  • And we are back with another Final Fantasy XV story theory! My claim today is that the Astral King Bahamut himself is in fact NOT the good guy of FFXV, but in fact a massive d00che canoe. Continuing on from the Ifrit, Eos and Pitioss dungeon theory by original story junkies Perona77, this is a video for players looking to learn all things summons, all things starscourge. And miss a bit of crazy tinfoil hat Peasant action. Spoiler for the ending of the original game, including episode Prompto, Gladiolus and the entire FFXV universe so far. Tally-ho!
    Link to FFP patreon to get in on the giveaway and support the peasanty dream. Thankyou!:

    Now that Episode Ardyn is out. This theory has made a lot of sense that Bahamut is the Villain. Now I also understand why former FF15 director, Tabata planned to make other DLC's that will give you the option to defy the Gods' fate but sadly the plan was cancelled.

      You’re clearly ignorant. If Bahamut was a villain he’d have let Ifrit or the meteor destroy Eos.
      You people are clearly foolish and don’t understand being “chosen” does not mean your life is going to be wonderful. Last time I looked at the Bible the messiah of the Christian religion had to carry a cross while being beaten, he was then nailed to this cross and hung in the air to suffocate. The Romans then stuck a spear in him to show a small mercy and release him from the pain of crucifixion. But the Astrals should sacrifice themselves to save humanity when they already killed one of their own for humanity? How dumb are you? It’s about time the weak ass humans in this lore protected themselves and Ardyn is a cry baby bitch. When he was a respected “healer” and it was all good praise the gods, but as soon as the path becomes a harsh road of sacrifice you don’t want to protect Eos no more. That sums up Ardyn in all reality.

    *SPOILERS*
    The theory that makes THE MOST sense is that Ardyn in the beginning was given BOTH the task of the oracle and the power to protect the crystal, but when his oracle side absorbed the Daemons the gods found out that they made a HUGE mistake by giving him both these tasks since he absorbed them he also could not ascend into the crystal because of his corrupted soul so after Ardyn was *used* as a mistake they decided that next time they will give the powers separately to two people instead of one because the last time they gave both powers to One person AKA Ardyn it went REALLY bad so now they choose two family members instead of giving the lucian line all of the powers. And that second person was Ardyns brother Izunia. It seems like the gods only USED ardyn to 'Test' the powers they would give out then they realised their mistake and fucked Ardyn over by even denying him death.
    So the gods really ARE douchebags.

    I ALWAYS knew that Bahamut was a dick. If he's so powerful why doesn't he fix his mistakes? Why make others sacrifice for things they didn't do? Ardyn had every right to hate him, after all the misery he went through only to have Bahamut turn his back.

      Though to be fair Bahamut trying to sort of fix his mistake but in such a way were no one really questions it and instead makes it seem like the radical ifrit at fault goes to show how much Bahamut likes his image, if people knew of his mistake in the manner we knew he would be made a mockery. So lets add egotistical and self centered to the list of things Bahamut is.
      In one way Bahamut would be seen as the creator and the Lucians were made in his image, shit thats very god like. He even thinks he is the most beautiful to the point where he recreates his look XD

      @goldensky2737 7 лет назад +7

      I know the developers have stated that they made the game vague on purpose, but I don't really buy that. This game could have been a masterpiece if the developers focused their efforts solely on this game alone. But, they just had to create FFXV: Kingsglaive, an anime series, A King's Tale, Justice Monster's Five, AND King's Knight. The FFFXV franchise is scattered all over the place and that was ultimately its downfall in my opinion.

    • @michaelvidal831
      @michaelvidal831 7 лет назад +2

      What downfall? Everyone loved it. Its just not compact which is very rare to have a compact yet be vague and full of deeper elements like FF7 was. They've been making this game for 10 years, the story doesn't only span the text within the game their is visual text in the world environment, visual text in the costume design, they even added an element of pure audio text through its use of radio broadcasts. This game goes beyond you're preconceptions of what a masterpiece should be, it's made people look at things deeply and actually discuss it instead of winking about how beautiful the experience is. I'm not saying its a masterpiece I'm saying it's doing something else that should be respected in its own right

    Bahamut has blue eyes with eyelashes like sora from kingdom hearts. In kh3 sora is able to use the ultima weapon and he uses swords like Noctis but I’ve noticed sora floats in ultimate form just like bahamut. Also in the secret ending yozora puts sora in a crystal. I remember in the ardyn DLC I had read that bahamut vanished into the crystal. Idk I do believe sora is bahamut I see too many similarities. Nomora must have planned something out with this when he was still in charge of versus 13. But now if my theory is right, we might see it into fruition for future kingdom hearts games/verum rex

      Then instead of fixing up their own freaking mistakes, they contract humans to do it for them. Gives the powers of the Ring/Crystal and the Oracle to one guy, not telling him how to properly cleanse the parasite and he takes it into his body due to lack of instructions. This eventually corrupts him, makes him immortal and a new source of the starscorge. As a result, he's rejected by the Crystal due to the Light and the Astrals turn against him.
      Throughout this all, I'm assuming Sheva was against what Bahamut did but unlike Ifrit, she didn't stand up against him and just stayed neutral instead.

    And Ifrit, the hell/fire god, is killed and from his corpse rises a gigantic volvano.
    Why is it that when Eos is killed (the godess of light and dawn), from her corpse emanates the starscourge? Shouldnt it emanates light or something? Why would it be emanating something to darken the world?

  • @ffkoteji
    @ffkoteji 7 лет назад +20

    I sympathize with the director's idea of "perspective." We see the story from the perspective of the world's redeemer, Noctis. However, the stories of others exist in this world. Of both people, and Astrals. And we can interact with these texts, images, individuals, and places we encounter. The story is enriched by making ones interaction with it be like that of the lead. I know I may be alone here. So be it. I find the world of FFXV to be incredible. I see how it's like Homer's Iliad... warriors battling alongside gods. Bahamut is Zeus, Leviathan is Hera, for example. These are just parallels mind you. They help one see how Noctis is a pawn in a grand game. He's used by one king to kill another. Great video Pez! Ready for II whenever it drops.

      Jon Godfrey well said Jon, I have to say I absolutely agree with you! I've always been frustrated with the lack of story engagement when it comes to the other characters. I get that they want to show alternative perspectives and divulge those details in the dlc's. I feel you. Luckily the DLCs have offered a lot of story though, both directly in the narrative, and in the case of Prompto, within the documents and voicenotes that he finds. I think the lack of story is harped on a bit too much though, as gaming content wise this game is MASSIVE. The Menace Dungeons, Legendary Weapons Quests, Hunts, Timed Quests, and Pitioss... to name a few (King's Tale as well.... and King's Knight soon), have provided me with extent hours of enjoyment. I absolutely love XV. It really sparked my love for gaming again... and I do hope it keeps growing. I would love to continue to get patches for the game, and would buy another Season Pass if that means more gameplay/story.

    It seems as if the Miasma theory has a glaring hole: if you don't kill demons, they will eventually die due to natural causes, disasters or maybe internal conflicts. You'd need to contain the demons in an immortal vessal. This pretty much is what Ardyn is. What Bahamut didn't predict was that this twisted Ardyn - so much that he couldn't grant him kinghood. He also didn't predict how far Ardyn would go. I have no defense for ancient Bahamuth, though.

    These fan theories are awesome, and I really wish they could be even partially confirmed, but unfortunately they're never going to be. There's one crucial flaw in all of this, and it is that Eos doesn't exist in the FFXV Universe: the one-winged entity we see in paintings and in the logo of the game is just the ORACLE, and this is confirmed when Lunafreya rests in the exact same position on the Lucis throne and Noctis is added to the artwork alongside her. Other "minor" flaws in the theory are the painting of "Eos" in Kingsglaive is actually the very same painting of ETRO in Versus XIII trailer, the word "Pyreburner" which is never used in the original japanese text, the fact that the crystal holds the soul of the "star" (the japanese word for "star", hoshi, identifies any celestial body, even planets). The only thing that this theory got straight is the Ravatogh being the place Ifrit came crashing down.
    Hats off to you and to the original author on reddit, all of this is magnificently written and told, but the thing is the very pillar of this theory (the existence of Eos in FFXV) is missing.

    I still think that Ravus is Bahamut. He is the only summon it makes a point to show up close (specifically his blue eyes, the same color as Ravus's) Then in the battle with Ifrit, there are two scripted summons, Shiva (Gentiana) and Bahamut (Ravus) the only two who wore human disguises and meant something to Noctis (as Noct nods in understanding with Bahamut) Ravus aslo wears the Knight's glove that resembles Bahamut's clawed hand (The place Noctis was told he must die) It would make a lot of sense because Ravus and Bahamut shared the goal of preparing Noctis for the thrown and Ravus made a big deal out of making sure that the new king was ready for his fate. Please address this theory. It would make for a good discussion.

    So I just finished the game yesterday (yes yes, I know I'm late - and really not happy they first took Nyx and then Noctis away from us *ugly sobs*) and started reading around for all the story theories, which are a lot, and Bahamut being more... morally questionable makes a lot of sense. The way he told Noct about his fate and how he had to sacrifice himself rubbed me the wrong way anyway. Not that he needed to look super sympathetic, but he came accross kind of dismissive, felt very "by the way" to me. So yeah, bad feeling he gave me confirmed. Go home Bahamut, go home :p
    (I like my Bahamuts more FFX style

    I think it is a mockery of how they fused Odin with Bahamet. Bahamet was suppose to be an uncontrolled force of nature: King of the Dragons. This iteration of Bahamet is folly.!! He’s just an astral in dragon-theme armor.
    If the game is in parallel to Greek mythology, I don’t see how gods having kids with mortals is a big taboo. Zeus, Poseidon, and others had demi-god kids, so i don’t see the issue. I think Odin-Bahamet’s motivation is to dominate and kill the other astrals. If he could, they’d all be in dead, but instead he keeps them in check. Using Eos as an example and “the why” for his actions. Bahamet keeps people around for a reason, and this stops the other astrals from going ape-shet on humans.
    Btw, wtf is Diablos, the astral that represents the demons? Did he die in the war, and the star-scourge a by-product of his death?

    Always thought that the Hexatheon (exculuded Ifrit, which my favourite Summon/Astral x3) just wanted to end the "abomination" that Eos created aka her children.
    And we all(or maybe not all)know that Ifrit loves Eos, but sadly wasn't return yet that did not stop him from protecting and trying to keep her away from danger(which sadly, ended in a tragedy; *referring to Pez's Pitioss Theory :3)

    Just a shot in the dark about Ravus.
    Could it be possible that Ravus' magitek arm screwed up with the process of him becoming full demon?
    It's magitek so was using demon energy for power, perhaps Ravus was taking some medicine to keep the demonic energy taking him over, but when he was killed, immune system stopped and a messed up version of the demon transformation took place upon his demon vaccinated body.

    So was an Oracle a king/queen of Lucis?
    If the trident was gifted to an Oracle by Bahamut, then it wouldn't have belonged to a lucii king. Or maybe it's an Armiger weapon because all the royal arms come from Bahamut, maybe? Or does it not count as a royal arm?

      BalladiFieno That's partially correct. Ifrit DID try to destroy man, but only because they betrayed Eos and because the other gods captured and killed her.
      Other theories say that Ifrit is in fact the un-intentional HERO of the story (Pez's other vids). And while the choice of who is the villian is is up to you to decide, Pez does a good job at explaining why Bahamut is the bad guy.

    Theres a lot of satanism referenced in the game. The most obvious one, being Bahamut the Draconian. The fuck????? Last time I checked, being a draconian means youre an unholy abomination. Bahamut = baphomet, satans right hand demon agent. But this comes as no surprise, seeing as how draconians actually run our real life, no way SE woulda been able to release this gane if it didnt promote satanism. Its no skin off my nose, and I enjoyed the game for what its worth, but the flaws, and obvious to me satanic references took a lot away from the game for me.

Now, if only the game could've told us this outside of those tiny ass text boxes that I can't read cause the font's too small. Thanks for another great theory, even if I had to slow down the video to understand your rapid-fire summary!

    At the part where you mention the smoke released upon killing them, I couldn't help but think about the ring of the lucii and the death spell, or even the warp spell. As a disclaimer I'll mention that it's been a long time since I played it, so I might remember wrong, but when you defeat someone with those spells, nothing is left, not even the goo or smoke. Maybe that ring was crafted specifically to avoid that ozone layer thing, in which case, REALLY bad idea to take away it's only wielder for ten years...
    That would also explain why the ring is so darn important in the movie

  • @jmkos86

    It’s a good theory. I’m extremely late as I just finished the game. I understood Bahamut to be righteous. From the astrals, I understood leviathan and ifrit to dislike humans, shiva to care for them, titan, bahamut and ramuh to be neutral to “good”. Haven’t played chapter Ardyn yet but from what I get so far and what you have said, bahamut and ardyn are connected since the beginning. With bahamut choosing ardyn to do and be what noctis did and was but ardyn took the other route as opposed to having an “end” he chose another purpose. And basically bahamut had to make another champion and crowned noctis so basically yeah he messed up big time but I don’t think he’s inherently evil. He made a mistake. I think if he was the real villain he would have had ardyn rule. At least how I see it.

    Is it just me that wants stories like this to be hidden like in FFXV. Else we'll just get cutscenes upon cutscenes of stupid exposition that would further slow down the game. It's why I completely disagree the guys who said FFXV sucks because these stories aren't told outright. If the story have been included, believe me those guys will probably say: "This is stupid. We don't need all these exposition. We can find these out by ourselves."

    • @forsetigodofjusticeexcelle7506
      @forsetigodofjusticeexcelle7506 7 лет назад +6

      Because these are just theories not confirmed in the game to even find out.
      I know you are talking like the Dark Souls style of lore, but that stuff is actually within Dark Souls to find.
      FFXV Simply does not have it, a lot of this stuff comes from Pez's mind alone and is likely far more interesting that what the developers had in mind, if they even had anything this deep in mind to begin with.

    • @TheTwelfthCollector
      @TheTwelfthCollector 7 лет назад +2

      Exactly. I love theories. Different interpretations on the past of the world that was created. If they just simply placed all the story within the game, documented or by word of mouth, it's just not that believable. Even our own world has its pre-historic times.

I'm not hear to say that ffxv doesn't have problems it has boat loads but they way that they worked some of the series mainstay's onto the game in obscure ways is kind of amazing I didn't even click to half of them till my second playthrough.

    Maybe this is why they didn't have Alexander in this game?
    Alexander uses Holy Judgement in previous games, but isn't exactly indestructible himself (In example in Final Fantasy 9, getting impaled with the Sword of Alexandria). He cast Judgement on Bahamut's action and put him in his hibernating state to a Garnet Stone.
    But it also proves that their governance has a limit as well. They will not reign over human will.
    I could be over thinking it though.

I see so many similarities to the bible in this. And that's AMAZING! Gosh, so cool. Aye, do a theory that links the nova crystalia from type zero, ff13 to FFXV. I wanna see you do that cause the entire foundation is there. Gosh dang dude, nova crystalia is about the summons. This entire story of FFXV is about the summons, and what humanity does within the consequences of their intervening.

    Bahamut was also not really trying to fix things if you ask me,
    way it looks to me he just gives some godlike power to a few mortals and then goes away to do his own thing, literally passing on his job to the first gullible mortals he ran into instead of using his own godlike powers to fix the problem in less then a weeks time.
    Leave alone that once he realized Ardyn was no longer doing the job he gave him, he actually let him KEEP his immortality and weapon summoning/warping/illusion powers!
    I mean strip him of those powers already!

    • @luigicrisci7637
      @luigicrisci7637 7 лет назад

      It really isn't. The goddess shown in paintings in Kingsglaive is ETRO from the Fabula Nova Crystallis, and the painting we saw in the movie is the exact same painting that's shown in the trailer for Versus XIII back when its lore was the same as XIII and Agito XIII. The entity we see in the painting in the game, instead, the one-winged person that's represented in the logo, is the Oracle, further confirmed when Lunafreya rests in the very same pose at the end of the game and both her and Noctis transition into the logo, the latter being added to the artwork.
