Just a reminder that Coach Vince is fighting next Friday in Dallas, TX at LFA 62 for the belt! I will be there to support, so if you're nearby grab your tix and let's watch him live: www.thebombfactory.com/event/1829288-lfa-62-dallas/. Also I'm doing a seminar in Austin, TX at the ONNIT gym in the Bang Muay Thai Academy on March 24 from 12-2pm. Come train with me in person (all levels encouraged to attend!): www.eventbrite.com/e/fighttips-seminar-at-onnit-austin-tx-tickets-58341494982 Thanks everyone, have a great rest of your week 👋😄

I had to defend myself a couple days ago in a street fight against a guy 2x my weight. I'm 125lbs and this huge guy shoved me and started a fight, I threw about 3 counter punches at him but they were an inch away because I have short reach and this guy was a gorilla, he then came at hella quick and grabbed a hold of sweatshirt and tried throwing me everywhere on concrete and trying to hit me at the same time. When that was over we exchanged a couple more punches and it was done. I got a couple scrapes from the concrete but walked away with zero marks on my face, he landed one little shot to the back of the head when he was grabbing my sweatshirt. Thank you for all the tactics Shane and Vince and these videos definitely help people stay safe, I've been watching fighttips for 2 years and I seriously could of got hurt if I didn't.

Being shorter 5ft6 I have won most of my fights on the ground with good grappling and ground a pound but the fight starts standing and you usually want to be the one who opposed it to go to the ground learn distance your punching distance and safe distance Im fairly muscular so I have knockout power so keep bay keep guard tight use foot work when’s. Punch is thrown with intent it’s spotable slip the punch to get inside and feed a power punch fast and precise if it doesn’t knock down the opponent your in your range to feed more or evade or go for a takedown or best case they drop just my thoughts great tips

I used to box so Ik this stuff is good in the ring, but as for my experience street fighting this will not work when the gloves are off there’s more field of sight of the hands and unlimited coverage of distance depending on the setting, you’re best bet is to keep a distance and wait to counter strike, never look to strike an appointment first which is funny to me they always say make sure you swing first but thats only in the heat of the moment, if it takes more than 10 seconds for a fight to prepare u are no longer in the heat of the moment, so that being said the entire point of counter striking is to strike you’re appointment while they’re center point of gravity is off NOT because you’re blocking a strike, when u hit your opponent in the mist of them attempting to hit you IF YOU LAND they will immediately be discombobulated because gravity said so….so the lesson is WAIT to get hit and WAIT to throw
