I extended this GREAT TOPS hit with original Funk Brothers instrumentation.
No question about it. THIS is what real music sounded like, no foul language, no obscene gestures, no calling women "bitches" or "hoes", just music that lifted your heart and caressed your soul. Can I get an "Amen?"
Amen, brother!
Levi Stubbs one of the greatest voices of the last 50 years, he is sorely missed..
And so is Teddy Pendergrass
This is an era when singers had real talent !!!
This is my father, Norm Ray on the sax Solo.......and NOT one of the "Funk Brothers" my father filled on Saxophone for so many hits from 1960-1965
Looked him up. Thanks for info and update.
👍👍👍
Pleased to meet You
You must be so proud
In my humble opinion, that makes your dad an HONORARY "Funk Brother " and worthy of the same measure of respect. He most certainly has mine.
It's heartbreaking to think they're all gone now. My goodness, they were awesome!🙏❤
Youngsters don’t know what good music is
No question about it. THIS is what real music sounded like, no foul language, no obscene gestures, no calling women "bitches" or "hoes", just music that lifted your heart and caressed your soul. Can I get an "Amen?"
The baritone saxophone is so good.
Appreciate Stubbs for never abandoning his group....... like David, Smokey, Phillipe, and Teddy
RIP 🙏 Guys to all 4 of you. Your contribution to the music industry will not be forgotten 😢😢😢. How awesome you all were
Im glad you all stayed together. RIP
Levi Stubbs....memories of my teenage years and my first love
Music that could give such great happiness! Sweet memories!
I love the solo entry from Levi Stubbs... fantastic!
No question about it. THIS is what real music sounded like, no foul language, no obscene gestures, no calling women "bitches" or "hoes", just music that lifted your heart and caressed your soul. Can I get an "Amen?"
I never ever was thinking that you could make greatness to be even greater ! Pure joy at it's best .
56 years after hitting the charts this version is as up to date as the original was. The genius of Motown coupled with yours in the remix is magic, pure magic.
This is a Fantastic re-mix! who is listening in 2022??
No question about it. THIS is what real music sounded like, no foul language, no obscene gestures, no calling women "bitches" or "hoes", just music that lifted your heart and caressed your soul. Can I get an "Amen?"
Four tops for ever bless them
This song reminds me when we danced for hours, all nite long. At 73 still rockin to this. Dang Gina, where did the time go?
Actually, i can listen to this whenever I want. ❤🎉😅
They were so exciting and gracious. I will always like them. There music brings back such wonderful memories.
Yes, when men were men and we women loved them. Thank you for the music. ✊

@@ojivey8273 so true.😊
Women was Women too ,And generally more men married too !!!
My favourite voice of Motown. The late, great Mr. Levi Stubbs. Wow.
the most righteous voice in music.
Steven Sobota The Righteous Brothers might have something to say about that but there’s no DOUBT these artists KILLED it in the 60’s and forever!!
I agree.... he was my favorite too>>>
Co-sign on that
. . . and so handsome too!
Now, THIS is music!
One of the Great lead singing voices ever in the history of popular music Levi Stubbs rest in peace my brother
Levi Stubbs was underrated as a lead singer. The passion and energy he put into a song is matched by only a handful of singers. One of those guys you instantly recognized.
Could listen to this all day long. Mr. Levi Stubbs and the rest of the Tops are phenomenal.
Thank you so much for this extended version, which showcases their greatness even more.
One more masterpiece from nineteen sixties
You 4 stars will always shine brightly in my and other folk's lives. This wonderful Motown team may not be singing any new hits, unless AI helps, but even so, they left us with nothing but golden tunes that seem to last forever.
Such an awesome version of this song! The lead-in by Levi Stubbs really enhances the song.
I love this song.
On this day in 1966 {January 30th} the Four Tops appeared on the CBS-TV program 'The Ed Sullivan Show'...
They performed a medley of their hits; "It's the Same Old Song" {#5 in 1965}, "Something About You" {#19 in 1965}, and "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)" {#1 for 2 weeks in 1965}...
Lead singer Levi Stubbs, aka Levi Stubbles, passed away on October 17th, 2008 at the age of 72...
R.I.P. Mr. Stubbs and Mr. Sullivan {1901 - 1974}...
Best group evet

Motown songs will forever be there for everyone to admire. These songs make you feel so good with their rhythms that really pump you up and get you going.
No question about it. THIS is what real music sounded like, no foul language, no obscene gestures, no calling women "bitches" or "hoes", just music that lifted your heart and caressed your soul. Can I get an "Amen?"
These songs remind me of the beautiful and happy times as a child and my parents.
This was such an amazing time in my life.❤❤😊😊
Everytime I hear this song I think about the movie the"5 Heartbeats" when Duck and JT bought their family that big house!
Wow! I love ❤️ The Four Tops I love it!❤❤❤ Their singers. They lived a long time ago that’s when they were younger. Their dead. They are taking their pictures.
You're sweet as a honey bee
But like a honey bee stings
You've gone and left my heart in pain
All you left is our favorite song…
Sir Levi Stubbs...i know the Queen would have knighted him. 4 Tops kings🔥

It's never the same old song with Mosogot 😁😃
The greatest of musical times, with this ultra classic that carried many listeners to a new dimension. Mr Levi Stubbs, and the "Four Tops" did just that during the joyful dance sets of the 60's, and beyond. Although I was very young, I remember the teens, and adults reacting to this phenomenal song in the Chi. It was fun and joy with smiles, whenever, this was played. Thanks for playing this, You Tube !
I love the the four tops best of all time
& the Funk Bros best band ever
Chills right from the opening lyrics.............
Massive timeless talent.
Cliff and Paul would agree I’m sure.
Music that never get s. Old. Thank you. 4Tos
ALL MOTOWNS BANDS AND MELODYS. INCLUDING THE GROUPS SINGING VOICES ARE PHENOMENAL🎉🎉🎉🎆🎆🎆 LISA VOLTS
That makes 2 of us. What really is pheonominal is that its a fast jam not a typical slow "Love lost" song!

Excellent..Oui.
This is a amazing song. It was like almost being in the control room reverb stripped. The push is the “Funks”. Benny’s push is out this world. Almost a lesson on his driving beat. Thanx...
Yess I am a sentimental fool I play this song daily , It makes me feel so happy even though I I lost many girlfriends 👯😎🤓🤔❤️🙏🍷🇯🇲

In honor of MR MICHAEL V MALDONADO may he rest in peace.
And leave us not forget John Perrone (aka MOSOGOTAM), lost to Covid on 4/5/20.
This beats anything on the Top 100 singles charts right now by a long shot! Yes, I realize music and music tastes change with each new gen but I have a problem with records with no hook or melody. I can deal with one or the other missing but not both. This 4 Tops record is a hook from beginning to end and this extended mix reveals why.
Incredible !!! Sounds just as today as when it was first released !!!!❤
Sounds just as good today as when it was released !!!!!!!!!!
BLESS you for doing this for us.
All I can say is you keep enhancing my life with these tremendous breakdowns! It's amazing what people can do...especially if left free to do it!

@theboyfromxtown ...thank you, John. I love the instrumental and background musical interludes I've been able to incorporate in these mixes, that were released by Universal and produced by Andy Skurow. Thanks, Andy!!!
