your daily carry bag.
I see a travel video mini-series: dollar store travel finds; best bags (checked luggage, carry on, daypacks, backpacks); travel snacks; personal safety when traveling; etc.
Thank you and Suzanne for your knowledge and expertise!
Rosalyn
Love this! Your enthusiasm is infectious and a main reason I love your videos. It may sound weird, but your videos got me through a lot of hard times. Your high energy and positivity truly does impact, thank you guys for your videos!
Wow, thank you! I hope times are better for you now.
Suzanne, the pill organizer and shower caps were GENIUS. Thank yall!!!! I recognize my home airport, Atlanta. Have a great train adventure home!
Great editing on this video!! Absolutely loved it! Love watching the cam flashes from the $ store to your actual life application in the airport, hotel, etc! Loved this video!
This is usually our first stop getting off the plane. Soft soap, toothpaste, clips, hair stuff, sanitizer. Foil, plastic bags, glad ware type plastic containers, sodas, water. Then you don’t have to cram in your carry on. Suzanne’s purchases are mine too!
Great tips! Another item from just about any dollar store that comes in handy (and takes up hardly any space in your luggage) is denture cleaning tablets. I don't have dentures, but those little effervescent cleaning tablets can be used for many other things, such as soaking items that have become stained from food or other substances. If your hotel bathtub has a clogged drain or is draining slowly, crush a few of the tablets, put them in warm water and pour it down the drain. In an hour, run hot water to clear the drain. If your active travel day resulted in stinky sneakers, place them in a bucket (or in the sink) with two or three tablets and warm water. After an hour or two, rinse them and let them air dry. They will be clean and deodorized.
Great tip
I'd enjoy your packing hack video. Several years ago I had a job which required frequent airline flights. A couple of flight attndants passed on a hack or two. I'm always looking to learn more!
In the snack purchasing don't forget to add chewing gum. If you are ever on a flight and can not get your ears to pop due to colds or any other reason, a piece of gum can lead to big relief.
Wet wipes! Baby wipes for cleaning your armpits or nether regions during and after a long flight, and hand sanitizer wipes just in case the toilet runs out of soap.
The snacks from Dollar Tree are the number 1 best thing to buy for an airplane trip. I do it every time. I avoid eating at the airport or on the plane that way.
Yes! I buy snacks before every trip. The money you save is enormous.
@@LadyJay114 absolutely
Nice video. I use some of these tricks myself. Here’s one for you. I don’t use the painters tape, but gaffer tape (I’m a photographer). But, take your painters tape and wrap it around an old used gift card or hotel room key card. You can get several feet of it and it’s not much thicker than the card. Packs easier.
Great tip!
Gaffer tape can be purchased in 4 pack of scotch tape size rolls. A roll kept in a tiny zip lock bag is good for all kinds of emergencies such as taping up hems or pant cuffs, holding broken tings together (my favorite is taping up broken side mirror until car can be taken to repair shop. ) It leaves no residue and is easily removed.
Jeb & Suzanne I wish I could truly express how I feel about you two.
My wife and I travelled frequently until I got extremely ill. But as upset as I feel somedays knowing I will never get to these places you are taking us with you and sharing your love for travel and food.
Bless you two and thank you so much for making my day and being able to share your travels with my wife.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
@5:50 "What a time to be alive."😂😂😂 Jeb is hilarious! I canNOT😂😂😂😂😂 I just love Suzanne too!!❤ I'm on a work sabbatical and will be traveling every month this year. Thank you so much for this video!! You're the best.❤❤
Its the dimples

That is the cleanest Dollar Tree I’ve ever seen! The one by my house looks like “hurricane single mom with 5 kids” just blew threw, all the time..
I love dollar tree, but I’ll say that was probably the cleanest and most organized dollar tree I’ve seen.
Tons of dollar trees are like this.
YES TO TRAVEL AND PACKING HACK VIDEO!!!!!
Enjoyed this video. I love Dollar Tree for travel essentials, and already have almost all of the things they bought in my "always packed, ready to go" toiletry bag & carry-on.
When I return home from a trip I refill or replace everything I used, and never get to the airport to discover I forgot or am missing something (like deodorant).
I've been using those clear zip folders for more years than I can remember to hold itineraries, boarding passes, confirmations for hotels & rental cars, excursions, cruise documents, etc (yes, it's on my phone, too, but just in case of a dead battery, I'm all set).
I also have, from Dollar Tree, a tiny sewing kit, first aid supplies, gum for the plane, small comb & brush, Clorox wipes, a flat magnetic flashlight for metal cruise ship walls, magnets for those same walls, and, instead of those large 3.4 ounce refillable hard plastic bottles for shampoo, conditioner, body wash & lotion, I purchased, again at Dollar Tree, silicone single serve dressing bottles (like for a salad). The caps come in different colors (good for more than one traveler), and I label each bottle. As you use them, they get flatter, so they take up even less room in your 1 qt zip-loc bag on your return trip home. I filled them all a few weeks before I traveled to see how many showers per container I could take, and packed accordingly. I do put saran wrap first and then screw the cap on to prevent leaks - so far, so good.
Last year, for a 3 week summer trip to Europe, my daughter (thankfully!) bought me a small usb operated fan (which I used countless times - no a/c at our friend's house!). I also brought laundry soap sheets, which I ordered online. Hand washed a few items of clothing on the ship, so didn't have to pack as much.
I think my best tip would be that if you travel a lot, always have your toiletry bag and carry-on (with unmentionables, nightwear, and one outfit) packed and ready to go. One less thing to worry about, and sure saves time packing.
(edited for spelling error).
Since we fly in and rent condos. We always survey what the condo does or doesn't have. Then head to the dollar tree. ...never want to spend more then necessary on some of the things we need. Foil, cooking spray, hot sauce...just the right size for a weeks stay.
What a great episode idea! Thumbs up!
Don't forget those decks of casino playing cards there at the checkout aisles! Always good to have one or two of those on any trip!
I love the great buys the discount stores offer over the luggage/travel/ airport shops.
Great vlog as always! Here are some do`s and don`t from a former airline emp. Do NOT put personal stuff like a wallet, car keys and medicine in your checked bag! No liquid. If you do, and it spills YOU may have to pay for the damage to other pax luggage. Use a metal container champagne comes in, stuff it with socks and underwear to make the bottle safer. Flying as a family with more than one bag; divide all the clothing and shoes in all the bags. So if a bag is missing, all are good except dad. Put your business card in a side pocket, so they know who to contact if found nameless or tagless. I always have my toiletries in my carry on together with a pair of underwear and socks. Take a picture of your passport. You need to confirm that you are you at the Embassy. That is all I can think of for now. Smoke alarm and flashlight is also a good thing. Make sure you know where all the exits are, also on train, busses and hotels. Keep up the good work. Be safe!
Bandana. Can be used to tie hair back, folded over eyes to keep light out while napping, tied on suitcase handle, handkercheif, sweat band, wash rag, impromptu mask for bank robberies...just kidding. It doesn't take up any space and it does have a lot of uses.
I've seen a passenger took spray paint to his bag. Let me tell you that bag really stood out 😂
I use orange duct tape on a basic black bag - You would be a FOOL to grab it! It stands out!
I remember reading about someone who used bright yellow tape to spell out "MINE" on the side of his bag. When it came around on the carousel he was amused to see a baggage handler had changed it to "YOURS."
I take a white and cream colored sun hats. Dollar tree has some really pretty scarves. I pick a few and wrap one around the hat to match my outfit.
Thank you!! Please do the packing tips too! Great Video!
Glad you showed me the items from Dollar Store. Yes, would like to see what you packed for a trip!
This may sound corny, but you can learn a lot from these guys.
Travel can have its ups and down. Even when these guys have reason to be negative- they are always positive and grateful.
In all seriousness-it is a great life skill. You will undoubtedly have hard times in life - but if you can have their positivity in will go a long way in your life and those around you.
The craft aisle also has little plastic containers with lids that you can put your face cream in.
Yes, do the packing video! Great tips here and for sure a big money saver!!
Great tips; ribbon on your suitcase makes good sense. All luggage looks the same. Best video by you. More of this definitely. 😊
Jeb, seeing you at the Dollar Tree on New Garden Rd made my day because I just realized that a famous RUclipsr and potentially my aviation idol lives right here with me in Greensboro!!!
Packing is an ever--evolving task! I'd love a packing hacks vid. Thanks for all the fantastic tips and trip advice!
YES!
I love this! Nice way to change things up!
Even slobs like me who rarely travel anywhere has learned! Good job!
(Wish my dollar store was that clean and quiet!)
I was thinking the same thing about mine.
Mine is pretty clean though very busy
That triple pack of refillable bottles is also TSA friendly, holding enough product to take you through a short trip. Mine hold shampoo, conditioner, and liquid soap (it lathers up better in hard water and you don't have to lug around a slimy bar of soap). If you're going on a plane, take the time to cover the tops with a bit of plastic wrap or put the filled bottles into a ziplock bag, then squeeze out as much air as you can. Big changes in air pressure can cause bottles to pop open and leak everywhere, so protect your stuff.
I’d like to see your tips for packing!
The Dollar store has so much good stuff! Sometimes you just need to go up every aisle!! Thanks for sharing!
Great tips! Also, when staying at a vacation rental for a month, we've bought stuff at the Dollar Store or at thrift shops that we left when we went home. For example, our rental house had a set of very nice wine glasses that we were afraid we might break, so we bought four at the Dollar Store for everyday use. Some (but not all) paper goods and plastic bags at the Dollar Store are a good deal.
Jeb you are such a happy guy with a ton of charisma, myself and wife really enjoy your content. cheers
Great ideas! A little bit of money at the dollar store can make a big impact when traveling, and it's much easier than trying to find the store when you reach your destination. I had to adhere a sticker to my bag so I can identify it. It does make it easier to locate when it comes around the carousel.
I always hit the dollar store for essentials for my travel. My hacks are the white stickey hooks for hanging clothes or small ones that fit over the doors to hang towels.
love u guys thanks for making a difference in our world your both are super amazing love you stay safe
I have used the shower cap hack on shoes in my suitcase for many years. Shower caps are also useful to protect your feet at the TSA check point. I quickly put them on over my socks to walk thru the scanner. No worries of picking up "germs" from the hundreds of thousands of feet that have crossed the check point. Once past the TSA area, find a bench to remove the shower cap protectors and slip into your shoes once again, germ-free. I carry a second pair for my return trip. They take up very little room and give the "germaphobe" in me great piece of mind. New subscriber today.
Hi Jeb & Suzanne,
Thanks for your video chock full of tips for travel.
Looking forward to seeing your new adventures this year.
Best Wishes,
Peter
I travel a lot and yet I never thought of the shower cap hack for my shoes! Great idea! Thanks for all your great videos! Really enjoy following your adventures.
pill organizer for jewelry is GENIUS omg!!!
I started packing a small packable handbag (DC Metro Silver Line Ph2 Opening!) and one of those drawstring backpacks and its a game changer. I use the small one when I'm at a con and wanna buy merch and the drawstring bag for walking around and just wanna keep some stuff close. The documents folder is an excellent add on. I like to print out boarding, hotel, and conference docs in case my phone dies.
Yes to the travel EDC. I'd love to get tips for stowing smaller items into pouches.
I'm not a traveler (l live vicariously through you 2 🙂), but even for a weekend trip, these are great ideas. Thank you!
Jeb and Suzanne, thank you so much for this video! Another great thing to have, would be clothespins or clips for when the drapes in the hotel room don't stay completely shut. A friend of ours shard that with us, and we're passing along the info to you.
I buy a lot of that stuff at $Tree for travel but I've never thought to take along a nightlight! Always blinded in hotel rooms when I go to the bathroom in the night. Except one Hilton in NYC that had strip lighting around the base of the bed that came on when your feet got close enough. No tripping!
I love the both of you. Please keep making videos together. It keeps me smiling.
It's a good day when Jeb posts :)
Bringing aisles and miles of smiles.
I am a single traveler and would love to see how you do the planning for a trip, and arranging transportation to and from different modes of travel. For example getting to another state to take the train. Do you long term part your vehicle in the other state or search out different public transportation modes. Thank you for the great travel videos!
Wow! Never thought about the shower cap on the shoes! I always just used a grocery bag!
I've always hit up Dollar Tree before a flight to stock up on snacks, but these are some really great tips and tricks!
This was great. A lot of your tips we already do thanks to my Mum being a wise traveller and teaching us the tricks of the trade but we still learned some new ones. Other hacks and tips videos would be so appreciated. We love your videos.
These are some really good travel tips. I usually get my snacks and a few toiletries at the dollar store as well for my travels. Tip #12, for a fresh smell in my luggage I'll sometimes through in my favorite bar soap, dove or Irish spring. Love your content as always.
I take that round pill holder and put meds like Imodium, Advil, Tylenol ECT. I write on the back with a marker the product and then put in a Ziploc bag. It works great for your purse too. I get a roll of colored duck tape and put a line of it around the middle of my suitcase. I like bright purple. It also helps if your zipper breaks.
Don't they prefer you keep medicine in the original containers when you go through airport TSA?
Yes please, a packing video would be amazing
Hi Jeb and Suzanne I love your videos and I would love to see your packing tips and hacks keep up the great videos
Thanks for the tips!❤
I dont know why, but everytime i see Jeb, I smile. Keep up the great work, sir!
Now I'm definitely gonna be stopping at the dollar tree before my Europe trip later this year.
Love this!! More tips and tricks for traveling would be lovely from you guys! I feel like so many of us relate to your and Suzanne’s down-to-earth sense of traveling, so your Professional But Real views would be so helpful! ❤
Really really really enjoyed this video and I hope you do many many many more. Shopping for travel supplies and packing tips would be appreciated!!! The dollar tree ideas were just fantastic!!!!!
I get the paper lantern from Dollar Tree to use in my cabin on a cruise ship. It has an LED light, folds flat, and uses AA batteries. Hang them from the ceiling using the hooked mag ets from harbor freight. One in the cabin and one in the bath.
Hey Jeb :)
I'm a teenager who watches your videos, and I think it's interesting when you gon on flights that often don't start or end in the same place. However, I noticed, you've never been to my home airport in Baltimore, BWI airport. You should go some time. It's actually a pretty nice airport.
Packing hacks would be awesome!
What a fun and different "travel" video.
Thanks for taking us along!
You are hitting so many pain points! Love the painters tape idea!!
Wow thanks Jen and Suzanne!😀🇺🇸❤️✈️
I might not need all of these items you recommended but my word, what a really great video. Really helpful to have genuine budget items recommended, even more that its available from one store! Definitely saving this video for when I next travel!
Glad we got to see more of Suzanne in this vid! Yall are fun to watch together! ❤
That is awesome that you're showing us your travel hacks and habits! You should make more of these.
Thanks Jeb! I’m going to travel a bit this summer so this will help a lot.
Hello Mr and Mrs B yes packing tips please Happy Trails!😂😂😂
Hey guys, happy Saturday! I'd definitely like to see a "packing hacks" episode. Along the same lines, maybe episode on travel clothing (doing laundry in your room?) and electronics/gadgets. I like the name of your licorice, "Wiley Wallaby"...good for a trip down under, eh? Enjoy your trip to California, the sunshine is back...for the time being, anyway. Happy trails!
$Tree has the lowest price anywhere for Wiley Wallaby licorice which is the best brand. They normally carry red and black plus sometimes other flavors.
Ziploc bags are also great for keeping stuff organized and for shaving a little time off at security checkpoints. Ponchos are great too. Also an eyeglass repair kit. You never know when you’re going to need to tighten the screws on your sunglasses or change the battery on your fitness band.
I've been using the laundry sheet idea for years now, it's great! But I hadn't thought about the shower cap to protect shoes - genius!
Thank you! ❤❤❤
I’d love to see your packing hacks! These videos are super informative, thank you guys 🙏🏻🙌🏼
Ah yes, another great video from my two favorite RUclipsrs! I love the advice in this video and it's fantastic watching the range of you channel's videos expand even further! Bravo, you two!
Thanks Jeb ! I live at the dollar tree 😊
LOVED the shower cap hack! Thanks for the tips and tricks.
Thank you for the video!
Great idea on shower cap. Now I know what todo with those hotel shower caps
I get all my travel size toiletries items from the dollar store I’ve been doing it for years
You’re so great that I enjoyed watching you shopping as much as I enjoyed watching you flying 😁😁
Great tips! Will definitely be picking up some of these items on my next trip to Dollar Tree! Thanks!
